Discovering golden triangle tour from Delhi Agra Jaipur India
It was more out of curiosity that we set out to explore the Golden Triangle cities because when they were first recommended a thought that crossed our minds was, "What's so golden about these cities?" So set out we did and were we in for one of the most pleasant and satisfying of journeys that any traveler can take on. Of course, the prospect of being in India, a country known for its splendor, thrills, hospitality and a fair share of misadventures (for the non-cautious) is in itself overwhelming. Add to that a dash of mystery, a pinch of adventure and a touch of exploration and you've signed up for a memorable holiday.
Our journey started at New Delhi, India's capital and the nucleus city of all Golden Triangle tours. It couldn't have been a better start or a greater precursor to the tour. Delhi is a comfortable city, especially for first-timers to India. For those of us who are wary of hitching an elephant ride from the airport to our hotels or running into snake charmers and fakirs, New Delhi is quite an eye-opener and an exact opposite of our pre-conceived notion of India.
The city's comfort with modernity is very obvious. From good transportation to clean roads to a population that appears at ease with foreigners, New Delhi is indeed worthy of being India's capital. But what's the most mesmerizing of its features is how easily the city blends the old and new. When you see buses and cars whizzing past the Red Fort or the Qutub Minar jutting right behind some modern high-rises, what strikes you is the beauty with which Delhi has preserved its glorious past while simultaneously accommodating the new. Neither the new facades and edifices nor the historical ramparts and ruins look out of place. And that's not all; the goldenness of Delhi gets transferred to its cuisine.
Out next stop was Agra where we realized how the hype about the Taj Mahal was understated. The Taj is surreally beautiful. Love and melancholy emanate from every stone, every carving and it's as if the monument speaks to you. You need a complete day to do justice to the Taj. Agra also plays host to a few more wonders such as the Fatehpur Sikri and the Red Fort which may not be among the seven wonders but are good rivals for the Taj.
A trip to Jaipur is what completes a typical Golden Triangle Tour and my, what a way to complete any journey! The sheer contrast between the landscapes and sights of Agra and Jaipur is itself breathtaking. The crowned heads of Rajasthan have left behind such wonders that you can't but envy them. Fortunately, its one place in India where you get to experience royalty just the way the royals did. From being serenaded to pampered to indulged, you'll only be the greediest person alive to ask for more! In addition to being just what a tourist wants Jaipur throws in a few extras such as wildlife sanctuaries, desert safaris and the works.
So it's safe to say we discovered the goldenness in the golden triangle cities. In fact, it was rather obvious from the day the journey started!
The Best Time to Travel to North India
The weather of India is diverse like its demographics. The option to holiday comes with a dish of variety in climate conditions in various parts of the country. Sometime there is a blanket of snow in Ladakh, while the lash of monsoon rains wet the northern zone between July-August. The best time to travel to North India depends on the destinations visited and the climate there. Tourists coming to North India experience three distinct seasons of summer, monsoon, and winter. In most parts of North India, especially the cities of Delhi NCR have extreme temperatures during winter and summer. The North-central region is even more hot and dry. For foreign tourists touring India, the best time to travel to North India is during winters. This is because it is pleasant for day trips. The humid summers are from March- October with mild spells of rain.
Delhi, Agra, Jaipur tour, the Golden Triangle is best made in October to February if you want to avoid the heat. Winters come as a blessing in mid-November to beginning of December. It is pleasant then for an India Golden Triangle tour. By December end, the temperatures tend to dip much below the normal and chilling with 4-5 degree Celsius. Yet, the cold seems never to deter the spirits of the tourists who enjoy the many festivals, fairs, exhibitions, and food fests across the region. Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan has cold nights than the days.
Hill stations have excellent climate during summer months on the lowlands. There is no snowfall in Nainital or Shimla in May-June, yet the climate is perfect for a romantic North India tour. There is fresh air that would allow you to explore the region well without wiping off sweat. The national parks and wildlife sanctuaries are overcrowded with tourists. The animals are always out in the open under the mild sun there. The stunning landscape of Shimla during summer offers a picture perfect backdrop after a little drizzle. Typically even Jammu and Kashmir is paradise in summer more for the cool breeze you would enjoy along Dal Lake. It is hard to miss Jammu and Kasmir during North India tour packages. Popularly called the "Paradise on Earth", the charm and beauty gets enhanced on a sunny day. In winter, you will wake up to find the Dal Lake frozen to the core. The "Shikara" or houseboat experience will be nil between December- January. The popular time of visiting Kashmir Valley is from May- November.
Allahabad and Varanasi are the North-cultural zone of the country. Varanasi is heated up in May-June. The temperatures vary from 35 degrees to up to 42 degrees with dry winds making day trips uncomfortable. It is better to plan for Varanasi from October to December. Moving to Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh, the neighboring places of Delhi, the monsoon is never heavy. The rains instead make these major cities pleasant for a tight night sleep. April to August is however the off season, but good to bag a great hotel or shopping deal at discount prices.
Visit The Three Jewels Of Indian Civilization With a Triangle Tour Of North India
India - The land of many mysteries is probably the most widely used tourist destinations in the world. People from across the globe arrive at India to enjoy a thrilling and fulfilling vacation. India is a potpourri of many cultures and religions. Home to many religions, languages and ethnicity India proudly calls itself "Unity in Diversity".  Indian geography can be as varied since its culture. On the north it's the Great Himalayans, inside south they have serene backwaters and beaches, inside west has beautiful deserts and east have mesmerizing tea plantations and hills.
To get the essence of Indian culture and history you must undertake the famous triangle tour which takes care of three of the very most famous cities of India- namely Delhi, Jaipur and Agra. Delhi the capital of India is mixture of old and new. Delhi has been the throne of several kingdoms. Old Delhi area continues to have the old world charm of Mogul era. It has Jama Majid, Lal Qila and other famous Mogul architecture. Other famous sightseeing choices are India Gate, Lotus Temple, Qutumb Minar, Humayun's Tomb, and Birla Mandir etc. Modern Delhi even offers many swanky malls and buildings which you could get everything under sun. Shopping in Delhi is surely an indulging activity. The famous Janpath market attracts many tourists. Sarojni Nagar, Lajpath Nagar and Palika Bazaar are also famous shops.
Jaipur is the capital city of Rajasthan which is famous as "the pink city". Jaipur includes a royal history which can be still visible inside architecture and culture of the city. Jaipur is known for its majestic palaces, royal forts and colorful culture. The city has many famous buildings and forts like Jal Mahal, which has been constructed being a recreational centre for your royals of Jaipur. Hawa Mahal popularly referred to as "The Wind Palace" is really a mesmerizing building which provides a bird eye view from the whole city. Amer Fort, City Palace, Jaigarh fort, Jantar Mantar and Nahargarh Fort is also another famous architectural marvel in Jaipur. You also must see Sisodia Rani ka Bagh, Govind Ji Temple and Birla Temple. Shopping in Jaipur means a lot of color and vibrancy. You can get handicrafts items, chunri and jewelries. Food in Jaipur is absolutely delicious and spicy. Enjoy Dal-Bati Churma, Gatte ki Sabzi and Kulfi in Jaipur restaurants.
Agra is world famous for Taj Mahal. Built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his late wife Mumtaz Maha, this building is known as the Symbol of Love. It took a lot more than twenty years to construct Taj Mahal. White marbles were brought entirely from Rajasthan to coinstruct Taj Mahal. Other places worth visiting in Agra are Sikandra and Fatehpur Sikri both built with the great emperor Akbar. Chini ka Roza, Itmad-ud Daula, Dayal Bagh, and Mariyam tomb etc. Shooping in Agra is fun. You can get  mini Taj Mahal's as souvenirs, handicrafts item manufactured by local artisans. Food in Agra is Mogul cuisine that's non-vegetarian based. But vegetarians also have a great deal of options to select. Agra's Panchhi Petha will be the most popular sweet shop in Agra.
The three cities are crown of Indian tourism. All three are very connected by air, rail and roadways. There are many tour packages available which specifically focus on theses three cities. April to October may be the best time for you to plan your holiday for that trilogy.

TOP 13 THINGS TO DO IN  JODHPUR
ARTICLE:-  Jodhpur, the second largest city in RAJASTHAN , has a fascinating past. In case you were wondering, yes, it is where jodhpurs got their name from! These unusual pants were designed by the Maharaja of Jodhpur's son, Pratap Singh, and worn by his polo team when visiting the Queen of England in 1897. Jodhpur is famous for its blue buildings, which were originally painted to signify that they were occupied by Brahmins, the highest caste in India.
 1) EXPLORE MEHRANGARH FORT
Imposing Mehrangarh Fort, which rises above the "Blue City", is one of the largest and most famous forts in India. As impressive as it is, as a well-preserved heritage structure, there's so much more to discover inside. The fort has been privately restored and its museum has an outstanding display of royal memorabilia, including about 15,000 items from Maharaja Gaj Singh II's personal collection. It also has the only professional museum shop in India. The cultural performances that happen daily at various places inside the fort, as part of the special focus on folk art and music, are another highlight. Plan your visit with this complete guide to Mehrangarh Fort.
2) RIDING THE JODHPUR FLYING FOX
Adventure lovers can't pass up the unique opportunity to go zip-lining with Mehrangarh Fort as the backdrop. The circuit has six zip lines and takes around 90 minutes to complete. Groups of up to 12 people depart at appointed times. It's located on the north side of the Mehrangarh Fort.
3) RELAX AT JASWANT THADA
This intricately crafted cenotaph (empty commemorative tomb) was built in 1899, in honor of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. It features white marble lattice screens and whimsical domes, while the inside is adorned with portraits of Rathore rulers. It's a peaceful place to relax and enjoy stunning views of the Fort and city. Many tired tourists sprawled on the front lawn to recuperate after sightseeing.
4) WANDER THROUGH RAO JODHA DESERT ROCK PARK
The Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park was developed in 2006, with the aim of restoring the natural ecology of a large rocky wasteland area next to the Fort. Neglected for many years, an invasive thorny shrub overran the park. After the bush was eradicated, more than 80 native species of rock-loving plants from the Thar desert were grown there. The Park extends across 70 hectares (around 200 acres) of rehabilitated land and has a walking trail. It's interesting to explore at different times of the year, as its foliage changes with the seasons.
5) CHECK OUT THE CLOCK TOWER AND OLD CITY MARKET
A trip to Jodhpur wouldn't be complete without visiting the bustling Old City. Many people choose to stay in this area too, as some of the best budget hotels in Jodhpur are located there and have fabulous Fort views. The Old City's famous landmark, the clock tower, stands at the heart of it—and it's still working! Next to it, Sadar Market retains a traditional village bazaar feel. It's chaotic and colorful and sells almost everything, including handicrafts, spices, saris and fabric. If you feel uncomfortable in crowds, you might prefer to take a walking tour rather than explore the market area yourself, as the congestion can be overwhelming. These walking tours offered by Jodhpur Magic and Virasat Experiences are two recommended options.
6) DINE OVERLOOKING THE STEP WELL
An exciting Urban Regeneration Project is being undertaken to transform the Old City back to its former glory, but with a vibrant and hip spin. As a result, Jodhpur has a newly restored yet ancient step well, located just north of the clock tower. Built in the 1740s and called Toorji ka Jhalra, it sat stagnant for years, until the owners of the new heritage boutique RAAS hotel purified the pool and sandblasted the steps. The area around it has been turned into a contemporary square with cool cafes and shops, including a Good Earth home decor store and a branch of Jaipur-based Gem Palace. A private door at the RAAS hotel will take you directly to the Step Well Square. Step Well Cafe has the same owners as RAAS and provides the best view over the step well. It serves Continental and Indian cuisine, plus alcohol. However, its menu is quite limited.
7) STROLL ALONG THE STREET OF THE BLUE CITY
Unlike the crowded clock tower area, the blue part of Jodhpur behind the fort, known as Navchokiya, is refreshingly quiet and devoid of tourists. Don't miss spending some time leisurely strolling along its streets. It's also possible to go on a guided walking tour of the area to learn more about it. You can even stay amid the blue houses: Some of the top options in the area are Singhvi's Haveli, Jewel Palace Haveli, Rani Mahal, and Jaswant Bhawan Homestay
8) TOUR THE AREA AROUND GULAB SAGAR
About 10 minutes walk north of Toorji ka Jhalra step well is Gulab Sagar. This 18th century lake played an important role in Jodhpur's traditional water management system. Not only does it provide a superb spot for photographing Mehrangarh Fort in the background, there are many interesting step wells and temples hidden in the lanes around it. They include Mahila Bagh Ka Jhalra step well and Kunjabihari Temple dedicated to Lord Krishna. You can discover them on this Step Wells and Temples walking tour.
9) MARVEL AT UMAID BHAWAN PALACE
Magnificent Umaid Bhawan Palace, completed in 1944, was one of the last grand palaces to be built in India. The royal family of Jodhpur still occupies a section of it. Most of the remainder has been converted into a luxurious palace hotel and unfortunately, it's off-limits to anyone who's not staying there. If you can't afford $600 or more per night for a room, you can still get a glimpse inside the palace by having a pricey dinner at one of its restaurants or visiting the museum. The museum mostly displays old photos of the Maharaja and his family. There's a vintage watch and car collection as well. If you're into that kind of thing, it's worthwhile going there. Otherwise, you may be disappointed as you'll get to see very little of the palace.
10) TAKE A COOKING CLASS AT SPICE PARADISE
Spice Paradise is a spice shop that's run by a kindhearted husband and wife team (their special masala chai blend has been refined and perfected over the years, and is highly recommended). They also conduct Indian cooking classes, which are hugely popular with foreigners, in their humble kitchen. Along with delicious recipes, you'll get to meet a lovely family and gain priceless insight into Indian culture. If you don't have a lot of time in Jodhpur, do book in advance as classes are often full.
11) SAMPLE SOME INDIAN SWEET
If you love not just Indian sweets but all kinds of Indian snacks, you'll want to visit the iconic Janta Sweet Home, renowned for making some of the best treats in Jodhpur. They're fresh and delicious, and the range is vast. Try the Mawa Kachori, a prestigious dish that originated from Jodhpur.
 12) VISIT MANDORE AND MANDORE GARDEN
Mandore was the capital of the Marwar region before Jodhpur was founded, but now it's in a neglected state. There's an old fort, an eclectic collection of temples and cenotaphs, and a small museum in the Mandore Gardens. The gardens are beautiful, albeit unkempt in places and used as a local picnic spot. They're worth visiting for the fantastic architecture and history of a bygone era. The best time to go is during the week when it's quietest. If you love monkeys, you'll find plenty there! But be careful that they don't snatch your food!

Planning your short weekend trip from delhi to jaipur??
I will be putting together all the information needed to plan that spontaneous trip to jaipur with friends, family and loved ones.
When to visit jaipur
Although the beauty of the place is not going to change in any season, avoid travelling during summer, if you would not like to return like a baked pie.
(Admiring beauty with taking care of your own is a must) so unsurprisingly the best season to visit Jaipur is during the winter months, from early November through to February and this is the height of the tourist season. As most places require exploring palaces and outdoor structures, winter is the season i’ll suggest.
PS: Choice is yours, don’t forget i warned you about the heat.
Places to visit
There’s a lot of beautiful things to see in jaipur. Every place mentioned below has its own history and royalness.
  Hawa Mahal
Jantar Mantar
Jal Mahal
Albert Hall
Amer Palace
Sisod. Rani Ka Bagh
Vidhadhar Bagh
Nahargarh
Patrika Gate
Chowki Dhani
You can get a combined ticket for all the places from hawa mahal counter. This ticket will be valid for 2 days (9am to 6pm).
  HAWA MAHAL
Tumblr media
Jaipur’s most-distinctive landmark, the Hawa Mahal is an extraordinary pink-painted, delicately honeycombed hive that rises a dizzying five storeys. It was constructed in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh to enable ladies of the royal household to watch the life and processions of the city. The top offers stunning views over Jantar Mantar and the City Palace in one direction and over Sireh Deori Bazaar in the other.
There’s a small museum (open Saturday to Thursday), with miniature paintings and some rich relics, such as ceremonial armour, which help evoke the royal past.Claustrophobes should be aware that the narrow corridors can sometimes get extremely cramped and crowded inside the Hawa Mahal.Entrance is from the back of the complex. To get here, return to the intersection on your left as you face the Hawa Mahal, turn right and then take the first right again through an archway. Shopkeepers can show you another way – past their shops!
 Jantar Mantar
Best time to visit Jantar Mantar: The best time of the day to visit Jantar Mantar in Jaipur is noon. During mid-day, the Sun is vertically above and it is easy to understand the process of interpretation of the readings of each instrument.
Jantar Mantar Jaipur timings: Jantar Mantar in Jaipur remains open from 9:00 am to 4: 30 pm, on all seven days of the week. Generally, one can see the whole of Jantar Mantar in 30 to 45 minutes of time.

Set in the middle of the picturesque Man Sagar Lake, Jal Mahal (Water Palace) in Jaipur is a spectacular structure that seems to be floating on the lake’s surface. While planning your trip, don’t forget to book your hotels in Jaipur such that you have easy access to this magnificent palace and other forts and historical attractions in the city.

Jaipur’s cultural beauty is well expressed in architecture and art forms. One of the best ways to enjoy the culture is museum. The best of all museums is Albert Hall Museum. This museum provides exclusive collection of artifacts, objects and other art forms.
History of Albert Hall Museum
The building of Albert Hall Museum was built in 1876 as a concert hall. The museum gets its name from the Victoria and Albert Museum of London, because of the similarity of architecture. The foundation for the building started in 1876, when Prince of Wales visited Jaipur. When the building was constructed, the royals and government did not have any idea about usage of the building. It was initially used as Town Hall in 1880. Later, the King of Jaipur, Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh II suggested to use it as a museum for Industrial Arts. Later, the hall was used for displaying masterpieces of local artisans.
In 1881, the museum was at its prime beauty and people from across the country visited this museum to buy or enjoy handicrafts, artwork and other masterpieces. However, the building was under construction until 1887. Later, the museum started to showcase artifacts and ancient artworks along with budding artist’s masterpieces.
Amer Palace
Nostalgic Amber Fort, near Jaipur in Rajasthan, is one of the most well-known and most-visited forts in India. Not surprisingly, it features prominently on the list of Jaipur’s top attractions. Here’s what you need to know to plan your trip.
History
Amber was once the capital of princely Jaipur state, and the fort the residence of its Rajput rulers. Maharaja Man Singh I, who led Mughal Emperor Akbar’s army, commenced its construction in 1592 on the remains of an 11th-century fort. Successive rulers added to Amber Fort before moving the capital to Jaipur in 1727. The fort was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2013, as part of a group of six hill forts in Rajasthan. Its architecture is a noteworthy fusion of Rajput (Hindu) and Mughal (Islamic) styles.
  Nahargarh
Tumblr media
Nahargarh Fort is located in the Pink City of Jaipur and is one of the many countless palaces and beautiful historic buildings that speak of the magnificent and rich history of this city. Embellished with delicate carvings and stonework, the Nahargarh Fort is an impregnable structure, that together with its two neighbouring forts – Amer and Jaigarh, once stood as the strong defence of Jaipur city. The Fort was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in the year 1734 as a retreat. With some breathtaking views of the city, the Nahargarh Fort is known for its extended wall that connects it to Jaigarh Fort. The fort is located on top of a hill and you can hire a cab or autorickshaw to the foot of the hill and trek the rest of the way.
Nahargarh Fort was primarily used as a retreat for the ladies of the royal household and has a ladies quarters by the name of ‘Zenana’. Also known as the Madhavendra Bhavan, the ‘Zenana’ was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. Its counterpart, the ‘Mardana Mahal’ was also constructed in the complex for the royal men. Another attraction in the Nahargarh Fort is the Nahargarh Biological Park, which is an asylum for majestic animals such as tigers, leopards and the Asiatic lions. The Padao Restaurant is also a must-visit if you’re near Nahargarh Fort from where you’re sure to enjoy a panoramic view of the city of Jaipur.
  Patrika Gate
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Patrika Gate in Jaipur is a famous monument and tourist attraction in the capital city of Rajasthan. Located 30-minutes outside of the city centre, the gate serves as an entrance to Jawahar Circle Garden. And many believe it to be one of the most photographed spots in all of India.
While the gate is just one of the many architectural wonders in Jaipur, the opulent design is genuinely awe-inspiring. And the vibrant and intricate walkways serve as a true reflection of Rajasthani culture. So get your cameras ready, and do not miss this spot when planning your Jaipur Itinerary.
Chowki Dhani
Tumblr media
Chokhi Dhani, translated from Rajasthani, literally means “Rajasthani Culture” and this resort village is a celebration of just that.
Chokhi Dhani is a well-known tourist attraction in Jaipur. The aim of the resort is to give tourists a full experience of Rajasthani culture.
