"We are all meant to be mothers of God. What good is it to me if this eternal birth of the divine Son takes place unceasingly, but does not take place within myself? And, what good is it to me if Mary is full of grace if I am not also full of grace? What good is it to me for the Creator to give birth to his Son if I do not also give birth to him in my time and my culture? This, then, is the fullness of time: When the Son of Man is begotten in us."
Meister Eckhart (1260-1328)

Alma 5-7: Christ's Atonement and the Mighty Change of Heart
Alma the Younger’s discourses compel us to examine our lives and hearts, urging us toward genuine repentance and change.
Photo by Moritz Knöringer on Unsplash Experiencing a Mighty Change: Insights from Alma 5-7 “Have ye experienced this mighty change in your hearts?” Alma’s profound question in chapters 5-7 of the Book of Mormon is more than just a call for introspection; it’s an invitation to transformative spiritual growth. Understanding the significance of these passages is essential for anyone seeking a…

HER STORY: The Birth of Christ, Anna the Prophet
How long have you been waiting for the longing you have been praying about to be fulfilled? A longing you have felt certain God has invited you to pray about, that you feel certain God has indicated will be fulfilled? #Prophetess #Anna #Christmas
How long have you been waiting for the longing you have been praying about to be fulfilled? A longing you have felt certain God has invited you to pray about, that you feel certain God has indicated will be fulfilled? Anna’s story can be told in three stages: There was tragedy early in her life, then came the temple where she lived most of her life, and finally came the testimony God gave her…

That's the cool thing about art history. I don't remember it clearly, so there might be some mistakes. But overall, there was a time when some people wanted the birth of Christ to be depicted closer to normal one. They wanted to show that Mary was mortal human, despite her connection to divine beeings. To show that after all she had to go through some pain and suffering. It would let people feel more conected. But why isn't it popular? Why there's no representation of that perspective? Well, that's because those people had in mind mainly women. It was feministic. Only those who went through pregnancy would understand and feel that conection. For others it would look unpure, disgusting even. And because church figures that had most power in final decision of this depiction were men, Mary had to be shown as disconnected fron regular people as possible. She was a saint after all. (nevermind stories of different saints)
There were also some depictions of Christ that show him tired, malnourished and very bloody. But nah, let's keep our man beautiful. Oh, and make him buff, because why not.
why is religious Christmas imagery all so joyful and pleasant? where is the inherent horror of the birth of Christ? A mother is handed her newborn child, wailing and innocent. Her hands come away sticky. Red. Simply by giving her son life she has already killed him. He is doomed from the beginning. Her love will not save him from suffering. Because the thing cradled in her arms is not a baby, it is a sacrifice: born amongst the other bleating animals whose blood will one day be spilled in the name of what demands it. the night is silent with anticipation. Mary, did you know? That your womb was also a grave?

Exploring Advent-angels and shepherds
Today is the 4th Sunday in Advent, and it is Christmas Eve. What better day to reflect on the angels who announced Christ's arrival and the shepherds who heard the news.
Shepherds and Angels That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep. Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified, but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior—yes, the Messiah,…

Is Christ The ONE or Should we…
This is a question that has been asked by people from all walks of life, over and over again. It has been answered to the “T”, with clarity throughout the Bible, from the prophets prophesying, to the prophecies themselves being fulfilled in the person of Jesus Christ. His birth, life, ministry, death, burial, and resurrection from the dead have been all elucidated through the prophets and their…

Ahaziah’s Christmas Story
Ahaziah’s Christmas Story: I wondered what it might be like for a commoner (Ahaziah) to come across Jesus in Bethlehem. We know Jesus and the historical and spiritual impact of His birth. But what about a guy going about his business in ancient Bethlehem? Here is what I imagine that make-believe story to be. Ahaziah’s Christmas Story Ahaziah’s Christmas Story starts with Ahaziah walking down…

The Mystery of the Gospel
… that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, (Ephesians 6:19) The Gospel is a mystery. The Gospel (Greek: euaggelion) means “good tidings” or “good news.” The angel brought the euaggelion to the shepherds who watched their flocks by night.[1] It was the euaggelion that the Savior was born in Bethlehem. But what did this euaggelion mean? When the angels departed, the…
