It's my birthday so I command you all to look at my giant sweet baby boy Levi (short for Leviathan) who died last month quite suddenly from lung cancer. I miss him every day.
About five years ago he was found in a carrier outside of the cat rescue's offices on a Monday morning clearly having been stuck in there for at least a day. His ear is clipped, meaning at some point he was part of a catch and release neuter project for ferals. And yes, he was always that fat - he was 20lbs when I adopted him. I fell in love with him immediately. A week after I adopted him, he developed a urinary blockage, extremely common in adult male cats but also fatal if not caught in time. I had to convince the cat rescue agency to help cover the cost of treatment and surgery because he had so much crystals/stones in his bladder it was definitely going to happen again. When I first adopted him he didn't even know how to meow to get my attention he was so unsocialized. He would have PTSD episodes where I swear he was seeing things that weren't there, and would be completely on edge for hours but still want to be near me. He mauled me many times because he didn't know how to play gently. Given the choice between fight or flight he always picked fight and I loved him for that so much. He really was strong to the end - it wasn't apparent how sick he was until he literally couldn't breathe.
He was the only thing I could count on, he was always my number one priority, and I trusted and loved him more than any human being.

Help needed:
I don't really know how to write serious posts without feeling like I'm coming off hokey but this is important so I'm just gonna have to deal with that discomfort.
My dad was diagnosed with stage 2 invasive bladder cancer. As of right now we don't have a total quote for his medical treatment, but we've already been struggling to afford the gas to get him to his appointments - let alone that it looks like some of his chemo medications won't be covered by Medicare.
We are hoping to get some help with the costs associated with this diagnosis, so my mom's organized a gofundme. Please help me get some eyes on this, and if you can spare any money I would be eternally grateful.

Dear Friends and Community,
We are reaching out to you with a heartfelt request to support our dear friend, Dan, who has bravely for the past 18months been battling stage 4 bowel and bladder cancer. After a year of intense chemotherapy and radiotherapy, the side effects caused Dan to have many hospital stays away from his family, by helping to keep him fit, well and infection free this will allow him to spend quality time with his family at home, making memories that they all deserve.
At just 38 years old, Dan is a loving husband to his wonderful wife Laura and a devoted father to two beautiful daughters, aged 6 and 15.
Dan's journey with cancer has been incredibly challenging, with one set back after another these included bowel blockages, infections, 3 major abdominal operations, blood clots alongside a missed diagnosis of bladder cancer.
Dans strength and determination are truly inspiring. In May this year Dan and his family were told that Dans cancer was no longer curable, however, his oncologist has agreed for Dan to start on Immunotherapy ASAP, as a family we are thankful to have been offered this treatment on the NHS as we know from data that immunotherapy on the NHS is very rare. We now as a family have a little bit of hope. The care, empathy and support we have had from palliative care and district nurses has been incredible.
Alongside his conventional treatment of immunotherapy Dan is seeking complementary therapies that can provide relief and improve his quality of life during this difficult time. These therapies, however, come with significant costs that are not covered by the NHS.
We are rallying together to raise funds to support Dan and his family in accessing these vital complementary treatments. Your generous contribution, no matter the amount, will make a tremendous difference. It will not only help Dan manage his symptoms and side effects but also give him the strength to continue fighting for the sake of his beloved family.
Please consider donating to Dan's fund and sharing his story with others who might be able to help. Together, we can make a profound impact and offer Dan and his family the hope and support they need during this trying time.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness and generosity.

My uncle was diagnosed with lung cancer in the fall of last year and he lied to my mom and me about it so we had no idea until he took a major turn for the worse in January and we went to see him and spoke with his doctor who told us the truth. She told us that he hadn't accepted treatment for the cancer so by that point it was metastatic (spreading) and probably terminal. He was in absolutely terrible shape when we got there, dazed and malnourished and dehydrated, with an 80-year-old friend of his playing nursemaid, both of them clearly in some kind of denial. I eventually pretty much guilted him into going to the hospital to at least get IV rehydration. The paramedics who came to get him looked absolutely shocked at the state of him, I've never seen PMs show such obvious distress on their faces. The ER doctor at the hospital also went as far as to say that their scans showed that he was "full of cancer" - it had spread to his lymph nodes and from there to his brain, his stomach, his bladder, and even an area around his heart. She was putting together a plan for him to consult with his GP who we'd spoken to earlier as well as other specialists and he seemed receptive, but when I woke up the next morning my mom told me he had basically gotten really ornery in the night and insisted on being returned to his friend's place. He was a little better after being rehydrated but he was still super weak and frail-looking, it was so scary to see him like that when he'd always been strong and sturdy and seemed in such good health. I honestly didn't know what to do. After a few days we went back home (4 hrs away in another city), and we weren't even sure if we'd see him again because the prognosis was so bad. Eventually he decided he wanted to go get the PET scan his doctor had ordered for him months ago after all, and when she told him that at this point it wouldn't really tell them anything new and that she couldn't recommend he put his body through the 6-hour drive to the facility where the scan would be done, he somehow got it into his head that she didn't want to help him, or was conspiring against him, or something. So he went and got the scan and finally had incontrovertible evidence of the cancer and finally agreed to get chemotherapy, which has allowed him to keep hanging in there until now, which is great since we didn't know if he'd even make it to March back then. But he's so out of it (cancer brain) that he forgot that the chemo was only meant to stretch out his time a little, let him get his affairs in order and all that, and doesn't understand why it's not fixing him. He insists that the doctors are keeping secret experimental treatments from him and wants to have a consultation with a private clinic - a consult that costs almost $1000 just to talk to the doctor there on Zoom. I obviously don't want him to just give up and I understand that he's scared and grasping at anything. I really do understand. But part of me is so, so, so angry with him for not getting treatment when it was still possible to put the cancer in remission. And for talking shit about his doctor when she's gone above and beyond for him. And for making my mom so scared and sad, wondering when she's going to lose her brother. I know that's not fair and I would never say it to his face or anything, but that's why I had to write the long-ass message here, because this anger is festering in my stomach and my heart and I don't know what else to do. I'm scared and sad, too. This man was like a father figure to me growing up and we've had our differences and I may not always like him but I do love him. He's my uncle and I don't want to lose him and I'm so furious that maybe this could all have been prevented if he had just listened instead of being so stubborn. I don't want him to leave us. I don't know what to do.

Two Years Summarized.
This is lengthy because OMG 2022-2023 have been a cluster-F until this month.
I had big plans in 2022, but then we got notice I have to pay back the "no strings attached" money I (and millions of others) had received in 2021 because I'm "not a contributing member of society" according the IRS. That took months to pay back; I later learned that virtually everyone on SSI and SSDI were forced to pay that back.
Then eviction notice without cause, had to find a new home, no affordable rentals with contracts were available, so we had to buy one. Thankfully, there are programs for first time home buyers, Disabled home buyers, and all sorts of other programs to help. There were major hiccups though, one of which cost us $500+ in food.
Husband got a new, and well-paying, job, but contracted covid because it's a kitchen and no one wants to wear a mask. Covid tore through that kitchen, and no one seemed to care. We were sick for weeks, and my case was especially bad, lasting almost three months. The long term effects of exhaustion (both of us), brain fog, chronic eustatian tube dysfunction, and possibly developing POTS, have been something we've learned to live with.
One of our cats, Jasper, had fallen gravely ill in 2021 from a mystery illness, and we had to open a Care Credit account in order to afford treatment. We're still paying that bill. He never made a full recovery, and exactly one year, right down to the day, he was sicker than ever. At the vet, we learned he had cancer, and had lost half his weight in three days. We had our baby boy, age 16, humanely euthanized. My eustatian tube dysfunction reared its ugly head the next day because of how much I was crying.
It was not a good year.
2023 has been filled with it's own cluster-F. In February, my husband was experiencing intense pain, but refused to go to the hospital due to not having insurance. Then he woke up with a serious case of jaundice. Off the ER we went, and it was there he was diagnosed with diabetes type 2; his blood sugar was 652. That's deadly. He had an ultrasound to see what was happening in his gut, and we discovered his gall bladder was packed with stones. There were so many, they were being pushed out to make space for more. He had emergency surgery to remove the three stones in his bile duct, and we were informed he needed his gall blader removed immediately. Except that wasn't possible because he had to get his blood sugar under control and recover from this surgery first. We filed piles of paperwork to have as much of this bill forgiven as we possibly could. Two of the six bills were wiped out, and only a few days ago were we able to pay off the rest, thanks to the person who purchased the large quilt that had been in my shop.
The hospital itself was a wreck. The kitchen kept sending him applesauce and fruit juice, which were marked as DO NOT SEND THESE. Not a single nurse or doctor was wearing a mask, and they whined when we refused to let them near within 10 feet of us. After that, we knew we would have to transfer him to a different hospital because this place was incompetant.
He had to quit his job, doctor's orders. It was, in fact, killing him. Applying for new jobs had to wait for several weeks due to recovering from surgery, and he was denied Unemployment Insurance for ridiculous reasons. Neither of us had the energy (exhausted is an understatement) nor mindset (anxiety, stress, exhaustion, pain) to appeal the decision, but we did anyway. Twice. Denied both times. He was finally able to get a new job, which pays well enough but doesn't provide the hours he needs. It does, however, provide insurance and is significantly less demanding than working in a kitchen.
After several months of hard work with going for daily walks, a drastic change to his diet (virtually zero carbs and sugar), he was able to get the surgery he needed to remove his gall bladder. His work insurance covered the cost, and the hospital we opted to have the surgery at forgave the entire bill. There was only one bill because everything is under a single business instead of the way the other hospital functions, which is a bunch of private contracts and services that happen to work in the same building.
Over the summer, our water heater broke. It was 20 years old, so it's really no surprise. It simply cost us $3k to buy it and have it professionally installed. Yay for monthly payments! Our homeowner's insurance took $500 off the bill, but it still hurts. We also learned we need our plumbing replaced because the guy who owned the house before us was a landlord and installed illegal plumbing. The short version is it needs to be replaced and will cost ~$12k and our insurance doesn't cover this. The home inspector also didn't see it because the landlord had covered parts that were supposed to be exposed. To get this done, we need to make a 50% payment first. LOL!!!!!!
Then, in September, we received a court order for a hearing about his previous Unemployment Insurance. Money he received from 2020 to 2021 (because everything was closed) was now being challenged. Turns out we weren't the only ones dealing with the massive hiccup. Thanks to a supporter here, we were able to acquire legal aid and this whole thing was waived in October, aka we won the court case.
Now, at the end of the year, in the final two weeks, things are finally calming down. All the medical bills are paid off, and that was at the top of the list of worries. We still have the Care Credit bill to pay, and interest is collecting. I know selling just one of the three major quilts I'm gonna finish over the next three months will cover the bill, but that depends on someone buying it. For now, it's just us paying a little more than the minimum to keep the interest from growing too much. We also have the water heater that needs to be paid off. My hope is, by this time next year, we have these paid off. That'll make it possible for us to save money to get the plumbing replaced.
Here's to hoping 2024 is a gentle, boring, kind, and uneventful year. A year of paying off these two major debts by June so we can focus on saving money for new plumbing.

we had another loss here.
early Monday morning Fate passed away. she was an almost 21 year old cat that was starting to show her age so it wasn’t unexpected, but happening less than a month after we lost Furb really hit hard, especially when you consider it’s been less than a year since we lost Sir Francis the drake too (followed by Frosch passing in her sleep then hawks getting Nine and Sweetie Pie) on top of the stress with dad’s cancer diagnosis and health complications related to all that.
we’re also getting ready to fix up the apartment side of the house so my dad and I are both in there and we can rent out the main side of the house to help pay for dad’s medical bills. my friend I give rides to work to is going to move in on the house side for the same cost per month as her current place since it benefits everyone that way. we can help her more and she can help us. it’s going to feel weird but it’s the best option right now.
that said, dad’s had another bladder scope and he’s still looking cancer free. we’ve got three more months of maintenance treatments lined up and then we’re going to see his urologist again and decide if it’s worth it to do more or not considering his insurance doesn’t want to cover them near as much now that he’s cancer free even tho his doctor thinks he should have at least 12 once a month treatments just to be careful.

By Peter A. McCullough, MD, MPH
Have you every watched a commercial on television for a new medication indicated for a rare disease. Dr. Gina Loudon mentioned to Dr. McCullough on American Sunrise by Real America’s Voice that she has never heard of some of these diseases. I can tell you that orphan drugs are for diseases with >100,000 cases in the United States. Therefore, most will not even register the expensive commercial in their minds. For example, this ad for Padcev a treatment for advanced bladder cancer. In 2022 there were 81,180 new cases of bladder cancer in the US, accounting for 17,100 deaths. Many would think this drug is better presented in the advanced cancer center and not for the entire public on national TV or YouTube.
Loudon believes the new administration may issue an Executive Order banning direct-to-consumer advertising of branded pharmaceuticals. This would save costs for the drug companies and hopefully lower the price of drugs for the rare consumer. This and much more on American Sunrise November 19, 2024.

Awareness of prostate cancer in India has increased, leading to earlier detection and improved treatment options. This article provides important information about the symptoms, diagnosis and cost of prostate cancer treatment in India and a detailed overview of some of the best hospitals for this treatment.
Symptoms of Prostate Cancer
Prostate cancer generally causes a variety of symptoms, which can vary from person to person. Common symptoms include:
It is difficult to urinate or poor drainage
Frequent urination, especially at night
Blood in urine or semen
Painful ejaculation
Persistent pain in the back, hips, or pelvis.
These symptoms may not always indicate prostate cancer, as they can also be caused by other benign conditions. Therefore, it is important to consult a healthcare professional for a proper diagnosis.
