What are some Hc’s you have for Berusasha in a modern AU?

Hi anon!! How are you doing? Hope you’re doing fine~

Oooh to think about them in a modern!AU!! I have a lot of ideas I wish I could write!! :')

I think about them parting ways after school, and meeting each other again after college. Bertholdt remembers Sasha as a funny good friend and he’s happy to see she’s still that nice girl. Now about Sasha, she had that innocent crush in the past, and she believes that it isn’t going to happen again, after all she’s an adult now.

She’s happy that Bertholdt is still that super sweet guy and it’s so easy to be around him, especially now that they’re older and don’t have school things to worry about. Feelings seem so troublesome when you’re a teenager! Sasha likes to think she’s better than her younger self.

And so the days pass. It amazes Sasha to discover that Bertholdt is the type of sending messages. Every morning she receives a “good morning :)” or “have a good day :)” from him. Even when she wakes early, she always waits for his message, it’s like her day only starts after his ‘morning’ words.

About Bertholdt, he seems himself amazed how he waits for her replies. He always found himself reaching for his phone in the morning, writing her good morning while preparing his tea or brushing his teeths. He’s always looking for the phone in the brief breaks at work, to see if Sasha maybe sent him something (she always has a meme or funny selfie to send) just to have an excuse to send her something too (as a professional photographer, he always has something to show).

And then, they grow closer. Someday she asks him about his day, he answers about a cafeteria menu he's working on and the chat ends with them meeting at the place. After this day, they always have something to do; sometimes they meet to have lunch, or Sasha passes by his work to leave a piece of cake, or a muffin, something sweet and fluffy she prepares at home (cooking is her favorite hobby!). Sometimes it’s Bertholdt who asks what she wants to have for dinner, as he somehow knows what days would be too much for her to deal with.

At some point, they’re planning some place to visit on the weekend, and as Bertholdt doesn’t have a car (he use his father's car when he needs to), it’s always Sasha who calls him for a ride. And then someday Bertholdt’s father sees her stopping by his house and he wants to know Sasha as his son only talks about that really nice good friend he’s always meeting. That day they ended up skipping the movie to have an awkward but really good day with Bertholdt’s father. The same happens when Sasha’s family comes to visit her and they insist on seeing Bertholdt, after all “Sasha talks so much about you!” it’s what Kaya says.

They don’t know when their feelings started to change. I like them being all goofy and Sasha accidentally calling him “dear” or “babe” and Bertholdt is like… yeah, I like it.

(You can see here how much influenced by the “Be around me” song by Will Joseph Cook I am xD).

It’s funny, easy, and sweet how they ended up falling in love. And I love think on them having this sweet love :’)

Here's the Berusasha modern AU Drabble!

The pregnancy hormones had taken Sasha on an unexpected journey, turning her into a perpetually blushing, lovestruck wife. A mere glance from Bertholdt, accompanied by his familiar  warm smile, it turned her into a stuttering mess. It was as if she had developed a teenage crush on her husband.

One Evening Sasha lounged around on the sofa, while Bertholdt was in the kitchen on the phone with his sister Pieck.Sasha and Bertholdt were facing a delihima, they had no car and they needed help getting to the hospital with her due date getting closer and closer.

One possible solution to their dilemma lies with Bertholdt’s sister Pieck and her husband Jean Kirstein. Pieck and Jean’s comfortable Minivan which is perfect for a pregnant woman and her tower of a husband. Bertholdt decided to give Pieck a call and see if she can help 

The conversation between Pieck and Bertholdt echoed in the kitchen and Sasha felt relieved given that it sounded like a pretty nice chat between brother and sister. Giving her hope that Bertholdt may have found a solution to their transportation delima.Just hearing the sound of Bertholdt’s voice gave Sasha butterflies in her stomach

“ Great News Sasha,”. Bertholdt said as he exited the kitchen. “ Pieck said that she and Jean can take us to the hospital when the baby’s due.”. 

Sasha bashfully gazed down at the floor in response. The mere mention of her name on Bertholdt’s lips was enough to make her feel so incomprehensibly shy and red in the cheeks.

“ Hey are you ok,”. Bertholdt’s voice was laced with Concern as he kneeled down, even with her sitting on the couch his towering frame ensured they were at eye level. Making Sasha’s heartbeat quicken because of the tenderness in his Hazel eyes. 

“ Y-y-eah,”. She mumbled bashfully, her words were caught in her throat, and her cheeks were flushed. How in the world did I manage to marry this Man? Sasha thought to herself.

Bertholdt’s lips twitched upward and he tilted his head in recognition of her shy yet endearing response.

“ glad to hear that sweetheart,”. Bertholdt smiled warmly. He gently cupped Sasha’s cheek,and that

intimate gesture along with his smile was Sasha’s breaking point

“G-G-God Why are you so hot?!?" Sasha blurted out, her eyes widened as She revealed a bashful smile.

“Well, I'm married to the most beautiful woman in the world, so I guess I have to keep up." Bertholdt replied earnestly.

Jeanpiku getting set up at Berusasha's wedding. Jean sits on the bride's side and Pieck is on the groom's side. (I HC Bert and Pieck as siblings) long story short they hit it off and are together

and thus Berusasha is invited to Jeanpiku's wedding.

How do you think Berusasha would meet in a modern/ High School AU? 

In my headcanon, they attended separate schools but shared a passion for archery. Both excelled in competitions, reaching the state finals where fate brought them together. Their initial encounter sparked a friendly rivalry, but as they spent more time together, their relationship blossomed into a genuine friendship.

Bertholdt started attending Sasha's cooking competitions, supporting and cheering her on, while Sasha reciprocated the gesture by showing up to cheer for Bert during his Tennis or Golf matches. This mutual support and shared interests strengthened their bond, turning them into friends and eventually into lovers.

Bertholdt being oblivious to Sasha’s crush on him. It’s obvious to literally everyone else except him.

All couples naturally have disagreements or even arguments

When Berusasha eventually have one of these disagreements, what’s that like?

What a great question, thanks for sending it anon!!

I guess they don't really have any big discussion 🤔 what they have is that lack of conversation when it comes a situation, they don't really understand boundaries.

Like when Sasha is upset but Bertholdt don't know why because she just pout and ignore him; she knows if she starts to talk she's gonna cry-also Sasha wants him to found out what happens, even if she don't give any hint to poor boy. And she can be really angry when Bertholdt can't solve the problem. 🤦

But when happens to Bertholdt being upset or worried with something, he naturally becomes more silent, avoiding people, even his friends. He needs that time in silence to put himself together and think about what he's gonna do to solve it, but you know Sasha, she just have to know what's happening and "wouldn't you say me?" "but what happened?" "why are you hiding from me?" "we can make it if we're together!!". But the "together" include her whole family (!!!) and close friends, after all, there's nothing they can't do as much they're together!!!

(And for someone from a small family, that whole crowd makes Bertholdt really anxious.)

The other way it's the same; Sasha's gonna deeply distressed when she can't do something to just clear her mind, and when she's on bad mood she just need to talk to someone, anyone, about anything.

At first it seems that they wouldn't make it happen. Of course, as time goes, they can understand and respect each others limits. And someday, they could find rest in each other's world. 🤧

Regarding the question of using this AU as a basis for a Collage Base, I am thrilled to give you the green light! I can't wait to see what you create with it.

Now, let me share a little expansion on the Modern AU storyline. When it comes to the nerve-wracking moment of meeting each other's parents, Bertholdt is a bundle of nerves when meeting Sasha's parents. He's so anxious that he's sweating profusely, and his face turns as red as a tomato. However, Sasha's parents turn out to be the chillest and most welcoming people imaginable. Seeing the happiness Bertholdt brings to their daughter, they fully accept him with open arms. Even Kaya takes a liking to Bert.

On the other hand, when Sasha gets the chance to meet Bertholdt's dad (I personally headcanon that Bert was raised by a single dad), she experiences a mix of excitement and nervousness. However, as soon as Mr. Hoover is introduced to Sasha, he immediately approves of her. It turns out that he and his late wife shared a relationship dynamic similar to Bertholdt and Sasha. Mrs. Hoover was always the lively, outgoing type who brought out the best in Mr. Hoover, who was naturally shy and introverted. Recognizing the same soulmate connection between Sasha and Bertholdt, Mr. Hoover sees a reflection of his own loving relationship with them.
