An Open Letter to Psyguy (aka @BitPolarGame)

[Before I start, let me shoot down this defense right now, Psyguy: I have not been in contact with Tara, Jess or anyone else that called out your abuse. There's literally no collusion invloved; this is all me and my own words. If any of the victims want to add anything, though, they're free to do so. With that out of the way, let's move onto the juicy part under the cut!]

First off, why am I writing this? Why do this if there's no way he'll read it or even pay attention? Mainly, I'm doing it for me. I feel it's unhealthy to leave these thoughts bottled up so I'm putting them into writing and getting it out there. It's also about 3 in the morning as I finish typing this. Rather than let it fester and cause me anymore anxiety and stress, I'm posting it so that it's out in the open and free from my mind.

So Psyguy, how have you been? Remember me? I'm a former fan and the person who ran the Wha-Chow! Soundboard soundcloud account before I stopped supporting your sorry ass when I found out you were a pedophile! I've noticed you came on to some hard times at the beginning of December; you haven't uploaded or streamed anything since then AND you've set your Twitter to private. Now, I completely get not wanting to post content and taking a hiatus for a period of time, I've felt like doing that a couple times as well. But setting your Twitter to private as well? Now that seems a little suspicious doesn't it? Let's feed those suspicions by dropping this bombshell: This "hiatus" and radio silence lines up eerily well with a certain tweet from a certain former friend made a few days prior, Psyguy. Man, that must have REALLY hit you hard seeing someone you've known for years, someone who stuck up for you and blindly defended you from the poor poor women and undergae girls slinging "slander" and "lies" your way finally listen to what they've been saying and writing and deciding FOR HIMSELF to cut ties with you, Psyguy. If you're smart, you've probably been reflecting on that tweet and maybe even considering what he said at the end and finding "a way to make things right with those he hurt, as well as himself." but let's be real, you've never been particularly smart in situations like this if all you've made are non-apologies and excuses at best and, more realistically, a bunch of hot air and wasted lines. You know, Psyguy, it's not really smart of someone trying to build an online presence as a content creator to set their social media accounts to private or even not post content for an extended period of time like a month or more. Hell, it might as well be career suicide at that point! What I'm trying to say, Psyguy, is the longer you're on this "hiatus" the more people stop giving you attention and begin to forget who you are until your online handle is brought up months or even years later. That's one of your biggest fears, isn't it Psyguy? You're afraid of the spotlight fading or being on someone other than you! This is probably why it pains you to not post any videos or streams AND private your Twitter!

So let's move on to probably the one thing people know you as currently that probably haven't known who you were before: why am I calling you by your original handle (Psyguy) instead of the one you made as an insult and bastardization of a mental disorder that one of your former victims suffers from (BitPolarGame)? Because you don't deserve to be called by that handle...at all. You've made no effort to improve and no real effort to try to make it up to the multiple victims of over a decade of your abuse! Essentially, you don't get to move on while the victims don't get so much as genuine apology or ANY kind of closure! You know what happens when you search 'bitpolar' on Google or Twitter? The search engines think that it's a misspelling of 'bipolar' instead...funny how that works.

If Psyguy happens to decide to read this, then that's a plus. I'm also gonna post this to a twitlonger so he can't make the "Tumblr drama" excuse that he likes to throw around for anything callout-related. And that's it! I've said everything I've wanted to. If there's anything else I can think of then I'll probably make another post down the line. Or not! Frankly I can't be bothered to put much more energy into a waste of time like Psyguy...aka BitPolarGame. My mind is a little more at ease and that’s what matters with this.

It’s been a while since I’ve brought this up on this hell site BUT I feel like perhaps someone should refresh the sonic community here. Especially since I have some mutuals who reblog sonic content. If you see a user named BrinnStar? Do NOT support that user. He is known pedophile and abuser Bryon Beaubien. He along with Dave Smith (CrikeyDave, a known animator) were both outed for their predatory nature. I have a document with a TON of info on it I’ll link at the bottom of the post.

I’ve had my scrape with Bryon previously, and I don’t quite know how many of the original people involved with the callout are still fairly active on here so I feel like it should be brought back up for safety. I do not want this man to have a foothold in a community I love, and I sure as fuck never want to see or hear him again.

Making an announcement that Superpsyguy, known for being a terribly abusive pedophilic person who has hurt multiple women in the past, has decided to make a new account under the name BitPolarGame, @BitPolarGame on Twitter. Do not let him get away with starting a clean slate. He has not earned it. Do not let him repeat this all over again. DO NOT LET HIM. He has done nothing but write a bunch of half-assed "apologies" that are more for his looking good.

Look. In June, when the Psyguy Callout began, there were a LOT of people who were abuser apologists and victim shamers. There were a lot of people who had opinions but made asses of themselves in voicing those opinions. Here's the deal. This is not about you. This is about the victims. This is about them getting the apology and closure that they deserve. Closure that involves their abuser confessing to the public that he has lied to about them. No other person other than the victims have a right to a vocal opinion about their abuser's right to a second chance. You were not THERE. You did NOT experience the pain and humiliation that they went through. You do NOT carry the scars that they do. YOU are not a focal point. THEY are. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but that does not mean that your opinion, ESPECIALLY one that dismisses the victims, is WELCOME. They got enough of that back when Psy was actively ruining their lives. Support for the victims is always welcome. Calling for Psy or any abuser to confess and apologize is always welcome. But harassing or insulting the victims or making an ass out of yourself will always be shot down, no matter your intention. If you're not involved, hush. And for the record, this movement, while encouraging people to know how terrible of a person Psy is, recognizing his abuse tactics, and pushing to get him to come out about his history of abuse and apologize publicly to his victims.....we do NOT advocate threats against Psy or his family. Yes, he is an awful, terribly abusive and manipulative lying prick, but we are about closure, not violence or harassment. The ball is in HIS court on how long this movement continues.

My thoughts on Psy claiming he's going to therapy

Let me just get this out of the way first.

I 10000000% do not believe him.

I want to believe him, don't get me wrong. I want to believe that he acknowledges that something is wrong and that he has to change. But I don't. And I can't.

Only a few days ago, Psy tried to come back under a different name, BitPolarGame. He offered another non-apology, one that I'd argue was worse than his previous ones. After doing so, he blocked us and anyone else who called him out. He also blocked us on his new BitPolarGame twitter.

He originally promised that he was going to be deleting his accounts and leaving, because he acknowledged that his presence did more harm than good. He also promised that he was going to therapy. Not a month later, he got his twitter account back from deletion. Less than 2 months after he said he was leaving, here he is again, throwing another pity party and blocking the people he's supposed to be apologizing to. Then he has the nerve to IMMEDIATELY create a new account for himself and try to be popular again by doing Let's Plays.

Now.

I want everyone to THINK about that for a minute.

Because that should be setting off alarm bells.

That is NOT the sort of thing a truly remorseful person does.

When Tara decided to take it upon herself to help him, she was met with this bullshit in return. I know its a long read, but I urge everyone who hasn't read it already to just go read it, and read all of it. Because his responses to Tara's advice and his "apologies" are pretty telling. It can basically be summed up as "I'm sorry, BUT let me tell you how I feel now" or "I'm sorry, BUT this is how I remember it". Me me me. Lotta dissecting of testimonies, as well. There is NOTHING genuine about that.

He MAY acknowledge that he's an asshole in some ways, but he's still trying to twist the stories to make himself seem like less of an asshole than he actually is. "Oh man, I know I was bad, but not THAT bad!"

I'm not saying its not reasonable to hope that he's being true to his word and actually going to therapy. Its completely reasonable to expect that of him and to hold him to it. Problem isn't that no one wants him to get help and commit to that help, its that he himself obviously hasn't committed to it and more than likely doesn't want to.

Regardless of what is or isn't going on in his life right now, the burden is completely on him to commit to therapy, and to be TRUTHFUL with his therapist. Because as is pointed out here, it is entirely possible that whatever therapist he may or may not be seeing is getting a very one-sided version of the story. Which just enforces this completely wrong idea that WE'RE the ones who hurt HIM. Its not pleasant, but its something we have to keep in mind.

This is not something that therapy alone can fix. He's got to put in most of the effort here and its obvious he doesn't want to do that, because that means having to hear that he did more harm to people than he wants to admit.

And as we've all seen, Psy is obsessed with his image.

I mean hell, he's flipped shit on friends who have tried to help him before, accusing them of calling him "crazy". I'm hardly surprised that he's still not receptive to any actual help. He's probably gone to his family and his enablers for support, who have no doubt been coddling him and thus reinforcing this misguided idea that he's not done anything wrong.

I will believe Psy is being genuine when he gives up on getting his fame back and actually commits to getting help, rather than just saying he is to try to shut people up.

But considering his track record, I doubt that's ever going to happen.

So it turns out that Psyguy is back with another "apology", big fucking surprise, and now is using the name "BitPolarGames". Real fucking classy name, Psyguy. Top notch, picking a name that makes fun of a mental disorder, real cool.

You fucking asshole.

And once again, there are people who are telling the victims to "let their grudges go", or "he says he wants to start over", or "can't you stop talking about this?". Listen, Psyguy DOESN'T deserve a second chance. Not until he COMES OUT and ADMITS what he's done to the people, and actually APOLOGIZES to them, and takes the responsibility for his actions. He has over ten years worth of abuse, and a simple "apology" that's directed to no one is going to be enough to earn him a second chance.

Until he actually acknowledges what's he done and apologizes to his victims properly, I refuse to let this go. His victims are the ones who deserve closure, not him.

Thoughts on Yesterday's Events

Yeah, it was pretty sudden, but man, was it necessary.

That was a long time coming, all of it.

I am 100000000% behind calling out both abusers AND enablers. Not only is it important to ostracize anyone who has inflicted harm on someone else, but to remind the people who COULD HAVE AND SHOULD HAVE DONE SOMETHING and turned the other cheek to it that there are consequences for doing nothing as well. If you're that close to the situation, neutrality is an unproductive, unhealthy, and dangerous stance to take. It gives power to the abusers, never their victims.

Take a look at everything that happened prior to the Psyguy callout.

15+ years of abuse. 15+ years of silence. We were too afraid of being attacked for speaking up, and everyone else "didn't want to be involved" because it "wasn't their problem".

If its not PAINFULLY OBVIOUS how terrible and harmful a mindset that is to have by now, I don't know how I can possibly drive the point home any more than everyone else already has.

No. Hell with that. That needs to be thrown out the window RIGHT NOW.

Yes, all of you, it IS your goddamn problem. You were close to the situation. You enabled it. You CONTRIBUTED to it. You have a RESPONSIBILITY not only to us, but any potential victims in the future to SPEAK THE FUCK UP. Own what you did. Face the people you've hurt.

I've said it before and I'll say it a million times more if necessary.

Its not fucking difficult to own your behavior and do right by others.

All of us have said and done shit that we shouldn't have in the past, or let things slide that we shouldn't have, and we've owned up to it. If we can do it, so can you.

So get to it already. You've had more than enough time.
