“Well, I guess Chaldea is a strange place with a number of strange people in it. But based from my experience, it’s not just because we’re unsure of who someone is. In my case, even if I don’t know who you are, some things just arent worth lying about.”

Which was pretty much the case, for as long as she could remember. Not that her comrades being weird in their own little way was a bad thing; actually, she believed that it’s what made everyone there interesting. Still, Umi-chan’s words did make her curious. Had she been in contact with other Chaldeans before meeting her? And if so, she wondered if the little berserker can pinpoint their location.

Although-- she gave the stray servant a small pat on the head before looking around. For now, everything seemed to look like it was safe, but she can hardly believe that that’s the actual case. ���No need to thank me, really. Since you’re staying with me for a while, whether or not you’re my enemy doesn’t matter at the moment.” Specially after learning that this was in-part, the berserker’s Noble Phantasm, she wasn’t sure if it was a good idea to be fraternizing with her. BUT. Umi-chan has been quite helpful for the first few moments of this encounter. The magus would have been even more royally annoyed if she had to figure things out by herself, so it was only proper for her to treat the servant that she was with now kindly.

“I have this annoying thing inside my body that tells me when there’s an influx of mana.” Since she shared some information on her, it seemed only fair that Kiomi did the same. “So I noticed after having walked around a bit. And speaking of that, come on. Let’s go find the others.”

“I’m a little curious where you come from, but it’d be wishful thinking to assume you’d just bring me there.” And she would grin at the servant, before beginning her trek once more. Now where could the others be?

I got rayshifted away from them again…

She sighed, crossing her arms and tapping her foot as she stood there somewhere in the middle of Hawaii, all alone.

…Well it’s Takechi and Mitsuhide so it’s not like I’m missing any kind of protection in the first place.

She resigned herself to her fate and simply began to scout the area. Nothing would get done is she just complained about her rotten luck, so might as well just–

Stopping in her tracks, she was surprised to see what seems to be a servant floating towards her. On most occasions, masters would have been on their guard, but the strange girl just looked on curiously at the one who approached. “You’re pretty cute for a berserker.” Then again, looks were often deceiving as she’d learned while she was in Chaldea. “It’s good to meet you, Umi-chan. You can call me Master if you’d like–” To which Kiomi added that she was kidding. “A pretty horrible joke from someone you’ve just met, but Kiomi. You can call me Kiomi.”

“I know you said you’re not here to help me, but this place is suffocating, what’s up with this island?” She was able to sense the high concentration of mana that was present due to the overbearing trait of her stupid crest. It felt like miasma… and a very aggravating one at that.

Hmm.. Was she already getting effected? She seemed a bit annoyed by everything yet.. Not much had happened yet, right? Oh. Cute. The berserker blinked in confusion, before looking down at her hands then looking back up at the other

“Cute.. Thank you. I think. I hear a lot of strange things from you who come from Chaldea.. It’s very interesting. I can’t help but be curious, is it because you don’t know who I am?”

A few more blinks, before the joke sank in. For a moment Umi-chan had been caught extremely off guard with that comment, not that it showed any.

“Kiomi. Hello Kiomi. Maybe eventually- Hm.. Maybe I should not say such things. But thank you for being so kind.”

“The effects of the island.. That’s easy. It’s my Noble Phantasm.. Or perhaps not mine but the being that I come from. It’s boosted from the grail, but it is the same effect. I’m surprised you can notice. Most just get an uneasy feeling.. Even on this scale.”

It’s true, there was no evil or malice in her body. The goddess she was a part of had done terrible acts, driven animals mad, turned heroes into monsters, yet they were not evil. They were doing their task, their duty. they had no ill will towards those she wronged, she simply had to it. Umi-chan herself was not much different. She was tasked with speaking to Chaldean masters and figuring out where BB was, so she was doing just that.

“Interesting.. I suppose that is a way to look at it. It is very interesting to work so closely with you. It will make things easier. I will admit that it is difficult travelling across the island with the amount of Berserkers, so even if you can’t find any your unique skill may help us detect them and avoid them.”

A pause, before the small Berserker shook her head.

“I think this is different. I am not sure how it will effect you, but I do know that it will at least make it harder to think, and make hard decisions. You will likely act irrationally and will start to get angry very easily. Of course this may not be what happens to you.”

It’d be a bit weird if the Master decided to try anything with candy on the Servant, so she just ate it right away! She seemed to enjoy it, if the very quick consumption was any sign to go by. Hm, candy was pretty good.. She might have to ask for more later.

“You don’t have to thank me. But.. I will thank you for giving me candy. Helping others is something I do not mind doing, reward or not. But if you have more candy, I can always attempt to answer more questions.”

"Even if I have more candy," Which she does, "You don't have to barter information for them." Because Kiomi would share them with the berserker anyway, seeing that the servant was already good enough to accompany her on this strange adventure. "We're partners right now. My rations are your rations."

Working on gut feeling most of the time may have led her to a couple of unsavory experiences, but trouble was always something that she factored in with every mission. It was a constant variable otherwise, there would be no need for preparations, everything would be like a leisurely stroll-- but where's the fun in that? So a little bit of trouble and chaos was fine; it just came down to how things were managed in the long rung anyway. Still, that didn't mean that she wasn't going to take into consideration everything that's currently been said. Too keep herself in check while she traversed the Island along with Umi, surely she can find a way around it that wouldn't cause the other any alarm.

"Well then, Umi-chan. I just have one favor to ask of you." She had to make sure that she'd have a countermeasure just in case she doesn't find her servants in time, or if she herself gets affected too badly of whatever it is that was corrupting the minds of everyone on this island. "If I unfortunately fall to the effects of the other you's Noble Phantasm, if you have a way to control me if I go berserk, do it." She'll go down fighting at the very least, just to make sure that she can give the other openings in case the need to flee to safety arose. "Since we're working together, I'll be sure to fight for you if and when the time comes." Probably a crazy sentiment from someone who was supposed to be an enemy, but as she mentioned prior, Kiomi didn't feel anything ominous about the berserker that she now travelled with. At least, that was how she believed it to be.

“And maybe a little bit of gut feeling too.” Being odd or being normal, it was all a matter of perspective. Even when gauging whether that in itself was good or bad was all part of the person’s point of view. Even if her actions might seem confusing to the servant, it wasn’t like Kiomi could change the way she viewed things, or how she operated on a whim. After all, she didn’t need to.

It wasn’t as if she undermined the berserker because of how she appeared, but as she mentioned, the element of gut feelings played a huge part in how she dealt with others. And to her, even if Umi-chan had mentioned that this was, in part, her doing-- the magus couldn’t exactly sense evil nor malice within that tiny body.

“Don’t you think it’s interesting this way though?” It was during times like these where one may doubt the sanity of the mage. Normally, knowing that you were with a possible enemy was already a sign to raise the flags. However, rather than doing that, she embraced the company instead. While it was said that keeping your enemies at an arm’s length was ideal...the girl simply didn’t see Umi-chan as an enemy. “You’re someone who seeks information, and I’m the same. Being together will make it easier for us to gather the things that we need. Besides, you don’t have to worry about me going insane. I’ve been trained by my servants well in that department, ahaha~ the two that I've been separated from drive me insane all the time.”

“I’ve got a good handle on this thing, so you don’t need to worry about this either, Umi-chan.” Was all that she said about that, smiling gently and allowing for the berserker to sit on her shoulder. Tapping her pants’ side pockets, she knew she kept those with her. Nothing entirely nutritious, but something of a treat. “Ah here. Here, I’ll let you have some of this.” Milk candies. “I know servants don’t need food, but here’s a show of thanks from me for your assistance, and for even telling me that it’s useless right now to go pay a visit to the other you.”

And that the place where she came from was a volcano was somewhat problematic for Kiomi anyway. Lava meant a chance for fire after all, when the time comes, she’ll have to figure a way around that.

Hm, so that was BB? She didn’t look particularly threatening or anything, so how did she manage to.. Well, actually. If anybody knew not to judge by experiences it should be her, after all while split into avatars like this she was quite small and not at all threatening, so perhaps BB is the same.

“You’re BB, correct? You are very purple.” a pause “I am.. Nameless, but a berserker, if you wish you can call me Umi-chan until my name is revealed. I’ve been looking for you, you’re very important to the person I am working with. Or.. For.”

They held out their hand, before floating to be eye level with the moon cancer. Despite talking, her expression never changed. She.. Really wasn’t giving any emotion anyway was she..?

Well it was her job to make sure that she got as much info as possible so she floated toward the master, expression showing no emotion even if she was a bit.. Curious?
