GolfToons 48 - Better Lucky than Good

We’ve all experienced luck on the course. The sculled iron that somehow nestles up on the green 6 feet from the pin. Or a shot that ricocheted off a tree back into the fairway. Or the always popular “play it off the ball washer”.

The most incredible piece of luck I witnessed was when my friend hit an errant drive that bounced off a pool cage screening, shot straight up into the air, landed on a cart path and bounced another hundred yards, coming to rest 80 yards from a par 4 green.

He still bogeyed the hole. But that might have gone viral if I had caught it on video.

Day 036

First day with no photos. In DC with my good friends Lia and Kevin and their stupendous daughter Violet. On a previous visit to Minnesota, Violet claimed to be a Rodgers fan, but upon further review, she has switched her allegiance to Johnsonville. Not unprecedented, certainly.

Today I was still feeling a bit under the weather, so after a nap, I went to take Big Boy for a bike ride. It was almost dark, and I got a little bit lazy in paying keen attention, as Rodg doesn't usually chase squirrels and such after dark. He happened to go across the path suddenly after something, and it pulled the handlebars sideways and I went straight over the top of them.

I'm not exactly sure how I walked away with just a scraped knee and bruised shin on my left leg. I had forgotten to grab my helmet, but didn't hit my head, or any other part of my body. Overwhelmingly lucky for my bad dog owner/bike rider self.
