You can smell the chlorine in the mothafuckin air down here in Gwinnett County, GA. They just tried to downplay this Biolab chemical explosion. I had to go to court today and my eyes, nose, and mouth are itching. You can TASTE the chlorine.

Letterkenny goes to college
Yesterday evening my son told me that he'd noticed a small, inobtrusive sticker on his lab partner's laptop that said, "Pitter-patter." So of course we started trying to figure out the best way to introduce Letterkenny-style dialogue into a biology lab. After several iterations we hit on a call-and-response improv:
"ReCORDin' the DAta, Buddy!"
"Gotta have that DAta, Buddy!"
"Findin' the MEAN, Buddy!"
"Rippin' those p-values, Buddy!"
and at that point, Son's cadence and accent were so on-point that I collapsed, laughing too hard to continue. Buddy.

Lab-Created Bird Flu Virus Accident Caused by Risky ‘Gain of Function’ Research
USA TODAY reports: “This exclusive article is adapted from former USA TODAY investigative reporter Alison Young’s forthcoming book “Pandora’s Gamble: Lab Leaks, Pandemics, and a World at Risk,” which will be released April 25. In this excerpt, Young reveals for the first time details of a December 2019 lab safety breach involving one of the world’s most infamous lab-created “gain of function” viruses – and the efforts that were made to downplay the event, avoid notifying health authorities and oversight bodies, and keep the public and policymakers in the dark.
Inside the high-security Influenza Research Institute at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, two experienced scientists were pulling ferrets out of their HEPA-filtered cages on a Monday in December 2019. Another researcher, still in training, was also in the room to watch and learn.
One by one, the animals were put into a biosafety cabinet, where a solution was washed into their nostrils. It’s a procedure used to collect evidence of infection, and this particular experiment involved exposing the animals to a highly controversial lab-engineered strain of H5N1 avian influenza virus.
The virus they were working with that day was far from ordinary, and there should have been no room for the safety breach that was about to happen and the oversight failures that followed.”
Read more about the “lab-made bird flu viruses that alarmed scientists around the world.”
Take Action! Ban Gain-of-Function ‘Biomedical’ and ‘Biodefense’ Research!

One of my favorite pieces of Byler evidence is that Mike treats El the same way he would treat Will.
Like how in S3 he tries to regulate how much El uses her powers, saying that she’s putting herself in too much danger. The problem is, El hates that. She loves her independence, and being able to make decisions about her own body, since that was something that has always been taken away from her.
Will, on the other hand, never stands up for himself. Mike knows that he would sacrifice himself for the greater good without fuss, and needs someone to tell (or demand) him to stand down. Will needs someone to assure him that the weight of everything isn’t on his shoulders alone, and to protect him from people who will walk all over him.

greetings ladies et al.
this took me months, 3 drawing program switches (and subsequent almost losing/corrupting the whole almost finished file), many in-game field research expeditions, and honestly more literature review than i expected to make, but by jove if i cant go way too hard infodumping botanical and biochemical information to make a speculative biology "thesis" for no reason, then what can i do
written as presented by my silly hearthian xenobiochemist oc, jet :-)
also comes in pdf form for your convenience
slightly bc i saw this [eote/dlc spoilers] speculative biology post from @ms-marz and got inspired
thank you for coming to my TED talk.

random thought but there was once this couple in my junior year biology class who were really sweet towards each other & always laughing with/teasing one another and i honestly couldn't tell if they were a couple or really good best friends (until they confirmed they were a couple later on lmao). and that's honestly the goal for all my fictional ships/hope for my irl serious relationships tbh
