If your doctor gaslights you for making an effort to research your condition and learn how to best take care of you, then it’s time for a new doctor.
When my mom was diagnosed with cancer and told her oncologists she wanted to try nutrition before chemo or radiation, they laid the fear and gaslighting on thick. Spoiler alert: She healed 3 years later.
This is not to say healing should look one way or the other. All I’m saying is you’re the one experiencing your symptoms, you’re the one living in your body, and you know your body best. When it comes to your healing, it’s YOUR intuition that matters most. Tune in.

Cancer Center for Healing: Comprehensive, Holistic Cancer Care
Holistic Approach to Cancer Treatment
At the Cancer Center for Healing, the philosophy is rooted in treating the whole person, not just the disease. This holistic approach encompasses a wide range of therapies aimed at supporting the body’s natural healing processes. Patients receive individualized care plans that may include conventional treatments such as surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation, combined with integrative therapies like nutrition counseling, acupuncture, detoxification, and mind-body medicine.
Nutrition plays a crucial role in the healing journey at the Cancer Center for Healing. A tailored nutrition plan helps to boost the immune system, improve energy levels, and reduce inflammation. The center’s nutritional experts work closely with patients to develop diets rich in organic, whole foods, and personalized supplements that support recovery and overall health.
Innovative Therapies and Technologies
The Cancer Center for Healing is at the forefront of integrating cutting-edge technologies and innovative therapies into its treatment protocols. One such therapy is hyperthermia, which uses heat to enhance the effectiveness of chemotherapy and radiation. This method targets cancer cells while sparing healthy tissues, reducing side effects and improving outcomes.
Another advanced treatment offered is the Sono-Photo Dynamic Therapy (SPDT), which combines light and sound waves to destroy cancer cells. This non-invasive therapy is particularly beneficial for patients with advanced or metastatic cancers. Additionally, the center utilizes IV therapy to deliver high doses of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants directly into the bloodstream, promoting detoxification and immune system support.
Mind-Body Connection
Recognizing the powerful connection between the mind and body, the Cancer Center for Healing incorporates mind-body medicine into its treatment plans. Techniques such as meditation, yoga, and stress management are employed to help patients cope with the emotional challenges of a cancer diagnosis. These practices not only improve mental health but also enhance physical recovery by reducing stress and promoting relaxation.
The center also offers psychological support through counseling and support groups. Patients have the opportunity to share their experiences, receive emotional support, and build a sense of community with others who understand their journey. This holistic support system is crucial in fostering a positive outlook and improving overall well-being.
Patient-Centered Care
At the heart of the Cancer Center for Healing is a commitment to patient-centered care. Each patient is treated with compassion, respect, and empathy. Dr. Thomas Lodi The multidisciplinary team of oncologists, naturopathic doctors, nutritionists, and therapists work collaboratively to ensure that every aspect of the patient’s health is addressed.
Patients are actively involved in their treatment plans, empowering them to make informed decisions about their care. This collaborative approach fosters a sense of ownership and control, which is vital for the healing process.
A Vision for the Future
The Cancer Center for Healing envisions a future where cancer care is personalized, integrative, and holistic. By combining the best of conventional medicine with innovative therapies and a whole-person approach, the center aims to improve survival rates and quality of life for cancer patients.

The Effectiveness of Naturopathic Cancer Treatment
Tumblr media
Over the years, conventional treatments like chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery have been the standard approaches to cancer treatment. However, an increasing number of people are exploring alternative and complementary therapies, including integrative oncologists. Naturopathic cancer treatment aims to support the body's ability to heal by utilizing natural therapies, lifestyle modifications, and personalized treatment plans. In this article, we will explore the effectiveness of naturopathic cancer treatment and its potential benefits.
Naturopathic medicine is a holistic approach that addresses the root causes of illness and promotes the body's innate healing abilities. Naturopathic doctors (NDs) focus on the principles of treating the whole person rather than just specific symptoms. When it comes to cancer, naturopathic treatment aims to enhance the overall well-being of the patient and improve their response to conventional therapies.
One of the key aspects of naturopathic chemotherapy support is personalized care. Naturopathic doctors take into account multiple factors such as the patient's medical history, lifestyle, genetics, and emotional well-being. They develop individualized treatment plans that may include a combination of therapies such as herbal medicine, acupuncture, nutritional counseling, lifestyle modifications, and stress management techniques.
While the effectiveness of naturopathic cancer treatment is still a topic of debate, there is growing evidence suggesting potential benefits. Some studies have shown that certain naturopathic interventions can improve the quality of life and reduce side effects in cancer patients. For example, acupuncture has been found to alleviate symptoms like nausea, pain, and fatigue, often experienced after chemotherapy or radiation. Herbal medicine, on the other hand, might have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, supporting the immune system and potentially inhibiting tumor growth.
It's important to note that naturopathic cancer treatment should not be used as a standalone approach. Rather, it is often used as a complementary therapy alongside conventional treatments. Many naturopathic doctors work in collaboration with oncologists to create an integrative treatment plan that combines the best of both worlds. This collaborative approach aims to address not only the physical aspects of cancer but also the emotional and mental well-being of patients.
In conclusion, naturopathic cancer treatment offers a holistic approach to cancer care that focuses on enhancing the body's ability to heal. While more research is needed to fully understand its effectiveness, it has shown promise in improving the quality of life and reducing side effects in cancer patients. If you are considering naturopathic cancer treatment, it is crucial to consult with both your oncologist and a qualified naturopathic doctor to develop a comprehensive and personalized treatment plan. This post: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naturopathy elaborate more on the topic, so you may need to check it out.

Exploring Alternative Cancer Care and Integrative Oncology
In recent years, the field of cancer care has witnessed a significant shift towards embracing alternative approaches, leading to the rise of Integrative Cancer Centers and Alternative Cancer Therapies. As the limitations of conventional treatments become more apparent, individuals and families facing cancer are increasingly seeking out Alternative Oncology options that offer a holistic and personalized approach to healing. In this article, we will delve into the world of Integrative Cancer Centers, Alternative Cancer Care, and the emerging landscape of Alternative Cancer Therapies.
The Paradigm Shift: Integrative Cancer Centers
Integrative Cancer Centers represent a revolutionary concept that integrates conventional medical treatments with complementary therapies. Unlike traditional cancer treatment facilities, Integrative Cancer Center takes a holistic approach that addresses not only the physical aspects of the disease but also focuses on the emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being of the patients. These centers bring together a multidisciplinary team of medical professionals, including oncologists, nutritionists, naturopaths, and mental health experts, to design personalized treatment plans that combine the best of both worlds.
Alternative Cancer Care: A Holistic Approach
Alternative Cancer Care is gaining traction as an effective and empowering approach to managing cancer. Unlike conventional treatments that often target the disease aggressively, alternative therapies emphasize the body's natural ability to heal it. This approach considers various factors such as nutrition, stress management, and lifestyle changes to enhance the immune system and improve overall well-being. Alternative Cancer Care doesn't reject conventional treatments; rather, it seeks to enhance their effectiveness while minimizing side effects and improving the patient's quality of life.
The Rising Trend of Alternative Cancer Therapies
Alternative Cancer Therapies encompass a wide range of treatments that are not commonly part of conventional medical practices. These therapies can include acupuncture, herbal medicine, meditation, yoga, and more. Many patients are turning to these therapies to alleviate treatment side effects, manage pain, and reduce stress. It's important to note that while these therapies are often considered "alternative," they are not necessarily meant to replace conventional treatments but rather to complement them. Consulting with a qualified medical professional before incorporating alternative therapies is crucial to ensure safety and effectiveness.
The Role of Alternative Oncology
Alternative Oncology, as a whole, encompasses the spectrum of alternative approaches to cancer treatment. It aims to provide patients with a broader range of options beyond the confines of traditional treatments. Alternative Oncology focuses on patient empowerment, acknowledging that each individual's journey with cancer is unique. By offering a blend of traditional and alternative therapies, Alternative Oncology provides patients with the tools they need to actively participate in their healing process.
Conclusion
As we move forward in the field of cancer care, it's essential to recognize the value of Integrative Cancer Centers, Alternative Cancer Care, Alternative Cancer Therapy and Alternative Oncology. These alternatives offer personalized, holistic, and patient-centric approaches that empower individuals in their fight against cancer. By combining the strengths of conventional treatments with the benefits of complementary therapies, we are witnessing a paradigm shift that puts the well-being of patients at the center of their healing journey.

When to ask for help?
My friend offered to help me figure out how to set up a “GoFundMe” campaign to try and help with the cost of treatment. My initial instinct was to say no, that I don’t deserve help, that I should spend every penny of my own money, go into credit card debt, and sell my house in order to continue living. That it was greedy to ask for STRANGERS help, with no benefit to them.  Why.
WHY was that the first thought, the loudest voice and the strongest urge? I feel horrible asking people for help. For a long time I felt like I was a burden to my family, and anyone who called me a friend was doing it out of pity and not from a genuine feeling of friendship. It’s taken some intense therapy to get over those feelings. I was finally starting to feel worthy of love and to love myself before I got this diagnosis.
I have a meeting with my insurance company’s social services to see what I can do to set up a payment plan to stagger the $13,000 so I don’t have to pay it all in one chunk. We talked about whether or not to get care through my insurance provider, Kaiser Permanente, or to go get care from the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. I want to get treated at SCCA.  Here are the issues I face with affording my cancer treatment:
I currently make what my insurance has determined “too much money” to qualify me for any sort of aide. However, I will not be able to work full time through treatment. I will have to drop to part time, and my salary will be cut in half, which will then qualify me for assistance through Kaiser. SCCA also has a financial assistance program, but the social worker says that they are far more reluctant to give financial assistance. However, I feel the quality of care I would get through SCCA (If my referral goes through) is far greater than the care I will get at kaiser. The team I had my consultation with at Kaiser was not open to taking vitamins to help protect my healthy cells from damage from Chemo. SCCA works with Naturopathic oncologists to do what ever one can to preserve and protect your body. If there’s a chance I can avoid Neuropathy of my hands, lung damage, heart damage and thyroid damage, I want to exhaust every possible option.  So, do I sacrifice quality of care for a better shot at financial assistance? Or do I go into debt to for the type of care I think will give me the best chance at recovering from this?  I recognize that I need help. But it goes against everything society has taught me. I live in a society that says I have to struggle. Life should be hard, and I should be grateful that I’m able to live inside a warm structure and not out on the streets. Because “housing and healthcare are a privilege not a human right.” Because our corporate overlords tell us to be at war with one another over a $15.00 minimum wage, to not focus on the billions they make from inherited wealth, family connections or selling our data like a poker chip.  Can you tell I’m angry? I went from being a healthy, independent, financially stable woman to someone contemplating homelessness in a matter of 5 months, all because I got cancer from working far past my capacity as a human.

Health / Hospital  / Symptom Update | 1.13.18.
Hey friends, I really appreciate your prayers. Life is really hard and it hasn’t been getting any easier, but God is redeeming all the broken and using you to do it in Caleb and I’s lives. We’re surviving and trusting in God’s promises and in each other’s promises. We have joy sometimes and sorrow sometimes and all the real life emotions in between. I don’t want to let myself waste an opportunity to magnify God’s goodness… but let’s be real, both of our hearts and bodies are understandably and reasonably tired.
I’ve had a lot of friends shoot me texts this week checking in, I’m so grateful for our church and our PEOPLE. ❤️ But I’ve been too fatigued to respond, to leave the house aside from pushing through to daily doctors appointments, and to do much of anything. So… perks of this blog to update everyone at once! I hate that it’s impersonal though. Sorry guys 😉❤️
The last month (or 6 months… or 3 years..) have felt… something akin to skydiving. As Chronic Graft vs Host had been progressing over the summer and fall, I was waiting months and months to get referrals to new GVHD specialists through UCLA’s scheduling system, and their specialists are all over LA, hard to get to, hard to get scheduled and hard to maintain the schedules of so many busy doctors who are far apart from each other. I LOVE all my main doctors through UCLA, and plan on seeing them for cancer check ups, but my first month at city of hope has all around been so much better of an experience.
There’s hardly any traffic getting there (as opposed to the parking lot of the 405/101), parking is 12$ per day at UCLA which adds up when you’re going a few times a week, and I usually had to wait 6-7 hours in the oncology clinic at UCLA between blood draws and actually seeing the doctors. It’s all I knew so I never questioned it aside from the occasional eye roll. But with city of hope, it’s a straight shot with minimal traffic off the 210, only an hour-ish away. To see my oncologist there, they have been getting me in within 20 minutes each time, parking is free and they have their own Graft vs Host Disease CLINIC. And the campus has 3 gardens that are so pretty! I love that I have the option to go and read with the coy fish in the Japanese garden if I have a long day there. And there’s HOPE in the name. These people understand the healing process, and that is invaluable for sick people!
Since being at city of hope for just a few short weeks, it’s been overwhelming. Bittersweet. Thankful to see who I need to see.  Thankful to get the treatments I need. Thankful for… some hope. On the one hand, I’m discouraged. This is overwhelming and a lot to maintain for a disorganized, fatigued and busy girl like me! But on the other hand, I’m so thankful… I’m seeing a lot of great people who compassionately understand me!
So in the last two weeks I’ve gotten in to see:
- GVHD oncologist - My main doctor, he helps maintain the entire picture of GVHD effecting the whole body and refers me to all the other GVHD specialists.
- GVHD eye specialist - he’ll be putting plugs in my tear ducts & getting me pros lenses to help with dry eyes
- GVHD wound care specialist - help with chronic non healing ulcers popping up all over the body
- GVHD physical therapist - helps with the progressing limited mobility from scleroderma hardening, tightening and cracking the skin from my neck to my toes, and also tightening the connective tissue of the joints and some unknown organs so far.
- GVHD oral specialist - helps with chronic non healing mouth & throat ulcers, & preventing gum & teeth decay from dry mouth
- Photopheresis / ECP blood treatments 2x a week, back to back days
And as soon as they schedule me this week, I’m going to start seeing:
- GVHD speech pathologist - who will help me regain muscle control over my tongue and speech again, it’s been progressively harder to talk at times. Another tangible reminder of my precious James 1!
- GVHD GI specialist - endoscopy, routine throat dilating & gvhd GI maintenance
- GVHD lung specialist - to check on progress of GVHD lung involvement
- GVHD gyn - to check on premature ovarian failure that max capacity total body radiation caused before the stem cell transplant. BHRT has been really helping with all the menopausal symptoms though, thanks to my favorite holistic md ob/gyn in westlake! Couldn’t recommend her enough!
- GVHD endocrinologist - to check on my secondary adrenal failure from steroids for GVHD
- GVHD dermatologist - to help with skin & the residual alopecia (hair loss)
- Possibly a GVHD neurologist… to help with my broken brain! ;) (Which by the way, I’m so looking forward to Dr. Mercola’s new Broken Brain documentary coming out, by the way! If you’re interested in preventing and possibly reversing any brain diseases like Alzheimer’s, dementia, anxiety, depression, attention disorders, chemo brain or plain old foggy brain - it’ll be a helpful resource!)
- That, along with seeing a naturopath, many well researched natural protocols for each organ/secondary condition, and my favorite acupuncturist when I have time. Well, they help a lot with the symptoms and making my quality of life…. a little more livable!
The symptoms have all been getting worst… adrenal faliure has put my energy at a 1/10 most days lately (which is a bummer, I had made so much progress naturally for a while until some necessary medication changes! But I’m keeping at it!) , scleroderma hardening/tightening skin pain is usually around a 7/10, 9/10 on the cracked scleroderma lines that are showing up on some sensitive areas of my legs - which can make me walk a little funny at times. Thankfully I’ve found some great natural over the counter anti inflammatory pain relief options, which help manage all the pain and inflammation quite a bit.
Photopheresis / “ECP” is the same treatment UCLA was going to start, so I feel that I’m doing what’s comprehensively best… I had an external hickman central line placed at COH a few weeks ago. Each treatment pulls out 1.5 liters of blood, filters out the lymphocytes and treats the lymphocytes using a special medication, combined with UVA light therapy, then they put it back in my body… The hope is that these treatments long term would eventually filter out all the blood in my body… and in turn help manage GVHD.
I have been gently warned though from one of my caring specialists, that these blood treatments show great temporary effects for most people after 3 months of treatment, but after a long time some of the patients have stopped responding and regressed… So, I’m thankful to be mentally prepared and have the right expectations. But I also feel afraid of what’s coming… We’re constantly choosing to make this another opportunity to open the palms of our hands and trust God intimately… Please pray that I’d respond well to this treatment long term, and that Caleb and I would find our joy and fulfillment and peace in the only lasting source: Jesus.
This is my comfort in my affliction, that your promise gives me life. Psalm 119:50
So, the actual treatments have been good. They make me feel fatigued like we all expected, so I usually sleep through them. I don’t feel any difference yet, but I dont expect to feel any start of relief until month 1, and there are some things that don’t heal until about a year of treatments. I’m also waiting on insurance authorization to start a GVHD IL-2 clinical trial.
Thank you for caring and praying for both of us… Caleb needs it just as much as I do, he’s going on overdrive constantly and doing such a good job. He’s helping me see this differently each day, helping point me back to Christ and helping our lives feel full even though physically we are so far from it. Please pray for lasting hope and peace and joy in Christ and also for physical healing. Please pray that I wouldn’t be selfish and that I’d take every opportunity to boldly, humbly, and lovingly share my hope in Jesus.
xoxo
But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.” The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.
Lamentations 3:21-26

A patient recently submitted the following question:
One of the main things I am struggling with is my decision not to do chemo.
I am not against chemo and radiation and I feel like it has a time and place. If I can heal my cancer without it I would like to. However, if the majority of people with my type of cancer can’t heal without it then maybe I should go forward with it.
Am I doing the right thing?
This is such a tough dilemma, I can understand the ever-present fears associated with a decision like this and I can understand that deep desire to erase any “what if’s” from one’s mind and heart.
Although I do not have the legal right to tell a patient to do or not to do chemotherapy, radiation, surgery, prescription medications or any other form of western medical intervention, what I can do is provide patients a breakdown for deductive reasoning, that they might reach a place where they can make confident decisions for themselves.
The following is a list of steps I’ve encouraged patients to take as they decide whether adding _______ (insert chosen therapy) is right for them.
Step 1. Assess Your Current Symptoms and State-of-Health
Are my symptoms consistently worsening, even with everything I am currently doing to support my immune system?
If my symptoms are worsening, how rapid are the changes?
If my symptoms are not worsening, do I still have fears/concerns with holding “stasis” in this state-of-health?
Do my scans & labs confirm my current symptoms or is what I’m physically experiencing in-contradiction to the trending results?
Do I have quality-of-life?
Step 2. Assess Your Current Protocol
Have I reached a plateau with what I can currently do ‘naturally’ to support my immune system?
Am I interested in or even capable of adding in more alternative therapies to my current protocol?
Is there another alternative clinic/practitioner that I might benefit from consulting with?
Do I have more time in my day/week to add more alternative therapies?
Do I have the financial capacity to support a continued expansion of out-of-pocket expenses?
Am I reaching a place of mental/spiritual burnout or overwhelm in my current regimen?
Step 3. Know the Facts
How does my type/stage/grade of cancer typically respond to traditional therapies?
What does the research say?
What are the 5-year survival rates?
What is a detailed breakdown of the recommended protocol {s}: drug names, # of infusions/treatments, time-span between each infusion/treatment
Does the suggested protocol seem reasonable, taking into account my needs as an individual?
What are the expected effects {including side-effects} of those treatments?
Step 4. Address “Side” Effects Head-On
Am I willing to risk experiencing all of the potential side effects {even those listed as rare}?
How does my body currently handle modern medical interventions?
How do I currently tolerate chemical exposures: am I sensitive to them or do I not notice any difference?
What does my genetic report say about my methylation pathways, specifically my detoxification genes?
Am I willing to adjust/add to my current therapy regimen to accommodate additional support in light of potential side effects?
Step 5. Consider Your Support System
Am I experiencing pressure or encouragement/support from others?
If I am experiencing pressure, what is their motive {whether intentional or unintentional}? Is it fear? Love? The desire to have their way? Is their pressure founded in research-supported wisdom?
Walk through all individuals who currently bear influence in your life: spouse, oncologist, primary care practitioner, immediate/extended family, friends, spiritual community, coworkers, etc.
If at any point in the future I decide to change course, will I continue to be supported in my decisions?
Step 6. Finding Peace
Where is my current state of mental health at?
Do I have more peace if I DON’T or if I DO pursue Western Medical Treatments? There is a major difference!!
Not every question listed above needs to be answered before a person might reach a final decision and choose which way to go. Some people might only need to ask themselves the very first question: Are my symptoms consistently worsening, even with everything I am currently doing to support my immune system? For others, it might take many more questions and conversations to reach that place.
Take an appropriate amount of time, seek wisdom from a multitude of counselors, and make your decision based upon that wisdom and the peace you experience as a result.
For a more detailed explanation of these steps/questions, you can watch the video presentation here:

“There Is Another Way” - Man Refuses Surgery and Chemo and Cures His Bladder Cancer With These…
Tumblr media
Trevor Smith was 52 when he was diagnosed with bladder cancer cells phase T2a, indicating that the growth has actually grown into the inner fifty percent of the muscular tissue layer. The majority of medical professionals were not positive whatsoever, and also he was advised to do the following 3 traditional cancer treatments: surgical treatment to eliminate his prostate, bladder as well as lymph nodes, chemotherapy and radiation.
However, just what his doctors didn't inform him was that they anticipated him to live just 2 or 2.5 years after the surgical procedure (it was said to be approximately 2 years if he refused therapy). His other half, Carol Smith, also explained that he would certainly have been incontinent for as much as a year and impotent after the treatment.
Nevertheless, as she clarifies in her article at Cure Your Own Cancer cells, his spouse was not pleased with the choices her other half was offered, so she made a decision to do a little research study on her own. Carol began exploring cancer cells, therapy alternatives as well as all added details associated to the topic, with the aim to save her other half's life.
 She writes:
“Fear is a horrible point, and concern is ripe when we listen to words Cancer cells. Our belief system does not have to be secured. We could open our minds to assume for ourselves, educate ourselves and discover how to not just approve our 'fate.'”
Namely, when the pair educated the oncologist as well as urologist that they made a decision to research study choice therapies before making a decision, the physicians started hurrying them to decide, and also had a surgery date scheduled. Carol took the time they required to locate out all that might perhaps save the situation.
Carol discovered a naturopathic medical professional which helped them throughout the whole way: checking blood examinations as well as aiding to appropriately integrate correct diet plan, supplements and vitamins right into Trevor's treatment plan. Trevor proceeded to monitor his wellness with conventional examinations, like MRIs, in order to be specific that there was some enhancement because of the all-natural treatments.
As a supplementation, Carol found a best organic treatment for Trevor. It was Essiac tea, or else called ancient Canadian Ojibway Indian herbal formula", which is an all-natural organic therapy made from Burdock Root, Slippery Elm Inner Bark, Lamb Sorrel and Indian Rhubarb Root.
Moreover, the diet of Trevor needed considerable adjustments. He had to get rid of sugar, dairy, white flour, spuds, as well as all refined food entirely from his meals. For this reason, his diet plan was now based on plants, with little hen and fish. Likewise, he started taking a detoxing supplement and also DHEA ( a hormone that originates from the adrenal gland), as well as big doses of vitamins C, D3, B17 and also K2.
Eventually, after viewing the film "Run from the Remedy," a docudrama regarding medicinal hemp oil, Trevor's wife determined to include marijuana oil to his treatment.
According to Derby Telegraph, Trevor claimed: " It felt like I was entering into the unidentified, yet the marijuana oil transformed points for the better. When medical professionals told me I had entered into remission, I was shed for words."
Finally, Trevor prospered to fight cancer as well as was cancer-free at the time of writing of Carol's blog post (August 2014). Likewise, Trevor had his bladder 19 months after the original diagnosis.
 Carol adds:
“[It] is surprising that we are converted that there is no remedy for Cancer, our story is living proof there is an additional method, and also I am now taken in with only obtaining words out that Cancer does not require to imply death."
The whole procedure, successful treatments as well as healing methods made use of in the instance of Trevor are clarified in the publication "Taking Control." Carol composed the book under pseudonym Alyssia Sade and also called her spouse Perry.
Studies Done on Cannabis Oil
Newest as well as older studies continuously have a hard time to uncover, or verify the efficacy of marijuana in the treatment of cancer cells and also its capability to reverse cancer. Particularly, there has been installing proof that tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in marijuana and also other substances (cannabinoids) are able to induce death of cancer cells cells.
Cannabinoids were taken into consideration to be " a brand-new class of anticancer medications that hamper cancer cells development, prevent angiogenesis and also the metastatic spreading of cancer cells" by a record "Mini-Reviews" in Medicinal Chemistry.
In addition, in 2006, The British Journal of Cancer that THC and also other cannabinoids prevent tumor growth.
Another 2006 clinical test released in the British Journal of Pharmacology additionally found that THC assisted in the reduction of the spreading of tumor cells in every instance. THC was additionally discovered to decrease the growth dispersing by Harvard scientists.
However, although these as well as numerous others researches touch on a couple of essential concepts, there is still much work to be done. It is possible that nature has designed the perfect medicine that fits exactly with our very own immune system of receptors and signaling metabolites, in order to offer quick and also total immune reaction for systemic stability and metabolic homeostasis.
Currently, there is an ongoing research on the results of marijuana oil and also the process of collecting evidence will ultimately show whether it can efficiently turn around cancer cells effects.

Naturopathic Cancer Treatment: Exploring Alternative Approaches
Tumblr media
When it comes to cancer treatment, patients often explore various approaches, including conventional methods like surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation. However, an increasing number of individuals are also considering complementary and alternative therapies such as expert in integrative oncology. Naturopathic cancer treatment focuses on a holistic approach to healing by addressing the underlying causes of cancer and supporting the body's natural ability to fight the disease. In this article, we will explore some common naturopathic treatments and their potential benefits.
One of the key pillars of naturopathic cancer treatment is the emphasis on boosting the immune system. Naturopaths believe that a strong immune system is crucial in fighting cancer. A range of natural therapies is used to achieve this, such as herbal medicine, nutritional supplements, and immune-enhancing treatments. Through targeted supplementation and dietary modifications, naturopaths aim to strengthen the body's defense mechanisms and improve overall health.
Another commonly used approach in naturopathic cancer treatment is detoxification. Naturopaths believe that eliminating toxins from the body can support the body's ability to heal. Detoxification methods can involve dietary changes, herbal remedies, and specialized treatments like intravenous therapy. By reducing the toxic load on the body, naturopathic therapies aim to create an environment in which cancer cells are less likely to thrive.
In addition to immune support and detoxification, integrative oncologist near me also emphasizes stress reduction and emotional well-being. Naturopaths recognize the significant impact of emotions and mental states on overall health. Techniques such as counseling, meditation, acupuncture, and relaxation exercises are often employed to address emotional imbalances and reduce stress levels. By addressing the mind-body connection, naturopaths believe that patients can enhance their healing process and improve their quality of life.
It is important to note that naturopathic cancer treatment should be used as a complementary approach alongside conventional medical care. Naturopaths work in collaboration with oncologists and other healthcare providers to ensure the best possible outcome for the patient. They aim to support conventional treatments, reduce side effects, and improve overall well-being.
In conclusion, naturopathic cancer treatment offers a holistic and individualized approach to healing. While it should not replace conventional treatments, it can be a valuable addition to a comprehensive cancer care plan. By focusing on immune support, detoxification, and emotional well-being, naturopaths aim to enhance the body's natural ability to fight cancer while improving overall health and quality of life. Using Natural Therapies with Cancer Immunotherapy
Tumblr media
The word “chemotherapy” often strikes fear into patients because they immediately focus on the long list of side effects that can accompany the drug. When patients hear “immunotherapy” they are left with the impression that this is entirely different than chemotherapy and that they should not expect the same side effects as chemotherapy. Although the mechanism of immunotherapy is different than chemotherapy, it is still associated with a number of common serious side effects. As a result, the natural therapies used with immunotherapy are very different than those used with chemotherapy.
The mechanism of action of chemotherapy is through the drugs cytotoxic effect. Although this is an over simplification, chemotherapy is a toxin that damages rapidly dividing cells more than healthy cells which divide much slower. Immunotherapy works to improve the effectiveness of the immune system and to understand why this can cause serious side effects we need to look at the mechanism of immunotherapy in the context of cancer.
When your immune cells interact with a cancer cell there are a number of pathways which must be activated in order for the immune system to become activated and attack the cancer cell. There are several checkpoints in the immune system which prevent the immune system from attacking friendly cells. It is critical that these check points work so that your healthy cells will not become targets of your activated immune system. Cancer cells take advantage of these checkpoints to prevent your immune system from recognizing them as abnormal. This allows them to grow unnoticed by your immune system. Immunotherapy disables one or more of these checkpoints to increase the likelihood of the immune system becoming activated in the presence of the cancer cell. As a consequence the immune system can engage these cells and destroy them. The obvious problem with this approach is that we are essentially turning off the safety checks for the immune system which increases the risk of developing a number of serious health concerns including autoimmune diseases.
There are wide ranging patient responses to these immunotherapies and it is not well understood why some people have incredible lasting responses while others have no response and develop serious side effects. A key difference with immunotherapy versus chemotherapy is that it takes time to assess whether the patient is indeed responding to the drug. With chemotherapy you tend to see rather rapid reductions in tumour mass when the correct drug is used. After initiating immunotherapy, it can sometimes take months to know if the tumours are actually responding to the drug. This lag time must be considered when deciding on a future treatment plan after failing chemotherapy.
There are several naturopathic therapies which can help to support cancer patients through immunotherapy. It is critical that you have professional guidance when developing a treatment plan in the complicated clinical context of cancer. Just because something is natural does not mean that it is safe. It is necessary to have a qualified Naturopathic physician develop a safe and effective treatment plan.
Avoid Natural Immune Stimulants
The biggest mistake that patients tend to make is that they assume the more the immune system is stimulated the better. This is simply not true when it comes to immunotherapy. The immune system is already being significantly activated and we want to avoid additional immune stimulation. Remember, the safety checkpoints of the immune system have been removed so stimulating the immune system may activate the immune system against your own healthy cells. The potential benefit of a stronger immune system is out weighed by the risk additional side effects in the context of immunotherapy.
There is no direct scientific evidence showing that additional immune stimulation is dangerous, but there is none to show it is safe. Immunotherapy is a relatively new therapy so the interactions with natural immune stimulants have not been well studied. Until there is research to conclusively support that it is safe, I would advise patients avoid these immune stimulants. There some medical oncologist who use mistletoe therapy with immunotherapy in Germany and they have reported a good synergy between the two. I have had several patients in my practice use mistletoe therapy with immune therapies based on the advice of another doctor. In these handful of cases they continued to have good responses to the immunotherapy without any negative side effects. The bottom line is that we need more research to determine that this combination is safe and until that research is completed, based on the mechanism of action I would advise patients to avoid natural immune stimulation with immunotherapy.
Gastrointestinal Support
The most common side effects from immunotherapy are often related to the gastrointestinal tract. In one clinical trial a significant number of patients who were given a combination of Opdivo and Ipilimumab developed gastrointestinal side effects. Out of 313 patients, 52 developed diarrhea, 40 developed nausea and 28 experienced vomiting1. Several patients also developed stomatitis or intestinal perforation. Many of these patients were unable to continue with the therapy due to these side effects. You do not have to be a physician to recognize that these are significant numbers and that supporting gastrointestinal health is necessary.
The good news is that there are many natural therapies which are effective at supporting the gastrointestinal tract. In this article I will only discuss a few of many therapies which may be helpful in this unique clinical context. L-Glutamine is a great place to start and in my practice I regularly recommend this to patients undergoing immunotherapy. L-Glutamine increases intestinal villous height, stimulates gut mucosal cellular proliferation, and maintains mucosal integrity2. It also prevents intestinal hyperpermeability and bacterial translocation, which may be involved in sepsis and the development of multiple organ failure5. This is an example of a supplement where dose matters, so you must have a qualified health professional develop a gastrointestinal support plan for you.
Probiotics can also be helpful at supporting gastrointestinal health but once again, dose matters and the strain used makes a big difference. The decision about dosing and strains used depends on a number of factors and it takes clinical experience to use probiotics properly. On several occasions I have heard from patients that they were told to avoid probiotics as it could cause a infection while on the immunotherapy. This is complete nonsense and it is not based on scientific data. In fact, virtually all of the research indicates that probiotics decrease risk of infection4. Extensive safety testing has shown no pathogenic potential in humans or animals3. If you have concerns about the safety of probiotics, think about this, is the food that you eat sterile? Is there anything that you eat which is not completely covered in bacteria? Of course there is bacteria on everything that you eat! This is unavoidable and this is normal, our bodies are designed to consume bacteria on a constant basis. When you have a probiotic the bacteria are not leaking into your blood stream, they are staying in your digestive tract. There are very few circumstances where probiotics must be avoided and immunotherapy is not one of them. By taking probiotics you are supporting your digestive tract health which has potential to reduce some of the most common immunotherapy side effects.
The most effective plan is a collaborative integrative plan that is developed based on the best available scientific evidence. Integrating naturopathic medicine with conventional medicine should be every patients first resort, not their last. If you are about to start immunotherapy or if you are on immunotherapy then contact a Naturopathic physician who can develop a safe and effective plan to support your gastrointestinal health. Do not wait until side effects develop before deciding to seek help, it is critical that you be proactive and develop a plan right from day one.

It is very hard not to be angry when conventional medicine has failed you so consistently and completely, and yet continues to be your only reasonable hope for help that you so desperately need. I say this for myself, of course--after all, the heart condition that is currently chewing up my life is a "nuisance", my heart is "really healthy" otherwise. I've lost track of the times I've been told that I'm "perfectly healthy" in the face of strong evidence. (With a side of "it's all in your mind", because as we all know, mental health issues are actually personal failures and not the province of doctors.) But I'm hardly the worst off that I know. There's my mother, who went to a conventional oncologist to be told that surgery, radiation, and lifelong disability were her only options, and then went to a naturopath who helped her put the cancer into nearly six years of remission and counting, and improved her overall health at the same time. There's my husband, who went to the emergency room deathly ill and got nothing but a giant shrug. Two days later his family doctor diagnosed pneumonia after five minutes examination, and he spent the next *two months* recovering. I still wonder what difference faster treatment would have made. There's my best friend, who was treated for years for rheumatoid arthritis to little effect before a new doctor diagnosed Lyme's disease. And there's her daughter, who at seven years old is nonverbal, can't be potty trained, and has regular seizures. They just spent a week in the hospital for testing, during which the machines apparently did not pick up any seizures. On the last day, a nurse was, for the first time, actually present for one of her multiple times daily very blatant seizures, and everyone freaked out and went into emergency mode. In case it needed to be more clear that the hospital unreservedly believed its machines over the clear and detailed account *and medical records* of the patient's parents. Because machines don't lie, except when they do, which is all the time. Like the machines at the emergency room that failed for hours to pick up my heart arrythmia that was easily detectable with an ordinary stethoscope. Not that they tried. One of the leads wasn't even plugged in to begin with. After the seizure, of course, they dosed her with a medicine that had already not worked, and sent her home. And yet they're about to go back and spend two more weeks in the hospital for testing, because *what other choice do we have?* So yes, I'm angry. I'm furious, I mistrust all doctors from word one, and yet tomorrow I will call a new doctor and try to convince myself that this one might be different. Because what other choice do I have?

Naturopathic Cancer Treatment
Tumblr media
Naturopathic cancer treatment is an effective option to support your immune system, boost your metabolism, and reduce side effects of chemotherapy and radiation. This type of care is an integrative approach that includes a medical oncologist and naturopathic doctor working together to give you the best possible chance of success during your treatment. Read more great facts, click here.
Naturopaths who specialize in oncology are trained to assess the patient’s underlying root cause of their illness and provide natural therapies that address the causes of disease and help restore health. They use a variety of techniques including diet, botanical medicine, exercise, and body-mind approaches to optimize your body’s ability to heal itself. For more useful reference regarding Naturopath specializing in cancer, have a peek here.
NDs understand that the root cause of disease is often a combination of many factors, such as an immune system problem, toxicity in the body, and stress on the body. They also work with patients to help them get the right balance of nutrients, and remove any toxic chemicals that may be contributing to the disease.
Acupuncture has been shown to be an effective alternative for relieving nausea and vomiting associated with cancer treatment, according to a recent study. It’s also been shown to improve pain and fatigue. Please view this site https://www.wikihow.health/Prepare-for-Cancer-Treatment for further details.
In addition, naturopathic doctors can offer other modalities such as massage therapy and chiropractic care to reduce pain and discomfort. They can recommend herbs and supplements that help the body to recover faster after chemotherapy and radiation.
These modalities can also help improve the quality of life, reducing depression, improving mood, and promoting better sleep for those with cancer. Using these therapies can reduce side effects and improve quality of life in cancer patients, and may be able to speed healing after surgery or help prevent recurrence.
However, there are many different kinds of naturopathic treatments and remedies for cancer patients, so it is important to consult your provider to find the best options for you. Some of these natural therapies can interfere with your chemotherapy or radiation treatments and make them less effective, or they may interact with certain medications that you are taking.
You should also be aware of the dangers of fake cancer treatments. There are a lot of people who will try to dupe you into fake medical treatment for cancer or other chronic illnesses, offering IV therapies and other outrageous detox protocols. Some of these therapies can be dangerous, like high-dose vitamin C and various herbal treatments that can be harmful to your liver or kidneys.
Unfortunately, there are also naturopathic scams out there that target people who are desperate to feel well and believe that natural remedies will cure their cancer. These people are more likely to fall for these lies because they have little hope in conventional treatment and are overwhelmed by information on the internet.
Fortunately, there are many naturopathic doctors who specialize in oncology and can help you through this process. In fact, over 80% of people with cancer choose to utilize natural medicine alongside their standard treatment.

Sodium Bicarbonate Cancer Treatment Overview
Tumblr media
Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda): Every Cancer Patients Best Friend
Cancer cells have a lower pH than surrounding tissue, sodium bicarbonate cancer treatments work by increasing pH.
As if it were not humiliating enough for orthodox oncologists to learn that the lowly chemical sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) is important in the treatment of cancer now they have to swallow the research pointing to the fact that bicarbonate can also be used to diagnose cancer in its earliest stages. Oncologists do understand and know that bicarbonate is necessary to protect their patients from the toxicity and harm done by highly toxic chemicals used in chemotherapy. They also know it is of extraordinary help to patients receiving radiation treatments protecting as it does the kidneys and other tissues of the body from radioactive damages. Oncologists should also know that bicarbonate-induced extracellular alkalinization leads to significant improvements in the therapeutic effectiveness of certain chemo agents. A number of studies have shown that the extracellular pH in cancers is typically lower than that in normal tissue and that an acidic pH promotes invasive tumor growth in primary and metastatic cancers. The external pH of solid tumors is acidic as a consequence of increased metabolism of glucose and poor perfusion. Acid pH has been shown to stimulate tumor cell invasion and metastasis in vitro and in cells before tail vein injection in vivo.
Researchers have investigated the very reasonable assumption that increased systemic concentrations of pH buffers would lead to reduced intratumoral and peritumoral acidosis and, as a result, inhibit malignant growth. It has been shown that increased serum concentrations of the sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) can be achieved via oral intake. These researchers found that consequent reduction of tumor acid concentrations significantly reduces tumor growth and invasion without altering the pH of blood or normal tissues.[1]
Oral NaHCO3 selectively increased the pH of tumors and reduced the formation of spontaneous metastases in mouse models of metastatic breast cancer. NaHCO3 therapy also reduced the rate of lymph node involvement and significantly reduced the formation of hepatic metastases. Acid pH was shown to increase the release of active cathepsin B, an important matrix remodeling protease.[2]
We know that bicarbonate turns to CO2 easily when dissolved in water as it enters the stomach but few know that cancerous tissue turns bicarbonate into carbon dioxide. A few years ago a United Kingdom Cancer Research team found MRI scans were able to track changes in bicarbonate and therefore identify cancers even in the very early stages.
Sodium Bicarbonate and Cancer Research
All cancer has a lower pH, meaning it is more acidic than surrounding tissue. Working with mice, the researchers boosted the MRI sensitivity more than 20,000 times. Using MRI, they looked to see how much of the tagged bicarbonate was converted into carbon dioxide within the tumor. In more acidic tumors, more bicarbonate is converted into carbon dioxide.
Lead researcher Professor Kevin Brindle, from Cancer Research UK’s Cambridge Research Institute at the University of Cambridge, said: “This technique could be used as a highly-sensitive early warning system for the signs of cancer. By exploiting the body’s natural pH balancing system, we have found a potentially safe way of measuring pH to see what’s going on inside patients. MRI can pick up on the abnormal pH levels found in cancer and it is possible that this could be used to pinpoint where the disease is present and when it is responding to treatment.”
Special Note: In Sodium Bicarbonate – Rich Man’s Poor Man’s Cancer Treatment it is stressed that sodium bicarbonate cancer treatment is not a standalone single shot treatment. It should always be used in conjunction with a full protocol that includes most importantly magnesium chloride, iodine and selenium plus a naturopathic approach to diet, intestinal cleaning, sun exposure and many other helpful things.
