Last night my little princess dog was attacked and bit by a much larger dog. Spouse and I raced her and her brother (because us leaving him totally alone in a hurry would have panicked him) to the ER. I am understandably devastated and traumatized.

We were sitting side by side waiting to hear news if she would be okay. Holding hands. And I look down through the tears streaming down my face at my white PJs (I had already changed when I took her out) and my hair and my hands covered in blood and whispered,

Oh my god I’m Brian after prom.

(She’s going to be okay. She’s home now, resting, and being spoiled even more than usual. Her brother has been the best boy throughout this and given her space and let her take our full attention. The cat remains the cat.)

Song of the Sea: A St Paddy’s Day Review

More for Halloween than St. Paddy’s Day, but you cannot get more Irish than this film company. (Cartoon Saloon)

Would recommend “The book of Kells” for all the beautiful greenery over this one for the particular holiday, and “Wolf Walker” if you want more action scenes.

Still- 10/10, would recommend to anyone who likes beautiful animated films.

Warning- Do NOT recommend if your name is Ben and you have Mother trauma.

It WILL punch you in the gut and make you sob. Have seen it first hand. Only watch if you need the catharsis. Otherwise you can watch the other two films for the Dad trauma instead 😅

What can I say, they are Irish stories. If they weren’t emotionally complex and a little sad they wouldn’t be real Irish stories.
