Background
Kate was born in Denver, Colorado during the happier times of her parent’s marriage. Though those happy times did not last very long. She didn’t know a time when her parents weren’t fighting with each other, but they doted on her often. It was honestly a bit of a relief when they divorced. Kate stayed with her mom, but often visited her father. Their home was in the Lakeridge District. Her mother didn’t finish college after she fell pregnant and had a variety of odd jobs over the years. From a waitress to a substitute teacher to a daycare worker. Alice got married several times, but again, these often didn’t last. Alice seemed to want a better life than they could give her, one she felt she couldn’t achieve on her own.
While her mother’s life was a bit more chaotic, her father’s life was much calmer. He settled down with an older woman who already had kids mostly grown. They lived a quiet, happy life and are still together. They were never very rich, but Kate never felt like she was lacking for anything. Both sides of her family connected her to her Chinese-Indonesian culture, especially her mom given her status as a first generation American in her family. Her grandparents being close by helped as well and she appreciates where she comes from, though she does not speak much Indonesian. However she does often cook foods she learned from her family.
Growing up, Kate was one of those people everyone liked. Her kind nature and genuine attitude towards people drew them to her. Ask around people she graduated with and they would say she was always nice. Most didn’t know her that well, but they at least had a kind word to say about her. She was encouraged by friends to join the cheerleading team freshman year, which is how she met her first love. He was on the football team, though he was often on the bench those first few years. But during the first game when she was cheering and he was sitting on the bench, they chatted a bit and they ended up agreeing to a first date. From there, they were inseparable.
TW: Teen Pregnancy
They were the It Couple, the ones everyone talked about being together forever. You often didn’t see one without the other. As they got older, he became a football star and soon they were the ones winning homecoming king and queen, prom king and queen, all the things. They had all their firsts together and talked often about the future together. But reality quickly shifted when Kate fell pregnant just before graduation. She was terrified and wasn’t sure what to do, as well as being afraid of her family’s reaction and his. At first when she told her boyfriend, he was freaked out, but agreed to be there for her. They tried to tell their families together, but his family had always disapproved of her. They had never really accepted her and had hoped for better things for their son. He had gotten a major scholarship for football to a school out of state and wanted him to go there. They wanted Kate to get rid of the baby. Due to pressure from his family and them getting in his head, he told Kate he wasn’t ready to be a father, that he needed to go away to college and pursue his dreams. It broke her heart and they ended things.
He left and never came back, while Kate changed her plans, living with her mother and attending the University of Denver. While her mother wasn’t happy about her pregnancy, she still supported her daughter. She managed to attend some summer classes and most of the first semester so that she could take off the second semester and take care of her child. Her son was born in December and from the moment she laid eyes on him, Eric was everything to her. Since his father wanted nothing to do with him and neither did his paternal grandparents, she never told them about the baby or anything. Occasionally she saw them around town, but they never once asked about their grandchild. Kate’s parents were a huge help when it came to raising her son. They would take turns watching him while she attended university and worked. Her grandparents often came to help with him as well. And while it took a bit longer than normal, she managed to graduate university and become a teacher.
She loved children and was always good with them, so being a teacher had been her plan for years, especially thanks to her father’s influence with his own teaching career. She began teaching the first grade and absolutely loved it. Outside of her work, she fully devoted herself to her son. He was her entire life. She didn’t really date or even attempt to do anything without him. And while they struggled, they were happy together. Until Eric turned six years old and became very sick. He began having trouble eating, growing thinner and thinner, and unable to keep food down. At first, Kate thought it might be some sort of stomach bug, an ulcer, anything other than what it turned out to be.
TW: cancer, pediatric cancer, child death
After many doctor’s visits, Eric was diagnosed with pancreatoblastoma, a rare pancreatic cancer. He had tumors in his pancreas that had been growing for quite some time slowly. They began treatment quickly, starting with surgery in attempts to remove the tumors. During surgery, they found they were unable to remove some of the tumor, so he began chemotherapy. It was a long battle for two years with many ups and downs, but eventually, Eric just became too weak and the cancer too strong. He passed away at the age of eight, devastating his mother. It broke Kate to lose her son, the most important person to her. It was like she lost her entire life when he was gone.
TW: depression, suicide, grief
She fell into a deep depression after her son died, all of it crashing down on her. She took a sabbatical from work and was barely able to leave her bed or home for almost a year. Her friends and family were worried for her, especially after one found her ready to end her life to be with her son. They encouraged her to attend grief counseling and she did. It took a long time for her to get to a place where she could get out of bed, that she could be a normal person again. The pain was with her always, but she could manage it. She came back to teaching eventually, her coworkers welcoming her with open arms. At first it was hard being around the kids, realizing her own son would never reach their age, would never grow older.
Over the years, she has managed to put herself back together. She is a great teacher and still has kids coming up to her to this day, saying she was their favorite teacher. In her social life, she very much keeps to herself, still never having really been with or dated anyone since her first love. She attempted a few dates, but they never worked out.
Personality:
Kate is a very kind and empathetic person. However, she is also very shy and quiet at times. People would describe her as the girl-next-door, the one everyone likes and gets along with. After everything happened with her ex, she became more independent, more hard working to provide for her son. Once he passed away, she became even more reserved, keeping to herself more often. In recent years, she has thrown herself into all sorts of things to avoid feeling lonely and depressed. She volunteers at the theater, doing all sorts of odd jobs for Felipe, including using her old piano skills whenever needed. She is always coming up with fun things for her class, trying out new hobbies, and participating in every sort of city event she possibly could. During the summers when she isn’t teaching, she often even volunteers with the daycare center or library with children’s programs.

Damsel (2024)
As Damsel progresses toward its conclusion, it starts suffering more and more from the “try hards”. Before then, it’s fun to see it come together. With its twists on the fairytale material, you’ve got a movie you’d happily rent, which is appropriate considering it’s available as part of a Netflix subscription.
Lord Bayford (Ray Winstone) receives a proposal from Queen Isabelle of Aurea (Robin Wright) to unite their kingdoms by marrying his eldest daughter, Elodie (Millie Bobby Brown) to her son, Prince Henry (Nick Robinson). This union would greatly benefit her poor northern country and Elodie accepts. As part of the wedding ceremony, the princess is thrown into a chasm - a sacrifice for the dragon who constantly threatens Aurea. Elodie is no helpless victim, however. She's determined to escape and get revenge on those who deceived her.
The best parts of Damsel have Elodie using every trick and tool available to dodge the dragon’s various attacks. She’s tearing off bits of her dress to make torches, bind her wounds and protect her hands. She’s transforming her necklace and broaches into tools. She's using the cave life and environment to her advantage with a fierce determination for vengeance. It may not be flashy to see Millie Bobby Brown get dirtier and dirtier as she continues her medieval spelunking adventure, but what's fun is that you get to play along. As we approach the wedding ceremony, cinematographer Larry Fong and director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo show you every detail of Elodie's outfit. Can you figure out how all of these pieces will play out?
Most of the film is set inside the dragon’s lair, so it’s a good thing that Robin Wright plays the villain so well. You immediately decide not to trust or like her. You can't wait to see what comeuppance she'll get. Unfortunately, the further in we get, the more Damsel becomes interested in exploring the ideas of female solidarity instead of survival or revenge. It’s appropriate considering Elodie isn’t the only woman the dragon has devoured but gets heavy-handed. Eventually, even the (female) dragon is portrayed as a victim of men’s actions and at that point, it’s hard not to say “ok now, hold on”. The entire movie, it’s been nothing but a monster. Taunting Elodie, burning people alive, squishing them under its feet, etc. This thing’s hundreds of years old. We can only assume its kill count is in the hundreds. suddenly, we're supposed to sympathize with it? After the film's spent over an hour and a half showing us how lethal it is?
The "girl power" sentiment gets even worse because once the dragon is shown as a victim, that means the real villain is Elodie's new mother-in-law. So now, Damsel is about women-on-women violence? I guess so. The dragon gets more character development than the Prince and his father (Milo Twormey), who is on-screen time for so little time the movie shouldn't have even bothered to include him.
Damsel is an unbalanced film. It spends much time with its heroine surviving and very little time doing any revenging. The survival stuff is done well and engaging, but ultimately, the movie leaves you wanting more. While it is interesting to see a revenge film that leans more towards female sensibilities and values, a nice, violent, satisfying final confrontation would've counted for a lot. I can feel my rating slipping even as I write this but I’ll give Damsel a recommendation nonetheless. Ultimately, you’re watching it “for free” if you have a Netflix subscription and must admit that I was always entertained while watching. (April 23, 2024)

Damsel Review: A Grim Fairy Tale Beautifully Unraveled
In an era where the lines between classic fairy tale narratives and dark fantasy blur, Juan Carlos Fresnadillo's Damsel emerges as a poignant reflection on strength, sacrifice, and survival. Scripted by Dan Mazeau, the film carves out a unique space in the realm of dark fantasy cinema, embellished by an outstanding ensemble cast including Millie Bobby Brown, Ray Winstone, Nick Robinson, Angela Bassett, and Robin Wright. At its heart, Damsel is a story about the indomitable spirit of a young woman caught in the teeth of ancient tradition and supernatural danger. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iM150ZWovZM The plot revolves around Elodie, portrayed with remarkable depth and resilience by Millie Bobby Brown, a young noblewoman who steps into a nightmare veiled as an honor. Set to marry Prince Henry (Nick Robinson) in what appears to be a dream come true, the narrative quickly pivots into a dark tale when she learns that her destiny is not as a princess but a sacrificial pawn. The film is a rollercoaster of emotions, anchored by Brown's performance, as she encapsulates both the vulnerability and fortitude of Elodie. Her transformation from a sheltered girl into a formidable survivor forms the crux of the movie, earning the audience's empathy and admiration with each turn of the plot. Fresnadillo’s direction ensures that the narrative pace keeps the audience on the edge of their seats. He masterfully blends moments of tranquility with sheer terror. The director's knack for creating atmospheric tension is palpable. It makes the ancient and mystical elements of the story come alive in a way that is haunting. The setting within the dragon’s cave, where a significant portion of the story unfolds, is rendered with such detail that it becomes a character in its own right, embodying both the terror and wonder of the unknown. The screenplay by Dan Mazeau is tight and well-crafted, offering fresh twists on the conventional 'damsel in distress' trope. By centering the story around Elodie's agency and cunning, Mazeau challenges the audience's expectations. He delivers a narrative that is both empowering and thought-provoking. Dialogues are crisp, carrying weight and wisdom, particularly in the interactions between Elodie and Lady Bayford, played by Angela Bassett. Bassett brings a dignified ferocity to her role, providing a complex foil to Elodie’s innocence and determination. Supporting performances add richness to the film's fabric, notably Ray Winstone as the menacing Lord Bayford. Also Nick Robinson, who infuses Prince Henry with a nuanced vulnerability that transcends the archetype of the fairy tale prince. The chemistry between the cast is palpable. It elevates the emotional stakes and drawing the audience deeper into the tale's grim yet enchanting world. Cinematography by Larry Fong is another highlight. It captures the stark contrast between the opulence of the noble life and the eerie beauty of the dragon’s lair. The score enhances the film's tension and emotional depth. Despite its many strengths, Damsel is not without its shortcomings. The pacing is uneven, especially in the second act, lingering too much in the cave scenes. While these moments are critical for character development, a tighter edit could have maintained the story's momentum more effectively. Additionally, some may find the film's dark themes and intense sequences overwhelming, though they are integral to the narrative's impact. Damsel stands out as a darkly beautiful exploration of strength in the face of unimaginable trials. The film is a compelling entry in the dark fantasy genre with stellar performances, especially from Millie Bobby Brown. It resonates deeply with its empowering narrative, rich character development, and striking visuals. Read the full article

Mission King Of The Baggers, BellissiMoto Twins Cup And Mission Super Hooligan National Championship Classes Join The Daytona 200. MotoAmerica, North America’s premier motorcycle road racing series, has announced a total of 143 entries for the three classes that kick off the 2024 MotoAmerica Championship at Daytona International Speedway, March 7-9. The 82nd running of the Daytona 200 will feature 67 riders with 28 of those from outside the United States. The race can also boast of three past Daytona 200 winners (Josh Herrin, Brandon Paasch and Danny Eslick) on the 2024 entry list. But the Daytona 200 isn’t the only race happening at the Speedway as the Mission King Of The Baggers, BellissiMoto Twins Cup and Mission Super Hooligan National Championship will also be in action on the high banks at the “World Center Of Racing” for what will be the start of their championship seasons. The entry list for Mission King Of The Baggers is 16-riders strong, and it features defending class champion Hayden Gillim aboard his RevZilla/Motul/Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson as he battles against rivals Kyle Wyman and James Rispoli who represent Harley-Davidson Factory Racing. The other American Big Twin motorcycle company, Indian Motorcycle, are represented by Tyler O’Hara, who is teamed up this year with fellow S&S/Indian Challenger rider Troy Herfoss, a three-time Australian Superbike Champion who will be making his Daytona debut. And speaking of riders from other countries, the pride of Andorra, a MotoGP podium finisher, as well as a World Supersport and World Superbike multi-time race winner, Rubén Xaus is all-in on his Feuling Parts Harley-Davidson. He’ll have to face Bobby Fong, who is back aboard his SDI/Roland Sands Racing/Indian Challenger. Then there’s the three-rider Saddlemen/Harley-Davidson team with Cory West, Jake Lewis, and Travis Wyman. And let us not leave out the surprise signing of the off-season with Hayden Gillim’s teammate Rocco Landers also aboard a RevZilla/Motul/Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson. Mad Monkey Motorsports’ Max Flinders is hopeful of duplicating or improving on his podium result from the last KOTB race in New Jersey in 2023 and Trask Performance is fielding Shane Narbonne. Indian insider (he’s an engineer) Kyle Ohnsorg is back aboard a Challenger after a podium-reaching performance at COTA last year. Flat tracker Jesse Janisch is bringing his sideways-sliding style to the Suburban Motors H-D/Slyfox/Trask Performance team. And they will all be joined by Danny Eslick, the four-time Daytona 200 winner who will be aboard his Nowaskey Extreme Performance Harley. Meanwhile, 25riders have entered the BellissiMoto Twins Cup series opener with two races around the 3.51-mile, 12-turn Daytona road course. Defending Twins Cup Champion Blake Davis will start the season as the favorite on his Yamaha YZF-R7, but he will face a considerable challenge from both Aprilia and Suzuki-mounted riders. The Suzuki attack is led by Team Hammer’s Rossi Moor on the new Suzuki GSX-8R with Vance & Hines also fielding Rocco Landers on a GSX-8R. Aprilia, meanwhile, will be well represented by Robem Engineering’s Gus Rodio, who will be teamed up with Italian Alessandro Di Mario and wild-card New Hampshirite Ben Gloddy, who is returning to the team for at least one round (and maybe more?). And, speaking of Italy, new team TopPro Racing has brought in Romeo Chiavini to pilot an Aprilia. Those four will be joined by eight more Ape-riders ready to go “660” on the field of 25. Along with Davis in the Yamaha YZF-R7 camp are former class champion Kaleb DeKeyrel, South African Dominic Doyle, and his Giaccmoto Racing Yamaha teammate Sonya Lloyd, who raced in last year’s Royal Enfield Build. Train. Race. program, and British-racer-living-in-Canada Jack Roach returns to MotoAmerica after a hiatus of a couple of years. Thirty-five riders have entered the series opener for the Mission Super Hooligan National Championship with that class featuring 12 different manufacturers doing battle. Making its debut at Daytona is the Yamaha MT-09 SP, a three-cylinder motorcycle that will be piloted by three different riders, including Italian-born, Switzerland-residing FIM Endurance World Championship-winning rider Niccolò Canepa. Defending class champion Tyler O’Hara is back aboard his S&S/Indian FTR1200, Andy DiBrino returns aboard his Competition Werkes/Gray Area/KTM 890 DUKE R, and Stefano Mesa will once again be aboard his Tytlers Cycle Energica Eva Ribelle RS electric bike. Plus, there are seven Harley-Davidson Pan Americas, a couple of BMW R nineTs, two Ducatis, a pair of Suzuki SV1000s, an Aprilia Tuono, a Buell XB12XT, and even a Victory Vegas in the mix.

MORGEN GAAT BOBBIE WEER MEE IN BAD
Mijn bagage ligt in mijn hand: Bobbie gaat in bad. Morgen gaat Bobbie weer mee in bad.
Bobbie gaat in bad. Een magisch badboekje voor volwassenen. Tekst en concept Monique Hendriks. Tekeningen Maarten Berkers. Kleur Fong Mungkhunkhamchao. Uitgave Woez Publicaties, 2023.

“Was that supposed to hurt?”
Kara is so caught up in the celebrations that she doesn’t even hear the ding of an elevator that’s been silent for two years. It’s one of those nights where she gets to slip back into the crowd as Kara Danvers, be around Nia and Brainy and all the CatCo employees who definitely don’t suspect she’s Supergirl. Probably. Like, it’s mostly a coincidence that they always have a party in the office for Supergirl’s biggest victories, and that those parties usually don’t start until Kara arrives in her regular clothes, but... yeah. That’s a problem for another night.
A night when Cat’s private elevator hasn’t dinged into life out of nowhere.
In that moment Kara’s as nervous as she ever was on a Monday morning with a laser-reheated latte in her hand. She parts the crowd of semi-drunk revelers as though they’re not even there. Nobody else has registered the elevator, of course. They can’t hear like Kara can. They haven’t been waiting for that one, simple sound every day they’ve come into CatCo since Cat walked away for a second time.
And then the doors slide open.
Cat, it goes without saying, is a vision in black. The skirt is leather, the top something silk and strappy and redder than blood. Her hair is lighter than Kara remembers it being, with just that delicious hint of silver at her temples, giving way to wavy blonde curls. She struts across the floor like she’s never been away, and the crowd parts like the Red Sea as always. Only one person can’t seem to get out of the way, and that’s Kara herself.
“What in the name of Bobby from Queer Eye have these people done to my offices?” Cat demands, marching into what used to be her sacred domain. From muscle memory alone, Kara follows in her slipstream, feeling every eye in the room on them both. “Can someone hire me an assistant? And then tell them to get Cliff Fong in here for a total revamp. I don’t care what beach hut he’s flipping for Ellen right now, get him here Monday.”
Kara looks around. No one else has been brave enough to get close, so that order sort of lands with her. Well, it’ll be nice, for old time’s sake.
“Ms Grant? We uh, weren’t expecting you.”
“Close the door, Kara.”
Well, at least she still gets Kara’s name right. That’s usually the first thing to go. Kara closes the glass door with no small amount of trepidation. She isn’t prepared for this. Usually an encounter with Cat requires list-making, research, and plenty of practice on focusing so the stupid, raging crush that never dies won’t rear up and derail everything.
“Did you need something? Ms Gr--”
“It’s Cat. You don’t have any problem calling me that while you’re in the cape, so don’t get cute with me now. Do you know why I’m here?”
Kara fumbles for an answer. “Well, no, I mean... I guess because there’s... a party?”
“Do you think I’m dressed like this,” Cat gestures to her admittedly gorgeous ensemble, and wow Kara hadn’t even noticed the killer heels with the delicate ankle straps before, “to attend an event catered with solo cups and cold pizza?” She throws the leather jacket she had over one arm down on Andrea’s desk.
“No?”
“Damn right. I’m supposed to be wining and dining a few Oscar winners and a couple of Governors at an exclusive charity event that even Meryl Streep got waitlisted for. But about an hour ago, on my way from the airfield, can you think what I saw that might have altered my plans?”
Kara isn’t sure where this is going, she’s still playing catchup on thirteen different things. “An hour ago? Well, lots of things were happening then. Was it traffic, maybe?”
“Traffic? Only if you mean traffic caused by Supergirl being knocked out of the night sky by a huge rock-thing about twelve times her size. I saw those agents take it down in the end, but you...”
Cat’s voice catches. It almost sounds like... no, it can’t have been. Still, Kara can’t work out where to go as Cat suddenly advances on her, pointing a finger in accusation.
“You didn’t get up. They waited and waited and eventually the coverage cut away. I had to call people. I had to threaten my former employees to get footage of you walking out of there. I’m told it took three agents to support you.”
All approaches seem closed to Kara in that moment. Denial? Pointless. Deflection? Cat would eat her alive for even attempting it. That leaves only one way out: acknowledgment.
“I’m fine. Yeah okay, not my most elegant landing and my powers were on the fritz for a hot minute there, but look at me. I’m all in one piece.”
Rao, Cat is close. Close enough that Kara can feel that classic, elegant perfume tickling her nose, see the lightest dusting of powder on Cat’s cheeks.
“And that’s supposed to be enough? I have watched you fall too many times. That goth Barbie version of you? Lex Luthor? Why do they all get so close to hurting you, Kara? You’re supposed to be... you’re supposed...”
Kara expects the little rant to dissolve into tears, but instead Cat’s hands form fists. Before Kara can register, those fists are beating on her chest in a drum roll of frustrated thumps that she can’t even feel. Cat punches out whatever has her so worked up, the curse words punctuating the beat perfectly. Only when she’s all thumped out do her shoulders slump, and Kara catches her, pulling her into a hug that’s apparently long overdue for both of them.
“Was that supposed to hurt?” She can’t help asking. “Because you know, I am pretty much invincible.”
“Shut up,” Cat replies, her head tucked against Kara’s neck, tears dampening the collar of her shirt. “Other times I’ve been able to handle it, I told myself you had a team. But seeing it happen when I was finally back in the city, just a few blocks away... something snapped.”
“I think you snapped,” Kara says, not being all that helpful. “But I guess it’s kind of nice to know that you care. I don’t really hear from you a lot these days. There have been a bunch of times when I really needed to.”
“I know.” Cat pulls back just a little, looking up at Kara. “I let you down because I didn’t want to distract you. I see now that no amount of country or distance is ever going to stop this... thing. So I may as well come back here to save CatCo and finish the job of mentoring you. Although, credit where it’s due, I think you’ve applied my initial lessons very well.”
“You’re coming back?”
Cat nods.
And Kara, Rao help her, is too happy at the news to do anything other than claim the kiss she’s wanted for all these years. She presses her lips to Cat’s and receives only welcome and encouragement when she does. They kiss like there’s no one on the other side of the glass, like nothing else matters, like they were always destined to share this kiss and all it means.
“Wow,” Kara says, the first to break contact. “You really did miss me, huh?”
“Don’t be unbearable,” Cat warns. “And let’s get out of this goldfish bowl. I have plans for you that would mostly certainly get us arrested if we invite an audience.”
Kara feels a thrill past through her like a bolt of lightning. As always, Cat Grant wastes no time once she decides what she wants. Kara has been ready for almost five years, so why delay the happy, thrilling inevitable.
“I think I can get us to your place quicker than your car service,” she suggests, picking up Cat’s jacket and helping her on with it. “You’ll have to hold on tight, though.”
“Don’t worry, Kara,” Cat says as she’s scooped up in Kara’s arms. “Now I have you, I have no intention of letting go.”

Any other TVB dramas you would recommend? I actually just started rewatching some old ones because I think they're a lot better than the recent ones!! Also the actors/actresses were better at acting imo 😂
I definitely think there are some classic hk dramas from the earlier years that were very funny and loved. some that come to mind are any dramas that dayo wong has been in so war of the genders (2000), to catch the uncatchable (2004), you’re hired (2009) and my bounty lady (2013) are my favorites. In the recent years I would say these are my favorites...
death by zero
brutally young
the learning curve of a warlord (💛)
barrack o’karma (💛💛💛)
wonder woman
watch out boss (💛)
daddy cool
my unfair lady (💛)
legal mavericks
a fist within four walls
house of spirits
law dis-order
dead wrong (the first couple episodes are really good and I love roger kwok so bad)
gloves come off
I’ve honestly seen or at least heard of every hk drama ever produced just because that’s all we watch during dinner, so these are some of my favorites as of this decade that I can remember. since hong kong comes out with a new drama every month they’ll generally cast good actors in good dramas. so I enjoy really anything with wayne lai, roger kwok and joel chan. every so often, bigger names who don’t frequent dramas anymore like bobby au-yeung, alex fong, dicky cheung, miriam yeung, jessica hsuan, tavia yeung and SOMETIMES eddie cheung are usually in dramas with better scripts and stories. I watch a lot of their dramas!

My OUAT Rewatch -- S6E17 -- Awake
Link to Rewatch Review and Ranking archive
Ah yes, part 3 of Hook’s not that excellent Adventure. Also
What the Fuck is Emma Wearing???
I mean, the rest were bad, but how in the actual fuck did Emma Swan start out like this:
And end up looking like a reject from an Amish community? I do not get it.
Speaking of things I do not get . . . . this episode. I mean . . . . it didn’t suck totally but it didn’t NOT suck and it was like it was TRYING to be good and ended up being a hot pile of shit and I don’t even know anymore, I swear, I’d have bailed if Bobby weren’t still on the show . . . . . grumbling under the cut . . . .
First of all, since when do flowers with pixie dust grow in CURSED Storybrooke? Wasn’t the whole point that there was NO MAGIC????
Second of all, I think this is literally the only scene that Belle has with the Black Fairy, and she’s only mildly annoyed. You’d think after the past three seasons of her bitching and yelling at Rumple for everything, even if he didn’t do it, that she’d actually be allowed to bitch and yell at the bitch who TOOK HER SON and has been TORTURING him! Because I know I’d be ready to cut a bitch with that woman if that were my kid, and I don’t even have kids or particularly LIKE kids. But I’d have been all over her ass, magic or no magic. But again, hey, it’s just Belle -- why give her character development? Or airtime. Or anything to do with HER OWN FUCKING STORYLINE!!!!!
Third . . . . . I’m sorry, but did I just hear Emma Swan APOLOGIZE TO HOOK for him killing her grandfather? Why yes . . . . yes I did. Who is this woman?
Fourth . . . . did we really seriously need Hook to propose to Emma as her parents lay in a sleeping curse RIGHT BEHIND THEM, and then for her to not interrupt him and just let him go on and then make out with him? Then be like oh yeah, here’s my mom and dad who are basically dead but YAY, we getting married!
These two have no shame. How are they appealing in ANY way?
Fifth . . . . why is Zelena there?
Sixth . . . . . wait, Rumple can provide a portal for Snowing to find Emma but he can’t provide one for himself to find Baelfire? WHAT??? What the ACTUAL FUCK?????
And sadly, despite all of these complaints, I didn’t actually HATE the episode. There’s been worse.
How’s that for bullshit? I just listed six reasons (I have more but I’m stopping at six or I’d be here all day) on why this episode was stupid and ridiculous, and yet it was still not the worst thing the show has ever offered.
No wonder I spent most of S6 in a state of perpetual anger.
BTW, have some of me in 2017 live blogging this one (have not looked at ANY of these until just now after I finished writing the above -- let’s see how much I agree with 2017 me):

Nope, not sorry.
Dear lord, this is when they started advertising the musical episode. How many episodes away is that? I never watched it, I’ll need alcohol.
Points tally:
40 points to start
5 points for Leah Fong -- at least she TRIED?
10 points deducted for Hook and Zelena
Sorry, gotta dump 25 points here. Way too much nonsense and WAAAAAY too much Hook propping. Although honestly I’d dump 25 for the pilgrim dress alone.
Total points: 10
