The reality is a lot different, sustainable weight loss isn't about quick fixes or over-promising pills and tonics. SPOT REDUCTION You may have heard about spot reduction in how you can target or isolate specific body parts for fat loss and doing lots of crunches will help burn belly fat or that wrapping your stomach in plastic wrap will melt fat away. Well, this does not work. Spot reduction is a myth promoted by gimmicky products and misinformation. The reality is that you simply cannot target fat loss in specific areas of your body (through exercise). Instead, you need to focus on overall fat loss through a combination of diet and exercise. I believe the is why this myth is a lot harder to disprove in the eyes of some people is that you can develop specific muscles when working out such as shoulder/arms and legs, however, that does not work when it is for losing or reducing fats. In fact, some detoxes can be harmful and lead to nutrient deficiencies, insulin or sugar spikes and low energy. So it is better to go to a professional who can craft a Calorie Deficit Meal Plan that does not lead to such kind of detoxes. Instead let’s focus on eating a balanced diet rich in whole foods such as vegetables, protein, and healthy fats.
