Star Trek Insurrection premiered on December 11, 1998. Insurrection was penultimate Star Trek film of the first Star Trek film franchise. It is the only film in the original franchise to not speak or show a Stardate. The events in the film took place in 2375. It was one of the few in either the original or the rebooted film franchise to not have any scenes filmed on or near Earth. It was the last Star Trek film to be rated PG. There was talk of killing Data (Brent Spiner), but the idea was ultimately rejected. This was the second Star Trek film directed by Jonathan Frakes. ("Star Trek: Insurrection", Star Trek, Film Event)

Two or Three Things about “The Cohens and Kellys in Hollywood”
-/-///
“You were foolish to put all your dough in one picture. You gotta invest, spread those eggs about”
Good advice
-/-///—-
The idea of a piano man playing music for the scenes during the silent era is pretty neat.
Maybe it’s true, maybe it’s bullshit. But it has a distinct pleasure to it
-/-//-/—-
There is an overhead camera movement to the ruin of theme song writers that is bumpy and odd and altogether a fascinating mess
Similarly, the final moment of pulling a black cat out of the car engine of a superstitious Irish family is easily the funniest moment of the entire picture

The Goldbergs: Murray and Beverly (Tickle Headcanons)
Tumblr media
Murray is most ticklish on his neck and knees. He usually hates being tickled because he finds it to be highly irritating. He does tolerate it from Beverly during tender moments, but he will get mad at the kids if they tickle him.
Beverly is not super ticklish, but she does love tickling and being tickled because she knows that it is an adorable way to bond with beloved family. And what could be better than spending time with family? She loves to tickle Barry, Erica, and Adam, and she often wishes that they would get her back – but they rarely do. She tickles Adam the most often since he is the baby of the family.
Murray would playfully tickle his kids when they were little, but he does not tickle them anymore. As for himself, he was never tickled as a child. In fact, Murray didn’t even know that he was ticklish until he began dating.
While Beverly is not the most ticklish woman in the world, she does have her weak spots. She is most sensitive on her sides and thighs. In fact, Barry got his sensitive thighs from his mother.
Sometimes, Beverly even tickles her girlfriends (much to their annoyance) with gooses, pokes, and prods, and then teases them about their reactions. This woman dishes out tickling much more often than she receives it. She is always saying things like, "Tickle, tickle, tickle!" while she is getting someone.
Her favorite way to get Murray is to blow raspberries on his neck which causes him to squeal and possibly spout a curse or two. He is likely to tickle her back and cannot help but smile when he hears that musical giggle of hers.

On this day, June 25, 2009, Michael Joseph Jackson went into cardiac arrest in his home in Beverly Hills, Los Angelas. 911 was called after several attempts of cpr was performed. The pop singer was rushed to the hospital, but unfortunately died at 2:26pm PST time. The news of his death shocked the world, as a result, making the dial tone internet crash. A few days after his death, fans started to speculate that Jackson’s physician, Conrad Murray, had something to do with Jackson’s death. After several trials, Murray was finally convicted in 2011, but he only served two years, being released in October, 2013. Murray had his physician license revoked, and is now in Trinidad trying to get it back.
Some years after Jackson’s death, some even started to speculate that his death was a suicide attempt, after the accusation of child molestation has gotten worse, fans started to think he wanted the easy way out. Can’t say I blame him, if I was investigated by the cops for more than ten years, I’d lose my mind.
My deepest condolences to his family, they lost a son, a brother, a boy who just wanted to get some root of his childhood back as an adult. He’s one of the most caring people I’ve ever came across, it was so wrong what this world did to him. People he thought he could call “friends” betrayed him. I feel so bad for him. Whether it was an intentional death or not, I’m glad his soul is at rest now. Let’s not cry because he died, but instead smile because he was born.

What are your recs for woc in historical romance?
Ooh!
So, obviously there's Beverly Jenkins, who writes exclusively Black heroines (I believe all of her heroes are Black as well). My favorites of hers, both of which have great heroines, are Indigo and Forbidden. Sable (edit: it's Through the Storm, the heroine is named Sable) is also really good.
Beverly's heroines tend to be on the quieter side--very rational and determined to NOT be swept off their feet....... and then they are lmao
Grace Callaway has a great book with a heroine who's of mixed Chinese descent (her paternal grandmother was Chinese). Glory and the Master of Shadows--the Opium Wars figure heavily into it, and Glory sort of struggles with her identity as a woman who is of Chinese descent but wasn't raised around the culture (her hero is Chinese). Grace also wrote a novella called Mrs. Peabody and the Unexpected Duke in which the heroine is mixed race (I believe her mother was Chinese).
Adriana Herrera's Las Leonas series (the last book comes out this year) stars Afro-Latina heroines from the Dominican Republic coming to France! The first book has the heroine with a Scottish noble, the second is a sapphic romance--the other heroine is Latina as well--and the third book is going to star a Latino hero in turn. They're so very good, and you can tell that Adriana researches the hell out of them while also making them suuuuper hot.
Jeannie Lin writes books set in Tang Dynasty China. My favorite so far is The Dragon and the Pearl (former emperor's concubine heroine gets kidnapped by villainous hero, cat and mouse dynamic ensues in which he's soooooo mad that , but Butterfly Swords is also really good. All of her heroines are Chinese, I believe; Butterfly Swords has a white hero, though I think that's the only hero in the series that isn't Chinese.
Liana de la Rosa writes books with Latina woc in her Luna Sisters series. They're a lighter touch, kind of fluffy but clever.
The Marleigh Sisters series by Amita Murray is good, and it features heroines whose father was white and whose mother was Indian. They both have a bit of mystery to 'em.
Lisa Rayne's Never Cross a Highlander is quite good--it's a Highlander romance (duh) with Black leads. The hero sort of accidentally kidnaps the heroine, which is hilarious.
One Season with the Duke by Addy Du Lac (she's on here too @thataddylady) is really good! It's a friends to lovers marriage of convenience book with a Scottish hero and a Black heroine. She's an heiress who's sort of being preyed upon by a guy who wants her to $$$, so naturally she just runs off to Scotland with her childhood friend who's hot now and NOBLY marries her and his secret love for her isn't a factor AT ALL.
