NOTE: This concept is based on Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves. This was always one of my favorite scenes in the movie where the couples talk to each other. Enjoy this Reddie and Benverly piece. Let me know if you’d like to see more from this concept.
“We have to get the kids to listen to us somehow,” Beverly told the others as they paced the upstairs foyer. The ground shook underneath their feet from the loud music playing on the speakers downstairs. In their time being shrunk, now she knew how an ant felt.
“They hardly listen to us when we’re full size,” Ben groaned. Raising a teenager was hard. Lexi was so different from him when he was a teenager. Outgoing, loud, and even lying that she was texting friends when she was really texting guys.
“We need to get their attention soon or Georgie is going to develop an abnormal heartbeat, he could pass out, and his muscles could paralyze. If he’s eating he could choke on something or even swallow...”
A large hand fell on his shoulder stopping him from his nervous pacing. Richie looked into his eyes, smiling, though it didn’t travel all the way up to his eyes. Just a few minutes ago their son stumbled up the stairs and fell to the floor in pain, grasping his stomach.
When Georgie was first diagnosed with a low potassium deficiency, it sent Eddie over the edge. Not just because of their son’s illness but because he was worried that he was going to turn into his mother. But as Richie (and the doctor) assured him, it was real and not fake like Eddie’s mother made him out to think.
“I got an idea!” Richie snapped his finger getting everyone’s attention. “What if we reconnect the stereo? That way, it’ll project our voices. I’ve seen how sound management does it at my shows!”
“How are we going to get downstairs?”
“Oh, the bubble machine!” Eddie beamed, walking towards his invention. He watched as the bubbles shot out of the bubble sticks and floated downstairs. “We’re light enough so we’d be able to jump into the bubble and we’ll land on the floor!”
“That’s brilliant! Eddie and I can go to the kitchen to get Georgie’s medicine while Ben, you can go with Richie to the stereo.”
Ben was quiet for a moment until slowly nodded his head. “Okay, if you think it will work. He wrapped his arms around his wife holding her close.
“I’m sure. Lexi is going to have a talk about all of this!”
Richie pulled his husband to the side while Ben and Beverly were talking. “Are you okay with doing this?”
Smiling at the dear man and taking his husband’s hands, Eddie stood up on his toes and kissed his cheek. “Rich, you make me willing to try anything. I’m braver than I think, right?”
“Yeah, I know,” Richie nodded, brushing his along the cheek he had a faded scar on. “You know I worry.”
“Isn’t that what I’m supposed to do?”
Giggling, Richie kissed his sweet lips. Even after all these years it still felt like the first time. “Do you think we’re spending too much time together?”
“Watch it, Trashmouth,” Eddie warned, but the smile poked through anyway. “But, I feel like we haven’t been spending as much time together,” he said, frowning. So did Richie. His hands drifted down Eddie’s body, stopping near the line of his pants.
“Is it my inventions? I know I’ve gone a little crazy with all these inventions ‘cause of this identity crisis for the last ten years but I love you so much. That is never going to change. I’ll stop inventing if it makes you feel better.”
Richie shook his head. “No, Eddie, I want you to be happy.” A thought drifted into his mind. “You’re happy, right?”
“Yes! More than I thought I’d ever be. We have two beautiful kids who are having a party right now, but they’re great! We’ve done a wonderful job. And you make me feel like me. I love that about you. Which is why we should have a date night right after I make us big again.”
They shared another kiss, briefly pressing their foreheads together. “Aren’t you already big?”
“What?”
“You know, you’re already big,” Richie whispered mischievously so Ben and Beverly wouldn’t hear. “Unless you’ve gotten bigger and want to show me something.”
Once Eddie understood the context of what he was saying, he playfully pushed his husband away. “You are something else!”
“Hey, you married me, babe!”
Ben and Beverly looked up from their conversation, smiling. “Do we even want to know what you’re saying?”
“Not unless you’re up for a challenge, Benny Boy!”

“I can’t believe I didn’t realize it was you.”
Ben smiles and absently runs his thumb along the back of Beverly’s hand. “Big Bill’s pretty charismatic, I don’t blame you for thinking it was him.”
Bev blows a raspberry and ruffles his hair, sticking out her tongue. “Oh shush, new kid,” she laughs. “You Got It.”
Ben grins at the New Kids on the Block song title drop, and Bev grins back at him, as they fall into a comfortable and casual cuddle. After a moment he sighs. “It took us a while, but at least we figured it out, unlike some people.”
Bev makes a curious little hum. “What people?” she asks. Ben blinks down at her in surprise.
“What people?” he repeats. Bev nods, so he chuckles. “Uh, Richie and Eddie?” he says, like it’s obvious.
“What?!” Bev practically screeches, spinning to look him face to face. “Richie and Eddie?!”
“Yeah?” Ben says, surprised but amused. “I mean, Richie for sure, but I’m like, eighty percent sure Eddie is—“
“Richie and Eddie?!” Bev cries out again. “Our Richie and Eddie?! Since when?!”
“Since middle school, at least,” Ben laughs. “I thought it was obvious!”
“No!” Bev gasps, looking like her entire world has just flipped upside down. “I mean, yeah, okay, maybe I can kinda see it looking back, but…” She shook her head. “How did you know?”
“Lovesick recognizes lovesick,” he says with a shrug. “I don’t think Eddie realized, well, anything that was happening around him, honestly, but Richie was absolutely smitten. It was adorable.”
“Oh my god,” Bev breathes, and then goes quiet, and Ben can practically see the gears turning as a mischievous little smirk creeps across her lips. “We need to meddle,” she declares.
Ben cringes, but it’s definitely more of a grin. “Do we?”
“Uh, absolutely! Call for reinforcements,” she says, beaming, “let’s play matchmaker.”

"Richie needed to talk. Bad. Cuz if he didn’t then the image of Eddie in those stupid shorts was actually going to kill him. Stan was out of the picture on account of the fact that he was a traitor to the likeness of Richie’s everywhere. So, he went with the second best option. Not that she had to know that." - or, richie is pining and goes to bev who is babysitting at the time

“This is pretty much everything I’ve ever wanted, do you know that?” Richie asked and he punctuated the end of his rhetorical question with a kiss to the back of Eddie’s hand. “Real friends, writing my own jokes,” he said and he paused only briefly before saying, “you.”
“I make the list?” Eddie asked.
“Eds,” Richie said and when he didn’t make eye contact, Eddie knew he was working himself up to making some confession. “That list wouldn’t exist without you.”

I wish I knew more about architecture or interior design. I long for an AU with Ben and Bev in a Architecture Digest video. I wish to write a moment about how they decided to share a home office, because they make each other more creative. Ben looks over at at her and says "She inspires me."

Richie stood behind Eddie, a wide grin spreading across his face as he held a comb in his hand. "I'm trying to fix your hair, so hold still," Richie playfully scolded, his voice laced with affection.
Eddie rolled his eyes but complied, turning slightly to face his husband. "My hair didn’t need fixing! It was yours that’s a trainwreck! And you better not make it worse, Trashmouth!" he teased, unable to hide the fondness in his voice.
Richie chuckled and ran the comb through Eddie's soft locks, his fingers occasionally brushing against his scalp. It was a simple act, but it held a deep intimacy that only they could understand. When Richie was a kid, his mother was not patient or gentle when it came to brushing his hair. The brush picked roughly at the knots, making his scalp ache for the rest of the day.
As Richie meticulously adjusted Eddie's hair, he couldn't help but recall the countless times he had teased his friend about his meticulous grooming habits back in Derry. He used to joke about Eddie's fanny packs and how his hair always had to be perfect. But now, as they stood together as adults, Richie realized how much he adored those quirks and how they had become an integral part of who Eddie was.
Eddie watched his boyfriend’s reflection in the mirror, a soft smile tugging at the corners of his lips. Despite the years that had passed since their terrifying encounter with Pennywise, Richie still had a way of making him feel safe and loved. It was a feeling he cherished every day.
Finished with his task, Richie placed the comb on the bathroom counter and turned to face Eddie, his eyes shimmering with affection. "There you go, Mr. Perfect," he said, his voice filled with a mix of playfulness and adoration.
Eddie blushed, his gaze meeting Richie's. "Thanks, Trashmouth. We should get going now. We don’t have a lot of time," he replied, his voice filled with sincerity.
Richie closed the distance between them, his arms encircling Eddie in a warm embrace. "Do you think Ben and Bev would hold their wedding for us?" he teased, his eyes lingering towards the bed.
Although Eddie couldn’t resist Richie’s affection, he shook his head to resist his intentions. Later, he said in his mind. “We just fixed your hair. You’re going to look like Big Foot’s brother.”
They stood there, wrapped in each other's arms, cherishing the love they had fought so hard to preserve, their own version of happily ever after. They were attending Ben and Beverly’s wedding today, another love story that had its falters due to Pennywise’s curse against Derry.
Richie nuzzled his face into the crook of Eddie's neck, his voice muffled but filled with mischief. "Come on, Eds. We've got time for a quick detour," he whispered, his warm breath sending shivers down Eddie's spine.
Eddie chuckled softly, his fingers gently tracing patterns on Richie's back. "You're insatiable, Richie. We have important things to attend to, remember?" he replied, a mix of playfulness and affection in his voice.
Richie pulled back slightly, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Yeah, yeah, important things. But we deserve a little fun, don't we?" he countered, his lips curling into a playful grin.
Eddie couldn't help but smile, his heart swelling with love for the man who had brought so much joy and laughter into his life. Richie had a way of making even the most mundane moments feel like an adventure, and Eddie cherished every second of it.
As much as Eddie was tempted to give in to Richie's playful advances, he gently extricated himself from the embrace, a hint of reluctance in his eyes. "We really should get going, Richie. Ben and Bev have been waiting for us," he said, a touch of regret in his voice.
Richie pouted playfully, his eyes widening in mock disappointment. "Fine, Mr. Responsible. But you owe me a rain check," he replied, waggling his eyebrows suggestively.
Eddie rolled his eyes, but a soft chuckle escaped his lips. "Deal," he said, his voice filled with warmth.
Hand in hand, they made their way out of the room. As they stepped into the day, their hands intertwined, Richie and Eddie embraced the future that lay before them.
Eddie took a breath. That moment will come, he thought to himself. Just when to ask the love of his life to marry him was a tough question.
Something I may continue. Let me know what you think!

Following the death of his brother in 1991, Bill Denbrough enrolls at Kenduskeag Preparatory Academy for the 1992-1993 school year with a plan to find Georgie's killer. There, he meets Eddie Kaspbrak, Stan Uris, Richie Tozier, Beverly Marsh, Mike Hanlon, and Ben Hanscom. Together they seek to find and destroy the demon that killed Georgie. But things start to fall apart for the Losers CLub when Bill begins to blur the line between justice and revenge, and it seems that Georgie's killer clown may win after all. . . .

Somehow, Ben, Mike, and Eddie get embarrassingly into pickleball a year or two after Derry, and are delighted to find that Patty is already a devoted and established Picklehead herself, so they have an even group of four to play.
They meet up every other Sunday morning at a small park near the modest apartment Mike rents on Bill’s dime in LA where all the Losers eventually found themselves, happy to be the farthest away from Derry they could be while still in the continental the United States.
They usually go out to brunch after playing for an hour or so, sometimes joined by the other Losers, but more often than not just Stan, who likes to go to the park to bird watch while the others play.
They’ve all tried their hand at the game at least once, with Richie and Bill coming out at the top of the Least Athletic list, to no one’s surprise, and Bev ends up having deadly accuracy, when she is able to actually get the ball over the net, at least. She and Richie usually skip the physical activity and head right to brunch, but they do come every so often to ogle Ben and Eddie, though they always refuse to admit that’s why they’re there.
Of the regulars, Mike is easily the best, with Eddie not far behind; but Eddie tends to let his anger get the better of him and is constantly hitting balls out of bounds and getting even madder. Ben is usually just there to have fun and hang with his friends, but when he and Patty team up they’re unbeatable.
Anyone that gets stuck with Bill as a partner when he comes is pretty much guaranteed to lose. Bill has yet to realize this and still gets offended when no one wants to be his partner, so Ben usually ends up falling on that sword, because he’s a sweetheart.
They are somehow both the darlings and the enemies of all the other, older pickleballers at the park.

“You’ve been staying with Ben and Bev?” Richie asked, dumbly.
“Yeah, you idiot,” Eddie said with a short, stiff laugh. “I mentioned it at dinner.”
“The whole time?” he asked. “Since Derry?”
“About then, yeah,” Eddie said, and he struggled to pull his strap higher onto his good shoulder with his only hand, hyperextending his thumb in a way that looked almost painful. “Ever since I filed for divorce.”
Everything Richie thought that he knew about how Eddie had been spending the weeks since Derry reworked itself in his mind.
