Mike knew damn well that he wasn't the only one having nightmares. As close together as they slept at night, it was impossible not to feel how Harvey would start awake with a single gasp and lie there, breathing hard for a long moment, occassionally dragging his fingers through Mike's hair, trying to calm himself down.

He was also aware of the ritual that would come after- how Harvey would gently shift Mike onto his side, and adjust the pillows around him so that he wouldn't wake up uncomfortable and the blankets so he wouldn't wake up cold. Then he'd get out of bed, down what was left of his water and then get up to refill his glass before he double and tripple checked that every door in the apartment was locked. Only then would Harvey allow himself to lay back down, wrapping himself as tightly around Mike as possible reguardless of what the consequences would be for his back in the morning.

It was getting less and less unusual for Mike to wake up practically pinned to the mattress with Harvey's body curled defensively over him.

Favorite Character

Anyone who knows me, knows from one of my tags that a very underused character has become my firm favorite. Sure, I'm still a diehard Rumbeller, but what would Rumbelle be without their good friend Jefferson?

And the poor guy is in deep danger in the fic I'm currently writing, the second installment in the To See... series. Here's a snippet.

“Hello, Jefferson,” he said and his voice was a melodic juxtaposition to the deathlike figure that tried to step across the threshold. “You and I have business, my friend.” “I owe you nothing,” Jefferson spat. “You wasted your time in coming here.” “Time is mine to waste,” the figure hissed.
