I’ve learned to wait for the boost of energy I get from my morning coffee. I took the garbage out, packed my chemo bag, did laundry, washed the guest room bedding and put it back on, printed my check list, arranged all my meds in a pill box (something new I’m trying because I forgot to take them even when I thought I had), watered the plants and marinated some beef and chicken to grill later on tonight for quick bites of protein. I hired someone from TaskRabbit to come and put together these big outdoor storage cabinets which will be my home improvement project for this round.
I’m dreading this next infusion, the tears come when I start thinking about it, so I don’t let myself think about it - why would I? How does that help me? It doesn’t. Instead, I’m going to check as many things off my list as possible, plan a fun day with my friend tomorrow who is flying in for this next one. I’m going to dream about the fun things I’m going to do after this is over. I’m going to be thankful that I have most of my hair and I’ve had such a relatively positive experience. That my cats are healthy, that I have family who loves me and I love them. That I have a job to go back to. Medical benefits. Being thankful prevents my mind from being afraid.
Our contractor built the storage bench for the breakfast nook, and we are obsessed with them. My sister found these cool ultra-suede cushions on sale which come tomorrow, and we also found super cheap tables on Wayfair. I hope it all comes together but we are close to being done. She is painting more of the outside trim today, set up a little IKEA desk and chair for the upstairs and we found a super cool entryway table for downstairs that was 70% off (so many deals right now). Last thing is building a little portable ladder we can use to get down to the beach a little easier, and an outdoor fire pit.

I’ve gone to see the whales almost everyday. . This video is a whale tail slapping, it stuns the anchovy on top of the surface so they are easier to scoop up. It was pretty far out so this is zoomed in - easily a 60,000lb animal. What a joy to my soul, many of them are so close to shore, you can smell their whale breath (rotten fish 🤮). I love them so much. I hope they stick around awhile longer.

A laptop that employs augmented reality glasses as a display was called the Spacetop G1 system, and it was shown to a thousand productivity pioneers by the tech firm Sightful last year.
The upgraded Gen 1 device removes the requirement for the user to stoop over a tiny screen when working remotely on a laptop by placing a 100-inch virtual display directly in their eyes.

They have two OLED display screens, a 50° field of vision, a 90Hz refresh rate, and very crisp text rendering.
The glasses enable Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 5G, and a 5MP camera. They also contain a microphone for use in online meetings.

From aesthetics alone the skeleton does many things for the necromancer. A clear benefit is simply in the knowledge of the subject being a dead thing in and of itself. With any variation of the corpse from zombie to revenant there can be doubts at a glance as to what one is dealing with but moving bones are distinct at most distances and let a person know that any harm they deal to it, accidental or otherwise, wont hurt a living thing. On the other side, the person seeing the skeleton will know that it won't feel pain and has no nervous system holding it back in how strong it will strike someone else. This functions as a form of deterrence from combat as well as telegraphs the danger of handling the skeleton beyond its designated task.
The skeleton, contrary to common sense, is less cost effective than a zombie in terms of raising. The mechanism of imprinting magic upon a corpse via its soulless form means that with less material there, there is more work and more raw magical structure needed to maintain the skeleton. This being said, the zombie will decay and are a short term solution sonits better to invest as a skeleton will be cost effective over time and has the added benefit of not smelling awful. Many an old necromancer cut their noses off and burned their sinuses not just to resemble a corpse in their horde as camouflage, but more so to kill the smell of working with so many zombies.
At an average weight of 20 pounds, the human skeleton is very portable if a single servant is needed and one is conserving their magic between uses. This does covert an unit of 100 servants to about a ton, which could staff a mansion easily and handle all tasks besides handling guests and the cooking for obvious reasons. Like with other skeletons, a human skeleton can utilize their ribs as a means of storage or carrying tools to keep their hands free. Special tools could easily be made for a gardener or a maid to reach in and tend to their tasks while having free hands and look presentable if a chest cover is used to tastefully hide dirty or worn tools.
Besides issues of durability which can be addressed with coatings and reinforcements to the structure of the skeleton, bones tend to still be sturdy even when dry and set, only they cannot self-repair so any damage will need prevented or filled as it occurs. Skeletons are not an unlimited resource, as are bodies in general, but those gathered and maintained properly in a closed and respectful environment can last a lifetime.
