Sunday brought about a lovely surprise....a spontaneous photoshoot with my dear friend, Beth. I'm always pushing her talents and abilities, not to mention, getting her out of her comfort zone.

There are going to be so many amazing photos from this shoot. We spent HOURS together, and had a couple of REALLY great places to shoot at. I'm excited to see all of them, and show them off. ❤

The window shots from both of these buildings I got to shoot in are just ridiculously beautiful. The composition, contrast, the pose and the expression... it couldn't have been any more of what i had imagined in my mind.

Working with this photographer is like working with an extension of myself. She is aces at making me feel so confident and comfortable. I look at every one of these, and I feel this sense of power. I am so much more than I ever gave myself credit for.

I don't know if I have ever been this comfortable in my skin. Maybe it's the fact that I am actually doing whatever makes my heart happy. Maybe it's because I am able to really see myself now that I'm not constantly trying to see through some intoxicated vision. Whatever it is, I wish I could have seen myself this way sooner.

I will always be the one to tell you that if you ever feel the desire to have a photo shoot done, but feel silly.... Put those feelings aside..or better yet, be silly. And book that shoot. You will smile and laugh and feel like a million dollars when you are done... And somehow, when you see yourself through someone else's view...I don't know..it just makes you feel so much more confident. I know I'm not some super model looking person. I know I could stand to gain like 30 pounds, believe me I'm trying. I know there are about a thousand other things I could point out to tear myself down---- but--- I also know that I am in love with the courage it is taking me to do this. I know that no matter what life has thrown at me, no matter how much extra baggage I carry along with me, I still find a way to smile, and truly appreciate my life. I know that I am making an example for my daughter and I want her to see the person I see in these pictures. That confidence and strength and...dare I say it....but, beauty... that I couldn't see in my self.

This last year has brought me a few crazy turns of events, and some reminders as to why we have to let go of the past. Not just the past situations or arguments...but to let go of the past version of myself. To start recognizing that not everyone is meant to stay, and even though I want them to be a part of my life, I have to let go of the idea that they are anything like their past selves. We all change, and if I expect others to realize that I am not my past, I have to accept that they are not theirs either ..whether that be for the bad or for the good. And of course, I have to let go of the guilt that I carry for cutting people out of my life. Many of the relationships I've had to let go of have been incredibly difficult, because I feel like I've failed in some way. That I am some how responsible for the divide. I have to let go of that guilt. I am not responsible for their feelings. I'm responsible for my own. And as a very important person in my life said, "show yourself some Grace"

And for real, I can't get enough of this gingham dress. ❤️ If anybody ever wants to gift me some poshmark money, lmao, I have a bunch of dresses in my list waiting. 😍

(however, as a side note, I got a few super awesome presents in the mail over the weekend, and when I get home from work, I am going to do a little show and tell. You all are so sweet spoiling me!!! )

And here I am, learning to embrace all the parts that make me ME, good and bad. This choose your own adventure story has a multitude of chances to be horrible...but it has just as many chances to be amazing. It's officially the 5th of September, which marks 21 months since the first clean UA I had after getting arrested. 21 months since the day I could actually FINALLY say I was clean. I've been dealing with alot of consequences from the choices I had made back then, and I'm blessed every day with some kind of reminder of why I stuck to this choice.

I wouldn't be who I am without both the good and the evil. Besides, I really don't see a need to change who I am. ☺️

This was super cool. When I asked to take pictures with this car, I had no idea Barbie would be waiting for me to pose with her.
