We are all capable of being rude, being mean, hurting other people whether we are trying to or not. It's important to always examine yourself and how you are treating those around you -- not because you should inherently take this advice and feel like a shaking chihuahua for every human interaction you have, but instead because it's easy to see your actions as inherently *good* simply because you KNOW how your thought process and reasoning works.
This is why we tend to see our own faults as driven by environmental factors and others fault by their traits. A good example is saying "I was late because traffic was horrible, he was late because he is lazy" even if you are actually late for the same reasons, simply because you are more aware of yourself and the thoughts and actions you took to get to that point, and it's so easy to blame others on their traits, but that often leads to a LOT of gatekeeping, assumptions, prejudices, ect.
But sometimes you gotta be humble, you gotta be able to admit when you fucked up (especially if it wasn't intended and the harm was due to ignorance or lack of context).
You don't need to sit there and beat yourself up, but a little self-awareness can really help make the world a better place when we look at being 'good' as a constant form of self-improvement and learning about one another than a pedestal you are on or off 100%
