Y'know, until the last few seconds ago where I just totaled up the numbers, I'd been thinking that I'd be down in comparison to years prior. Turns out to be just a few more than before, so I'm still getting more chests year after year. I guess that's because the random events drops are just so easy to accumulate when you know how to do the quick familiar bonding. On that note I've gotten far more chests via that method than the year prior even with never actually bonding with all my awakened familiars at once this time, multiple days where I did only 3/4 dozen of them, and even a day or two where I really couldn't do it at all. Which then leads into my Coli numbers, which has finally been not a constant growth, because there were multiple days where I could only be in the Coli for a few minutes, if at all. (cause, hey, what's 'family' other than people who waste your time, eat all the cookies you make, and get you sick... but i digress >.>) But I knew that this would eventually happen, so I'm not too pressed about it. A few more Higgin's trades but that's probably from the RE drops (Also something, something Coli'ing in only a few areas so the trade stuff gets out of wack. Blah, blah, blah I have ~2100 caterpillars and <200 of every other food for example). I did brew more chests this year than the one prior, and could have done more... but I kinda got bored of it and started to just replace my stores of transmutation stuff. Also saw somewhere that brewing chests is actually pretty inefficient and thinking about it, yeah that makes sense. Pretty average gathering numbers at first glance, but remember that we didn't get the extra 15 turns this year, so really not that bad if you think of it. I think I actually got 4 one day.

Normally I address the sales after the loot, but it kinda goes hand in hand this year. I usually sell more than I open, but with chest prices being as they were this year, I think it would have been more trouble than it was worth on my normal listing amounts. At least I was able to maintain my egg # from last year, albeit two were from scavenging, which is interesting considering that I can't remember if I've ever scavenged a Noc egg before at all. But that means that drop % on eggs was lower for me. Noc, Smirch, and Fern scroll #s are average if not down but I did get more Paisleys this year. Such is RNG.

The Philosophy of Nietzsche in Berserk

Berserk is a dark fantasy manga written by Kentaro Miura. Berserk has many inspirations and has inspired many others. One such inspiration seems to be the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche.
In the following article I will discuss:
Nietzsche and Berserk on Religion

(Miura - Conviction) 1. Nietzsche and Berserk on Religion
Both Kentaro Miura and Friedrich have presented anti-religion arguments in their works. Miura, whether directly inspired or not by Nietzsche, presented many of the same arguments in Berserk.
The strongest connection can be found in Berserk's Conviction Arc via the Holy See. The Holy See has many allusions to Christianity, such as the use of the cross. Both Nietzsche and Miura paint these religious organizations in a negative light. Nietzsche can be quoted saying "Do not look to God if what you are looking for is a live option that will serve to explain and direct your life" (Friedman 293). Yet the followers of the Holy See do just that in the time of war and famine. Nietzsche believes religion is one of the many reasons why these issues happen (Walker). They wish to combat their fear and find guidance. Nietzsche believes this is the very reason religion was created, to explain people's fears. Guiyan explains, "Human beings originally wanted to get comfort and security from God, but ultimately God dissociated human beings from the real world" (305). In this chapter, this is reflected in the group believing burning Casca will suddenly fix their situation. They believed their religious leader and God would save them from the demons attacking. Yet, their prophet Griffith and priest Mozgus are they very demons they should fear. Despite their beliefs, they all perish. This outcome would of remained the same no matter what, under the "Law Of Casualty", essentially destiny.
Later on, Guts exclaims to Farnese "Don't Pray!". This is because he knows it is futile and simply distracts her from surviving using her own power. With the horrors he has seen in the real world, he knows the delusion in praying will only lead to death. Rather, they should stand and fight. Nietzsche would also agree with this statement, as he believes that grasping the power of the individual drives all life (Glenn 133).
2. Losing Yourself to the Abyss

This above quote is the driving force behind much of Berserk. It is even paraphrased by Schierke under the context that she should not lose herself in the Astral Realm when attempting to control those who would lend her power.

The driving essence of Gut's struggle against the Beast of Darkness is just that, the struggle to not become a monster while killing them. He's spent so long fighting for his life from demons, "monsters", he is becoming one himself. This is demonstrated numerous times throughout the series, mostly through the Beast of Darkness and Gut's thoughts. He's full of rage after the betrayal and trauma from the Eclipse. That rage only builds as time moves forward, and the more he has slain. The Beast of Darkness grows stronger as well. When Guts wears the Berserker Armor and the Beast takes control, his humanity is consumed...

3. The Higher Man, Griffith.
Nietzsche believed every man should return to the ways of the Greeks. To be free to make their own choices, without any shackles holding them from their will (Warbeke 380). Griffith also believes that he must be free to acquire his dreams no matter the cost or how society may view him. He wants a castle...

...and wings. He is willing to sacrifice everything for his dream. Nietzsche may call him a "higher man" (Philosophy Now). A lower man, the herd, may not pursue dreams of their own. Meanwhile, this higher man would fight tooth and nail to see their dreams realized. Nietzsche despises the herd. Similarly, in Griffith's speech about friendship, he explains how he cannot be friends with his soldiers:
"It is my perception that a true friend never relies on anothers dream. A person with the potential to be my true friend must be able to find his own reason for life without my help. And he should put his heart and soul into protecting his dream. He would never hesitate to fight for his dream, even against me. For me, a true friend is one who stands equal to me in all respects."
This disheartens Guts as he hears this. The man Guts would consider his friend just claimed that because he follows Griffith into battle, rather than fighting his own, he is unable to be his friend. Guts and the rest would be considered the herd in Griffith's eyes. Meanwhile, Griffith stands on his own dream.

In conclusion, Nietzsche's philosophy is common in Berserk. Whether it is anti-religious statements, the abyss looking back, the higher man, or simply the overarching nihilistic tone, Miura has shown he has had inspiration from Nietzsche.

I also (although less consistently) collected continent/setting predictions. Marquet was the top (49), then Issylra (29) and the Shattered Teeth (22). For non-continent settings, some form of Spelljammer was the top (19), followed by the Age of Arcanum (17), and Planescape/Planehopping (15). Underdark, Ravenloft, Blightshore, and a return to Tal'Dorei were also suggested multiple times.

Top predicted races were Dwarf, Elf, and Human (~100). Dwarf and Elf haven't been played before, so that tracks, and I don't think it's out there to assume we'll get at least one human again. Also, post the whole thing with Essek and long rests, people really started jumping on Elves (which, fair). Warforged, Dragonborn, Tabaxi, Genasi, Tieflings, and Changelings all are pretty prominent (~50).
Of the races not yet established as existing in Exandria, Warforged and Changeling were the most popular (Warforged now dubiously canon post-Aeor, and Changelings dubiously canon with the LoVM bartender), followed by Shifters, Leonin, Kalashtar, Fairies, Grung, Ravnica races (Loxodon, Simic Hybrid, Vedalken), Van Richten's Races (Dhampir, Reborn, Hexblood). Locathah and the other Feywild/Strixhaven races are the only officially published races at 0 suggestions. The lowest previously seen race is Gobins at 2, one of which was for Sam again, and the lowest PHB race was Half-Orc at 17.
Class wise, Sorcerer was actually the most predicted class (which kind of tracks, as it's the one that hasn't shown up even as multiclass), followed by Cleric (generally assumed as compulsory), Paladin (only as a multiclass), and Rogue (also assumed as compulsory, but way less so. Not surprisingly, Bloodhunter, Ranger, and Artificer were the lowest.
Wild Magic Sorcerer was far and away the most suggested subclass, the only one to break 50, although it hasn't hit 100 quite yet (I think it will by the time the final characters are announced though). EK Fighter, Lycan Blooodhunter, Forge Cleric, Swashbuckler Rogue, Wild Soul Barbarian, Stars Druid, Glamour Bard, Bladesinger Wizard, Eloquence Bard, and Echo Knight Fighter are the other top subclasses.
Every official subclass has been suggested except for Berserker Barbarian, Grave Cleric, and Transmutation Wizard (previously played), Battlerager Barbarian and Banneret/Purple Dragon Knight (SCAG subclasses, which are widely unpopular), and the dubiously-official Planeshift subclasses. Open Seas Paladin is the only Matt homebrew to not be suggested at least once. For dead UA, Satire Bard, Brute Fighter, Giant Soul and Stone Sorcerer, and Raven Queen Warlock have all been suggested, usually only once, although many of the suggestions were collected while classes were in UA for Tasha's, Van Richten's, and Fizban's which is technically still UA but announced so...
With Travis, the predictions bounce between two main ideas - a melee spellcaster (Forge/War/Tempest cleric, Bladesinger/War wizard), or going back to a melee class (Bloodhunter, Fighter) but with a bit more mechanical interest (Lycan, EK/Echo/Rune/Battlemaster). I think those are both solid predictions, and while I really, really doubt we'll see a Lycan bloodhunter or a Forge cleric, I think the general vibe is probably spot on.
My own prediction is one of the more out there, but still in line with the general thinking - Artillerist Artificer. Travis is definitely a very tactical player, and it would be cool to see him get a turret for the battlefield, plus all the general utility/versatility of the artificer. Alternatively, I really could see a rogue, although more like what Mastermind or Inquisitive is trying for as opposed to how they actually turned out, if that makes sense.
Race wise, the top guesses are fairly plain, outside of shifter (which is mostly tied into the "werewolf" vibe). None of them would shock me, but I don't have any predictions.
I think that everyone's right on the money with Marisha as a paladin. Her next character being high charisma seems spot on, and I think moving to a half-caster also tracks. EK/Echo/Rune/Psi fighters would also fit, although they don't lean towards high charisma, or a warlock, maybe a more melee one.
Rogue seems unlikely purely due to the fact she's played one before, kind of. Matt and Marisha have both talked some, but her first game wasn't Vox Machina, but a previous game Matt had run where she'd played an assassin. You can do non-assassiny rogues, but still.
(Other fun facts about this game because it's wild: apparently the session she sat in on before playing involved half the party getting eaten by ghouls. the party joined up with another half-tpk'd party (marisha and the replacement characters) to get the raven queen to bring their dead friends back, and a fate-touched rogue swore service to the Raven Queen in order to bring the last party member back.)
My prediction for Marisha is also paladin, although I don't have any thoughts on the subclass, with genie warlock as a second because they are fun. No real thoughts on race other than I too would love to see tiefling Marisha.
Most people are going with a support caster for Liam, which I totally buy. Caleb definitely leaned towards support caster, even if he usually did end up played as DPS. Druid has taken the top given the polymorph->wildshape vibe, although it's still very yclose with Bard and Cleric. Suggestions for fighter dropped after EXU, and while Liam does play a lot of fighters, I doubt we'll see it for C3.
Honestly, Liam is the one I have no predictions for outside of 'support caster'. I'd lean away from Cleric and towards Druid or Bard, but it's hard to say. I also think Artificer deserves to be in the running, as it seems like something Liam would really enjoy, but also...might not want to go Int-caster to Int-caster. My only real thought on race is that I want to see whether Marisha and Liam choose the same again.
Top guesses for Sam is, far and away, Wild Magic Sorcerer. This was also the top guess for C2. I do not think Sam will play a Wild Magic Sorcerer. In general, though, the vibe is going back to fullcaster - Sorcerer, Cleric, Druid, Wizard. I think full caster is probably right.
Sam is so hard to predict because it isn't what he'd choose, but what Liam chose for him. I think it's either something really standard or something really out there, and since I can't guess the really out there, I'll go for the standard - Elf Wizard or Dwarf Cleric, leaning towards Dwarf Cleric, due to the support class and the fact that Sam's mentioned never playing a religious character.
The main vibe for Laura is definitely "DPS" which is understandable. I don't know if I agree with it, but I understand it. Aside from Barbarian, the rest of the vibe is spellcaster - and I don't think we'll see a completely no magic character from her either.
Prediction wise...I understand barbarian, but I'd actually go with Ancestor or Beast over Wild Soul. I could actually see a Bloodhunter from her too, although leaning away from Vex vibes. I think I'd want to go with Wizard, though I'm not certain on that. I would bet Tabaxi but idk, I could see her avoiding that for Travis' sake.
Everyone always names Taliesin as the hardest to predict (he had the lowest count at 354, under even Ashley at 365, to everyone else's ~380/400) but I don't think he's harder to predict than Sam. The thing that makes him hard to predict is that he likes to build characters to fit the party, which he (probably) won't be doing, same as with Molly. The other main thing he tends towards is mechanical complexity in a way that suits his characters.
The main driving influence in the top suggestions is Eldritch Weirdness. Aberrant Sorc, Whispers Bard, Phantom Rogue, Warlock in general. I don't disagree with any of the subclasses, but I really don't think he'd go eldritch for eldritch sake, if for at the very least being...he has always been this weird and it's yet to be a driving force behind any of his characters before. Like the Taliesin-is-an-elder-god thing, I think this is mostly people who don't hang out around occultists. Look, I've had multiple people sell me their actual souls, and you don't see all my characters being warlocks.
That being said, I don't think I disagree with the top classes, just the subclasses. I definitely agree with Sorcerer as a good choice for him, although I'd actually go Clockwork, as I think it has a fuck-with-the-DM vibe. Taliesin is the most heavily suggested for dunamancy subclasses, which wouldn't surprise me, but I think he might avoid on the sole point of not wanting something too tied with the last campaign. A lot of people also name the psionic subclasses, which I'd be more likely to second if they had kept the weird mechanic from the UA, but don't disagree with, excepting my issue with Aberrant Mind.
My out there guess is that he's going to choose a multiclass build. He definitely enjoys playing around with weird builds (Owlbear, he did a non-CR oneshot as a monk/stars druid). On the one hand, a lot of these builds work best for oneshots or starting at higher levels, as they can take a bit of time to come online, but with such a large party, I think it will still function.
(my actual prediction for Taliesin is that his character is weirdly reminiscent of either the aasimar echo knight or the elf blood cleric from the exandria game I'm running.)
Ashley is being predicted as a Dex/Cha build, and I'm totally here for it. Pre-Fearne, I was leaning Ranger, especially Fey Wanderer for a fey build, but post-Fearne, I'm going Rogue, especially Swashbuckler. I agree that seeing a high Cha Ashley would be great, especially to let her be more center-focused than Yasha had been, and swashbucklers are just...really fun. Also, the whole Aeor arc really left me wanting to see Ashley as the go-ahead-and-scout character, just to watch her push buttons.
For continents...I understand why people are guessing Marquet, since it's currently the most explored. I think that if they're going to do Marquet, then Matt will sit down with a cultural consultant. I say will over should, because I won't make any value judgements, but I think it's in line with what Matt and CR would do in that situation.
I can't really tell whether this is a prediction or what I'd like to see (the two are distinct but often difficult to untangle) but I'd actually go with Issylra, and specifically playing up the (at least initial) set up of explorers and adventurers heading out into the wilds. I will also place my bets on them having some sort of more steady home base, and my hopes on that they get an airship. My wildest out there guess is that the plot will move towards either planescape/spelljammer in the upper levels, tying into some of the seeds from the end of C2.
I have seen a handful of people predicting table seating order, which is both very minor and also the thing that I may be most interested in. A while back, someone made a post pointing out that the main romantic relationships were all cross-table, while the strongest platonic relationships were same-table or side by side. Because I am the sort of person that I am, I did statistical analysis on ao3 fics....and it's statistically significant. So I am trying to see whether or not, based purely on C3E1, I'll be able to predict what the top ships for the campaign will be.
This rambling has mostly gotten out of hand because I don't have much opportunity to talk about this, but, you know. If you send me predictions I will give you the current odds gambling style, so that you'd know how much you'd win if you'd place a bet, because I did the tables up as a joke for something else and now I kind of want them to be used for something.

Glancing at your phone, you sighed as you read the time, wondering if Angel was still up. Taking your phone into your hands, you sent him a quick text to see if he was still awake, but you weren’t sure if he would be at three in the morning.
It wasn’t even a full minute later when Angel called you. “Hi baby.” Your voice was sleepy, but soft and sweet and Angel grinned to himself as he lounged around in bed, having only just had a chance to crash at the local motel.
“Mi dulce, don’t get me wrong, I love hearin’ that beautiful voice, but what are you still doin’ up?” Angel questioned. “I couldn’t sleep. I miss you, Angel.” Your pout evident in your voice and your boyfriend smiled, wishing he was right there with you. God, he wanted to feel you against him, he wanted to touch you and hold you and kiss you everywhere. “I miss you too, querida.” Angel sighed. “I’ll be home in a couple of days.” He reminded you, though he needed that encouragement just as much as you did, all Angel wanted was to be at home with you.
“I know you will,” You paused, shuffling to get a bit more comfortable in bed. “But I can’t sleep without you.” You admitted quietly. “Then I’ll stay with you until you fall asleep, mi dulce. Just listen to my voice.” Angel told you. “When I get home, we’re gonna take a long sleep together and then when we wake up, I’m gonna make love to you all morning, how does that sound querida?” Angel asked softly. “Perfect.” You mumbled sleepily, finally beginning to relax.
Angel continued to speak to you, telling you everything you two were going to do together once he returned from his run until you became so sleepy that you were barely responding and finally, just as he was telling you about how he wanted to take you out on a date, you fell asleep. “Goodnight mi dulce, dream of me.” He said before hanging up the phone and getting comfortable in bed, happy knowing that you were okay, you were fast asleep in bed at home and he couldn’t wait to be with you again.

Saat musuh memiliki HP di bawah 30 persen, semua serangan Leomord akan berubah menjadi serangan kritikal. Uniknya lagi, serangan kritikal tersebut bisa mengenai semua target yang berada di jangkauan serangan Leomord. Pasif inilah yang menjadikan Leomord hero yang sangat mematikan walaupun dia menggunakan cukup banyak equipment defense. Para pengguna Leomord bisa saja membuat equipment yang menitikberatkan pada attack speed, lifesteal dan damage tanpa harus berurusan dengan kritikal untuk tetap menghasilkan damage yang besar. Leomord mendapatkan shield yang mampu menyerap damage sambil bersiap untuk menyerang. Setelah itu, dia akan menghasilkan physical damage yang bergantung pada seberapa lama waktu casting time skill tersebut. Semua musuh yang terkena Momentum akan mendapatkan efek slow sebesar 60 persen. Cooldown: 7/6,5/6/5,5/5/4,5 detik Damage: 450/510/570/630/690/750 physical damage Slow: 60% Momentum bisa dilepaskan dengan cepat ataupun dipaksa keluar ketika Leomord mengaktifkan Momentum sekali lagi atau ketika dia terkena crowd control musuh. Saat Leomord menunggangi Barbiel, skill Momentum berubah nama menjadi Phantom Stomp. Phantom Stomp ini merupakan gerakan melompat ke depan yang diikuti oleh physical damage pada area yang ada di depannya dan memberikan efek slow 60 persen. Cooldown: 5,5/5/4,5/4/3,5/3 detik Damage: 375/425/475/525/575/625 physical damage Slow: 60% Meskipun memiliki damage yang lebih kecil, tapi Phantom Stomp tidak memiliki casting time dan cooldown yang lebih cepat sehingga bisa dispam.
Decimation Assault/Phantom Charge

Leomord menerjang ke arah yang ditentukan, menghasilkan physical damageke seluruh musuh yang dikenainya, dan memberikan efek slow sebanyak 50 persen Cooldown: 14/13/12/11/10/9 detik Damage: 300/340/380/420/460/500 physical damage Slow: 50% Decimation merupakan skill yang dimiliki Leomord untuk engage dan disengage dari sebuah pertempuran. Walaupun memiliki jarak yang terbatas, tetapi sejatinya skill ini sangat berguna ketika berhadapan dengan hero-hero yang memiliki escape mechanism atau charge tingkat menengah. Decimation Assault berubah menjadi Phantom Charge saat Leomord menunggangi Barbiel. Ketika diaktifkan, Barbiel akan menerjang ke arah yang ditentukan, menghasilkan physical damage ke seluruh musuh yang dikenainya, sekaligus menarik musuh ke arah yang dia tuju. Cooldown: 8,5/8/7,5/7/6,5/6 detik Damage: 300/340/380/420/460/500 physical damage Phantom Charge merupakan skill yang sangat berguna untuk menghentikan hero-hero yang bisa bergerak sangat cepat seperti misalnya Fanny atau Natalia. Jadi jangan segan-segan untuk menabrak mereka dari depan ketika kamu menunggangi Barbiel.
Phantom Steed

Leomord memanggil Barbiel, kuda andalannya. Saat menerjang masuk ke pertarungan, Barbiel akan menghasilkan physical damagedan memberikan efek slow sebesar 50 persen. Cooldown: 50/45/40 detik Damage: 350/475/600 physical damage Stats: 40/60/80 physical/magic defense dan movement speed Bila Barbiel mengenai Leomord, dia akan menungganginya selama 15 detik dan mendapatkan skill, Phantom Stomp dan Phantom Charge. Selain itu, basic attack Leomord akan mengenai seluruh musuh di sekitarnya dan dapat dilakukan sambil bergerak.
Leomord Battle Spell
Leomord bisa menggunakan beberapa Battle Spell. Dia bisa saja menggunakan Flicker untuk meningkatkan survivability, Aegis untuk bertahan lebih lama di team fight, atau Retribution bila Leomord diwajibkan menjadi carry dalam tim.

Leomord Emblem Set
Leomord bisa memanfaatkan Custom Fighter Emblem dengan talent Unbending Will, atau Custom Tank Emblem dengan talent Attack and Defense. Kedua talent ini akan memberikan damage tambahan yang berasal dari jumlah HP yang berkurang dan yang dimiliki saat itu.

Unique Passive Frenzy akan memberikan attack speed tambahan sebesar 30 persen dan critical chance sebesar 5 persen bila Leomord berhasil mendaratkan serangan kritikal. Haas’s Claw bisa menjadi equipmentkedua atau ketiga yang harus dimiliki oleh Leomord di early game. Haas’s Claw akan memberikan 70 poin physical attack dan lifestealsebesar 20 persen yang akan meningkat menjadi 30 persen ketika HP Leomord di bawah 40 persen. Pada intinya, Haas’s Claw adalah equipment yang harus dimiliki oleh Leomord demi sustain lebih lama saat proses laning atau team fight. Hunter Strike merupakan equipmentdengan physical attack tertinggi kedua setelah Blade of Despair. Bisa dibilang Hunter Strike adalah sumber damage alternatif yang murah, sebelum akhirnya kamu memiliki Blade of Despair. Tapi jangan salah, Hunter Strike memiliki cooldown reductionsebesar 10 persen dan Pursue yang akan meningkatkan kecepatan gerak sebesar 30 persen saat Leomord berhasil menyerang musuh lima kali. Hunter Strike bisa ditukar dengan Demon Hunter Sword, bila kamu berhadapan dengan banyak tank atau Berserker’s Fury, ketika kamu membutuhkan serangan kritikal. Blade of Despair

Leomord Gameplay
Sebelum bisa menunggangi Barbiel, Leomord bisa dibilang tidak cukup mandiri untuk laning sendirian. Jadi jangan segan-segan untuk membantu tank kamu farming, agar kamu bisa mencapai level empat dengan aman. Gunakan skill Momentum untuk farming dari jarak aman.

Begitu kamu mencapai level empat, Leomord bisa melawan sebagian besar hero dalam pertarungan satu lawan satu. Tapi kamu harus ingat kalau equipment kamu belum terlalu lengkap, jadi jangan gegabah atau memaksakan diri untuk melakukan dive yang penuh risiko. Saat kamu mencapai mid game, Leomord sudah bisa roaming dan membantu lane lain. Skill pasif milik Leomord akan sangat membantu dirinya ketika membersihkan lane, jadi kamu harus bisa mengira-ngira keseimbangan minionyang ada di lane agar kamu bisa memperlambat perkembangan hero musuh.

Quake Champions March Patch Adds Instagib, 2v2 Deathmatch, & Custom Game No Abilities Modes
Quake Champions has been puttering around Steam for the past year in Early Access, but the developers at id Software hope to add some pep back in the game's step with the latest patch which will be deployed on March 15. They posted this pretty amusing video on the official Quake Twitter account earlier today. How do you pronounce gib again? Maybe we should ask Steve Gibson.

Joshua Boyle, Quake community manager, posted the extensive patch notes for the March patch to Quake Champions. The highlights are definitely the introduction of Ranked 2v2 Team Deathmatch, as well as the ability to remove Champion abilities in custom games. That's right, we can finally just play Quake again, Shackers. If you are UT-lover, you might be happy to hear that id Software has also added Instagib for your casual candy ass.

Quake Champions is in rough shape in an increasingly competitve landscape for arena shooters and in the face of an explosion of Battle Royale games that are vying for gamers' dollars and time. The Pitchfork Disney. George Blagden (Presley Stray) and Hayley Squires (Haley Stray) Credit – Matt Humphrey 2017
Lights go out. Applause begin as the actors take their bows. I notice myself mindlessly clapping, mouth open and thinking, “What just happened?” Shaken, confused and a little scared I walk out of the theatre feeling not good, bad or otherwise… just mind-blown. That’s the effect of The Pitchfork Disney.
Written by Philip Ridley, The Pitchfork Disney is an absurd play about a brother and sister who lost their parents a decade ago and live life in fear. It’s a surreal dreamlike play set in a dimly lit room with furniture scattered alongside the walls of a very long and dingy basement. Audience members sitting in the first row could easily trip an actor due to the close proximity of the space. Jamie Lloyd’s clear direction allowed the actors to transform the space into a bizarre dream. Nothing describes “in-yer- face” theatre better than The Pitchfork Disney.
George Blagden and Tom Rhys Harries were two phenomenal actors to watch up close. Blagden as Presley Stray described dreams and memories beautifully with his emotionally captivating monologues. Harries as Cosmo Disney held an air of imminence as he swept down the room. The two completely absorbed their characters– the anger, fear and pain was clear not only on their faces, but in their body language. Watching the actors up close was much more personal and had a massive effect on the mood of the entire room.
As Presley’s younger sister Haley Stray, Hayley Squires filled the room with an anxious energy and a childlike innocence. Squires spoke so quickly that the audience had to be on full alert or they’d miss a rambling about chocolate. When Seun Shote, as Pitchfork Cavalier, bursts through the door this is the point where the play went berserk. My anxiety level reached an ultimate high due to the yelling and rushed movement from one end of the room to the other. Shote towered over Blagden, his presence was terrifying.
As an audience member, all I wanted to do was make sense of the senseless. I wasn’t happily entertained; I was engrossed in the nightmare that was unfolding before me. My heart stopped when Blagden and Harries had a fight directly in front of me. The intensity level of the play heightened and I was genuinely concerned someone was about to get physically hurt.
The Pitchfork Disney is not for a general audience – it’s for those who completely and wholly enjoy confrontational and edgy theatre. The acting is superb. The space is eerily brilliant. If you’re looking for a chilling play that will haunt you for the next 24-hours in the best possible way, then you’d better pick up some tickets for The Pitchfork Disney.

Quake Champions March Patch Adds Instagib, 2v2 Deathmatch, & Custom Game No Abilities Modes
Quake Champions has been puttering around Steam for the past year in Early Access, but the developers at id Software hope to add some pep back in the game's step with the latest patch which will be deployed on March 15. They posted this pretty amusing video on the official Quake Twitter account earlier today. How do you pronounce gib again? Maybe we should ask Steve Gibson.

Joshua Boyle, Quake community manager, posted the extensive patch notes for the March patch to Quake Champions. The highlights are definitely the introduction of Ranked 2v2 Team Deathmatch, as well as the ability to remove Champion abilities in custom games. That's right, we can finally just play Quake again, Shackers. If you are UT-lover, you might be happy to hear that id Software has also added Instagib for your casual candy ass.
GAME MODE UPDATES
NEW GAME MODE: INSTAGIB
 Instagib is a fun, casual mode
In Instagib mode, every shot is a one-hit kill. Players start with the railgun and gauntlet, and there are no weapon, health, armor, or powerup pickups. Champions can use active and passive abilities, and cooldown hourglasses spawn on the map
NEW GAME MODE: RANKED 2V2 TEAM DEATHMATCH
2v2 TDM is a ranked mode where teams of two players face off
First team to reach 50 kills or the team with the most kills after 15 minutes expires wins
NEW CUSTOM GAME SETTING:

SR is now displayed on Ranked Nameplate
SR is now displayed in Profile/Main Menu
Rank icon hidden in unranked matches
Player level is hidden from other players in Quick Play
Play Incentives
Players will earn additional XP for their first match in each mode daily
Shorter Warmup Sequence
The warmup time before the match begins has been shortened. Additionally, players can now press the Escape key during the pre-warmup Champion screen to skip directly to the warmup
Weapon Stay
Weapon pickups on the map no longer have a cooldown only in Unranked & Quick Play

The Spring Celebration comes with new content players can unlock during the season of Cthalha:

Quake Champions is in rough shape in an increasingly competitve landscape for arena shooters and in the face of an explosion of Battle Royale games that are vying for gamers' dollars and time. While we are reserving judgement on the game until it actually comes out of Steam Early Access, these updates in the latest patch are somewhat encouraging.
