Dang, I thought you would be better at critical thinking. You totally can lower BMR, and what happens first is that your body will lower its body temperature (to save energy). Despite being 300 pounds on a summer day, you will feel very cold. For someone who keeps preaching about who benefits from what, you don't seem to want to think about who benefit from stuff like CICO (hint: weight watchers, weight loss shows).
Show me how CICO helps to balance ghrelin and leptin. How come the vast majority of people who do CICO end up getting hungrier and hungrier? I lost weight and entered healthy BMI despite not really changing my calories (2k a day), hw do you explain that? I managed to lower my insulin resistance, thus actually using my stored fat.
Because a healthy adult male with an office job will already burn 2300-2500 calories with no exercise, lmao
Unless you're a short inactive woman there's little reason to ever dip below 1800
Most people quit CICO for the same reason they quit all other diets - they lose motivation and get back to their old habits. People quit keto for the same reason all the time. That's literal FA logic for why ALL diets don't work
If your body lowers your temperature significantly enough to lower your BMR, you're goddamn dying
People feel cold while dieting because they're shit at micros and don't get enough iron, it has nothing to do with BMR
Who the hell is profiting off of me counting a few things in my head and walking around Moscow all day
And do you really think your Dr Fung doesn't profit from all those YouTube views and book sales?

As they say “the first step is always the hardest, but it'll get easier after that”, yeah, true.
I just hit 7-days streak on my now "serious" weight loss journey.
The first 2 days were the hardest, but I got used to it on the third day - the discomfort feeling of hunger. Now when I feel the hunger, I always tell myself that it is now eating my stored fats, something I should be happy about, it will pass, and I just have to trust the process.
I gained 20kg within 20 years of my married life, and now I wish to get back to my old healthy weight again. It’s time to stop abusing my body before it’s too late.
I don’t follow a daily schedule, I woke up and sleep whenever I wanted, so it’s hard to set a specific time schedule for intermittent fasting diet. What I did is that I set a rule of at least 20 hours fasting time before my next meal, and the longer hours on fasting, the better.
I want a sustainable diet, and I see IF (intermittent fasting) + CICO (calories in calories out) with OMAD (one meal a day) is the one for me. I set no food restrictions, just on smaller quantity this time, so as not to go beyond my daily calorie intake limit of 1200 calories. I still get to eat all the foods I love, so no cheat days needed - I just had to wait for my eating time window. I noticed that when you restrict yourself on certain foods that you usually love to eat, the harder it is to continue the diet. You’ll end up craving all the more.
It was my first week, so I wasn’t that hard on myself. It’s more on letting myself adjust to this new eating lifestyle. I did not do any exercises for the time being. I plan to continue exercising after my second week. And longer fasting time of at least 23 hours on this second week. *fingers crossed* haha
Aside from the weight loss benefit, I'm after for the other benefits - the mental clarity, and autophagy.
Last year, I experienced BPPV (Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo) twice. And this year, I experienced migraine for 13 days straight - it was hell, and both had something to do with my brain!!
I would woke up daily with some headache, and feeling groggy, then sudden head movement makes me dizzy.
After experiencing migraine, for some unknown reasons I become apathetic, and I’ve been trying to figure out and counsel myself of what’s wrong with me. That’s how I come up that I need to cleanse my body from all the toxins and bad stuff that have piled up inside me. So comes IF.
I noticed just few days on IF, I now would woke up feeling refreshed and no more headaches anymore. It’s a bliss! I don't even feel hunger upon waking up too, like I usually do.
I’m glad to come aboard this journey, and I’m so excited for more results. It would then be the greatest gift I have to give to myself. =)
And.. I’m so thankful for my husband Kyle for the support and motivation. He’s such a good cheerleader. Thank you bb..😌😚🥰

It's supreme entitlement. That and a personal theory of mine being that leftist white women no longer feel oppressed enough and are starting to see their minority status slip away. That's why 90% of FAs are white women (or non transitioning, female presenting afabs).
Also, I'd like to add that obesity is far more complicated than "eat broccoli and walk". I mean yes at the end of the day, cico rules, but at it's core obesity is very much a psychological issue and so it's much harder to manage. As someone who was once obese, and now at a much healthier weight, I very much believe that obesity is a chronic issue. One that one doesn't simply recover from but can put it in remission. I'm still a fat man at heart and will need to keep a close eye on my diet until the day I die.
As for companies, I very much agree that FAs are easily winning them over but it's not at all surprising. Streaming services, fast food restaurants, junk food suppliers, etc. All benefit from a movement that says it's perfectly fine to sit around all day and stuff yourself. And don't get me started on how much the health industry stands to profit in the US. And even if companies can't directly profit from this movement, they can in being allies like they do by plastering the rainbow everywhere during (and only during) pride month.
The way fat activists ignore sound science both pisses me off and worries me. People actually believe fat has health benefits, and more than likely pass narrative on to others. What is this movement and psuedoscience going to result in? If I can wager a guess, increased rates of obesity, diabetes, and cancer.
Is healthphobic a thing? Certainly seems like it.
It’s so frustrating that literal scientists that have done years of research and have more than enough proof are being shut down and turned a blind eye towards. There is nothing to gain from lying on their part either so it makes no sense that fat activists go against them.
There is no benefit from being obese, the only study I have read that shows some kind of benefit is that over weight people have bigger chances of survival if a famine occurs. But I don’t think that is true. And that over weight people can build muscle faster since the body has a lot of extra energy and resources.
Healthphobic, gymphobic, sciencephobic, Brandy Melvillephobic, positive changephobic. All seem like terms that actually can be used un ironically these days.

reblogged your post
“Hey so I'm looking at starting the Keto diet. Do you have any advice for like recipes or ingredients? Like maybe a good...”
in response to your retag re: beer:
beer usually DOES have a ton of carbs, but some US brands have lite beers with a manageable amount. budweiser select, michelob ultra, and natty lite, for example are all <5g carbs per 12oz bottle. you’re definitely not gonna be able to enjoy that craft double cream stout, but if you’re careful you can still have wings & beer with your buds (just a lot more wings than beer lol)
addendum: keto is also a very effective weight loss/management diet because it’s relatively easy to maintain vs low-fat CICO diets, and the mental/health benefits make it very rewarding as well!

The Ultimate Guide to Successful Weight Loss with CICO Diet
Weight loss– the eternal quest for a slimmer silhouette is a never-ending one. Fads and potions abound, promising quick fixes. But what if there were a simpler, more knightly approach? Enter the CICO diet, the brave champion against excess weight!
CICO Diet: Champion of Calorie Control
CICO, or "Calories In, Calories Out," is a fundamental principle, not a specific diet. Imagine your body as a mighty castle. Food is your incoming supply – the delicious feasts you consume. Calories are the units used to measure this supply. Your body also burns calories throughout the day – your basal metabolic rate (BMR), the energy used for basic functions, and additional calories burned through activity. This outgoing flow is akin to the castle's defenders, constantly repelling invaders (calories).
The Quest for Calorie Control
Here's where the CICO diet shines. To conquer unwanted weight, you need to create a calorie deficit. This means ensuring your "Calories In" are less than your "Calories Out." It's like having fewer attackers than defenders – your castle becomes leaner and stronger!
CICO Diet: Your Tools for Success
● Track Your Calories:
Knowledge is power! Use apps or journals to record your food intake and estimate calorie expenditure. This awareness is your trusty sword and shield.
● Embrace Delicious Variety:
CICO doesn't restrict food groups. You can savor pizza and still lose weight, as long as it fits your calorie budget. Think of it as a diverse army, with healthy options as your loyal knights.
● Move Your Body:
Exercise burns calories, further boosting your "Calories Out." It's like calling in reinforcements – cardio becomes your cavalry, strength training your archers.
Benefits of the CICO Diet
The CICO diet approach to weight management offers several advantages for those looking to lose weight:
Flexibility:
CICO doesn't restrict specific foods or food groups. As long as you maintain a calorie deficit (burning more calories than you consume), you can enjoy the foods you love in moderation. This can make CICO an easier diet to stick with compared to restrictive plans.
Weight Loss Potential:
The core principle of CICO aligns with the basic science of weight loss: creating a calorie deficit. By tracking your calorie intake and ensuring it's lower than what your body burns, you will lose weight.
Awareness and Education:
The CICO diet can be an eye-opening experience. Tracking calories helps you understand the varying calorie content of different foods. This newfound awareness empowers you to make informed choices about your diet.
Cost-Effective:
Following the CICO diet doesn't require purchasing expensive diet products or meals. You can implement it using free calorie-tracking apps or websites.
Sustainable Weight Management:
CICO isn't a quick fix, but it can promote sustainable weight loss. By learning healthy portion control and mindful eating habits, you can develop long-term strategies for maintaining a healthy weight.
Freedom of Choice:
You control what you eat, not a rigid meal plan. It's like having a customizable suit of armor, tailored to your preferences.
Nutrition perfectionism can be counterproductive. It might lead to constant worry about food or weight, guilt trips over what you eat, or a cycle of restrictive diets. These signs could indicate an unhealthy relationship with food or an eating disorder. Remember, disordered eating and eating disorders don't discriminate.
Weight loss in some cases, is not just about overeating, it happens due to suppressed trauma inside. There is more to your weight loss journey. Only a holistic doctor can help you achieve the desired results.

The 28-calendar year-previous – who goes by the screen title “_whateverforever” – exposed she’d dropped from 14st 3lbs, to a a lot healthier 10st 6lbs for her 5ft 6in body. Sharing a right before and soon after picture, she exposed: “These final ten lbs . are holding on, but I’m nevertheless damn proud of what I’ve achieved in the 365 days involving these two pictures.” The slimmer exposed she’d managed to drop the lbs . by applying the CICO diet, which is one more title for calorie counting.
CICO stands for “calories in, calories out” and will allow dieters to only consume what they want, so extensive as the range of calories they take in is less than the calories you melt away off.
The dieter also employed intermittent fasting.
Are they risk-free?
According to dietitian Sonya Angeline, a spokeswoman for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietics, the CICO diet: “Meets the requires of people today who ‘want to have their cake and consume it, too’ as extensive as the piece is not far too huge.”
A calorie refers to a device that actions vitality. Calories are typically employed to evaluate the vitality contents of food items and drinks.
Calorie counting can be sophisticated, as calories are necessary to perform essential functions, these kinds of as supplying vitality to the mind, kidneys, lungs, coronary heart and anxious process.
The entire body also uses calories for digestion and actual physical activity.
It is advised that the average girl consume about 2000 calories for every working day to retain, whilst males are necessary to consume 2500 day by day.
Despite the fact that this is the advised day by day allowance, slimmers do really will need a calorie deficit to reduce body weight. This is since excess vitality is saved as fat in the entire body, thus dieters will need to melt away much more calories than they consume to drop the lbs ..
According to healthline.com, females can consume 1500 calories to reduce one particular pound of body weight a week, whilst males can consume 2000.
Some scientific studies that have been performed on fasting have demonstrated some promising added benefits, with it joined to the enhancement of blood sugar stages and coronary heart health.

Weight loss: Woman loses 6.5 stone - what diet plan did she use?
New Post has been published on https://bestrawfoodrecipes.com/weight-loss-woman-loses-6-5-stone-what-diet-plan-did-she-use/
Weight loss: Woman loses 6.5 stone - what diet plan did she use?
When it comes to losing weight, there are many diet plans slimmers can try. From the low-carb keto diet, to going teetotal like Good Morning Britain star Susanna Reid, there are many ways which have proven to be successful with weight loss. One Reddit user managed to lose almost 7st on this diet plan, and she has shared her incredible transformation on the social media site. The 23-year-old woman – who goes by the screen name of “telepatheticc” – revealed she’d slimmed down from 16st 7lbs to just over 9st. Uploading a before and after photo, she joked: “The difference between 95lbs and a tan.”
What diet did she use?
The slimmer revealed she’d managed to lose weight with a combination of low-carb foods, intermittent fasting and the CICO diet, which is another name for calorie counting.
She said: “I did cico mainly, but also low carb and intermittent fasting. Didn’t really exercise a lot, just incorporated daily walks of like 45 min to an hour. I mainly focused on my diet.”
CICO stands for “calories in, calories out” and allows dieters to simply eat what they want, so long as the number of calories they consume is less than the calories you burn off.
According to dietitian Sonya Angeline, a spokeswoman for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietics, the CICO diet: “Meets the needs of people who ‘want to have their cake and eat it, too’ as long as the piece isn’t too big.”
The Reddit user went on to explain her intermittent fasting schedule, saying: “I would eat lunch around 12 or 1, and my last meal would be around 6 or 7. I wasn’t super strict about it but it felt very natural for me to skip breakfast. As soon as I got out of the habit of eating out of boredom it was a lot easier during the evenings too.”
Is CICO and intermittent fasting safe?
Calorie counting can be complicated, as humans need calories to perform basic functions, such as providing energy to the brain, kidneys, lungs, heart and nervous system.
Food is needed to fuel every day tasks, therefore getting the right amount of calories a day is important to keep energy levels up.
It’s recommended that the average woman eat about 2000 calories per day to maintain, while men are required to eat 2500 daily.
However, slimmers need a calorie deficit to lose weight. This is because excess energy is stored as fat in the body, therefore slimmers need to burn more calories than they eat to shed the pounds.
According to healthline.com, women can eat 1500 calories to lose one pound of weight a week, while men can eat 2000.
Some studies that have been done on fasting have shown some promising benefits, with it linked to the improvement of blood sugar levels and heart health.
However, no diet is without its risk, and fasting can lead to extreme feelings of hunger, shakiness, brain fog, fatigue, feelings of weakness, an inability to concentration, and binge eating.
Healthline.com revealed that fasting can be particularly dangerous for those with health conditions like diabetes.
The site reads: “Fasting can also be very dangerous if you have any medical conditions, such as diabetes or hypoglycemia. Some people may be able to adjust quickly to only eating one meal a day, while others may have difficulty going that long without calories. Everyone is different.”
