Hey there! Do you know where I could find the pencil versions of the Biometals and the Mega Man (ZX) armors ❓ I've been trying to learn the style, and I've felt like tearing my hair out a few times because I don't know how one is supposed to draw a Biometal. (Emoji is there because my keyboard seems to hate the question mark right now)

Hi, Unfortunately, the ZX series was not lucky enough to get a major artbook, so there is a lot of concept art we have long hoped to see, but has never been officially released. Certainly not to the extent that the vast majority of the rest of the franchise has seen. While the Zero/ZX Legacy collection gave us a little bit in pretty nice quality official art, concept sketches are few and far between. Most of what I am posting here can be seen on the wiki as well. Biometal Model X is basically the only one that got a color turnaround as your best reference, a piece that was seen in strategy guides and other spots in the past. These are all I can screenshot to assist with:

We know there is more out there, as people who attended the 20th anniversary event in Tokyo back in 2007 took pics of some concept art that was framed and viewable:

But great quality, detailed scans or digital releases? Sorry, sadly just not out there yet. Hopefully one day...

Mega Man has the goofiest fucking localization changes with names sometimes even if changing Rock Man to Mega Man was a good cool but I really think the funniest fucking thing that spanned across two series unintentionally was the fact they had to change VAVA to Vile since there asses in the states couldn’t get away with a clear Star Wars inspired character without too much copyright and that caused the domino effect later of them NAMING a fucking dude in Japanese Dr Vile and went “shit we can’t have people be confused- let’s rename him Weil and have it be German so it’s pronounced the same as if kids playing this game will know this and also just think he’s Wily due to the spelling”

Hey there! I've noticed you draw a lot for Star Force and ZX. Do you have any tips for A. Drawing Omega-Xis' head B. Drawing the Biometals because they are somehow REALLY HARD TO DRAW and C. Any particular design elements the ZX characters have❔ (Emoji because my keyboard hates question marks)

well these are important questions so ❔ is necessary here XD

anyhow, i hate to disappoint you💦but i don't have any tips to draw them.

when i want to draw more accurately, i just use their 3d model

i could tell you how i usually sketch omega-xis head

the most important thing is to draw his snout (?) first just so you know where he is facing

Well, today I learned that in the Mega Man ZXA manga, Aile in her Model OX form appeared as the final boss. Too bad the manga ended right after her reveal, so we'll never know what happened.

Would have loved to see Aile wreck everyone's shit.

For research purposes, where do you think X and his children (sans Volnutt) were sealed away prior to being uncovered? :3c

OH BOI OH BOI FINALLY SOMEONE ASKS THE QUESTION. But there’s also gonna be a fun backstory to give context how and Why.

The biometals actually serve another purpose aside from granting powers to their holders. It’s also a storage device, preserving their souls and the data of individuals that their models were based on, keeping them safe. Essentially, they were equipped with a special layer of security to keep their minds from being altered and “awakened” if their user was long dead, essentially keeping them in a dormant state. However, the individual whose soul is inside the biometal isn't exactly 100% aware of their surroundings or anything. Kind of a state of dreaming in a way so they would have brief recollections of those events.

There were plans to find a way to resurrect the heroes of old, but at that point, they didn’t have the resources. They eventually forgot about it. Leaving the Guardian’s biometals in a specific facility to keep them safe within Terra.

But with the exception of 3 specific biometals that were stored in Elysium. Obviously, it’s the Models X ,Z, and A; through unknown reasons, Models Z and A disappeared for unknown reasons probably back at Terra, only leaving Model X left in Elysium’s custody, essentially making the crown jewel. When the master became the last human. At one point, something weird happened with the system: an unknown “glitch” that resulted in the creation of Megaman Trigger by utilizing X’s DNA and data from the biometal itself. To produce the strongest protector for The Master. Without anyone noticing there’s a bit of a theory that X was low key conscious but it’s unknown.

However, since the master discovered where Trigger’s data came from and what the system did, it gave him an idea. Recalling attempts to “resurrect” the heroes within the biometals. Through careful planning resources and a DNA sample from Trigger, the Master was able to bypass the security protocol, and with a stroke of luck, he was able to get X’s mind and soul out of the Master system quietly to transfer somewhere on Terra safely. That way, if Trigger stumbles upon the facility, the only way to awaken them would be to help his family adjust to Terra and help him protect Terra.

The reason why he did it is simple: he wants Trigger to not be alone protecting Terra and also wants to give the Guardians a second chance. Trigger is going to need someone to be there for him and vice versa. That way Trigger wouldn’t be all alone protecting Terra for certain danger. In terms of where they are located…well I did say that the Au takes place right after Legends 1 after all so…Who could have said that They stumbled them in a nearby island or something more fun ;3.

Last year I made some Escáloz and Elmet arts using the biomentals from Mega Man ZX biomentals, and now (As part of the Ibis Paint tests), I have decided to do the same with Polaris :D
