NadaMoo! recalls 26,000 pints of Strawberry Cheesecake Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert

Little Red Rooster Ice Cream Company, d/b/a NadaMoo! (“NadaMoo!”) announced a limited recall of approximately 26,000 pints of its Strawberry Cheesecake Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert because they contain an undeclared almond ingredient.

The recalled products are pints of NadaMoo! Strawberry Cheesecake Non-dairy Frozen Dessert that were distributed to select distributors and retailers beginning February 19, 2019. The recalled products have a “Best By” date of 08/09/2020 printed at the bottom of the pint. In addition, the recalled pints will also have a UPC code of “854758001020” listed below the barcode on the back of the pint. To help identify if a pint of NadaMoo! Strawberry Cheesecake is impacted by this recall, please visit the site NadaMoo! created at www.nadamoo.com/March2019Recall

No consumer has reported an allergic reaction to date.

No other NadaMoo! products or flavors are recalled. NadaMoo! wants to reassure customers that Strawberry Cheesecake pints not labeled with the expiration date listed above are not affected by the recall and therefore can be fully enjoyed rather than discarded.

The recall was initiated as soon as it was discovered that the pie crust inclusions in the Strawberry Cheesecake product containing almond flour as an ingredient was inadvertently filled into packaging that did not declare that ingredient, potentially exposing consumers to an undeclared allergen.

Meet Michelle. The best way to describe Michelle is to compare her to her Disney doppelgänger, Cinderella. Like Cinderella, Michelle is sweetness and sunshine. Like Cinderella, she works VERY hard, but with a song in her heart (she works part time at the YMCA, and part time as a taxi driver for her kids). Like Cinderella, Michelle literally makes friends wherever she goes, including among the animal kingdom (her own pets are living long, dragged-out lives in order to spend more time with her). And, like Cinderella, if you don't like her, it's probably because you are a villain and you will meet your demise at the end of the story. Michelle likes to say words like "dude", "sweet", "girl", "sweetness", "let's get real", and "sweety". About 85% of her sentences will contain the word "sweet" in some form. Michelle is young, but has already lived a very full life- three kids, a pastor's wife, and so many moves she actually hasn't seen all of her homegoods together in one place in a few years (much of it is still in storage). And yet, she is joy incarnate. She is honest, open, genuine, caring. At any given moment of the day, she is juggling a thousand needs in her home, all the while carrying a thousand different people on her heart. She graced us with an interview over the Christmas break, to help us get back up and running after the holidays. 1) When did you first hear about Christ/and or the Gospel? I first heard the Gospel, that says Christ died to forgive my sins and rescue me, probably in April or May of 2003. I was 19 years old and up to that point had never listened to a sermon in my life or spent anytime thinking about Jesus. IF someone would of tried witnessing to me then, I would of made fun of them. I gave no thought, nor cared about ‘religious things’. I spent that summer attending an Assemblies of God church with Joshua (her husband) on Sunday and sometimes on Saturday we would go to a college night where people would give their testimony. It was there that I truly believe God started a work of grace in my heart that would be culminated on August 18, 2003. I prayed a simple prayer with my eyes closed shut under the guidance of my sweet mother in law (HI MARY!) opening them tear-filled and changed. I felt something in my heart shift, a bit of peace and acceptance. Something that I spent my entire life searching for and that only Christ could fill. I came to Christ like a child, not knowing one Bible verse or ever reading the Bible on my own. Just knowing I needed Him. 2) How did you meet your spouse? I was 14 and he was 16. Commercial art class. I am NOT an artist. Do not ask me how I ended up in that class. I do not even know what commercial art is! #GodsProvidence (*Josh and Michelle dated, eventually broke up, and then reconnected later in life at a drive through window one night when he was working. They exchanged emails and the rest, as they say, is fast food history. Never underestimate the potential of a late night food craving). 3) If you could describe your past church experience in three words, what would they be? Challenging, precious, grace-filled 4) What was your biggest burden or fear before entering Pastor’s College? Honestly, I had an anxious heart for a large portion of 2015 because our next steps in life were so unclear. We had no definitive direction for the next step simply because the Lord was teaching us to trust Him in a deeper way. I reread my journal from Dec 24, 2015 just last week and I had recorded many fears: uprooting our lives again, my husband finding temporary employment in KY before PC began (we moved to PC early), FUNDRAISING, our current church finding a new pastor, finding a place to live, and having no settled plan for the future for our family. I am sure you feel the anxiety as you read that list! 
But yet, rereading that entry filled my heart with joy. Every need has been met, and every fear was unfounded. God orders our steps; and even in the midst of so much unknown he is preparing a place for us. Although I still do not know all the details of our next step (it’s not all laid out in a spreadsheet and details are fuzzy,) I can confidently say that I trust God in this matter. My faith has grown through a season of trial, and I give God ALL glory for his work of grace in my heart. He is faithful. And usually I learn this the hard way! 5) What has been the most helpful book (apart from the Bible) you have read and why? The most helpful book I have read is A Chance to Die: The Life and Legacy of Amy Carmichael. Amy was a missionary to India in the late 1800’s. She was the first non-Indian woman to completely adapt to the Indian culture and even dress like a typical Indian woman. Over the course of 53 years she became a mother to hundreds of orphaned and unwanted children. I most admire her because her life was not her own; she truly looked to the Lord as her master and loving father. She was a true follower of Christ: she followed him to spiritually dark India where a white woman was a rarity, the Gospel was unknown, and Satan had blinded many eyes. She picked up her cross daily by rescuing children in pagan temples from prostitution and denied herself by forsaking romance to remain single. It must also be said that she never asked her supporters for money**. She would hold back requests in her newsletters because she believed the Lord would provide for her even before she asked. What faith! I read this book every few years when I am tempted and begin to think, Man, my life is hard! I am sacrificing so much for the Lord! It’s just the wake up call (really, gentle slap around) that I need! **Disclaimer PC wives (and maybe future wives): I do not have that gift and we asked to raise funds! Ha! 6) What TV show would I have a good chance of winning? Jeopardy! I am incredibly well-versed in random trivia from all categories. JUST KIDDING! Remember the show Supermarket Sweep? Dude, I actually like grocery shopping (especially alone!) and I feel like I would do pretty good! 7) What is your favorite motivational/inspirational quote? I read this quote in a devotional early on in my Christian life and it permanently etched itself in my brain. “I am uncertain of the next step, but I am certain of God.” –Oswald Chambers 8) If I could offer one piece of advice to a future PC wife, what would it be? Well, if I could tell myself something 5 months ago I would say something to the effect of “Don’t be so surprised when the Lord reveals how sinful you actually are! The cross is proof of how terrible I am and how desperately in need I am of a Savior!” Before we moved to KY I was a pastor’s wife and served in various capacities. But once we came to Louisville and the PC began, I had no “church ministry” roles and felt like I lost my identity in a way. I put so much stock in my performance that when I fell short of a self-made standard (usually the product of comparing myself to others) I always fell flat on my face. At first it felt crushingly condemning. But after consistent Gospel conversations with a few precious friends, prayer, and tough confessions, my condemnation turn into conviction and freedom. So yes, I am incredibly sinful – but YES I am greatly loved by a Savior who not only forgives but changes us to be more like Him! Oh and by the way, just in case someone is tempted to think, She figured that out fast! - this is still a struggle for me! But I am encouraged to know the Lord is working on me. If I could say one more thing: be prepared for one of the sweetest seasons of your life! You will not leave the same as you came!
