I saw Nezha 2 with my cousin today!

That movie is so fucking good! It's amazing! It looks beautiful, the story is great, it's funny as hell, and it destroyed me emotionally!

I should've been prepared for the gut punch, but it didn't register with me until it was happening that Li Jing is safe cause he's got a be the pagoda king eventually!

I was so excited see Nezha's brothers and I can't wait for them too meet!

And then Nezha and Bing! I love those two so much and I want them to take on the world together! I want happiness for them! They're so cute and I love them!

And of course, a substantial amount of my interest in this movie came from seeing the posters with this queen on them

I have watched Nezha 2019 twice before, once on my own and with my cousin as part of a Chinese mythology animated movie bender last summer, so I was already super excited to see there was a sequel, then I saw Ao Run (I initially thought she might've been one of Bing's sisters cause I couldn't read the poster) and I was even more excited to see it!

She's a bad guy, but I love her.

Also I squealed when I saw the golden staff over the sea, I was the decaprio pointing meme, cause I'm pretty sure that's the Ruyi Jingu Bang. It's a big golden pillar in the ocean, what else could it be?

Anyway, Nezha is a good fucking movie and it absolutely deserves all the praise it's getting! It's so pretty! Absolutely gorgeous! Go watch it! You will be happier

Dedicated to the friend who demanded I read the thing for literal years. Now we can scream together. Hooray.

Еще хочу кое-что добавить по поводу пятого сезона, ведь он вызвал у многих сомнения.

Первое. Того кого показывают нам с Нэчжей является не Эрланг Шэнем как многие могли подумать, а никем иным как отцом самого принца.

Изучая прошлое Нэчжи мы узнаём о его появлении и родителях. Мать Нэчжи зовут Госпожа Инь, а отца Ли Цзинь.

Госпожа Инь вынашивал в себе плод около трёх лет и рожала три дня и три ночи. Однако когда Ли Цзинь увидел то что она родила то разрубил это пополам своим мечом.

Но что же она родила? Лотос. Возможно это звучит странно но так и было, а потом из этого лотоса появился сам Нэчжа.

Углубляясь в его жизнь мы узнаём ещё о Ао Бине, сыне Ао Гуана, царя драконов и Восточно-Китайского моря. Ао Бин является к Нэчже чтобы спасти город от его огня и всё такое.

Однако, если читать путешествие на запад там указывается про Красного мальчика который дрался с Сунь Укуном, но на первый взгляд по его описанию кажется будто этот мальчик был Нэчжей хоть это и не так.

Красный мальчик является всем известным Красным сыном, однако в бое с Царём обезьян описывают:

"Их дуэль была долгой, Красный мальчик атаковал Сунь Укуна пятью повозками (не точный перевод) каждая из которых отвечала за одну стихию" ��опрошу на этом пока остановить и прочесть внимательнее. Мы имеем дело с пятью повозками, даже представления нет что это, верно? Но возвращаемся к трейлеру пятого сезона лмк и видим что на этот раз Мк и его друзьям предстоит найти некие пять камней и ещё видим что упоминаются четыре (пять) великих зверей из двадцати восьми лунных стоянок (28-сю), это звёздное небо Китая, а так же что камни добываются из них. Возможно Красный мальчик при использовании так же огня самадхи(!!) пользовался этими пятью камнями, которые кстати упоминаются в третьем сезоне, когда Мэй встречается с Красным сыном ближе, у него дома. Возвращаемся к отрывку : " Сунь Укун не мог справится с огнём и сбежал в лес, где потом Красный мальчик нашёл храм Гуаньинь и сел на её трон в позу лотоса, но трон превратился в алебарды ударяя Красного мальчика причиняя боль, но он взмолился Богине отпустить его. Гуаньинь отпустила его и излечила раны, но Красный мальчик напал на неё, из-за чего при помощи божественной ленты (шёлка) разделённого на пять частей, на его руках ногах и шее образовались обручи похожие на те что был у Укуна на лбу. В этот раз у Красного мальчика не получилось избежать наказания и он стал помощником Гуаньинь после чего ушёл с ней в Небесное царство"

Из этой истории можно понять что своим видом Красный мальчик очень похож на Нэчжу и при воспоминании про три (четыре) кольца самадхи мы узнаём про то что Красный сын ещё во младенчестве носил точно такие же как и в рассказе обручи на руках, ногах и шее. Кстати, прошу заметить, я не указал в отрывке, но при бое между Красным мальчиком и Укуном, он использовал некое копьё что снова напоминает Нэчжу.

Возвращаемся к Нэчже и понимаем что о нем больше сказать нечего.

Далее идём к отрывку где Ли Цзинь опять одевает обруч на лоб Укуна, только теперь он выглядит наоборот.

Как и почему, мы сейчас узнаем.

Этот обруч имеет некую форму лотоса потому что его создал (?) сам Ли Цзинь, либо же Нэчжа при помощи своей лотосовой силы.

Они разные, потому что первый обруч одевал монах, Тан Сюанъцзань, при помощи сутры либо Гуаньинь либо своего брата, Нефритового императора.

Наверное это были единственные моменты которые я хотел бы рассмотреть.

I also want to add something about the fifth season, because it raised doubts among many.

First. The one who is shown to Nezha and me is not Erlang Shen, as many might think, but none other than the father of the prince himself.

By studying Nezha's past, we learn about his appearance and parents. Nezha's mother is called Lady Yin, and her father's name is Li Jin.

Lady Yin carried the fetus within herself for about three years and gave birth for three days and three nights. However, when Li Jin saw what she gave birth to, he cut it in half with his sword.

But what did she give birth to? Lotus. This may sound strange, but it was so, and then Nezha himself appeared from this lotus.

Delving deeper into his life, we learn more about Ao Bing, the son of Ao Guang, the king of dragons and the East China Sea. Ao Bing comes to Nezha to save the city from his fire and all that.

However, if you read the journey to the west, it says about the Red Boy who fought with Sun Wukong, but at first glance, from his description, it seems as if this boy was Nezha, although this is not the case.

The Red Boy is the well-known Red Son, but in the battle with the Monkey King they describe:

"Their duel was long, the Red Boy attacked Sun Wukong with five wagons (not an exact translation), each of which was responsible for one element," I will ask you to stop at this for now and read more carefully. We're dealing with five wagons, we don't even have an idea what it is, right? From this story, it can be understood that the Red Boy looks very similar to Nezhu and when we remember about the three (four) samadhi rings, we learn that the Red Son wore exactly the same hoops on his arms, legs and neck in infancy as in the story. By the way, please note, I did not specify in the passage, but in the fight between the Red Boy and Wukong, he used a kind of spear, which again resembles Nezhu.

We return to Nezha and realize that there is nothing more to say about him.

Next, we go to the passage where Li Jin puts a hoop on Wukong's forehead again, only now it looks the other way around.

How and why, we will find out now.

This hoop has a certain lotus shape because it was created (?) by Li Jin himself, or by Nezha with the help of his lotus power.

They are different because the first hoop was worn by a monk, Tang Xuanzang, using either the Guanyin sutra or his brother, the Jade Emperor.

These were probably the only points that I would like to consider.

It is very exhausting being in western fandom spaces sometimes. Tell me why I just wanted to enjoy a cute oubing ship vid on tiktok, and half the comments section was about people saying you can't ship them???

I wanna complain into the void, so here's a comprehensive of why Oubing/藕饼/Lotus Root Cake is fine (and even if it wasn't, why I don't give a shit):

(Spoiler warning for Nezha 2)

1. "You can't ship them cause they're brothers'": No, they are not brothers. Not by any definition of the word. Not by blood - not even sworn brothers technically, because they only refer to each other as best friends. They each have their own parents - those parents are not related to each other in any way, shape, or form. One of them is a freaking dragon, an entirely different species. Also, they're technically made of lotuses now. They weren't raised together either. Clarifying this point feels ridiculous.

2. "But they used to be part of the chaos pearl": If you wanted to define them by any type of relationship, they are soulmates. This is not me trying to spin them romantically, I mean they are literally soulmates. Their spirits are each half of a single Chaos Pearl, and they each represent opposite halves. They are literally soulmates and yin and yang.

3. "But they're children!": Are they three years old? Yes - and also no. (this is edited: I saw an official post that did say their ages were 3, not 6). They've been alive for centuries as a chaos pearl. I need you to understand that the original entity we saw at the beginning of Nezha 1, IS a creature that has been alive for thousands of years. They had personality too while they were fighting Taiyi. They were made into the pearls by the cauldron. Now, their mortal bodies as we understand it, is 3 (again edited. I originally said 6 cause I wasn't sure whether or not to count the 3 years of pregnancy). But because they're not really human, and their developmental stages therefore don't mirror a human, the movie shows them maturing into an adult form in the span of about 3 years. How do we know this? Ao Bing is the same age as Nezha, and he went from a baby to his adult form in those 3 years. The only reason Nezha is still in a child form is because he has the qiankun circle suppressing him. This is also the reason that putting the circle on his wrist releases his adult form. Also it's sort of maybe implied by the end of Nezha 2 that he may stay permanently in his adult form, since he reformed his body into it while he was in The Soup™. I dunno how accurate this part is so I suppose we'll see by Nezha 3. I would like to point out further that no three year old talks or acts like they do. Ao Bing and Nezha have very complete vocabularies, and are able to understand the complexities of their circumstances. They're both new to the world in this form, but they're not at the mental capacity of a 3 year old. It's like if you were dropped into a new form of existence with an adult brain.

4. "Nooo, why are you shipping them now": This ship is NOT NEW. It's been around since at least 2019. It is WILDLY popular in China. Back when Nezha 1 first came out, oubing literally won an award for best couple. I want you to understand the scale - from my understanding, they beat wangxian in cql. Y'all can correct me if I got this part wrong because I can't find the source of where I read this information, but if it's true, that's wild. I know the award part is correct. There was an official shampoo ad that reads like a shipping comic. Now that Nezha 2 came out, it is still one of the most popular ships. Every other post on my social media has been about Nezha 2 and at least half of that has been Oubing. There are over 2000 chinese fics on ao3 currently. Stop with this "why are you shipping them now", WE'VE BEEN SHIPPING THEM.

5. "It's not canon.": Not that I give a shit what's canon or even what the original creator thinks about shipping usually, but Jiaozi, aka the director of the movie, has stated that while he wrote Nezha and Ao Bing to just be a friendship that he thinks it is fine if people ship them. I'm pretty sure he also said something along the lines of 'people can interpret things how they want' or something.

6. Even if all of the points I made were not the case, I cannot stress enough how little I care about what someone should or should not ship. If you don't like it, just block the fanart/fic/video and move on. I promise society will not crumble because someone decides to ship two fictional characters from a mythology movie. We will be fine.

(Also if you see anyone in the chinese fandom write 藕饼cp, the cp stands for "couple". Just to clarify. They use different terms for shipping in chinese fandoms, they'll say they "ke CP" aka ship a couple)

Some of the comments I've seen make me wonder if people have even watched the movies. 'You can't ship them cause they're brothers', god don't make me laugh.

Don't let them find out that the chinese fandom is also shipping Ao Bing and Nezha from the 1979 cartoon, they'd lose their minds.
