#Boku no koi wa shi ni itaru

I'm writing to you in concerning the other ask and I have to disagree. There is a yandere in Boku no koi wa shi ni itaru who used to bully mc when they were little and still contuined when they were teens. Some yanderes don't mind much about being seen as the bad guy cause it could still give them power over the S/O.

*facepalm*  You’re right!  How could I forget that…I’ve read that manga for crying out loud XD (btw it is a manga I definitely recommend to anyone else).  Thank you for reminding me.  I’m disappointed in myself that not only did I forget that I’ve seen that scenario before, but that even without that example, I completely forgot about the yanderes that actually don’t mind using intimidation tactics to keep their S/O bound to them in a way.  That’s totally the kind of yanderes I like too.  Oops :P

So yeah I know some people view yanderes at the type that I stated before who only want to show their love in a positive light at least to their S/O, and many yanderes can’t even imagine harming their S/O.

But there are definitely some yanderes (of which I may be a bigger fan of) who don’t have any issue crossing over certain lines if it means obtaining the S/O at all costs.  So yeah, having previously bullied the S/O in the past could in fact become leverage for the yandere.  Even when people grow up and become successful, they can still hold onto that trauma and fear their past oppressors (it’s a hard mental obstacle to get over).  If that yandere is a person who already has a naturally bad nature (ex. like they’re just normally a jerk, or a gangster, or a serial killer, etc.) then it’s not so surprising that the yandere doesn’t shirk back from deliberately antagonizing the S/O.  If the yandere isn’t naturally bad by nature, they might just see using something like past bullying as a more efficient way to quickly getting what they want and remaining in contact with S/O more.  

You’d think the S/O would try to ask someone else for help if they’re being threatened by the yandere, but there’s a LOT of reasons (some understandable, and some that unfortunately should not be heeded if the bullying is serious) why the S/O may avoid doing that.  The manga mentioned by the asker I think gives a pretty interesting view as to why the S/O doesn’t get others involved.

Actually speaking of which, that manga is a unique example itself because it’s not quite so simple as “male yandere mistreats the girl he likes so he can keep in control.”  If I recall correctly, it’s basically a mix of things: the death of the brother, plus anger from the sibling, plus guilt from the S/O, plus repressed feelings of the yandere (and if they have a right to stake claim)…so yeah just go read the manga XD  It presents a very specific example that I think makes sense as to why the yandere in it chooses to DELIBERATELY become the antagonist.
