Old Azureus's manner of welcoming people was a silent rhapsody. Ecstatically beaming, slowly, tenderly, he would take your hand between his soft palms, hold it thus as if it were a long sought treasure or a sparrow all fluff and heart, in moist silence, peering at you the while with his beaming wrinkles rather than with his eyes, and then, very slowly, the silvery smile would start to dissolve, the tender old hands would gradually release their hold, a blank expression replace the fervent light of his pale fragile face, and he would leave you as if he had made a mistake, as if after all you were not the loved one—the loved one whom, the next moment, he would espy in another corner, and again the smile would dawn, again the hands would enfold the sparrow, again it would all dissolve.
- Vladimir Nabokov, from "Bend Sinister"

4 days until the launch of my Bend Sinister one-shot horror comic on Kickstarter!
I shared the full cover yesterday, and today, I want to share the variant cover. I hand-painted this using ink and red acrylic paint. The variant cover will be one of the reward tier options, and a red foil art print will also be available as an add-on. I hope you like it!
In the meantime, here's the link to the Bend Sinister prelaunch page. Be sure to hit that "Notify me on launch" button!

Banger of the Week: Bend Sinister - Price You Pay
Banger of the Week: @Bend_Sinister - Price You Pay 20 years in, and the Canadian's rockers are still writing songs more electrifying then their younger peers @cbayrecords @RPMPromotion #newmusic #rock #rocknroll #priceyoupay #bendsinister
Twenty years into their career, and Canada’s Bend Sinister are still cranking out jams more electrifying than most of the young bands coming up. So, my Bend Sinister Kickstarter launches in FIVE DAYS (9/12) and I'm SO excited! This is the first campaign I've run on my own in 3 years! So, over the next few days, I want to share some art and teasers. To start, here's the full cover I drew without the HOSPICE jacket, and I'll share the variant cover tomorrow.
In the meantime, here's the campaign's prelaunch page! Hit the "Notify me on launch" button to get notified the moment my campaign goes live!

Quote
Man shouldn’t be able to see his own face – there’s nothing more sinister. Nature gave him the gift of not being able to see it, and of not being able to stare into his own eyes. Only in the water of rivers and ponds could he look at his face. And the very posture he had to assume was symbolic. He had to bend over, stoop down, to commit the ignominy of beholding himself. The inventor of the mirror poisoned the human heart.
