Our Music Ministry was once more given the opportunity to lead the worship during the Bible Sharing of the Parish. It's an activity held every first Wednesday of the month at 7pm opened and closed with a worship service. The Sunday Reading is reflected upon and further discussed into groups. So all you need to do is attend. A very rich opportunity to get to know your co-parishioners and be an affirmation and also be affirmed with the shared experience. Ich sitze am Pool unseres Hotels und frage mich, was wird bleiben von diesem Tag. Es war der erste Tag, an dem wir zwei ganz konkrete BECs besuchten. Nach einem etwas gewöhnungsbedürftigen Frühstück mit scharfem Fisch und Toast ging es mit Hilfe der landestypischen Auslegerboote auf die Insel Bayas. Die dortige Basisgemeinde war so nett, ihre Sonntagsliturgie für uns an diesem Freitag zu feiern, ein Wortgottesdienst mit Austeilung der Kommunion. Statt Predigt gab es Biblesharing. Zum Sonntagsevangelium des blinden Bartimäus wurde die Frage gestellt, was wir an Dunklem erleben und wo wir Jesus um sein Licht bitten können. Jetzt begann das Eintauchen in die Kultur der Menschen, wir wurden eingeladen uns zu den Kleingruppen dazu zu setzen. Da war kein oberflächliches Geplänkel, keine nette theologische Diskussion, da kam das harte Leben zu Tage, die Sorge, wie die Mutter die Familie weiter ernähren kann, die Alkoholprobleme der Männer und immer wieder die große Hoffnung, dass Gott sein Erbarmen schenkt, sowie die Dankbarkeit für die Gemeinschaft in der BEC.

Hängen bleiben wird heute auf jeden Fall die Party auf dem Friedhof. Nicht vorstellbar bei uns, bei ihnen normal. Die großen Steinquader der Gräber wurden als Tische genutzt, es wurde gegessen und gelacht und von da aus ging es am herrlichen Strand zur Abkühlung ins Wasser. Vertreter von zwei anderen BECs waren zu Gast und so waren wir mit vielen Kindern und Jugendlichen nach dem Beten zum Reden und Schwimmen am Friedhof, was für eine Erfahrung.

Der Besuch der zweiten BEC führte uns zu einer Seegrasfarm. Voller Stolz präsentierte uns Fr. Robert den Leiter dieser Company. Vor Einführung der BEC führte er das kleine Unternehmen alleine mit seiner Familie. Dann war er bereit mit den anderen 46 Familien seiner BEC sein Wissen zu teilen. Jetzt bauen sie gemeinsam Seegras in der Bucht an, verkaufen einen Teil direkt, aus einem anderen Teil, stellen sie Chips, Nudeln und Cräcker her. Die Nachfrage nimmt zu und der Preis steigt, ein echtes Erfolgsmodell. Im Fertigungsraum hängt neben der Vision der Erzdiözese für die kleinen Gemeinschaften ein kleiner Hausaltar. Hier wird morgens und abends gemeinsam gebetet. Glaube und Leben gehören hier wirklich zusammen, untrennbar.

Wieder ein Tag voller Eindrücke, voller Geschichten und Highlights und mit der Erkenntnis, dass Glaube mitten im Leben etwas bewirken im Leben von Menschen.

I’m not a morning person but someone told me that when you are suddenly woken out of your sleep early in the morning that is no coincidence , that is The Lord calling you to spend some time with him. He understands how busy we can get and how stressful it is to have to meet so many expectations life requires but how can we get through any of that without one on one time with the one who makes all things? Cast all of your worries , troubles and fears on him and He promises to give you rest in return.
