I was wondering if I could request the 141 x Male reader, they know alot of medical like they use their knowledge of the human body against anyone whom threatens them (or people the care about). They aren't a medic are doctor parday but have extensive knowledge of the field that helps the team. Seem cold uncaring and ruthless but if anyone of them is injured its like a total switch of 'mom bear mode' checking them over the gentle hands and worry.

From then on he watched everything you did, even noticing that you took care of some of the rookies that ended up with minor cuts and damage that wasn't enough to bother the medics with.

Needless to say, he also ended up coming to you for some patch ups, mostly when he wanted to keep his new damage a secret from Price.

I decided to use the prompt from her celebration post "Happy Birthday Love" and write a little one shot using the Dark!Tommy from my series "Killing Me Softly" This little story takes place around chapter seven. " Wakey wakey" Tommy said standing next to the bed with a cigarette hanging from his mouth staring down at you.

" Tommy, what...what is it?" You asked, sitting up as you pulled the bed covers up to your chin.

" It's your birthday!" he replied a smirk forming on the corner of his mouth as he grabbed you by the arm, pulling you out from under the covers."

"My birthday was last month" you said stumbling over your feet as he pushed you out the bedroom door.

" Yes well, we couldn't celebrate it last month could we? Your little stunt put an end to my plans. Go!" he said as he held onto your shoulder marching you down the stairs with him into the living room.

Opening the door your eyes widened in shock as your head snapped to Tommy who was stood next to you, watching you.

" Tommy wha...what's going on?" You asked, tears welling in your eyes as you looked back and forth between Tommy and the people seated in front of you.

" It's the Riley's darling!" He said joyfully as a devilish smile spread across his face. " Mr Riley, Mrs Riley and baby Riley" he said pointing to each of them as you looked at the terror growing in their eyes whilst two of Tommy's men stood behind them, guns firmly grasped in their hands. "Thought it would only be proper to invite them here for your birthday since they helped you out in your time of...need" he seethed, bitterness in each word as he narrowed his eyes on them, smirking at their visible fear.

" Tommy..."

" What is it darling, you not happy to see them? he asked as he looked back at you, tears streaming down your cheeks. " Hello little man" Tommy said taking the baby from Mrs Riley's arms, bouncing him up and down in his hold as the little boy wailed in response. " Making you broody sweetheart?" Tommy chuckled as he glared at you. "Don't worry, I'll put a baby in you tonight. You'd like that wouldn't you, your belly swelling with my child?" Tommy said bluntly as his eyes roamed over your body, biting his bottom lip as the baby continued to cry in his arms.

" Yes Tommy" you nodded saying the words you knew he wanted to hear as your eyes darted to Mrs Riley's tears cascading down her face as she mouthed desperate pleas of help to you. "He wants his mother" you said as you took the crying child into your arms, handing him back to her.

"Fucking little brat" Tommy muttered under his breath as he turned to light another cigarette. "Mr Riley!" he said loudly turning around, instantly demanding everyone's attention. "Do you like to hunt?"

" Oh, no...I'm not much of a hunting man Mr Shelby" he replied swallowing harshly as he gripped his flat cap in his hand.

" Not a hunting man...what kind of man doesn't like to hunt?" he scoffed as he stared him down questioning everything about him. "The feeling you get when they're staring down the end of your gun, the fear in their face. Their life is in your hands. There's nothing better" he said turning to face you, his eyes piercing into yours as you swallowed harshly at his words, words you knew were meant for you. " Come on, we'll get you kitted out" Tommy said slapping his hands on his thighs as he walked over to him, leading him to the door as he nervously looked back at his wife one last time. " Mrs Riley, Frances will take you for some tea in the gardens. Y/N has not been feeling well, I'm afraid she won't be joining you" He said waving goodbye to the baby in her arms as one of Tommy's men led them out the door.

Frozen in place, tears burning your cheeks you watched Mrs Riley leave the room as Tommy slammed the door shut behind them. Storming over to you, Tommy grabbed the back of your neck, crashing his lips onto yours as his fingers dug into your soft skin. Breathlessly pulling away, a devilish smirk grew on his mouth as his darkened eyes pierced unforgivably into yours.

hi!! im working on a story that takes place at a 2012 public high school - the issue with that is that i was not in high school in 2012 lmao. do you have any tips on how to keep it feeling realistic?

Well, neither was I!! But here are some tips:

Define Your General Setting

Sure, high school has a different feel compared to an average town/city setting. However, it is still a part of the bigger community, and will be impacted by external factors.

What part of the world are your writing about? What's the general economy like? What's the most common occupation of the kid's parents? What's the prevailing fashion/art/music style?

Your teens will be impacted by the popular culture and trends of the time, so start by outlining the general setting!

Fashion

I think this is where schools have changed the most. There are going to be some overlaps between early 2010s and late 2000s, so if you think in the direction of Y2K fashion, it should fit.

On a general note, I think 2010s fashion was vibrant, with lots of colors and flashy items...

Side fringes and backcombed/straightened hair were still very popular

most girls had huge messy sock buns on top of their heads

boys had the Justin Bieber cut.

Jack Wills and Hollister were pretty popular, and a lot of girls had a Paul's Boutique jacket and a Jane Norman bag for their PE kit (or one of the Hollister bags with a topless guy on).

Converse were universally cool, and there were lots of imitation brands.

Open flannel shirt over a t-shirt was a pretty popular outfit.

Skinny jeans and band t-shirts

bright chunky rubber band bracelets.

Vans were cool among the alternative kids.

Getting different colours on your braces was cool.

Most of the boys had at least one of those t-shirts with the buttons and the mismatched cuffs.

School-uniform-wise, short ties with big fat knots were cool, and hard kids would pluck a stripe or two out of their tie.

Tucking in shirts was initially not cool, then it became cool to tuck at the front but not the back.

Lots of boys wore black trainers, and lots of girls wore those ballet pumps.

Girls doing their lips with their foundation, with a thick ring of black eyeliner and spidery clumpy mascara - and having a visible orange line where your foundation met your neck was common.

Multiple ear piercings were popular with the alternative crowd

Belly button piercings were big for girls

Just search up some pictures on Google, you should get plenty of "Early 2010s teen fashion starter pack"

Social Media

Smartphones were already popular, and with the introduction of Snapchat(2011) and Instagram(2010), the social media hype was just starting to boom

Facebook and Twitter were popular - basically everyone was on it

TikTok(2016) and Discord(2015) didn't exist yet

Phones were allowed in the classroom, but phones/laptops weren't an important part of school work like it is now.

Digital Devices

Phones-wise, most people had pretty basic dumbphones (although they were just called mobiles back then), and not everyone carried them all the time

Blackberry (BBM), Nokia, LG Cholate, iPhone if you're rich enough

Most kids were on PAYG phones, so you'd run out of credit sometimes (i.e. no more calls or texts) and have to go to a physical shop to top up. Nobody really had data, and there was always a moment of panic if you accidentally opened the web browser on your phone because it was so expensive. Wifi became a thing around 2012.

Slang-wise, Urban Dictionary is a good resource.

Fleek, peng and YOLO were popular with some crowds. Leetspeak was a thing online, especially in nerdy communities. Emoji were starting to take off

"Well...They seem healthy enough. Other than this one."

Badgerfern watched Aloesight, his expression grim as the medicine cat checked over the four kits lying by his belly. 

He knew. He knew it was bad timing. Peakpaw had died only the day before, and here he is bringing four new kits into camp. 

As if he were replacing her.

But he couldn't turn his back on them. They were his kits. How was he supposed to know Peakpaw was going to die?

A feeling of guilt crept up Badgerfern's spine at the thoughts that infested his mind. How could he think that way? 

It was only when Aloesight cleared his throat in annoyance that Badgerfern realized he was trying to speak with him.

"What? What's the matter?" He questioned, his ear flicking.

"You didn't hear a word I said, did you?" Aloesight grumbled. He sighed heavily. "By the stars...I was saying that this one," he gestured to one of the kits, a white she-kit with the smallest splash of black and ginger over her eye. "...She's paralyzed. It shouldn't affect her ability to become a warrior if she desires, but...I figured you would want to know."

Badgerfern opened his mouth to speak, but closed it again when Aloesight shook his head, his expression hardening. 

"I also asked you where these kits came from. Have you been sneaking off AGAIN? Especially after the death of your DAUGHTER!?" Aloesight's voice, usually blunt and stoic, had now formed into a snarl, the fur on his back bristling. "What kind of a father are you!? Why do you-"

"SHE'S WHAT?"

The agonizing wail pierced through the camp, making both toms freeze. 

"...Valleywave knows now." Aloesight murmured. He stood, tail lashing as he padded out of the nursery. "You better do everything in your power to fix this, Badgerfern. I can't help you this time." 

Badgerfern's heart sank. Looking down at the kits at his belly, he gave them each a gentle nudge with his nose before standing and making his way into the clearing.

Valleywave was collapsed onto the ground, wailing as if her own life was the one ending. Sunpaw sat beside her mother silently, her tail wrapped around her flank.

"...I'm sorry, darlin'." Silverbreak, who was sitting in front of Valleywave, meowed softly. She must've been the one to break the news. "We did ev'rything we could, but it just-"

"Where?" Valleywave asked between sobs, glaring up at Silverbreak. "Where did you put her?"

"She's somewhere safe, we-"

"Do not give my any excuse." Valleywave slowly rose to her paws, the usual light in her eyes gone as she stalked towards the silver she-cat. "Silverbreak, where is my DAUGHTER?"

Silverbreak crouched low to the ground, her ears flattened in submission. "We buried her." She murmured, barely even whispering as she wrapped her tail protectively around her body. "She's gone, darlin'. I'm so sorry."

Valleywave stood there for a moment, stunned and silent. She soon let out a horrible shriek, a sound that made Badgerfern freeze in his place and a chill go down his spine.

"NOOO!!" She screamed, beginning to pace around the clearing. "My baby, my baby, why!? WHY!?" She looked up at the sky. The normally full night sky was now dark and gloomy, as if StarClan itself had disappeared. "CURSE YOU!!" She shouted, her fur bristled. She began to uproot dirt and grass with her claws. "CURSES TO THE STARS!! YOU TOOK HER AWAY FROM ME!!!"

"Mama, please..." Sunpaw bumped her head against Valleywave's shoulder, attempting to guide the wailing she-cat towards the medicine den. "Aloesight can give you poppy seeds, and you can get some rest..."

Valleywave whirled around, glaring at Silverbreak with a fury in her eyes that would forever burn itself into Badgerfern's memory. "YOU DIDN'T LET ME SAY GOODBYE TO HER!!" She exclaimed, not even attempting to hide the snarl in her voice. She attempted to charge at Silverbreak, claws unsheathed, but was quickly stopped by Sunpaw. "YOU'RE HORRIBLE!! I'LL KILL YOU-!!"

Silverbreak remained low, looking up at Valleywave with genuine fear in her eyes. "P-please, I didn't...Valleywave, please-"

Ambershard stepped between Valleywave and Silverbreak. He glared at the tortie she-cat, lashing his tail. 

"Go to the medicine den now." He demanded, and Valleywave, still shaking in grief, obliged. She was flanked by Sunpaw, and the two disappeared into tbe medicine den.

Badgerfern slowly took a step back. He turned and went back into the nursery, where Mistlebrook was lying with his sleeping daughters. 

"Don't tell her," The large brown tom grumbled. "She's not in the right state. She'll see the kits when the time is right."

Badgerfern nodded, sinking into the comfortable nest of moss. He looked down at the kits, who seemed to have sensed their father's warmth and were now crawling towards his belly once more. He gently nudged the paralyzed she-kit closer to him.

"Do they have names?" Mistlebrook questioned, wrapping his tail around his own litter defensively. "Maybe that will take your mind off of things."

"Well, I have a few names in mind..." Badgerfern murmured. He looked down at the kits. "The black and white she-cat will be Pouncekit, and the white she-cat will be Larkkit."

"Any reason you chose those names?"

"I just liked how they sounded." Badgerfern replied. He turned his head to a small gray and white tom. "...He will be Ivykit."

"And the last one?" Mistlebrook gestured towards the final kit, a small black and white tom. "He looks exactly like you. You couldn't deny him if you wanted to."

Badgerfern hesitated, staring down at the last kit. He was an active little one, his head already lifted as he tried to look around the darkened nursery.

"...I will call him Fallenkit." Badgerfern soon said, giving his tail a quick lash.

"Fallenkit? Why?"

"Because if he is blessed with the title of leader one day, he will be named Fallenstar." Badgerfern's voice was a low growl. "He will serve as a reminder of what we lost today. The day the stars have turned their backs on us...The day the stars have fallen."

Pouncekit, Larkkit, Fallenkit, and Ivykit have joined NettleClan. Larkkit is paralyzed.

Valleywave is grieving. She cannot work under these conditions.

The Behemoth’s scream nearly pierces Mottledwhisker’s ears as it takes its leave, as slow as always to start moving. He can see Shimmerfeather and Emma cower in response on either side of him, but he stopped fearing the monstrous creature long ago. He stands tall and watches its long segmented body slither away down its wood and metal trail, roaring twice more before the tail fully disappears into the trees.

“I dunno how you stand it,” Shimmerfeather whines, shaking her head vigorously. “Them’s loud enough to make a deaf hare go mad.” She scratches her ear with her hind leg.

Emma hums her agreement, a rare frown forming on her face. “I also do not like the Behemoth. Are you certain they do not stray from their paths, Mottledwhisker? The smaller Monsters traipse through the forest with little care.”

Mottledwhisker nods. “They won’t leave the Thunderpath, I’m sure of it. I’ve never seen them hunt anywhere else. Come on, let’s get moving.”

It’s taken quite a few moons for Mottledwhisker to notice, but taking time to watch the Behemoth’s ritualistic patrolling, as well as leaning on his memory of living inside its belly, has made the Thunderpath relatively safe in terms of learning when best to cross it. Knowing when and how often it will appear has shaped the Colony’s patrols around its schedule, shifting from morning and evening patrols into sunhigh, evening, and moonhigh. In turn, he’s come to discover that while the Behemoth’s cries and blundering steps scare prey in all directions, it doesn’t take too long for the prey to wander back to their nearby burrows. It’s not a perfect system, but it’s one Mottledwhisker is aiming to perfect.

He leads the other two members of his patrol across the Thunderpath, leaping over each metal beam to avoid the lingering heat, trotting across loose gravel and rock before meeting the piney forest floor on the other side. Emma appears just after, with Shimmerfeather bringing up the rear.

“I been meanin’ to ask ya,” the oddly-colored molly calls, picking up extra steps to match Mottledwhisker’s in stride, “how come ya know so much ‘bout them creatures? I been ‘round seasons afore yer speckled face was whinin’ for yer mama’s milk, and I never even saw one when I’s livin’ in the Fallow Land.”

Mottledwhisker smiles, steering them around a fallen log before replying, “Well, it’s like how you know about the strange Monsters your old Twolegs use to tear up the dirt. I used to live in one, when I was a kit.”

Shimmerfeather snorts, her whiskers twitching in amusement. “No way ya did!” she says. “You’d be deader than dead sittin’ in the belly of one of them beasts!”

“He tells the truth,” Emma offers, appearing on Mottledwhisker’s other side. Her puffy tail arches over her back and swipes across his neck, sending an involuntary twitch down his spine. “I have met cats with a similar strip of leather bound around their throats. They hunt the mice that stow away within its body.”

Mottledwhisker whips his head around at her in shock. “You’ve met other cats like me? Why haven’t you said so before?”

Emma tilts her head to one side. “You have not asked,” she says simply.

Frustratingly, she’s not exactly wrong. He’ll have to ask her more about that when they return to camp.

“You serious then?” Shimmerfeather asks, her eyes as wide as two azure full moons. “Ya used to live in a Behemoth?”

The trees grow a little sparse up ahead, so Mottledwhisker turns where he knows will lead to their target. “I did, yeah. Like Emma says, I filled my belly on mice and other prey that would sneak on with the Twolegs that rode inside. If I did a good enough job, sometimes the Boss would give me special things like cream or scraps from their meals.”

“Ugh, that’s somethin’ I miss,” the molly moans, her ears drooping. “The Farmer used to leave the cow’s cream in a tin for all us mousers to drink just afore bed… Ya ever had cow’s cream, Emma? ‘S a magical thing.”

Emma chuckles softly, the sound nearly swallowed up by their steps. “I have not, actually. Most Twoleg foods do not smell appealing to me… What is it like?”

As Shimmerfeather goes on to excitedly explain the wonders of fresh cow’s cream, Mottledwhisker sets his attention on the small clearing coming into view ahead. It’s a space left in disarray by the Twolegs and the growling Monsters they carried around, with tree litter and various alien objects lying among multiple felled trees, now drying stumps in Greenleaf heat. He had wanted to make sure they were no longer camping here before investigating, and it seems to be as untouched as it was days prior. He lifts his tail over his back, and Shimmerfeather’s musings fall silent.

“Be careful here,” he reminds them, glancing back to make sure both cats are watching him. “The Monsters these Twolegs trained are incredibly dangerous. Keep your ears trained for any unusual noises.”

Both cats nod, and he drops his tail.

Silently, Mottledwhisker slinks out from the tree line, his ears on a constant swivel as he surveys the clearing. He steps carefully over broken tree branches, discarded pine boughs, shattered glass and shiny metal tins, long tendrils not too dissimilar to what Ferretpaw and Sablepaw wear on their bark sleds… He sniffs the air and the ground for any scents still hanging around, and his shoulders relax when he finds nothing fresher than he expects. He maneuvers around the space with less tension after that.

“Ya weren’t kiddin’,” Shimmerfeather calls, standing on top of a larger stump across the clearing. “There’s nothin’ left of these trees here. How hungry can a little critter like that be?”

“It wasn’t just one,” Mottledwhisker says. He frowns at the sheer amount of stumps in the vicinity; too many to count just from where he sits. “The Twolegs had entire packs of them chewing at their trunks. The large Monsters carried the rest of the trees away when they fell.”

Emma paws at something resembling a common Twoleg pelt, lifting it up to peek underneath before dropping it. “I do not like it here,” she says. “There is no food here, nor herb. I cannot see anything of use.”

In addition, the regular chirps and trills of the forest waking at sundown are far more distant from where they stand than before. It’s strange to hear near silence in a place that is always teeming with life. Admittedly, Mottledwhisker has never felt further from Fate’s blessings than in a place like this. Not since his arrival.

“Well,” he says eventually, squaring his shoulders, “we can safely assume the Twolegs won’t be coming here, considering how old the scents are. I think telling Glowstar—“ he pauses, catching himself momentarily. “I think telling Amberfuzz is a must. We should make sure other patrols check at least once a day, just to be certain they haven’t returned under our noses. Let’s continue on.”

Leaving the abandoned camp behind, the patrol continues on towards the southern-most border the Colony lays claim to, where it butts up along the Fallow Lands Shimmerfeather hails from. Mottledwhisker lets Shimmerfeather take the lead, and falls back to walk a few paces behind with Emma.

“How long did Glowstar say he would be gone for?” he asks.

Emma side eyes him. If she’s concerned, her face betrays nothing. “He did not say an exact amount of time, although I imagine he should arrive any day.”

“Did he tell you where he was going, or why? It’s strange for him to just up and leave like that. Even Oaktrail seemed confused about it.”

Emma trains her eyes ahead, but her ears remain trained on Mottledwhisker. “This is something you should ask Glowstar when he returns,” she says. “It is not my place to say.”

“Alright… I will always trust your judgement, Emma. I…” He thinks over his words for a moment. “I’m just worried about him is all. He hasn’t been the same since… You know. We can all tell.”

Emma hums thoughtfully. “Yes, that is true. Grief is a powerful thing; it warps the mind and scars the heart terribly, and it does so differently in everyone.” She looks back at Mottledwhisker, and her warm smile appears with ease. “Do not fret Mottledwhisker; he will soon learn to work with those scars instead of against. His heart simply carries more scars than he admits to.”

Not an entirely satisfying answer but it’s enough to end his prodding. He recovers the lead from Shimmerfeather, and they finish their patrol with little issue.

Last updated 05.11.2024 As a few people have come here recently, I wanted to make a post in which I will write a little about how I like to play, what I use most often and what are my must-haves in the game. This will be a bit of a resources/faq.

Am I WCIF friendly? Yes I am, text me I’ll be happy to help.

How do I like to play Sims 4? I like cozy vibe gameplay. I basically love everything about this game.

Maxis match or Alpha? Maxis match only!

What presets do I use? I use gshade, Gia by Kindlespice for screenshots and Luminescent by Hazelminesims for gameplay.

What do I use to edit photos? I lately started to edit my photos a little bit in Photopea, I use two of Hazelmine actions (Sharp, then Texture) but I don't always do that, I don't change colors or anything, it's all Gia preset.

What lightning mods do you use? I use Even Better In-Game lightning mod (Average) by Northern Siberia Winds and Sunblind by Softerhaze
