From the moment Marion lays eyes on Tom she is smitten, and when he comes home from the National Service to be a policeman, Marion is determined to win him over. Choosing to ignore the signs Tom is ‘different’, Marion jumps into marriage hoping her love is enough for the both of them. Tom has his own life, with his partner Patrick, and the two must share Tom until Marion decides that just won’t work.

I wish we got more of Patrick’s POV than Marion’s but that’s okay. This is a queer book, with a beautiful mlm relationship, but it’s also a tragic book. There isn’t a happy ending, so do with that what you will.

Also call me a hater. But I did not feel bad for Marion at all. I mean no one deserves to be cheated on, but everyone in her life was telling her that her husband was gay, and she even knew it to be true, but chose to be ignorant and blind to it. And then ruined all three of their lives in the end.
