19th PH Travel Exchange in Bohol features via online B2B sessions
#PHnews: 19th PH Travel Exchange in Bohol features via online B2B sessions
TAGBILARAN CITY – The 19th edition of the Philippine Travel Exchange (PHITEX) commenced on Tuesday through a virtual gathering at the Bellevue Resort in Panglao, Bohol.
This year’s travel exchange carries the theme “PHITEX Pivots: Business Unusual”, seeing 161 resellers, 124 buyers, and 350 delegates gathered in one online platform for business-to-business (B2B) sessions and networking.
The event showcases the debut of Bohol Tourist contact tracing app and the five-day quarantine protocol for the 49 delegates that arrived in Bohol on Saturday.
Maria Anthonette Velasco-Allones, Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) chief operating officer, said PHITEX is the country’s biggest government-organized annual travel trade event since 1996, and has already averaged 190 buyers from 31 countries and 138 Philippine sellers.
Prior to Tuesday’s event, Governor Arthur Yap met with the stakeholders in a press briefing via zoom on Sept. 16, along with PHITEX organizers.
Allones said the 124 confirmed buyers come from all over the world including Australia, Brazil, Bulgaria, and other countries in Europe and in Asia, Russia, Africa, Vietnam, among other countries.
Meanwhile, the 161 confirmed sellers are from various areas in the country including Albay, Baguio, Batangas, Bohol, Boracay, Cagayan de Oro, Camarines Sur, Cavite, Cebu, Clark, Ilocos Sur, Iloilo, La Union, Manila, Masbate, Palawan, Tagaytay, Rizal, Samar, Sorsogon, Zambales, and Zamboanga City.
The Department of Tourism (DOT) highly considered Panglao as venue of the event as it is one of the first islands in the country to reopen to international tourists once travel restrictions were eased amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic, she said.
She cited the province's pool of dedicated leaders, low number of Covid-19 cases, beautiful beaches, resorts, dive spots, and other tourism attractions, and a new international airport.
Travel and other tourism events may have temporarily stopped because of the health crisis, but Allones said the country aims to drive the industry forward by staging the virtual edition of this year’s PHITEX.
“Amid the immense challenges for the tourism industry, TPB is leveraging on digital technology as a platform to sustain and explore new opportunities and markets. With this e-conference setup, we endeavor to update our tourism market stakeholders from all over the world with the latest Philippine tourism offerings,” she added.
One of the highlights of this year’s PHITEX is the Travel Exchange (TRAVEX), a series of exclusive business-to-business appointments between Philippine sellers and foreign buyers, happening for the first time in virtual booths.
Other activities include Philippines 360, a series of online games and quizzes that deal with Philippine culture and the arts.
A specially curated virtual tour of Manila, dubbed as the Philippines’ Capital of Fun, is also one of the event highlights, showcasing the city’s unique blend of old world and new culture. (PNA)

THE BELLEVUE RESORT BOHOL
Tumblr media
Upon arrival at the Bellevue Resort, we were greeted with “Welcome to Bellevue” while putting on a Bellevue necklace to each of us.
feeling namin, mga celebrity kami.hehe
honestly, ang sarap sa pakiramdam na binigyan kami ng ganitong salubong :)
Tumblr media
We requested for an Airport transfer since we have a Baby and Seniors travelling with us.
Tumblr media
Thankfully, it was a smooth, helpful and comfortable ride from the Airport to the Hotel.
And then, we were escorted to the reception.
Tumblr media
While I was seated while checking in (the reception tables were lowered, and so you are seated which is very helpful), someone came up to me and gave me a cold juice.
ahhh... refreshing. :)
Tumblr media
And then, minutes later, a personnel approached us again and gave us a wet cloth to make us feel more relaxed.
haaay, ang sarap lalo ng feeling.
Sobrang nakakatanggal ng pagod. :)
At this time, i felt so comfortable already (specially after hearing all the news on TV), it made me feel that we made a good choice with our hotel.
(here’s my short video of the Bellevue Resort at the arrival and reception area taken around 6am in the morning)
youtube
And then, we got our room keys! yes, pwde na makapagpahinga :)
this was our room - a Superior Twin Room.
We booked our rooms directly at the hotel thru phone. kasi we wanted to avail the 20% Senior Citizen discount, which the hotel has kindly given us.
Tumblr media
inside... its so cozy, spacious and relaxing :)
our beds are very soft and comfortable.
Tumblr media
on the next room was our Senior Parents’ room.
both rooms are the same, walang pinag-kaiba.
Tumblr media
but since we have a baby, we requested na pagtabihin ang beds namin. ayun, when we came back, magkatabi na sya plus, with a heart-shaped towels pa. sweet! :) Thank you po Bellevue Housekeeping Team! :)
(ahh...si Cassie gutom na kaya pina-milk ko muna bago ako nakapag-picture.hehe kaya photobomber sya.hehe)
Tumblr media
anyway, the bathroom has a bath tub and shower separately.
Tumblr media
and our room has a small veranda which can also be seen while inside the bathroom through the glass wall (with curtain) for additional view and extra light.
Tumblr media
the toiletries are complete with everything you’ll need.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
few minutes later after unpacking and resting, my Senior Parents who are celebrating their 40th Wedding Anniversary, got this sweet surprise! :)
Tumblr media
haaay - ang babait nila dito. nakakatuwa :)
thank you, thank you for this :)
after resting, we toured the hotel and this were all the amenities that we saw:
GAME ROOM - where you can play Computer Games...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
PLAY AREA for Kids
Tumblr media
and Kids at heart :)
Tumblr media
PS. no tokens needed here
Tumblr media
DVD Rentals
Tumblr media
PSP Rentals... all for FREE :)
Tumblr media
they also have a HUGE chess board
Tumblr media
and Billiard table (which i was not able to take photo).
All this can be use for FREE :)
We rested for the rest of the afternoon, allowing my Baby and Senior Parents to recharge for the next day’s activity.
But that night, a hotel personnel knocked on our door and gave us what they call Complimentray Sweets :)
Tumblr media
ang bait naman nila dito! :)
first day palang namin pero ang dami na nila binibigay samin :)
THANK YOU so much for this again :)
The following day, super energize na kami for a morning swimming :)
Tumblr media
their infinity pool is sooo lovely, something that the kids and adults can both enjoy :)
Tumblr media
i love their pool kasi it has a very shallow area where Babies and Toddlers can walk onto.
Tumblr media
photo above and below shows that my Baby Cassie is still standing..
Tumblr media
im still trying to fix her before i can bring her sa malalim
Tumblr media
lighter color yung tiles of shallow part, so you can differentiate the level of deepness of the pool.
Tumblr media
take note - the pool is heated, so you can enjoy swimming even at night.
Tumblr media
youtube
plus, they have their very own beach front with white sand, exclusive for their guests only.
Tumblr media
i appreciate that its beach front is exclusive - because its not crowded.
(hindi mahirap magpa-picture... at wala masyado photo bombers sa pictures nyo.hehe joke)
Tumblr media
pero seriously, sa tulad ko na may baby, mas mahirap habulin kapag madaming ibang tao sa paligid.
tska since mejo nahihiya akong mag-swimwear in public, mas naging komportable ako dito. :)
Tumblr media
although, there are times that the water here is on a low tide (like the photo above) and meron ngang mga sea urchins meters away from the resort which will hinder you from swimming there, i don’t mind. i still love the beach here.
why? because at noon, high tide starts. so you can somehow immerse yourself on the beach. sakin kasi, okay nako na nakakapagbabad ako at konting tampisaw sa tubig. langoy-langoy ng konti.
Tumblr media
yung area with sea urchins - mejo malayo pa naman from the resort kaya hindi naman na ako makakarating dun.
hindi naman kasi ako talaga lumalangoy sa dagat.
but if you are that type, you can have an Island hopping naman to the different beaches here in Panglao such as the Alona Beach or Virgin Island.
but since the resort has so much amenities to offer - its so hard to leave this beautiful place.
by the way, our daily Buffet Breakfast is held at the Lamian Restaurant from 6-10am :)
Tumblr media
there’s a long stretch of food choices here.
Tumblr media
from our Filipino favorites... at mga ulam sa kanin :)
Tumblr media
such as this - Pork Humba Boholano, sarap! :)
Tumblr media
plus the Dimsum and Egg station :)
Tumblr media
they also have salads, cold cuts...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
breads, waffles...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
juices and cereals...
Tumblr media
native chocolate...
Tumblr media
noodles... ang daming choices :)
Tumblr media
ang sarap ng daily breakfast ko. busog! :)
Tumblr media
how about FOOD for lunch and dinner?
although they are private and isolated, eating and dining naman was not a problem for us. why?
they have their very own restaurant - MAREA AL FRESCO
Tumblr media
which offers delicious and affordable dining experience.
ang laki ng servings nila - for a price of around Php 300-400 per dish, good for 2-3 pax na :)
kaya we sometimes had our late lunch or dinner on this huge “Kubo” restaurant.
Tumblr media
this is at the second level of Kubo, where they held their private events. the view here is so relaxing. :)
BUT - the Hotel also offers a FREE Shuttle Ride going to Alona Beach every 8pm daily. so if you want to get more food choices and experience good night life, you can reserve a seat at their shuttle by informing them ahead.
i remember, during our second night, a Hotel personnel knocked on our door and gave this to us :)
haaay... sobrang bait nyo naman po talaga :)
Tumblr media
my husband’s birthday is actually mid-April pa, so belated na. kaya it is so surprising that they still gave us a cake nung nalaman nila about his birthday.
kaya, THANK YOU so much again for this :)
we also tried their double-deck raft, where you can have a better view of the whole beach and the sunset too.
Tumblr media
mejo nakaka-takot lang maglakad, extra challenge pero masaya naman :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ayan... after crossing the floating bridge (?)... ang saya-saya na namin.. :)
Tumblr media
pero kelangan pa namin umakyat sa 2nd floor...
here we are!!! we made it! :)
Tumblr media
what do we get after going here?
Tumblr media
this lovely view :)
youtube
by the way, the WIFI here is FREE for the entire stay and is easy to connect.
Overall, for me, The Bellevue Resort in Bohol has an exceptional SERVICE - this is their edge :)
Tumblr media
I remember, we were just looking at their huge pond and showing our Baby the fishes - and then a personnel approached us and asked if we want to feed them.
Our parents were all smiles :) see? :)
Tumblr media
Plus, they offer a FREE 30 minutes Kayak and Paddle Boarding for every person checked-in, which our Parents enjoyed so much.
Tumblr media
BELLEVUE RESORT gave us more than what we have asked for.
They have taken good care of us, and have pampered us so well.
Kaya para sa akin - iba silang mag-alaga.
Tumblr media
plus, my Baby loved your beach, white sand and pool so much...
Tumblr media
as well as your garden :)
Tumblr media
and she had a super comfortable sleep and vacation :)
Tumblr media
which a parent like me loves seeing :)
so from our family to yours - THANK YOU SO MUCH :)
Tumblr media
I want to go back here because of your BEAUTIFUL RESORT, WHITE SAND, PRIVATE BEACH and EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE :)
God bless us all.
To God be the Glory.

“I came to realize that I traveled best when I traveled with my partner.”
We got up nice and early. We ordered a Taxi called Grab and traveled to the ticketing office. There are two company’s that you can use. We used the Ocean Jet to travel over first. Then Super Cat for our return ticket. It cost 460 PHP for the Super Cat and a bit more for Ocean jet. In total it was about 1000 PHP for both of us one way.  I do remember that the staff is very helpful and obliging and helpful for a person such as myself. I must compliment them for their due diligence on assisting myself. I only have 10% site.  It was a nice trip and I think it took about 3 hours and only two coming home with Super Cat. The cost of flying is about 3000 PHP each.
I would highly encourage that you would visit a ticketing office available in some shopping malls in the city to book your tickets ahead of time. Please see the links attached to check the schedule availability of both vessels. OceanJet and SuperCat.

Bohol Python and Wildlife Park
Tumblr media
Butterfly sanctuary, awesome butterflies at the back part of this Wildlife Park.
Tumblr media
The preserve popular phyton in Bohol ages ago. Lot’s of negative feedback I read about this place but as part of their itineraries, we gave it a try to see for our self.
Tumblr media
This would probably my favorite spot for this place. Refreshing and you can hear the different sounds of wilds along the corner. (Though we felt bad for some of the wild inside the cage)
Tumblr media
We took a short snap to stretch at The Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception in Baclayon Church one of the oldest church in the country. This church was one of the best preserved Jesuit build churches in the region.
Tumblr media
And before we head down to most popular chocolate hills, who wouldn’t love to take a great photo in their man-made forest along the road. We were so lucky because the road was so quiet and peaceful.
Then we reached one of the unique spots that you should not miss in Bohol. The Philippine tarsier, (Tarsius syrichta) is a very peculiar small animal. In fact, it is one of the smallest known primates, no larger than an adult men’s hand. It can be found in islands of Samar, Leyte, Bohol, and Mindanao in the Philippines.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Observe silence as Tarsiers spend most of their lives clinging to vertical tree branches where they rest during the day.
And we finally reach our final destination. Chocolate hills, the most popular tourist spot in Bohol as well as in the whole country.
Tumblr media
The chocolate hills consist of are no less than 1268 hills (some claim this to be the exact number). They are very uniform in shape and mostly between 30 and 50 meters high. They are covered with grass, which, at the end of the dry season, turns chocolate-brown. From this color, the hills derive their name. At other times, the hills are green, and the association may be a bit difficult to make. (credits http://www.infobohol.com)
Tumblr media
To capture your best photography you need to go upstairs and make the most of your time.
I can say when we landed in Bohol we took a tour with a guide and eat breakfast at McDonalds. We had two drivers that afternoon. Both of them took us to see lots of different sites.  I really think this is the best way to see Bohol. Local knowledge and driving in an air-con car are great. We saw some wonderful majestic forest. The Chocolate Mountains was another place where your camera will get used a lot. I recall we went into a butterfly sanctuary and that was so very nice too. Later on, we went and looked at some very large snakes and reptiles.  If you like monkeys go check out the little tarsier.
Our lovely arrival in The Bellevue Resort in Panglao, Bohol.
Tumblr media
Down below is the advert for where we stayed.
Tumblr media
My wife picked this place and got it for half price with a coupon code. So, the value for us both was outstanding. They upgraded us and we had a nice balcony which we spent a lot of time resting and looking out over the Xmas lights and ocean. Playing some tunes on the blue tooth speaker. That’s when we discovered that the Wi-fi was amazing, 40mb down and 21mb Up. So, it’s very easy to back up all your photos at the end of the day. I can say the bed was super nice to sleep in and the bathroom had a nice deep bath and a very nice shower to wash any sand grains off of your body if you went out swimming or used the beach lounges like I did.
#gallery-0-21 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-21 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-21 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-21 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
The breakfast buffet is quite expensive.  It is all you can eat and yes it has a tone of different food to try. I wanted my wife to explore different food and take a crap load of photos of it. To remember our honeymoon meals together. There is unlimited juice and coffee and tea. Hot chocolate you have to buy.  I did not like it that much so I stayed with just drinking juice.
Tumblr media
I really enjoyed our evenings together eating in alfresco dining. The hotel does make a very nice meal. I did not like garlic bread in the Philippines. It’s so very sweet.  I had fettuccine both nights with different sauces. I think my wife had fish and calamari. We listened to the live band and the personal service was outstanding. We even tipped the singers and I asked for a specific song for my darling wife. My wife’s best friend works in tourism and she is able to all so give you great feedback on places to stay. Ask Luche and she will inquire on your behalf. Mostly I think Luche will just put links into her blog if she deems them worthy.
This is an ADD describing where we stayed.
Tumblr media
“On Dolijo Beach overlooking the Cebu Strait, this upmarket hotel surrounded by tropical forest is 21 km from Tagbilaran Airport.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Understated rooms provide free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs, plus iPod docks and minibar. Upgraded rooms add furnished balconies and/or beach views. Suites come with living areas; upgraded suites offer outdoor whirlpool tubs.”
Day 2 – An Exciting Island Hopping To Balicasag and Virgin island.
If we’re lucky enough to wake up early we would’ve gone to visit Pamilacan island first. To experience, dolphins, manta rays and whale shark watching. However; were pretty exhausted from our day one trip so we just chose to go to Balicasag island.
Location: The southwest wall of Balicasag island, 6km southwest of Panglao island. Fresh from the success of the Philippines, Balicasag in the 2006 Marine Diving Fair in Tokyo, where Balicasag was voted as the Reader’s Choice ‘ 3rd world’s best dive site through a diving magazine survey, the Department of Tourism further ensure its presence in the biggest Asia Dive Expo in 2006. (www.infobohol.com)
I like Bohol because there is a very nice sea breeze that takes off the zapping power of the humidity. So, if you go riding on a trike it’s so very pleasant. The wind in your hair and seeing the sites is fun. Just like the boat trip we took. My wife got so fascinated with the turtles the owners of the craft we took out called her back so she did not get into any trouble.  She was fixated on taking her videos and was not aware of what she or where she was swimming. Any way our hostess told us about a rain squall that was coming. They got us home and as we walked into the resort it rained cats and dogs.
The Virgin Island
Virgin Island (also known as Pungtud or Pontod Island) is probably the most iconic island destinations in Bohol. We had our final stop here to relax after the rain shower. Upon our arrival, you can vendors as if they haven’t welcomed you to the island upon docking yet. Fried banana or also know as ( banana cue) is around the corner as well as fresh coconut juice.
How to get there: Our island hopping tour was arranged by Mr. Arvin our contact driver during our day 1 trip. He can provide a suggested arrangement for your itineraries and accommodation depends on your budget and days to stay on the island.
  What a trip!
This was a perfect time to relax and look at our photos and back them up. As well as clean up and get ready to go out to dine later on that night. I am sure that there are parts I mist of our adventures. However, my thought is two thumbs up. Will I ever go back? Hell yes. I enjoyed that place. It was hard to leave it really. I hope you enjoy it too. Just remember to take water bug spray and a portable battery charger too. Advice buy some dried mango, it made by the gods lol, it’s awesome. Take care and happy travels.
Tumblr media
We highly appreciated the management of the resort for their lovely welcome and amazing service. We gave it a two thumbs up and we would probably stay for our next visit.
Honeymoon Getaway: Picturesque locations you’ll want to visit in Bohol, Philippines "I came to realize that I traveled best when I traveled with my partner." We got up nice and early.

BOHOL CITY TOUR
Tumblr media
Nag-book kami ng Bohol City Tour namin via BOHOL TRAVEL TOURS.
Kinontak ko sila few weeks after ko makapagbook ng airline and hotel.
Pinili namin yung - Bohol Countryside Tour B Package - kasi nandon na halos lahat ng mga Tourists Spots with Entrance fees, plus your own driver and Car.
Rate nila is 1,600/person. Kaya 6,400 kaming 4. :)
Mabait sila at madaling kausap. Nung nalaman nila na may Senior Citizen kaming kasama at Baby, yung bagong Toyota Innova na agad ang in-assign nila samin na sasakyan.
Super convenient yun for us. kasi hindi ganon kapagod at madami kaming gamit na nadala.
click here to see the full list of our Tour Package -> BOHOL COUNTRYSIDE B
Tumblr media
ayan... picture namin when we arrived at Tagbilaran Bohol Airport via Air Asia.
Thank you pala to Air Asia for our on-time flight.
and sympre, thank You Lord dahil safe po kami nakarating.
Tumblr media
Maliit lang ang Tagbilaran Airport.
Good thing that Bohol is now building the Panglao Airport - yan ang sabi samin dito. mas maganda at mas malaki raw. Looking forward na matapos ito agad for all the tourists who wants to visit this beautiful place.
Tumblr media
Anyway, going back to our Tour.
Sinundo kami ni Kuya sa Bellevue Resort (hotel namin) as per agreed time.
Tumblr media
Then, sabi namin sa Baclayon Church muna...
since we wanted to celebrate Mass. Sunday kasi kami nag-schedule ng tour eh.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, patapos na ang Mass when we arrived. pero we were still thankful na may naabutan parin naman kami kahit papano.
After namin sa Church -  sa Phyton Snake.
Tumblr media
madami rin namang animals aside from the Phyton Snake, so parang mala-Zoo experience na rin ito for Cassie. pero nakaktakot talaga ang mga Snake.
Tumblr media
Next - was the Loboc River Cruise.
Tumblr media
Ang saya dito. sobrang nakaka-relax.
Tumblr media
kasi ang ganda ng view.
youtube
honestly, yung food is kalmado lang naman... pero ang maganda dito is yung experience talaga.
masaya! :)
tapos, pumunta na kami sa Chocolate Hills.
juzmiyo!!!hehe
so pwde kana magkaron ng souvenir photo dito palang.
pero yung mgandang view "daw” kasi is nasa viewing deck.
Tumblr media
kelangang umakyat ng mga 200 steps...
Tumblr media
nandito na rin kami kaya sinubukan na namin.
sinama namin si Cassie paakyat...
pero sympre, buhat ni Tatay si Cassie... so doble yung pagod para sa kanya.
Tumblr media
nakakatakot kasi mejo mataas sya talaga.
tapos habang pawis na pawis ka at hinihingal dahil sa init at pagod, maghihintay ka pa ng konti para makakuha ka ng magandang pwesto - para makapag-papicture ka.hehe
ayaaaan... juzmiyo!hehehe
Tumblr media
so congratulations kung meron kang “fresh” na kuha with the Chocolate Hills view.hehe kasi effort talaga para makita mo yung ganda nya dito sa taas, at makapag-papicture ka sknya.hehe
youtube
anyway, after non, napabili kami ng tshirts.hehehe
pawis na pawis talaga kami.hehe
sakto naman, terno pa kaming 3 paghinto namin sa Man-made Forest.
Tumblr media
next sa itinerary namin is yung - Tarsier.
Tumblr media
sandali lang naman yung iikutin mo dito. para lang talaga makita mo sila ng malapitan. kelangan quiet environment para hindi sila ma-disturb and no flash sa mga camera.
Tumblr media
next stop - Butterfly Garden.
Tumblr media
maganda rin dito, maganda yung garden nila inside :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ang last sa stop namin is yung - Souvenir Shop.
Dito kami nakabili ng mga pasalubong namin. :)
One whole day ang buong City Tour namin.
Helpful na kumuha ng tour kasi unang-una, ang hirap puntahan ang ibang lugar, plus, ang hirap ding pumila para sa tickets. Yung driver na din kasi namin ang pumipila for us, at bumibili ng ticket. Convenient talaga.
Plus, after mag ikot-ikot, makakarelax ka ng maayos sa sasakyan at makaka-recharge for the next tourist spot.
Overall, para sa akin, iba parin na magkaron ng City Tour kapag nasa Bohol ka, kasi mas makikilala mo yung lugar because of history and culture, at mas maaappreciate mo lalo yung ganda nya aside sa White Sand Beaches nito.
Bring extra shirt, water, umbrella - kasi nakakapagod maglibot the whole day.
And sa mga magpapa-picture sa Chocolate Hills, bring extra shirt parin, water at mahabang pasensya. kasi sa totoo lang, nakakapagod. pero pagdating mo sa taas, worth it naman. :)

Bellevue at Panglao island...
Bellevue at Panglao island…
Wikipedia will tell you, that Panglao is an island in the north Bohol Sea, located in the Central Visayas region of the Visayas island group, in the south-central Philippines…and it is!
For me it’s  a small island in Bohol ,the province where my father was born.
Panglao used to be a quite little town with beautiful virgin  beaches, but recently has sprouted a bunch of resort developments…

A Luxurious Staycation at The Bellevue Resort Bohol
Out of Town Blog A Luxurious Staycation at The Bellevue Resort Bohol
Bellevue Resort Bohol Staycation
I’m the kind of traveler who likes exploring by foot, finding hidden alleys that lead to food stalls, walking around downtown to immerse myself in the local cuisine and culture, looking for the best things to photograph with my gadgets, and shopping for interesting souvenirs. I’m always on the go.
Bohol Bellevue Resort Beachfront
But sometimes, chilling out in one place for a couple of days can be just as rewarding as an hour’s worth of walking… just as how I immensely enjoyed my recent luxurious staycation in Bellevue Resort Bohol (Check Rates).
View from my Veranda
Alongside other bloggers, I was generously invited by The Bellevue Hotels and Resorts (BH&R), the manager and owner of the resort, to experience their hotel hospitality. It was the perfect opportunity—it was scheduled for 3 days and 2 nights, and it was almost summertime. I wore my fancy sunshades and joined in the party.
Bellevue Bohol Lobby
We reached The Bellevue Resort after a 30-minute drive from our arrival in Tagbilaran Airport. When I saw a nearby, small secluded beach, the elegant and welcoming hotel lobby, and my even more elegant, welcoming, and comfy room, I threw in another pair of shades on my face.
Location
Bellevue Resort in Panglao Island
This 5-star hotel is located near the shorelines of Doljo Beach, in Panglao Island, Bohol. It’s just less than a kilometer away from Tagbilaran City where there is an airport. From here, one can also visit the nearby Momo Beach, as well as other Panglao Island landmarks like the Panglao Church. This hotel is highly accessible as well.
My room
In my staycation paradise, I dwelled in room 644 in the east Bali wing, which gave me a bird’s eye view of the nearby Doljo beach, and the resort’s infinity pool. My room had a fancy tropical theme, and my king-size bed made me feel like a real king. Beside it was a mini-living room with a large, convertible couch and a lounge chair.
My Bed for two nights
Bellevue Resort Bohol Bathroom
My favorite part of my luxurious room is the bathroom, where I had a bathtub and a rainfall showerhead with just the right amount of water pressure. My toilet had a bidet and I was given a complete set of toiletries. In front of the bathroom is a huge closet equipped with bathrobes, laundry bags, slippers, and a safe box.

Work Desk
Adding more to my perfect room is a super-fast WiFi, a cable LED TV, a mini bar with Bohol delicacies, and conveniently placed sockets.
Food
There are two restaurants and one bar in the resort. All three open on 7 AM and close at 10 PM daily.
One is the Lamian World Cuisine Restaurant. Aside from serving international and local dishes, this restaurant also offers a breakfast buffet from 7 AM to 10 AM. Their buffet ranges from dangit, different slices of ham, freshly baked bread, and fresh fruits. The local hot chocolate, or Tablea, is my favorite in their breakfast spread.
Food at Bellevue Bohol Resort
The second restaurant in the resort is the Marea Al Fresco Dining, which specializes in seafood dishes. They have tables near the beachfront so it’s especially enticing. Marea Al Fresco also has a selection of wines and cocktails, but not as much as the bar.
The Flujo Bar serves a wide spectrum of cocktails and shakes. The bar has a sunken lobby and a very relaxing ambiance. If you’re having a hard time choosing which concoction to try out, the professional baristas would be happy to recommend you something, if not make a completely new one for you.
Facilities
The Bellevue Resort Bohol (Resort Reviews) is abundant with facilities that are perfect for me, the staycationer summer king, or, basically, for anyone.
Gaming Room photo by Myke Soon
Aside from the amazing restaurants, the resort also has a game room where guests can spend time in. There is a game room and recreation area for us grown-ups, complete with table tennis tables, billiards, and even a basketball arcade machine! The playground of the younger crowd is blue and underwater-themed.
Lets Play photo by Myke Soon
Aside from having several toys, there are also books, and a PS3. There is also a wide fitness gym in the vicinity. I don’t really have a beach-bod and I love food more than exercising, but if I were given the chance to stay inside the resort for a longer period, I might just make visiting the gym a habit!
The spa house, Azurea Spa also looked very appealing. They had professional therapists who are trained to pamper guests to perfection.
Billiards Table photo by Myke Soon
Before going out the hotel you will see the Lobby Shop, an in-house souvenir shop that sells Bohol’s local crafts and delicacies. Meanwhile, the nearby tour desk offers basic information as well as tour packages.
Enjoy Watersports photo by Myke Soon
Outside the building are two areas where large group meetings or events can be held. These are the Cena, which is a large, open-air court; and The Bellevue Pavilion, which can be used as a convention center for large groups.
Learn Archery photo by Myke Soon
There is also a bike rental facility, an archery range, and an outdoor playground. If you don’t fancy playing around on land, the resort also offers beach and water sports activities, such as diving lessons, and beach sports like Frisbee.
Infinity Pool in Bellevue Bohol
Lastly, the resort has its own infinity pool that offers an excellent view of the secluded Doljo Beach, ocean, horizon, and beyond. It’s perfect for relaxing, chilling out, or simple sightseeing.
Island Hopping Tour
We had a chance to try out the island hopping tour offered by the resort doing our stay. With a speedboat, we were able to visit an island and watch dolphins swim nearby!
Island Hopping in Bohol
We visited Isola de Francisco, a very beautiful white sandbar owned by the Philippine Center of St. Pio of Pietrelcina. It is a private island but it is open to the public without any entrance fees. On the island is a statue of Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, an Italian saint. There is also a small museum made of local materials. On and around the island are statues depicting Jesus Christ’s life.
Hinagdanan Cave
The Hinagdanan Cave is our last stop for our short, island tour. The cave is a beautiful cavern that is known to be approximately 100 meters long. Its walls are mostly made of limestone, and the holes on the cave’s ceilings serve as lights.
Bellevue Family Mission School
During our stay, we also visited the Bellevue Family Mission, a missionary organization based in Panglao. The volunteers originally started working since 2006, but it was only three years later when the present organization was formally established. Some of the current members of the organization include Eveline Gamonez, an American psychiatric nurse, and Kim, a retired American soldier. The organization is further manned by volunteer teachers, and a gardener.
Bellevue Family Mission School
One of the organization’s vision is to provide assistance in terms of education. Their current program schools 40 3 to 5-year-old children. Aside from the English language, the children are also taught housekeeping and spiritual values.
Honesty Shop
Honesty Shop in Bohol
Like the ones we see in Batanes Honesty Coffee Shop, Bohol also has its honesty shop, and it’s located in Bellevue Resort Bohol. The shop is just a small corner that mostly sells local handicrafts. Nobody watches over the store; customers who wish to purchase a product need to refer to the price tags and deposit their payment in the box.
Bellevue Organic Farm
Located right next to the Bellueve Family Mission School is an organic farm. The farm has a symbiotic relationship with The Bellevue Resort—the resort uses some of the herbs and vegetables being grown in the organic farm, while the organization uses the resort’s kitchen wastes, such as vegetable peelings, as compost.
Bellevue Organic Farm
Organic Garden in Panglao Island
The organic farm grows a variety of vegetables, ranging from lettuce, eggplants, to potatoes and even cassava. Small farm animals such as chickens, pigs, and rabbits, are raised in the farm.
Overall review
There is no other word to describe my staycation in the Bellevue Resort Bohol other than “perfect’. Its facilities and interiors were all tropical-themed and laid back, which makes me think that the place was really created for the summertime. The beach is always clean and peaceful. The staff were all very attentive and kind.

Refreshing View photo by Myke Soon
The hotel’s location is also one of the best things about it. It’s accessible to us yet is distant from the crowds. In overall, this resort is the best, summertime getaway I can ever recommend to anyone.
At the Bohol Bee Farm
I would also like to commend the hotel staff for their efforts of throwing a huge Luau party during our last night. We had our dinner in the Lamian Restaurant, which served us their finest dishes. We had a wide array of seafood dishes, namely: sinigang na salmon, buttered prawns with garlic, and Crab with Chili Sauce. We also had a fair share of local delicacies, which included native spicy chorizos, pork sate dipped in peanut sauce, boiled corn on the cob, baked potatoes with condiments, and java rice. We had slices of smoky Inihaw na Manok and Inihaw na Liempo as well.
We spent the rest of the night being entertained by local performers and fire dancers. It was a beautiful, chilly night of music, dance, fire, laughter, and food.
#TeamBohol at The Bellevue Resort Bohol photo by Myke Soon
I wouldn’t ask for any other way to conclude my perfect, summer staycation.
