Let me tell you
When Billy Hargrove held his first born son in his arms
It changed his world
All his priorities
His brain chemistry
It changed everything
He looked down at his son and saw his own big doe eyes looking back up at him
He smiled and saw your smile beaming back up at him
He loses his breath as he realizes this baby
This perfect little creature is a mixture of all your best parts
All of his self loathing starts to fall away
And he realizes how wrong Neil was about everything
This little angel in his hands is pure goodness, pure light, pure…
That’s it
He’s just pure
He’s uncorrupted by all the evil in the world
And Billy must have been like this once too
He’s not going to let what happened to him happen to his kid
His son
The path ahead is strong and clear, and he’s going to do everything Neil never did and more
He’s going to be the person he needed so badly when he was younger
He’s going to be a real, good, proper dad to his boy
He doesn’t really realize how much he’s crying until you lean over to brush away his tears
You smile at him and he knows you get it
Everything he’s thinking and feeling and realizing
He becomes this beacon of pure, healthy masculinity
A perfect set of footsteps for his sons to follow in
Because once you have one baby boy
There’s probably going to be at least three or four more
I’m not going to lie
When he finds out Steve is aiming for six kids his competitive streak would flare up a little
He’d probably be trying to talk you into having six kids too
All boys of course
You tell him you have no control over that and he just chuckles and rubs his hand over your tummy
“Call it a good guess.” with that smirk that makes your legs shake just looking at him
God
Anyway either way
Billy 1000000% has a whole passel of rowdy little boys that look up to their dad and love you more than either of you knew was possible
I’ve seen a lot of people say Billy would work at a garage
Which I can totally see
But I think Billy would probably work at a gym
He works out so much he’d make a great personal trainer
Plus he speaks the gym bro language and can flirt the pants off a milf
Which is like 90% of the people going to gyms anyway
So every day when he comes home from work and loudly declares “DADDY’S HOME”
He’s met with a stampede of rambunctious little boys charging at him
When they’re still little enough they cling to his arms and legs and back as he drags them over to greet you too
When they’re older he’s met with enthusiastic cries of “DOGPILE ON DAD!”
Every single day he greets you with a kiss that reminds you why you married him
And every single day it’s met with loud EEWs
If you’ve seen overboard
The 1987 version not the remake
Dad Billy is just Dean Proffitt core
That’s the best way I can explain it
And if you thought Billy was protective????
Now you have like five more of him
If anyone is giving you trouble
Especially if you have family that you don’t have a good relationship with
Before you can even ask them to leave you hear a rumble behind you and some mixture of “LEAVE OUR MOM ALONE” “CHARGE” and “GET THEM”
What follows is a coordinated attack of nerf guns plastic swords and water guns
Among many other toy weapons
And that’s before Billy even shows up
You think he’s protective now???? Wait till you’re married
Oh my god
Billy would never ever let anything or anyone hurt someone he cares about
But especially not his fucking spouse
If someone tries to fuck with you they must really have a death wish
On a lighter note the odds of you also having a bunch of equally high energy pet dogs is also very high
And the odds of you acquiring these dogs by Billy periodically showing up with them
Sometimes as a puppy sometimes just one or two full grown dogs
And going “surprise :)” is even higher
Max is over a lot too
Partially because she just loves being around you and partially because spending time with Billy is actually really nice now
They have the sibling dynamic they’ve both been craving for so long
And all of your boys think aunt Max is the coolest person to walk the earth
She teaches them how to skateboard and helps them beat hard levels of video games
Oh my god and the stories????
Your boys LIVE for listening to their dad tell stories
Stories about how you met, about dorky uncle Steve and how bad he is at basketball (he’s embellishing a little but you’ll let him have this), about all the monsters he and aunt Max and your friends have fought, all the cool stuff you did before they were born
Seriously, Billy has a knack for raising some of the bravest, most compassionate, big hearted little boys in the world
They have such a healthy relationship with masculinity and what it means to be a man all cause of their dad
He raised them to know that there’s no monsters in the world they can’t fight
And more importantly, none that he won’t fight for them until they’re ready
They never have nightmares
Between how many big loyal dogs you have and who their dad is????
You and your boys have never felt safer and more secure
And all Billy ever wants is for the people he loves to feel safe around him
He sleeps well at night too, knowing he’s taking care of you guys
That he’s become everything he never dreamed he could be

Tiptoeing through the “Raising the Dead” guest cast.
Frank Military as David Kessler Before he was electrocuting Sam, drilling Deeks’s teeth, blowing up the team in Mexico and coming up with the band of streaming serial killers (still an open storyline), Frank Military was a working actor.  He had guest roles in Miami Vice, C.A.T. Squad, Superboy, The X-Files, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, CSI and Windfall.  Appeared in a few feature films as well.
I checked out the AV Club review of “3”, The X-Files episode with Military.  They were not a fan but it is a retro review (it wasn’t as good as Buffy – well, Buffy wasn’t on in 1994).  Their look at Military’s character John:
“The trio of vampires that Mulder tracks down aren't exactly Anne Rice heavy, but they are pretty tedious. The only one we get to know at all, John, looks like he just got thrown out of a Creed concert. During interrogation he spouts the usual religious rhetoric, and in one of the ep's few cool moments, Mulder doesn't buy it–believing John's faking his condition, Mulder has him put in a cell with a high window. The sun rises, and John burns. Later on he comes back, which is about the only interesting thing he manages to accomplish, even if it a little vague.”
The Creed concert line has some real truth to it.
Izabella Miko as Michelle Boucher Played Raja in The Cape and Katya in Chicago Fire.  Appeared in episodes of Deadwood, Chaos, Love Bites, Law & Order: SVU, Supernatural, Anger Management, Scorpion, The Mick, Criminal Minds and The Hunters.
Angel Parker as Secret Service Agent Alicia Monroe Was Tasha Davenport in Lab Rats, Shawn Chapman in American Crime Story, Alex Green in The Strain, Heidi Baker in Trial & Error and Catherine Wilder in Runaways.
Guest roles include Angel, Criminal Minds, ER, Eli Stone, The Young and the Restless, The Closer, Castle, Hannah Montana, Days of Our Lives, Soul Man, Sean Saves the World, Gang Related, Rebel, Teachers, Rel, 9-1-1: Lone Star and The Rookie.
Parker in her trailer.
Matt Peters as FBI Agent Michael Rudolph Was in Joel Luschek in Orange is the New Black and appeared in episodes of Weeds, Santiago, Rush Hour and Superstore.
Bojesse Christopher as Deputy Warden Max Fielder Played Billy O’Connell in Picket Fences and Det. Richard Kitting in True Detective.
Guest roles include Married with Children, Ferris Bueller, DEA, Silk Stalkings, Quantum Leap, Beverly Hills 90210 (1994), Unhappily Ever After, Pacific Blue, High Incident, Land’s End, Good vs. Evil, Strange Ones and Deputy.
Christopher provided multiple photos of his time on set with this Instagram post.
Daryl Crittenden as Randy Sinclair Played Chris Bowman in Heroes.  Guest starred in Nip/Tuck, The Young and the Restless, Torchwood, Friends with Benefits, Desperate Housewives, CSI, Franklin & Bash, Black & White, Justified, Days of Our Lives, Hart of Dixie, 2 Broke Girls, Hench, Criminal Minds and Hot in Cleveland.
Critteden also had a few photos with an Instagram post.
Adam George Key as LAPD Officer Harrison Back from “Murder of Crows” last season.  Key co-wrote “Monster” with Frank Military.
Jason Medwin as Prison Guard #1 A rather large fellow, Medwin appeared in episodes of How I Met Your Mother, Torchwood, Scandal, Shameless, Baskets, Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, Glow, Lethal Weapon, Jane the Virgin, Single Parents, Euphoria and The Kominsky Method.
David Proffitt as Prison Guard #2 Guest roles in General Hospital, Veep and SWAT (2020).

Winner!!! The Grey Conspiracy - Best Short Thriller
Tumblr media
I am thrilled to tell you this. We just had our World Premiere of "The Grey Conspiracy" at the Culver City Film Festival on Sunday (Dec. 9th). During its Award Show last night it was announced that we had won “Best Short Thriller”. It was an honor to direct such an intriguing script having powerful characters in a decisive confrontation. Even with my small part in it, I’ve been stopped in the lobby of the theater to be complimented on my role in the film. I am amazed at all of the positive feedback we are receiving. I've just been told it has a 10 out of 10 Stars on IMDB.
Tumblr media
The World Premiere event was quite the spectacle. Cast and Crew were on hand for all the excitement.

Following the screening, Director Paul Overacker took part in a panel discussion along with other filmmakers. Paul spoke about the challenges of his production, both self-imposed and those that come in the production process. “We Wrote, Produced and Cut this film within 48 hours and almost zero funding. That alone creates its own problems, people will take a paying gig over volunteering. I understand that. It just makes us step up to the challenge and support the others doing the same”. Rodin Eckenroth, a professional Photographer stepped in as our cinematographer in a moments notice someone failed to show. Her work is getting noticed, she was recently nominated for Best Cinematography on our film "The Grey Conspiracy" at the 2018 Top Indie Film Awards! Amazing work for a first-time Cinematographer.
Tumblr media
The film was a labor of love for everyone involved. Starring a talented cast of incredible actors. Tammie Baird (Twin Peaks, Fear the Walking Dead), Roberto Garcia (Sons of Anarchy, NCIS: Los Angeles), Billie Proffitt (Mind of Mencia, The Dead Undead) and James DiLullo (Conan, Hula Girl). All of them bringing the level of drama to a nail-biting conclusion. The production team also came with a serious production background on some very high-level films and shows. Editor - Fred Brown II (A Star Is Born, La La Land, The Predator, Wonder Woman), Sound Editor - Dave Barnaby (Captain America: The First Avenger, RED 2, Missing, NCIS: New Orleans), Sound Mixer - Gabriel D. Chacon (2018 World Series, 2017 World Series, Child of the '70s) and Makeup Artist - Melissa Epstein (Magic's Biggest Secrets Finally Revealed). That is just to name a few.
Tumblr media
I can guarantee this was not the work of one person. This whole project was a team effort. Without the input of each and every person on this production, it would not have had the same level of success. Everyone took their craft to heart and did not hesitate to give it their best effort. I want to thank everyone involved in helping make this film, it was an absolute joy to work with each and every one of them.
Tumblr media
It just so happens exactly one year ago to date, our other short film “The Same Conversation” had its premiere at the very same Festival. That film has gone on to win numerous awards. My goal when we produced this was to Premiere at the Culver City Film Festival. Why? It’s not the biggest, not the most renowned, or most publicized. The reason I wanted to go here first was that it’s great for truly independent filmmakers, Its local to everyone involved and we get to see their work at the Cinemark Theater.

Overboard (1987)
Amnesia and romance are old companions in narrative art. Garry Marshall’s Overboard is one entry in that long-standing relationship beset with clichés and predictability. Overboard, too, dabbles in those same clichés and is also a bit predictable. Nothing about this film is surprising. But what elevates Overboard above many of its 1980s romantic comedy peers is the natural charm of its central performances and its delightful jokes. The film stars Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell in the real-life couple’s third and most recent film together – after Swing Shift (1984) and The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band (1968; Hawn has a cameo) – and, by some distance, their best work together. The screenplay by Leslie Dixon recalls the great screwball romantic comedies of the 1930s and ‘40s (I’m not a fan of humor that combines cruelty and raunchiness, so this approach appealed to me) updated somewhat for the ‘80s. It all combines to comic, even heartwarming, results.
The heiress Joanna Stayton (Hawn) is the arrogant, haughty spouse of Grant Stayton III (Edward Herrmann). While their yacht is docked off Elk Cove, Oregon, handyman Dean Proffitt (Russell) is hired to remodel her closet. Joanna, giving no directions to Dean before he took the job, is furious when he uses oak instead of cedar. The two spout their frustration at each other, ending with her tossing him off the departing yacht without compensating him. Later that night, Joanna falls overboard, is fished out of the water by a garbage ship, and awakens in the hospital with amnesia. Dean, hearing about the news, has revenge on his mind, and seeks to have Joanna work around his house and for his four disorderly sons (Brian Price, Jared Rushton, Jamie Wild, and Jeffrey Wiseman) by posing as her husband of thirteen years. Joanna Stayton becomes Annie Proffitt. But vengeance turns into love, and Overboard handles this as compassionately and as respectfully any film that would attempt such a conceit can.
Overboard’s characters also includes Joanna’s mother, Edith (Katherine Helmond); the yacht butler Andrew (Roddy McDowall); and Dean’s best friend Billy (Michael G. Hagerty). Garry Marshall’s favorite character actor, Héctor Elizondo (who appeared in all of Marshall’s directorial works), has an important cameo as the garbage scow skipper.
Going into Overboard, the opening twenty minutes or so are like something from a Preston Sturges or Billy Wilder screwball comedy. The lifestyle porn might not be as flashy as one might expect from a gazillionaire family (if Overboard had the budget of a James Bond movie, Garry Marshall should have poured half that budget into decking out the yacht with ridiculous technology and 1980s gold-plated Trumpian/Gordon Gekko opulence), but the very fact that there is a yacht, several waitstaff, and a snooty couple always calls for a gate-crashing character. Enter Dean – so repulsive, so horribly dirty to Joanna – as the Sturges-esque everyman given a backwoods twist. As the foil, Dean schemes to exploit Joanna’s amnesia and to humiliate her – as someone who despises unnecessary nastiness in comedies, my internal klaxons were sounding – which may prove to be overwhelming for those who often feel for a character’s secondhand embarrassment Overboard dangles perilously over the chasm of Stockholm Syndrome, only to be saved by what Joanna brings to the narrative (I imagine some readers will disagree with me here, and that is fine).
Leslie Dixon’s (1993′s Mrs. Doubtfire, 2003′s Freaky Friday) screenplay assures that Joanna finds her own goodness by the force of her own nature. Dean hurls personal and physical insults towards “Annie” in the early days they are together, so she is finding very little solace there. The chores are backbreaking at the Proffitt household, with clothes, toys, and appliances strewn across the ground and on the furniture. She receives little to no help there but will become better at these chores she has never had to complete herself. The film’s harshest critics claiming that Dixon’s screenplay is undermining a strong female protagonist by having her endure all this abuse and discover herself through housework are missing the point – Joanna was never a strong character to begin with and housework is not what makes her transform into the woman she does become. Invoking one’s wealth to denigrate others – no matter how wittily, no matter how implicitly – is insecurity epitomized.
Where Joanna begins to find her own sense of belonging and inner strength is when she hears how the four Proffitt boys are being mistreated and talked about by their teacher. The sons have not been very hospitable to their “mother”, either, so one could say that Joanna – amnesia aside – has no obligation to help them. But she finds the courage and the words to stand up for the four boys in a way that their father never has, calling the teacher an, “anal, compulsive Hun”. She continues:
And my children may be rotten, but they’re mine. And I think that they’re bright and sensitive, so I have no doubts whatsoever about their intelligence.
This is where Overboard turns from its revenge plot and never looks back. She has forgiven her sons (no quotation marks needed there) for their countless flaws. As the film can find the inner beauty in Joanna, so too can Joanna see it in the four rambunctious children she is taking care of. This care, thankfully, is not a one-way street, as the children and even Dean realize that she is setting an example for them to follow, that there will be expectations even in forgiveness and an act of defense. After this point, the charms of Hawn’s and Russell’s chemistry finally pay off and pickier viewers can feel a bit more comfortable at laughing at the slob humor of the film’s opening half. They transform along with their characters as they learn when to give and when to take. The changes come gradually – there is never any instant awakening from Joanna; Dean has zero idea how to be a father to his sons and not just a friend. Where they may have been on different terms and opposing wavelengths before, they now commit to struggle together. When one notices those changes, the film’s sweetness is infectious.
As with any romantic comedy, good times will last (eventually), but there will always be a final interruption before the protagonists can resume with the happiness they have built. Overboard’s iteration of this is unsurprising (as are the entire film’s structure and plot developments), but comes with some concise, considered words from Roddy MacDowall’s character of Andrew (of course these lines were delivered by an outstanding character actor with a lengthy career mostly behind him). Together, director Garry Marshall and screenwriter Leslie Dixon may not have created the funniest – which I have not commented on much here because spoilers in movie reviews set unrealistic expectations on comedies especially – or even the most well-meaning romantic comedy. Do not think too much about John A. Alonzo’s mediocre camerawork and Alan Silvestri’s distractingly dated, banjo-and-electronics blended score and Overboard will be a pure delight.
An inconsistent decade of moviemaking disappointments and successes followed for Goldie Hawn as she became less comfortable with the changing winds in executive Hollywood and would begin to increasingly dedicate herself to her eponymous non-profit foundation. For Kurt Russell, a decade of masculine consistency with films like Backdraft (1991) and Tombstone (1993) helped shape the public persona he retains today. The late Garry Marshall continued to direct and produce comedic films until the end of his career. For Marshall, he considered Overboard one of the funniest films he ever directed. I am not one to disagree as the screwball familiarity of Overboard’s formula is helped by the earnestness of its performances and strength of its (eventual) messages.
My rating: 7.5/10
^ Based on my personal imdb rating. Half-points are always rounded down. My interpretation of that ratings system can be found here.

omg, please write more of the pretty woman au!!
I would literally be honored. while we're on the topic of 80s - 00s romcoms (aka my favorite genre) billy would also make an AMAZING dean proffitt from overboard. anyway back to call boy!billy my beloved
you're on the phone, arguing with Nancy about the Driscoll deal you've been working on for months. you're finally starting to make progress, some real progress, and Nancy is thrilled. she's telling you that you should go in for the kill, seal the deal and force the old bat to sell. you're about to tell her there might be a slightly less agressive path you could take, but your thoughts stray when you see Billy enter. his chest is still exposed, but this time he's wrapped up in a fluffy hotel robe. he blinks, curls messy from sleep and glowing gold in the morning sunlight.
"uh, yeah... sure. oh, by the way about your car..." you trail off, watching Billy enter the room, distracted by his softened edges still fresh from sleep. "it corners like it's on rails. call you back later." you ignore her protests and hang up the phone as she continues to call your name. you can sense his hesitance, which is unexpected from him.
"you didn't wake me and you seem busy, I can-" he gestures to the door, ready for a speedy exit, but you cut him off.
"no no, there's no rush. here, have something to eat, you must be hungry." you say, guiding him to the table with a knowing chuckle. you were so worn out and relaxed after last night's events you actually managed to get a few hours of sleep. you begin to remove the silver lids, exposing every breakfast food imaginable.
"I wasn't sure what you like, so... I ordered everything. help yourself." you say with a smile. he picks at a pastry, wandering and taking in the penthouse.
"did you sleep okay?" you ask, shuffling through some papers, earning a chuckle from him.
"too well, if you ask me. I forgot where I was."
"occupational hazard?" you ask, earning another laugh, and he agrees. he wanders back over to the table, sitting on the edge and positioned to look at you. you're in a silky sleep set, all champagne colored with lacy hems. your eyes flick between him and the contracts you're looking at. he looks good like this, you think, by your side.
"how 'bout you?" he asks, now around a mouth full of pancakes, "you sleep okay?" he watches you closely as you answer. you're so composed, so put together.
"for a few hours, on the couch." you say, continuing when you see the look on his face. "I was working." it's a flimsy excuse, one all your exes have been on you for... as long as you can remember. instead of being chastized, you're met with another one of his sweet breathy laughs.
"okay," he starts, "you don't drink, don't do drugs, don't party, don't even sleep... what do you do?"
"Billy..." you let out a laugh disguised as a sigh. you weren't expecting to be called out so early in the morning from anyone besides Nancy. his gaze is unwavering, and you relent, beginning to explain the nuances of your business and how you run it. you expect to bore him to death, you barely get a few sentances in before most people's eyes glaze over, but he listens with rapt attention the whole time. he could listen to you talk for hours, he thinks. that's why he hadn't interrupted you on the phone earlier. he's not sure if it's the cadence of your voice, or the words you use, or something else entirely, but he's never heard anything that pretty. from the countless clients he's had screaming his name, he's never found it to be so pretty to hear than coming from you.

The Wonderboy - Jared Rushton
Born on March 3, 1974, in Provo, Utah, USA, to parents Monica Rushton and an unknown father, Jared Ruston was raised along with his sibling Ryan, who now is a musician by profession. The details about the education of Jared are not known and also it is not known whether he matriculated and went to college.
Career Path:-
Most people know the movie “Honey I Shrunk the Kids” and “Overboard”. Jared starred in both these famous movies but he started his career with the TV series “Tales from the Darkside”. The series was aired in 1986 and Jared played the character, Richie. The same year he acted as part of Peter Wade in the series “Cagney and Lacey”. Major Breakthrough:-
In the year 1987, he further added “Lady in White” (as Donald), “Big” (Billy), and “Murder, She Wrote” (Travis Harmon) to his name. In 1989 he again featured in the TV series “Roseanne” as Chip Lang. Then came the major breakthrough “Honey I Shrunk the Kids” which was going to make a huge hit on the screens worldwide and hold the record for five years. Jared Rushton played the famous character of Ron Thompson under the debut directional venture of Joe Johnston who earlier worked as an art director and effects illustrator.
The movie was a blockbuster featuring Rick Moranis, Matt Frewer, Marcia Strassman, and Kristine Sutherland and it became the highest-ever-earner Disney movie ever made. It won the BAFTA award for the Best Special Visual Effects. The sound engineer of the movie James Horner won an ASCAP Award for Top Box Office Films and the movie also got several nominations in different categories.
Inspired by this success, two sequels were made “Honey, I Blew up the Kids” in 1992 and “Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves” in 1997 but Jared Rushton was not a part of the sequels.
