How fishermen catch fish in the Sunderbans
When we eat a very delicious Hilsa fish curry then we don’t get the feel of the dangerous lifestyle of their, For whom we can eat these delicious fish curry. Every day of them passes through a hostile situation. Every moment of their life is filled with life risks. Anyone doesn’t think about them who stands face to face of the terrible sea. So taking this matter in mind, Today we will try to know something about how the fishers catch fish in extreme situations. Means all about fishing in Sundarban.
On a trawler there stays the main boatman and an assistant boatman. For any reason, if the main boatman becomes ill then the other boatman controls the trawler in the deep sea. Except for these boatmen, there also stays 15 to 16 laborers. The laborers who stay in this trawler are locally called “Bhagi”. These laborers do the most physical labor. Because these laborers spread the fishing nets, take up the fishing nets and also these laborers release fishes from the fishing nets and put the fishes in a specific place. The money that is earned by selling these fishes in various fish markets all over West Bengal is used to pay all the due bills. After paying all the due bills the remaining money is divided equally among the labourers or Bhagis.
Let’s know this division.
The whole money that is earned through selling these fishes, 6% of this goes to the shopkeeper of the fish market because he sold the fishes by calling an auction.
After this the money is used to pay these:
The cost of diesel.
10 - 12 days meal cost for 15 - 16 physical labourers.
The cost of buying ice.
After paying all these bills the 8% of the remaining money goes to the main boatman and 60% of this money goes to the fishing boat owner. Then the last money goes to the labourers. They divide the whole money equally among themselves. The main boatman also takes one part of this.
You would be more surprised when you would know that one day the main boatman slept while driving the trawler and then in the meantime, the boat could not handle the push of rolling. The assistant boatman also could not handle the boat from drowning. So the boat capsized. When this accident happened 4 labourers were sleeping closing the door of the boat cabin. They all could not come out of the cabin. All the labourers died inside the cabin.
Those who were outside the cabin, One of them also died only by entangling in the fishing net. Because underwater, Taking yourself out from any net is very very challenging. But these laborers are too much careful that when the fish boat almost drowns due to the 1-floor tall wave of the sea then they bond themselves using fat and strong rope. After the wave passed the boatman counts all the heads to make sure that all the laborers are fine and not float.
But the situation becomes more miserable when a tornado like Ayla and Amphan crashes. At this time their chance of return is very low because it has many obstacles. If they return home without carrying any fish they would be facing the business owner’s anger. Because the owner books the boatman by paying advance since 1 year ago and the boatman books the 16 laborers. But the condition for booking the laborers is that they will be paid after selling fishes. At which time the trawler can not catch much fish so that they can make a profit then the boatman intensionally does not take the trawler to the port.
The boatmen take the trawler into narrow creeks. The creeks are too narrow that entering in a tiger’s cage and entering a narrow creek like that are equal.
The labourers bond the trawler with the nearest big tree to stay safe from storms. And the whole night they light a fire to be safe from Royal Bengal Tigers. The labourers who regularly go to fishing can recognise the smell of “Tiger-skin”. If anytime they get the smell of a tiger then they start to play the dishes loudly. But if the attention of Dakshin Ray (Local name of Royal Bengal Tiger) falls on anyone then after climbing up on the trawler in front of all, the tiger carrying the person on his back blends into the darkness of the jungle of Sundarban with a long jump.

Binisutoy: This New picture shows where the relationship between Binisutoy ends
Binisutoy: This New picture shows where the relationship between Binisutoy ends.
New Bengali Film "Binisutoy" Movie Review:
Web Desk, Trending News Fox, Kolkata: ‘What’s your name?’ - this question can be the beginning of a film or a story. How many conversations start with the exchange of names, addresses, and identities. And by the way, even if there is talk at the beginning, be it in the case of raga-music, or life. But, last? Can the conversation ever end? If the name of the film is Atanu Ghosh's 'Binisutoy', then the answer is positive. Bini-yarn, meaning without yarn binding.
The English name of the film is 'Without Strings'. The two people who come from two different positions in society are connected like loose threads to each other, but they are not connected. When two parallel lives meet at any point for a short time, many possibilities open up, what a lot of stories can be created from there! In fact, Atanu Ghosh's picture goes ahead by capitalizing on the idea of this story. The necessity, the importance, the nature of the story - many such commentaries come up in fragmentary scenes and contexts. But the quality of the story, as well as the subject matter, depends a lot on the story-telling. Which is a bit disappointing in the case of this film.
Also, Read Ritwick Chakraborty: "If Politics Is An Alternative To Artists, It's A Danger To People Now"
The film begins with the words of the Russian writer Dostoevsky: "For the secret of man being is not only to live but to have something to live for". The first scene that appears on the screen after that is a big long shot of a huge tree, a bicycle going through its floor. Ritwik Chakraborty's voice can be heard in the commentary in the background, "Every day someone comes to wake us up. When it will come, it is not known in advance. But he will come. ”This uncertainty is not only about the man’s arrival, but also about his identity. We do not know for sure who will come. This amazing uncertainty surrounding human identity is the focus of this film.
Sraboni Barua (Jaya Ahsan) and Kajal Sarkar (Ritwik Chakraborty) were seen auditioning for a reality show titled 'Ke Paabe 50 Lakh'. Sraboni is quite a numb, timid young housewife. When he is asked to say something about himself, he is in a lot of trouble. He walks in front of the camera without noticing while making videos of others. All in all, she is quite incongruous on the audition set. Kajal, on the other hand, is quite agile.
When Sravani suddenly fell in the open field, he took her to the hospital and after first aid, he drank tea. They both deal with their confidence as they choose to embark on their play activities. The camera flashes back to the beginning of that particular day, the prelude to their meeting. Then they spend the rest of the day together. At the end of the day, as expected, they return to their homes.

They go back but go back in another form and identity. This is the twist of the story. The director has been confused for a long time about what the new identity is, what their identity is, or the real one. What happens at the end is definitely for the viewers, but this conflict of identity is the main fun of the story. Hundreds of years ago, England's most famous playwright wrote: All men and women on the world stage are just actors. Seeing this picture of Atanu Ghosh, this statement can be given even if it peeks in the corner of the mind.
Atanu himself wrote the story of the film. The story is really admirable. In fact, the concept and definition of the story is the main reliance of this film here. Watching the trailer, even at the beginning of the film, it seemed that maybe an extra-marital love affair would be formed between the two main characters in this film as per the conventional chart. He also had enough materials or possibilities. But it does not happen, there is no way to know if it develops in the next case. Because the picture ended before him.
Also, Read World Photography Day 2021: The World's 1st 'Selfie' Was Taken 182 Years Ago, Find Out Interesting Things
However, the main problem of 'Binisutoy' is storytelling. The story of the movie depends a lot on the scenes and the dialogue, both of which are a bit weak — especially the dialogue. The beginning of the film is quite mature, it also creates enough expectations. But as the picture progresses, it spreads as a result of giddy and weak dialogue. Several scenes seem to be imposed, such as the scene of Sravani's grandfather's house.
Dada (Kaushik Sen) gets very angry when he sees his sister after some past misunderstandings and tries to get her out of the house. In this scene, Sraboni's grandfather suddenly begins to read a poem written by his grandfather, first by his wife, and then by himself, which seems out of place in the flow of the story, as if trying to force a poetic dimension for the sake of art. Perhaps the fact that 'story' has been given so much prominence throughout the film makes the story-telling weaknesses of the film more apparent.
Although Jaya Ahsan's presence with him did not take his eyes off the screen, his acting seems a bit limited. The facial expressions are pretty much static, unchanging throughout the whole picture. On the contrary, the picture has gone a long way in the priest's usual fluent acting. Kaushik Sen is good in the small role, and Chandreyi Ghosh is good in the role of Kajal's wife.
Also, Read Online Hilsa Fish: Padma-Meghna's The Fresh Online Hilsa Fish! How To Get, How To Recognize
There are some notable frames in the picture that will be remembered even after the end of the picture. For example, an orange placed next to a strange combination of sun and shadow on the railing of an old house, or a shot of Sravani waiting on the floor of a tea shop tent in the sudden rain. In the last frame, the name 'Sraboni' merges with the torrent of rain, and Sraboni literally becomes the symbol of Sravan. Although much of the middle part fell for slow motion and poor screenplay, the last bit of the film is memorable again.
Especially towards the end, a strange soft range is created by making ‘I saw you in the midst of happiness’ in Jaira’s throat. This Rabindragan has also been successful in arranging music as informally as possible. Mixing good and evil, Atanu Ghosh's new film tells a story of different tastes. The cinema hall opened after so many days on him. You can visit 'Binisutoy' once.

As a child Sunday's used to be exciting... Where the routine was so simple and no hustle... Waking up late as there were no worries of getting late for school.. no tuitions... Life was so simple and stress free...
On of my Sunday ritual was to go to the market (bazar) with my father to buy vegetables, fish, chicken for the entire week (as the market place was bit far from our house and it was not possible to visit every day)...
Sunday menu used to be always special as it would either include Chicken or Egg or some other good fish (which were not affordable for everyday consumption like Pomfret, Prawn, Ilish or Hilsa)
I still remember that I used to sit by my mother's side in the kitchen and observe how she marinated the chicken or fish and kept it aside before finally cooking them to some delicious curry.. Even my father cooks tremendously well (may be I got the trait from my parents) and so do my husband...
Coming back to the reality.. Sunday's are still exiting as I get to spend my entire day with Shivang and Aarav (rest of the days I am so tied up with my office work that I am unable to spend quality time with them... And that's a hard fact)...
This Sunday we bought Chicken from the market and my father was not very pleased with that as now a days he does not prefer eating chicken much... So I decided to opt out of the regular Bengali Chicken Curry recipe and try something different... So I thought of making a gravy which will look and taste like mutton curry minus the regular potato...
I came out with an idea of cooking the chicken in an fried onion or Beresta curry... Here is the recipe.. Check it out.. Give it a try and let me know how it came out...
Ingredients:
Skinless Chicken - 1kg (curry cut)
Big Onions - 4 to 5 thinly slices (this is going to be the base of the gravy)
Tomato - 2 (pureed)
Ginger paste - 1 1/2tsp
Garlic Paste - 2tsp
Ghee - 5 tbsp
Bay leaf - 1
Cinnamon - 1stick
Clove - 3 to 4
Cardamom - 3 to 4
Red Chilli Powder - 1/2 tsp
Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder - 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala Powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - To taste
Method:
Marinated the chicken pieces with salt and keep it aside
Take a kadhai add 4tbsp of Ghee let it heat add the thinly sliced onions and fry them till they become dark brown in colour.
Keep the fried onion aside and let it cool down completely
On the same Kadhai add 1 tbsp of Ghee and fry the chicken pieces slightly (do not over fry as it will become tough once cooked)
Make a paste of the cooled down fried onion and keep aside
In the same kadhai add all the whole spice (you will be left with Ghee on the kadhai after frying the chicken pieces. Rest of the cooking will be done with that Ghee only)
Once the whole spices starts splattering add the ginger and garlic paste and fry till the raw aroma is gone
Add on the fried onion paste and cook for 5 mins
Add on the tomato puree and salt and continue cooking till the rawness of the tomato is gone
Add all the powder spices and cook till the spices leaves oil (you can add some water to avoid burning of the spices)
Once the spices are cooked properly add all the chicken pieces and keep cooking until the chicken pieces are 80% cooked
Slowly the gravy colour will change to dark brown then you will get to know that the gravy is nicely cooked
Add some water at that stage (to your desired gravy consistency) and cover it and give it a nice boil for 10mins
Check the seasoning and turn off the heat
Garnish with some green chilli and serve it hot with steam rice, fried rice, pulao or roti... Believe me it is such a side dish that goes well with all.
Enjoy!!

India is such a vast country with varied eating habits and ways to prepare the same dish in many different ways. If the southern states are known for Hyderabadi Biryani, Masala Dosa and Chicken 65, the states in North India drool over butter chicken, Rogan Josh and Amritsari Kulcha. But one state knows fish like no other in India: Bengal. They are the connoisseurs of fish. And fish, unlike any other meat, is very tricky. Not every fish tastes nice. Best fish to eat, and those to keep away from
Fish is a wonderful supply of coronary heart-wholesome lean protein. Dining on one or servings of fish as your protein each week can decrease the hazard of coronary heart assault with the aid of using nearly one-third. That’s as it includes coronary heart-wholesome omega-three fatty acids, which decrease triglyceride degrees, in addition, to assist lessen infection for the duration of the frame and guide mind health.
The omega-three you get from fish – additionally called long-chain omega-3s, EPA, and DHA — are extraordinarily beneficial. But that doesn’t suggest together with fish for your weight loss plan doesn’t have a downside. Many fish species deliver excessive degrees of steel mercury — a risky contaminant that may have an effect on the anxious machine. Pollution has the simplest raised mercury degrees in our oceans, lakes, and streams, and this mercury is eaten up with the aid of using fish and transformed into a toxin called methylmercury. Fish which might be excessive at the meals chain devour different infected fish, accordingly compounding their mercury degrees, that is why it’s quality to pick out smaller fish, decrease at the meals chain, to eat. Farmed fish, which you assume might be safer, also are fed the equal weight loss plan of boom hormones, antibiotics, and different ingredients that aren't observed of their herbal habitat and consequently need to be avoided.
The number one challenge with fish and mercury is in toddlers and younger children, as their growing anxious structures are in particular prone to mercury’s effects. That’s why pregnant ladies and people nursing are recommended to be extraordinarily cautious approximately selecting the sorts of fish to eat. Experts propose pregnant ladies keep away from sea-water fishes like swordfish (myli meen), tuna, and shark and pick out fish that might be observed in nearby ponds like rohu, hilsa, surmai (kingfish), and so forth instead.
Adults who've excessive publicity degrees (that is a not going final result of consuming some servings of fish) can enjoy big important anxious machine harm as well.
Methylmercury poisoning is simply one challenge; fish also can include a toxicant known as polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), an artificial chemical disposed of in water bodies.
