so i met an older very neurodivergent man waiting eagerly outside of the game store. we had a convo and i realized immediately he didn't pick up on social cues very well. it was ok. i just accepted it. and he flagged me down when the store opened as i was about to leave. they opened late. everyone else seemed tense when he flagged me down and even when he walked me in. tense for the simple fact that he was talking to me but if i'm being real here? i was more relaxed around him than i was around the other people. the "normal" people. and i didn't realize it until he left. i felt like i didn't have to perform for him. like i didn't have to mimic "normal" for him because he certainly wasn't doing that for me. and he was also very nice. he was very honest. and straightforward. and i liked that.
