What's Caitlyn backstory? What did she was like when she's still a scientist? Was she well-known amongst her workplace? What changed her? How good is she in combat? And, what made her spiteful towards Hank? There must be a reason 'cuz why bro got beef w/ a blender lover but not to his friends too

I was planning on making some sort of master post abt this but hey what the heck

Caitlyn wasn't or, isn't really a true scientist there. Just an undercover agent sent by one of the employers to sorta gather data regarding the directors creations or whatnot. As for her popularity, the only people that give a damn to be fed up by her scatterbrained nonsense are christoff, hoffnar, and some other 3 scientist grunts that I've yet to name.

And the change happened when she suddenly left Nexus core and Nexus city all together out of the blue, she finished her mission after all. And only to be shot in the back with a shotgun on some random building. Purgatory happened, revived, yadayada-

In terms of combat, I'd say she's skilled enough with firearms and hand-to-hand combat. I'd compare her with sanford

And the reason why she hates Hank, she blames him for everything. The violence, everything descending into madness, that stuff. She still brings up the time he punched that guy with the boombox just to spite him

But anyways that's all I can tell right now, I have more but my Filipino ass cannot convert those words into English without it sounding weird to read ; - ;

How do you think the grunts feel about human music? We have so many genres and sub genres. I mean they have music too based off the literal first episode of Madcom, but they probably have a more limited amount because who has the time to make music in the wasteland that is Nevada? Maybe one day they hear music coming from the player (They’re listening to music while going about their business) and are immediately interested. Uhhhh idk maybe they’re listening to Wonderwall or something

Well, judging by the first episode and the last episodes where the club that Tricky was in used to be a thing, I have to think that the music-era that grunts are in is definitely something that is a relic of the early 2000's to mid-2000's. Especially since Tricky likes "The Hamster Dance" and when was the last time that song ever trended? Nevada is stuck in that era of music because the madness eventually took over and all the clubs that used to play music got shut down by the Auditor. So music is mostly a pass time and I think public radios are pretty much barely existing in Nevada. Judging by the first episode, I think Hank finds music as a source of annoyance. Which triggers him into killing all of those grunts in the first place. Maybe it was the genre or just the sheer arrogance from the boombox grunt not being considerate of others around them. Regardless of what caused it, I think Hank just finds music overall overstimulating or as a source of pointless noise. But if his Player is playing songs, I think he would be tolerant and curious. I think his favorite genre would be dark punk or rock. Sanford and Deimos come from an era that follows after Hank's hunt of the Sheriff. But they would also have older tastes in music in comparison to modern day humans. Other then techno and "The Hamster Dance", there's not much to the variety of Nevada's music industry. But once the Player begins to show them different songs and genres, they both begin to broaden their horizons with more music and modern day songs. Deimos listens to pop rock and trending songs while he works and Sanford would listen to workout mixes and original musicians while he works out or cooks dinner for the group. (Johnathan Young, Geoff Castellucci, Kamex, and Vetrom for example.) 2B is old enough to remember the sunlight, but still is partially younger than Hank. Still, he probably feels the same about music like Hank does. It's a constant noise maker and doesn't really do much for him in ways of inspiring him. But, he has to admit, working in dead silence while his group members are out would be nice to help him pass the time. So when the Player introduces him to much more mellow music, ones that he can work and be aware of his surroundings at the same time, he's pretty much playing them every time he feels his day just dragging along. He fancies wordless music and instrumentals. Maybe even classical music? Just something he can play in the background on a low volume so he feels less alone and much more occupied. As a whole, I think the world of Nevada really needs more music and fun. Those poor grunts are still listening to songs that were made in the early 2000's, they really need some new albums dropped.

I do actually wanna talk abt my swap au's story tho bc I didn't ever post it to my madcom sideblog lol. Under the cut.

This AU basically swaps ppl and their roles, not personalities. Whose swapped with who is; Jebus and Auditor are swapped, Hank and Sanford are swapped, 2BDamned and Deimos are swapped, Sheriff and Tricky/Hofnarr are swapped...

The basic story stays the same, at least after the beginning, Jeb gets the halo, Sanford+Hank go fight in hell w/ Sheriff, etc etv etc.

Though, the prologue/set up here is v much different;

We start things off w/ project Nexus being developed, Hofnarr and Christoff being apart of this development, both married bc I say so but anyways, Christoff gets assigned the halo project and works VERY hard on it. He tries the halo on himself and gets overtaken by madness, and afterwards slowly goes insane and starts to miss random days at work and etc.

One day, they were testing out something with clones, and Jeb came to work acting weird, and ruined the test on purpose, somehow opening himself a portal to "Purgatory" and going in on purpose.

Hofnarr quits Nexus afterwards and Sheriff mysteriously disappears around that time too, letting his position be open. Hofnarr takes the position, and is the new sheriff ofc, getting a new badge, outfit, and everything.

Sanford ofc starts the "park incident" through the same means as Hank did (boombox was not turned down and he was punched) but after killing like 10 ppl there was no "Jesus" to stop him, he more just stopped killing once happy. This became known as "The Tree Incident" and thst spot became famous, and it's also where the unlikely pair 2BDamned and Hank met and befriended each other.

At some point, Sanford personally pisses off Hofnarr by taking his badge snd Hofnarr makes him an official rival to him. So, then starts Sanford's whole "trying to kill Sheriff" arc.

During this time, Hofnarr hires a body guard, Auditor (an ex-Nexus worker as well).

So, Sanford tries to kill Hofnarr but fails because Audi shoots him before he can kill him, and later he's respawned by Deimos, a hacker whose interested in him and his mission. During this though, Jeb somehow finds his way back to the "real world", looking nothing like a grunt anymore, rather now looking like an employer, and finds his way to Hofnarr, riling him up and asking where him where the halo project is.

But, soon Sanford bursts in and tries again to kill Hofnarr, failing once more, this time being killed by Jeb with his trusty binary sword he got from his adventures in Purgatory, and afterwards, Jeb taunts Hofnarr abt how he'll take over AASM (Hofnarr created it) and etc.

Auditor caught Jeb once taunting Hofnarr and shot him, not hurting Jeb, rather just himself as black goop from Jeb's "shot wound" fell onto him, staining him for life with it.

Next time Sanford bursts in to kill Hofnarr, he succeeds, shooting him in the head with a shotgun, dying in the process to Auditor, and Jeb sees the scene, mourning over Hofnarr's death before taking over as head of AASM. Auditor quits at that point.

2BDamned and Deimos are then hired to go respawn Sanford whenever he dies. Sanford's next mission after respawning from Auditor killing him is to find Auditor and kill him back, breaking into the same building, and now finding a room for a party with some kind of undead DJ named "Sheriff". But before he can question that, Jeb bursts in and blows Sanford to bits, mostly for fun, maybe as revenge for killing his husband.

Sanford comes back again, now w/ a fucked up jaw+etc, and swears to somehow kill Jeb, w/ help from 2BDamned and Deimos.

The rest of the series happens, mostly with just slightly altered details, like Jeb gains the halo from Auditor who tried to use it and didn't go insane like Jeb, and etc.

A thing to note tho is this au is based on the series rather than the game, meaning Phobos isn't canon to this au, just like Skittles isn't. However, if they were canon, they would swap.

I don't wanna go really so deep into this lore, esp if mixing in non-canon lore loke Skittles', and I seem to have lost my art refs on these guys, so that's abt it lol.
