I love when Storybots is so overly dramatic and cinematic like this. But I cannot stop thinking about this instance in particular. Beep over here is terrified that Bing will fall from the top of a vending machine to the bottom of the vending machine but like… First of all you’ve all had far worse falls than that, remember when you plummeted to the ground from the clouds? And the only one who found that distressing was Bo? Second where were you later in the episode when he was being cooked at 300 degrees Fahrenheit for close to an hour.
Tumblr media
save him.
What is up with these guys’ sense of danger and self-preservation.

"Opening in five," every compartment opening gets a countdown. A full on announcement, as if it were about to be celebrated. The mech itself is turned off, fully inert, and folded in on itself, but there's still one last problem. "Four." The pilot herself. Incensed with combat stims, and alight with hormones, there's no telling what she'll do once the cockpit peels itself open. Perhaps she'll be frothing at the mouth, violent and furious. "Three." Perhaps she'll be glassy-eyed, screaming and despondent. Perhaps she'll be soaking, sweating and horny. Any choice is as bad as the other — especially for the poor sod who has to deal with it. "Two." The little entourage around the cockpit level their stun-guns, ready to protect the pilot from herself, as soon as she emerges. Something's going to happen, either way; the bodyguards are sure of it. "One."
The key is pressed, and the port goes silent, save for the hissing, clicking hydraulics of the Abbaciss apparatus. Slowly, but surely, the cockpit careens open until one of it's sharper edges clinks against the floor plating politely. Nothing. There is no pilot for a moment. No frenzy of arms, no stink of fluids. The bodyguards lower their weapons, sorely disappointed. One of them is kicked forwards by their compatriots — go check it out. Almost tumbling, Janna stabilizes herself with a hand to the heated hull of the killing machine she's supposed to be guarding. "H-Hello?" She murmurs, lowering her head so she can look up the gloryhole of the much-adorned mecha.
I slither out. Like a sack of sopping meat-hunks, I'm fed onto the floor, feet-first. I lay there, spat out from my sacred safe-space, and onto this chilly, pristine-clean surface. "Uh." I make some kind of noise, as is protocol, to let everyone know that I'm out safely. I'm a pile of bodysuit-plastic leather and lithe skin, but I'm out. Safely.
"U... Uh?" Janna tries to repeat the noise I've made, staring down at the glimmering mess beneath her. I'm soaked with sweat, as is expected, and covered in input bruises. "Abbaciss, are you... Okay?" Realizing that she's not allowed to ask that yet, Janna's spine straightens as she switches into professional mode. "Senior Abaciss, please confirm your condition." She barks out, her eyes no longer looking down at me. The stun guns are gone at least; completely lowered once the bodyguards are assured that I'm not threat.
My modulator clicks into the ON position as I prepare my throttled vocal chords for the stress of speech. "Dees-app-pointed." I grunt, the mechanics doing all the work, as I can barely bring myself to even speak properly. "Dees-at-iss-fied." My mouth is open, but making no real effort to do much at all. I beep through my words, hooking my arms under my thighs and wrenching them in close.
Janna looks to her squad for any kind of answer, and then swings back, rolling her eyes. Dissatisfied. That's a long word, for a doll. "Abbaciss..." She begins, breaking protocol once again, just to reach down and pat the little pilot on the head. There's no reaction. "What's wrong? You completed the mission, all fine. All's green." Just realizing she's volunteered to be a military therapist for a downtrodden doll, Janna just facepalms, and sits down. She might be here for a moment.
"Didn't kill eh-nuff." I murmur, my eyes watching as Janna's face drops down to my level. "Not eff-fish-ently eh-nuff." I squawk, revelling in my own depression. I want to tear this bodysuit off. I want to get back in the shell-frame, and march back out to the killing pastures. I want to sink my nails into something that'll scream. My own body would do.
"But... It was a scout mission, Abbaciss. You didn't need to kill anyone." Janna's head cocks, full of the puppy-energy she was made to put out. "If anything, it's better that you didn't make a mess." She pats me again, rubbing away at my perfectly-shaped hips and trying not to finger or fiddle with any of my tech-inports.
"Should have done more." I respond instantly, as if I have a routine script for this messy kind of conversation. Perhaps I've already run through it a billion times in my computational core. "Much more. Empire isn't safe if I don't kill." My voice lowers, so only Janna can hear. "Forward base isn't safe." Swallowing my dignity, my real voice manages to come out, this time. "Home isn't safe. Friends aren't safe." My body shakes and wracks itself with disappointment as I remind myself just how grievous the imagined failure I've committed is.
"Fuck..." False alarm. Janna can't help but laugh a bit. Her hand rubs my shoulder, and then finds the control handle I have attached to the base of my neck. "You're fucking cute." She's inches from bursting with affection. Fastening her fingers around my control handle, she drags my corpse in close and — and hugs me. "Look. I've got some spare rationmarks. How about some ice cream, Abbaciss?" Trying to straighten her mouth as it does backflips, and twists in loops across her face, Janna quickly finds there's no helping her. She's been bowled over by my accidental display of adoration. There's only one thing she can do; with her right hand lifted up in the one moment, please hardcode, she uses her left arm to bring me in closer, and squeeze me until I make a little peep of satisfaction.

No Matter What
"Uzi? It's time to rejoin the others. And you know.... Hop on the bus?"
Uzi timidly walked up to N. "Listen, N. I know you still like me but I still killed a whole bunch of my classmates and I already wasn't on the best of terms with them from the start. I mean, for pity's sake, even when I was full genocidal monster on them they STILL didn't know my name!"
N blinked with a beep at her.
"What I'm trying to say is... maybe, after all this time, everyone has avoided me for an actual good reason. Maybe I'm.... supposed to be alone. Maybe is everyone is supposed to... just up and leave me. I mean, if I just end up hurting everyone than it would only be natural that I end up... alone?"
Uzi was always a short droid but she was feeling even smaller with this little admission.
"Hey! Whoa, whoa, whoa. That's never going to happen. I'm not going anywhere."
Uzi smiled. Just a small one though.
"Really?"
"Really. And I'll prove it, through song!"
"Oh wait! No, N! Really, that's okay! Please don't..."
"Too late, I'm singing it! In the light of the day"
Uzi facepalmed. "Oh geez."
"In the dark of the night"
"I guess we're really doing this, huh?"
"When you're raring to go"
"I at least hope nobody else can hear us."
'When you're tired from the fight"
"Otherwise this will be IMPOSSIBLE to live down!"
"When you're losing your mind"
"Seriously, an entirely separate genocide just to keep droids quiet."
"Let me give you a thought"
"Alright, fine. Since I can't seem to stop it, I might as well just ride it out. At least it's just for me. Not everybody can say N sung them a song."
"I'm gonna be right your side no matter what"
Despite the embarrassment, Uzi still smiled. Nobody else was around, so why NOT sing along?
"In the dark of the night"
N covered his visor with his hands for a moment.
"In the dark of the night" Uzi sang along.
N's whole face brightened as soon as he heard Uzi sing with him.
"In the light of the day"
N placed his arm around Uzi and threw out his far hand as if he were referring to something far away.
"In the light of the day"
Uzi playfully rolled her eyes.
"When you're rising to shine"
N stretched his arms as if he were waking up.
"When you're rising to shine"
Uzi pretended to be rubbing dust from her eye (visor).
"When you're hitting the hay"
N put his hands together and rested his head against them mimicking sleep.
"When you're hitting the hay"
Uzi pulled N's hat down over his visor.
"I'll be hanging around"
N jumped up and hung upside down on a tree branch with his arms dangling down.
"I'll be hanging around"
Uzi jumped up and grabbed N's arms, swinging with them.
"If you like it or not"
N brought Uzi up so they were sitting on the same branch.
"If you like it or not"
Uzi put N in a headlock and gave him a friendly noogie. Hat and all.
"I'm gonna be right by your side no matter what!"
N threw some ninja stars at a tree and then he shared some with Uzi. Her whole face brightened with a giant smile.
"No matter what"
N used his tail to hang upside down again.
"No matter what"
Uzi mimicked him but because she wasn't used to having a tail, her's just sort of bit the branch.
"No matter what"
N and Uzi both had their wings out and N was using fingers to count down.
"No matter what"
Both took off into the air but Uzi needed a little help. Thankfully N was able to instruct her on the proper way to flap.
"No matter what"
N shot up a little bit into the sky.
"No matter what"
Uzi followed quickly behind.
"No matter what"
N went a little higher.
"No matter what"
Uzi continued to follow.
"Oh, I'm gonna be"
N twirled around Uzi going higher into the sky.
"Oh, I'm gonna be"
Uzi hovered in place for a moment to ensure she wasn't dizzy. Then shot after him.
"Right by your side"
N appeared up in the clouds now.
"Right by your side"
Uzi popped her head out of one of the clouds, joining him.
"I'm gonna be right by your side no matter what"
A small game of chase developed between the two.
"In the dark of the night"
Somehow in their little game N had lost sight of Uzi. He could hear her but he couldn't find her.
"In the light of the day"
He looked behind a nearby cloud but she wasn't there.
"When you're rising to shine"
N scratched his head in confusion.
"When you're hitting the hay"
N decided that maybe if he just sang a little louder he could find her.
"Just remember this song"
Uzi quickly poked her head out from a cloud.
"How's it go? I forgot" confessed Uzi.
The two laughed for a moment but N quickly picked the song up again.
"I'm gonna be right by your side no matter what"
They were flying down to the ground now.
"Through whoever you've been"
Uzi landed on a tree branch followed shortly by N.
"Through whoever you've been"
N jumped down to the ground and folded up his wings.
"Through whoever you'll be"
N opened up his arms encouraging her to jump.
"Through whoever you'll be"
Uzi tried to jump down but she slipped and almost bellyflopped down instead. N still caught her though.
"Through whatever you lose"
In his arms, Uzi stared up at N. A small blush started to form on her visor.
"Through whatever you lose"
N stared down at Uzi with a smile.
"You will always have me"
N realized they were lingering for longer than he thought and put her down.
"You will always have me"
At first Uzi scooted away from him, hiding her optic visor with her hair. However, a moment later she scooted back and playfully punched his arm.
"At the end of your road"
N rubbed his arm but still smiled. He pointed to a trail back to the camp and started walking down it.
"At the end of your road"
Uzi quickly followed after him, making sure she kept pace with him.
"I'll be holding you taut"
Without warning Uzi grabbed N's hand, lacing their fingers together.
"I'll be holding you taut"
N looked down at their hands with borderline shock. He looked to her for an explanation only for her to grin in response.
"I'm gonna be right by your side no matter what"
With his hand in tow, she started to run down the path.
"Be right by your side, Be right by your side"
N was resistant at first but he soon felt comfortable enough with it and ran past her, never letting go of her hand.
"Be right by your side no matter what"
N twirled Uzi around to slow down their speed and spun her into a hug.

Magneto's Kids
Chapter 6
Pietro carefully snuck in walking past the kitchen. He was halfway through the living room when someone cleared their throat.
"What are you doing sneaking around?" Pietro froze in his tracks, slowly looking back to see Wanda standing behind him.
"I had a small accident" He sighed before pulling a piece of paper out of his coat pocket. Wanda took the paper reading over it very carefully. Peter peered into the room holding a bowl of ice cream, seeing that things were about to get interesting he quickly jumped onto to couch.
"I can't believe you wrecked Dad's car!!!!" Wanda yelled at Pietro as she stormed back and forth across the room.
"It was an accident I was driving as carefully as I possibly could" Wanda turned to face her brother, giving him the, you have got to be kidding me, look before continuing to yell. Peter sat on the couch with a bowl of ice cream enjoying the chaos.
"You call going one hundred miles over the speed limit careful?" Wanda's eyes turn red and she put on her power restraint bracelets to keep from tearing down the house.
"You have no idea what it is like having to live life in slow motion" Pietro wined. Wanda was glad she had her bracelets on because by now she would have knocked Pietro out cold.
"You are literally the second fastest person alive why couldn't you just run" Pietro started to do the puppy face.
"But then I'll be tired" Peter gave a small laugh. Pietro sent him a glare but Peter just continued to laugh.
"You sound like an old man," Peter said stuffing another spoon full of strawberry cheesecake ice cream in his mouth.
"I may not be as fast as you but I'm stronger and one hundred times better looking," Pietro said trying to make himself look more buff.
"As if, you look like some kind of shield experiment gone wrong" By this time both speedsters were racing around the room. 'I hope I'm adopted' Wanda thinks as she tries to stop them.
"Why you little-" Pietro tripped over his own foot crashing into the couch. Peter turned around to laugh and crashed into the wall. 'If I am adopted I'm so un-adopting myself' Wanda facepalmed.
"Pietro this is serious, we need to figure out what to tell Dad that won't make him go on a rampage" Peter shivered.
"Trust me that is something you never want to see" Images of Magneto attacking innocent people flash in his mind. Pietro started to look very worried as he thought of a way out of this "You know I could just 'borrow' a car that looks like Dad's"
"We don't steal kid" Pietro reminded him. Wanda gave a disapproving look to her younger brother, which Peter just rolled his eyes at.
"I know for a fact both of you stole stuff while working for Hydra," Peter said finishing off the last of his ice cream "Heck Dad stole an entire bridge and football stadium"
"Okay I've got it we say that I got in a fight with these bad guys and they stole the car" Wanda rolled her eyes before walking outside.
"This is bad what do I do dad will be home any second!!?!?"Pietro turned to see Erik getting dropped off by one of his friends from work.
"Welp, dear brother of mine it looks like you're on your own" Peter zoomed upstairs. Pietro would have run too, if not for the fact that his feet felt glued to the ground. The first thing Magneto did before going into the house was check the garage.
"Hey, Dadneto what's up?" Pietro asked nervously as Erik walked in the door.
"Where is my car?"Pietro went completely pale as his dad turned to him.
"Well, you see-" Pietro was cut off by someone beeping a car horn outside. He looked out the window to see Wanda driving a car that looked like their dad's but was not wrecked.
"Sorry, Dad I had to go get some books from the library so I could study" Wanda tossed Erik the key as she walked in. Erik gave a small nod of approval before going to his room.
"You owe me one," Wanda said a little annoyed. Pietro hugged her repeatedly saying that she was his favorite sibling and he owed her his life. "You still owe me seventy thousand dollars"

OOC:
Saber slams his locker shut and turns to walk to the next class. Clearly, this school has its classrooms so far apart on purpose.
"Oh, hi! You're Saber Kuroki, right? I'm Ikura Akane!" Saber turns around to see a young girl leaning against their locker. She seems to be about their age.
"Um.... yeah. Hi. Ikura Akane, huh? I don't think I know you." Saber tilts their head as she looks into Ikura's bluish-gray eyes, which are shining with curiosity.
"Oh, hehe! I get that a lot. I guess outside of my small circle, most people don't even notice me!" Ikura laughed and stepped closer to Saber. "But, anyway.... I really would like to make some friends here! Do you think that you could.... show me around after class?"
Saber nodded, instinctively taking a step back. "Uh- of course, I can do that. Meet up here?"
Ikura shook her head. "If you don't mind, I'd rather meet somewhere quieter.... I'm a little shy!"
Saber sighed and nodded. "Janitor's closet. At noon. Don't be late." They turned to walk away.
"Wait! Um, sorry.... it's just that.... I don't know where that is, either....!" Ikura said, looking somewhat embarrassed.
Saber heaved an even bigger sigh and rolled her eyes. "Okay. You know what? Just put your number in my phone and text me if you get lost, got it? Do not call me."
Ikura nodded, barely noticing the intensity of that last sentence. "Okay!" She took Saber's phone from their outstretched hand and quickly entered her number. "There ya go! I'll see you later, Kuroki-senpai~!"
"I'm not- whatever." Saber muttered to herself as Ikura took off in the other direction.
<You have 1 new message>
Saber sighed as her phone beeped. It was a text from Ikura.
Ikura Akane: Here's a cute photo of me that you can use as a profile pic!
Tumblr media
Saber facepalmed.
This new student.... was certainly something.

Kill For You PT. 2 (Poly! Ghostface)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing: Stu Macher x GN!Reader x Billy Loomis (Billy and Stu already established)
Words: 1.7K+
Warning(s): Mentions of past Bullying, fighting, murder and death of Suzzan and Kristie (characters i made up), FLUFF
A/N: HERE IS PART TWO! I AM SO SSORRY IT TOOK SO LONG. LIFE IS HECTIC. I hope you enjoy, its short but sweet!
Request: can i request a poly ghostface fic where reader is getting bullied for being close friends with stu and billy and they comfort her (or them idc)?
Part One
------------------
It had been about three months since you accidentally confessed to Billy and Stu. You remembered the morning after you did, the way the two were on the topic the second you woke up. Needless to say, while you were very confused and very embarrassed,  you were also very happy that they returned your feelings. Never in a million years did you think Billy and Stu would want to date you. You were shocked at how well they hid their relationship from you, and you facepalmed at all the obvious hints they liked you or had something going on now that you have hindsight. Their usual touchiness was multiplied by a thousand and so was their protectiveness.
You couldn't complain, you felt so happy now.
The alarm clock on your nightstand beeped annoyingly, waking you from your slumber. You moaned in complete tiredness, snuggling your face into Billy's back. Like most days, your parents were out of town so Stu and Billy got to stay the night. Every night it would be a snuggle mess, usually you each got to take turns being in the middle. Billy was currently in the middle, you were big spooning him, while Stu completely wrapped his limbs around the dark-haired male. You could feel one of his long legs was resting against your thigh.
"Mmmm... Stu, get the alarm." You mumbled. He was the closer one. You heard him speak, not making out any of the words. The alarm still beeped. "Stu...!"
"Alright!" He groaned and then the beeping subsided. It was once again a peaceful morning... until you felt the need to use the bathroom.
"Gotta get up guys." You heard them protest but they allowed you to climb over so you could get to the bathroom. The second you were gone the two opened their eyes and looked at each other.
"Tonights the night?" Stu asked.
"We just gotta hear it from them." Billy nodded.
"Isn't overhearing they are having a sleepover from whats-her-face enough?"
"No, we gotta be sure do we can get them both at the same time." Billy hissed. He was about to say more about their Ghostface plans but quickly shut his mouth when you came back into the room.
"We should probably get ready for school." You said with a yawn and a stretch. You grabbed a clean shirt and the pants you wore yesterday, changing in front of the boys without care. They begrudgingly got up from the bed and got dressed as well.
-----
"Tonights going to be so fun." Stu nudged Billy as the two girls who beat you three months ago passed them as they exited the school. Billy and Stu were let out 15 minutes early, as usual on Friday, and were intentionally waiting by the doors. They carefully followed behind the two to eavesdrop. "I can't believe your parents are letting us have access to their wine, Kristie. Are you sure its okay?"
"Suzzan, don't worry. My parents are totally cool with us drinking tonight." The two girls giggled and continued to their cars. "Plus even if they weren't, we are staying at their cabin they rarely ever use. They wouldn't miss a bottle or two missing." Your boys went straight to Billy's car, where they saw you approaching.
"Don't you two usually get out earlier today?" You asked with a growing smirk while shielding your eyes from the sun.
"Yea, we were just walking around, you know how jittery Stu gets, baby." Billy replied with own smirk.
"Ah, makes sense."
"Hey!" Stu pouted and crossed his arms. You laugh and give him a hug.
"It's all out of love." You peck his cheek before hopping into the front seat of the car. Stu rolled his eyes as he got into the back and Billy took his usual spot in the drivers seat. He back out of his spot and took off driving back to your house, one hand on the wheel and one resting on your thigh.
------
Billy and Stu waited patiently for you to fall asleep. You three were finishing writing your essays for one of your classes to get it out of the way so you three can focus on relaxing on the weekend. It took a bit longer than you wanted, thanks to the boys attempts to distract you. It was almost 11:00 pm and you could feel your eyes drooping from exhaustion of having to think critically for this essay. You wrote the last line needed to make the conclusion solid and to meet the page count. You sighed loudly and gathered your papers and put away your pens before stretching.
"I think I will crawl to bed now guys." You yawned. "Sorry, I know you guys wanted to watch the original Halloween movie together but-"
"Don't even worry about it, (Y/N). We'll probably join you in a few." Stu grin and tapped his paper with his pen. "We aren't as smart as you."
"G'night if I fall asleep before you guys get done." You yawn again and head  to your room, feet shuffling against the floor. The duo left didn't say anything, but did look at each other with devious smirks.
Their plan was now in motion.
They waited about ten minutes after you went to lay down before the abandoned their essays on the kitchen table. With light steps, the two of them crept up to your room and Billy peaked into your room. He heard your steady, slow breaths coming from your form on the bed, barely illuminated from one of the street lamps outside. He slowly closed the door and gave a single nod to Stu. The two of them headed back downstairs and used the backdoor as it was quieter than the front. The two circled to Billy's car and grabbed their duffle bags from the trunk. Knowing that the car would be way too loud, the two decided to go through the woods, cutting down their walking travel time in half. After all, Kristie and Suzzan were staying in them somewhere, and luckily they had scoped out the place before tonight.
Before they approached the clearing where the cabin stood, the two dressed in their Ghostface outfits. Gripping the handles of their knives they split off, Billy taking the front door while Stu would go in first through the back door. The plan was to make it difficult for either girl to escape and they'll each take one out. Billy would make his appearance first and scaring the two into trying to go out the back, where Stu would be waiting.
Billy waited a minute or two by the front door to give Stu some time to pick the lock for the back door. He rolled his neck, the bones cracking, releasing tension that was there. After the two minutes were up he raised up his leg a kicked out against the door, splintering it open like how it happens in the movies. Shrill screams responded to the loud noise of the door being kicked open and Billy's eyes landed on the two girls sitting on the floor, two empty wine bottles were on the floor with them and some bags of half full chips were spilled on the ground.
"It's the Woodsboro killer!" Suzzan shrieked as her and Kristie scramble to their feet. They immediately took off running towards the backdoor. Billy heard them scream again, they must of ran into Stu waiting at the backdoor. The shorter male quickly stood in the hallway entrance, effectively keeping the two bullies between him and Stu. The two girls were looking frantically between the two serial killers with fear and tears in their eyes. They looked like hopeless prey, trapped by two apex predators.
"P-please! Don't kill us!" They both sobbed, clinging onto each other. Stu and Billy just cocked their heads to the side and took steps forwards, slowly and menacingly. Their grips on their knives tight and tense, ready to strike when the moment was right. "We didn't do anything!"
That phrase sent rage coursing through their bodies. Didn't do anything? They harmed you and that was punishable by death in their eyes. As if they could reach each others thoughts, Billy and Stu both reached out and grabbed one of the girls by their arm, ripping them away from each other. They both screamed and begged for their lives but all either one of the two could hear was the blood rushing in their bodies and their loud heartbeats.
"I'm gonna gut you like a fish." Billy snarled, a wicked grin on his face under the mask. Suzzan stared in horror before her face twisted into pure agony as Billy stabbed her side, slowly dragging the blade through her gut. Stu had a similar idea, although he stabbed Kristie straight in her lower abdomen before dragging the knife upwards until it hit her sternum bone. Tonight was going to be bloody, and their plans to pose their bodies made their killing even more thrilling.
-----------
Billy and Stu quickly threw their duffle bags deep into the trunk of Loomis' car before quietly closing it. They stalked back to your houses backdoor and entered the house, excitement from taking care of your bullies still running through them.
"Quick check if there is blood on me." Stu turned on the hallway light and did a spin for Billy.
"Nope no blood." The dark haired male replied.
"Cool now let me check you." Billy rolled his eyes and also did a slow spin. "Hot as always." Stu smirked and pulled in his boyfriend by the hips for a quick and sloppy kiss. "Let's get back to, (Y/N). I definitely need some cuddles after tonight."
"You and me both." Billy turned off the hallway light and the two of them quietly returned to your room, stripping off their pants and shirts, leaving them in their boxers. Not caring how it was Stu's turn in the middle tonight, the two of them slipped into bed on either side of you. You were currently laying on your back, deep in sleep, not even stirring at the movement on either side of you. Stu curled himself around you, his head resting against yours, his arm resting just below your neck while one of his legs draped over yours. Billy laid his head on your chest, feeling calmer as he could hear your heart beating at a steady pace. His arm laid on your stomach and he kept his legs to themselves, although he couldn't help but allow one of his ankles to rest on yours.
Your warmth and presence helped calm the adrenaline in their systems and relax them close enough to almost falling asleep. You were their missing piece, their treasure, their lover. Every fiber in their beings felt the urge to always be near you and to protect you from the degenerates of life.
Even if that means killing for you.

Thanks to @coffeeshib for letting me steal the amnesia + wife prompt... I couldn’t help myself. This is not what I thought would come out (content warning for canon typical violence and injuries), mostly this is just Kara being a whole entire idiot and Alex facepalming and Lena just being glad Kara is there for her, as her fake wife while she recovers from another quarterly attempt on her life:
“Supergirl! You have to go!” Alex is yelling at her as they roll Lena into the emergency room at National City General, but Kara is rooted to the spot - she can’t look away. Lena is pale, too pale, and there’s blood all over her dress, cuts and scrapes and bruises already blooming on every piece of exposed skin. She isn’t moving, isn’t breathing on her own right now; the only air making its way into her body is through the ambu bag being operated by a nurse, as women and men in scrubs crowd around the moving gurney, shouting orders. And all of that is terrifying enough, but it isn’t the thing that’s paralyzing Kara.
The reason Kara can’t move, the reason that she is barely breathing, is that she can’t hear Lena’s heart.
“Kara.” Alex is closer now, she steps gently in front of her sister, dropping her voice so that no one else can hear her. “Kara, you have to go, they’re getting away.”
“Alex - “ Kara takes a step forward, as if to walk around her sister, to head towards the doors that Lena and the medical team are disappearing behind.
“I know, Kara, I know,” Alex says, gentle and quiet. The doors shut, and Kara’s eyes snap away from it to her sister's face. Alex looks as terrified as Kara feels; she’s wearing an expression Kara has only seen on her before when it’s Kara who’s hurt. “You can’t do anything for her right now. But you can get the guys who did this.” She reaches for Kara’s arm, squeezes - the pressure is grounding. “You need to go. You need to go right now.”
So Kara goes.

She returns seven hours later, after dropping the men who carried out the attack on Lena at the DEO and declining to help in the interrogation. She nearly killed them, doesn’t think she has the stomach to listen to them talk. She’d still been in the field when the hospital reached out to let her know that they’d been able to stabilize Lena, restarting her heart, but that she hasn’t woken up yet. Alex had relayed the message to her, but now Alex only shakes her head when Kara asks if there are any updates.
Her sister pulls her aside when Kara says that she’s going to hospital to talk to the doctors, telling Kara quietly that she needs to go home and clean off her suit. When Kara looks down, she sees that Alex is right. She’s covered in blood - some of Lena’s, some of it the men she’s apprehended, none of it hers. It makes her want to sob.
But when she gets out of the bathroom after showering, pulling on soft joggers and a hoodie, Kara finds that she can’t settle. Every time she closes her eyes, every time she blinks, she sees Lena’s lifeless body in the rubble that had been her office, can feel Lena in her arms the moment her heart stopped, and the fact that Lena is supposedly stable doesn’t help at all because she hasn’t woken up.
What if she never wakes up?
Suddenly, Kara can’t breathe. Her chest is tight, the walls of her apartment seeming to flex and close in on her. Her heart rate speeds up and she’s taking choked half-breaths, clenching her fists and blinking away tears.
She can’t lose Lena like this, not after she worked so hard to get her back. Kara looks at the clock. It’s just after midnight. This is definitely not visiting-hours at the hospital, and Lena’s not awake anyway - but Kara needs to see her. Needs to know she’s alive.
Needs to hear her heartbeat again.
It’s all of this - the panic, the desperation, the single-minded focus on getting to Lena - that Kara will blame later when she’s trying to explain what happens next in the weeks to come.
The hospital is deserted except for the staff when Kara walks in through the main entrance and goes up to the ICU where she knows Lena will be. She heads straight for the desk at the front of the unit when she arrives, and introduces herself to a nurse before asking if she can see Lena.
“I’m sorry, Ms. Danvers,” the nurse says, and she does sound sorry in the face of Kara’s distress, “visiting hours aren’t until ten a.m.”
A man in a basketball sweatshirt and jeans walks past them, he scans a small badge that says ‘VISITOR’ in capital letters on a machine at the end of the desk, and nods at the nurse before he disappears down the hallway.
“He’s visiting,’ Kara tries, her voice bordering on frantic, “he’s visiting and I need to see her, you don’t understand, I’m not going to be okay if I don’t see her. Please, just let me...”
“I’m so sorry, honey, it’s immediate family only after hours.”
“I’m her wife,” Kara blurts out. “Please. I’m her wife.”
“You’re her…that’s not in the notes…” The nurse trails off, looking down at the computer in front of her.
“I’m her emergency contact, I’m her wife, please.”
““Oh, yes,” the nurse starts nodding, “I do see that marked here, they called you when she came in. Hmmm...Someone clicked the wrong box under ‘relationship to patient.’” She moves her mouse and clicks on something, then looks back up at Kara. “I’ve fixed that for you, Mrs. Danvers. Let me print you out a visitor badge so you can just scan it in next time.
Kara can feel her panic recede a little. She’s going to see Lena. The nurse takes a blank badge and feeds it into an electronic printer. She hands the finished product to Kara, then gets up and gestures for Kara to follow.
“Now,” the nurse starts as she walks Kara down the dark hallway, the lights on half since it’s night, “she looks a little rough, but I assure you, she’s receiving the very best care there is. Normally you would have been called for consent before we initiated the hypothermia protocol, but since she had an advanced directive on file already, the team went ahead and started it.”
Kara’s barely listening to her, has started to strain her ears for the only sound she’s wanted to hear all day. She nearly collapses in relief when she finds it, below the beeping and the whirring and the buzzing of the machines, unlike any other beat in the building. Lena’s heart is steady, slower than usual, slower than Kara’s ever heard it, but it’s there, rhythmically thumping away.
The nurse brings her to a halt in front of a patient room, Lena’s name on the board outside with a bunch of notations that mean nothing to Kara. She’ll ask Alex to translate.
“She’ll be cold to your touch, that’s alright,” the nurse continues. “The key right now is to try to stop or slow any of the damage she’s suffered as a result of going into cardiac arrest. She lost a lot of blood, and her left femur is broken, along with her right ulna, but there are a lot of reasons to be hopeful. We’ll know more in the forty-eight to seventy-two hours once the protocol is complete.”
Kara refuses to think about most of this. Lena is alive. She’s alive and she’s right on the other side of this door. She clears her throat. “How long...how long can I stay?”
“As long as you like, dear. We’ll round on her in the morning and if you’re still here you can talk to the attending. Also, we’ll be in to check on her, but most of the monitoring is electronic since she’s in a medically induced coma for at least the next two days. There’s a chair that reclines by the bedside, I can grab you a blanket?”
“Please,” Kara says. She stops with her hand on the door, turns back to the nurse. “Thank you.” It comes out wobbly.
“Of course.” The nurse smiles at her. “Go on in, I’ll be right back.”

Kara’s woken up by the medical team the next morning during rounds, just as the night shift nurse had promised. She blinks awake and rubs at her eyes, stretching and going to stand up when the team enters.
“Hi Mrs. Danvers, we saw you’d arrived,” a tall woman in a white lab coat says, walking over to Kara on the far side of the room and sticking out her hand to shake. “I’m Dr. Sheldon. We’ll do our best to bring you up to speed now, I’m so glad you were able to make it last night.” She gives Kara a warm smile. “Believe it or not, it really does make a difference when patients are supported, even when they aren’t aware of it.”
The team walks her through their care plan for Lena, how long she’ll have to remain like this before they start the re-warming process, what they’re concerned about and what they’ll be looking for. Her arm and femur have been set and immobilized, but it’s likely that the femur will need to be rebroken and repaired surgically if and when Lena does wake up. Given the invasiveness of the procedure, the delicacy of her present condition, and the unknowns about her cognition, that decision will keep.
When they leave, Kara texts Alex. If the doctors think that it will make a difference for Lena’s recovery to have her here, then she’s going to stay. She’s owed time off anyway. This is the best use of it she can think of.
Two hours later, the door opens, and Kara looks up from the bed, relieved to see Alex standing there, holding a backpack with the food and change of clothing Kara asked her to bring.
“Oh gosh, am I glad to see you,” she says, letting go of Lena’s hand and standing up. She walks around the bed to where Alex has stopped.
“Yeah, yeah,” Alex says, and she’s frowning at Kara. “You have some fucking explaining to do.”
“What?” Kara stops abruptly.
“What?” Alex parrots. She narrows her eyes. “Are you being serious…?” At Kara’s confused expression, Alex rolls her eyes and reaches behind her to shut the door. She walks over to Kara, pulling some take out from the bag and handing it to her, before pulling up one of the swivel chairs a doctor had been using.
Kara takes the food and goes back to her seat.
“So?” Alex prompts.
Kara looks up from the styrofoam container, already having broken apart her chopsticks. “So what?”
“What do you mean...Kara!” Kara freezes, chopsticks frozen in midair clutching a piece of kung pao chicken. There is real frustration and confusion in Alex’s voice. “Imagine my surprise when I sign in at the front desk and the nurse says that my sister-in-law is stable right now. Wanna tell me why the fuck you’re playing house to visit your best friend in the hospital?”
Kara sets the chicken down. “Alex…”
“Kara, you have ten seconds to explain why the entire staff thinks you and Lena are married and the answer had better not actually involve marriage or I swear to god I’ll…”
“They wouldn’t let me in to see her!” Kara bursts out. “I got here last night and I needed to see her, Alex, I needed to. And apparently it’s immediate family only and I panicked, okay?”
“I’m sorry,” Alex says, pinching the bridge of her nose and closing her eyes. “I know Lena is important to you, but Kara, you could have waited ten hours and seen her.”
“I couldn’t.” Kara looks down at her food, not hungry anymore. “Alex, I couldn’t. I almost had a panic attack after you sent me home last night. I couldn’t wait.”
“Oh kiddo.” Kara looks up at that, all the frustration is gone from Alex’s tone. Her sister lets out a sigh. “Lena’s going to get through this and she’s going to get better. And when she does, you have got to tell her how you feel.”
“She’s my best friend.” Kara’s mouth twists. This is not a new conversation, but the stakes seem higher with Lena in the bed beside her, unconscious and battered.
“She is,” Alex agrees. “But she could be more.”
And oh, Kara wants more with every fiber of her being. But more than that, she wants Lena in her life, wants the easy love and affection they’ve finally gotten back to. And she’s been worried about rocking the boat.
“And by the way,” Alex says, pulling her back to the present, “lying to medical professionals is not a good look.” Kara grimaces and ducks her head.
“I know,” she says, glancing at Lena, the ventilator moving her chest up and down slowly. “But they said it’s good for Lena to have someone here, talking to her, holding her hand, even if she doesn’t know. And you know Lillian isn’t going to do that. And Lex is the one who put her here...just let me do this, okay?”
Alex hums. “You’re so lucky I didn’t blow your secret.”
Kara looks over at her sister. “Thank you.”
“Some of us are actually good at lying under pressure. I’m surprised you didn’t tell them she was married to Supergirl.”
“Well I wasn’t dressed as Supergirl.”
“Thank god for small mercies.”

Lena doesn’t wake up for the next three days.
In the interim, all of their friends visit, but Alex has already warned them about Kara’s new relationship status and other than Nia’s constant giggles, no one comments. Kara doesn’t leave the hospital. She keeps vigil in the chair, occasionally leaving for short periods of time to go down to the cafeteria, or to stretch her legs.
On day four, Alex convinces her to at least go to the DEO to shower and check in with J’onn about  the duties he and M’gann are covering for her.
She’s just getting ready to head back to the hospital when her phone rings.
“Mrs. Danvers?”
“Yes?”
“This is Dr. Sheldon. Your wife has woken up and she’s being evaluated now by neuro, but we wanted you to know first thing.”
Kara has to sit down in the middle of the DEO, the concrete hard and probably cold underneath her, but it’s better than the alternative, which was just going to be letting her knees give out. She closes her eyes tightly. “I’ll be right there.”
She flies back to the hospital, landing in a nearby alley and running into the building with just a touch of superspeed. She makes it onto the unit just in time to see Lena’s care team leaving her room and turning down the hall to the next patient, and as much as Kara wants to get an update from them, the urge to see Lena herself is too much. She walks through the open door and nearly runs into a nurse, who’s moving some of the equipment out, now that Lena is conscious. It’s a nurse Kara is familiar with, her name is Bernadette, she’s been on shift the last two days. Her eyes light up when she sees Kara.
“Your wife is here,” Bernadette says, over her shoulder before Kara can stop her. She smiles warmly as she turns back to Kara. “I’ll leave you two alone.” She slips past Kara and into the hallway.
“My…” Lena’s eyes go wide as she sees Kara standing helpless in front of the now closed door.  Her voice is still scratchy from the extubation. Her hair is greasy and all over the pillow, her right arm and left leg are completely immobilized, there are wires running through the top of her hospital gown, her whole body a tapestry of garish purples and greens and stitches. But she’s awake. Kara has never felt more relieved in her entire life, but it turns to ice in her veins as Lena struggles to speak, clearly confused. “My - my - oh god.” Her eyes start to fill with tears and Kara panics.
“No, Lena, no, it’s not - “ she starts saying, taking quick steps towards the bed.
“Oh god, oh god, Kara,” Lena chokes out, twisting a little in bed and flinching, “they said I only lost a week, they said my memory seemed okay, that there’s no - ”
“We’re not married!” Kara yells out trying to stop the clear spiral Lena is on. Lena’s eyes go wide, but she does stop looking like she’s about to start sobbing. “We’re not married,” Kara repeats, in a normal voice this time.
“Then why…”
Kara winces. “I might have told the hospital staff that we are. Married, that is.”
Lena looks wary, small and weak and confused in the bed, and she’s frowning a little at Kara now. It doesn’t even matter, though, because the feeling of seeing Lena awake is returning with every word she speaks, and Kara feels something in her chest open up. She has to resist walking over and climbing into bed with her and holding her, knows she needs to explain first.
In every single way Kara played out this moment all week in her head, not once is this how it went - she wants Lena to be smiling, to be okay, or at least as okay as one can be after coming out of a medically induced coma, with a number of near catastrophic injuries still to be dealt with. She certainly didn’t imagine she’d be contributing to the disorientation and isolation Lena’s projecting right now.
Lena’s eyes dart around Kara’s face. Kara takes a deep breath.
“The first night you were here, I had to see you.” She starts twisting her hands together, takes another step towards the bed. “And it was late, and even though I’m your emergency contact, they said no after hours visitors except for family and I panicked.”
“You panicked.” Lena sounds like she’s unsure how panic would lead someone to pretend to be married, and honestly, now that Kara is having to explain the decision, she’s not really sure either. The only thing she knows is that she doesn’t regret it. Would do it again, in fact.
“I knew if they thought I was your wife, they’d let me in to see you. And Lena, I had to see you. I had to. You were - “ Kara cuts herself off, can feel the tightness in her chest, closing around her heart like a vice. “Your heart stopped before I could get you to the hospital. The last time I saw you, I didn’t know if - “ A small sob works it’s way up her throat, and Kara’s eyes are burning. She feels a tear break free from her lashes. “I needed to hear your heartbeat.”
An unreadable expression crosses Lena’s face as Kara takes the seat by her bed that she’s occupied for the last week. To Kara’s great relief, Lena reaches out her left hand, lays it on the edge of the bed, palm up. Kara grabs for it with both of her own.
And Rao, the feeling of Lena’s hand, still cold, but undeniably warmer, squeezing back when Kara grips tightly - she doesn’t know how to describe this feeling. It starts a fresh wave of sobs in her, of relief this time, rather than terror.
“Hey,” Lena says, punctuating it with another flex of her fingers around the back of Kara’s hand. “Hey, I’m okay. I’m here. You saved me. I’m okay, see?”
And really, that just makes Kara cry harder.
“I’m supposed to be comforting you,” she chokes out.
“You are,” Lena says, disengaging their hands and bringing her fingers up to Kara’s face, wiping at the tears. “You are, god, I was just thrown. I thought...I thought, it doesn't matter what I thought.” She tries to laugh and ends up flinching.
“Oh no, are you okay, should I call the doctor?” Kara immediately reaches forward, lays a hand on Lena’s hip above the sheets and wipes furiously at her face with the other.
“It’s the broken ribs,” Lena grits out, jaw flexing as she drops her hand away from Kara’s face and back onto the bed. “Fuck that hurts.”
“I’m just so glad you’re awake,” Kara says, leaning forward again and brushing some of the hair out of Lena’s face, trying to tuck it behind her ear.
That’s how Bernadette finds them when she returns, Kara gently touching Lena’s forehead, and rubbing her hip, the two of them so close that Kara might as well climb in next to her.
“I’m sorry to interrupt,” she says, smiling at the two of them. “The attending would like to pop in with the head of ortho to talk about surgical options for your femur. Should I tell her to come back later?”
Kara moves to stand up, she doesn’t want to delay anything about Lena’s care, but Lena reaches for her hand again, and Kara’s powerless to do anything but lace their fingers together and sit back down.
Lena takes a shallow breath, “Can my wife stay?”
My wife. Hearing it come out of Lena’s mouth does something to Kara that feels a little dangerous, makes the room spin a bit. Her heart feels as if it’s expanding and being squeezed at the same time. My wife. My wife. My wife.
“Of course, she’s more than welcome to stay,” Bernadette says. “It’s probably a good idea, actually, now that there are care decisions to make.”
_____________________
“Let me get this straight,” Alex says, her head in her hands. Kelly reaches out to rub her back. “You’re still pretending to be married, and Lena is playing along with it?”
Kara nods. They’re sitting down in the cafeteria while Lena gets a sponge bath, something that Kara is trying very hard not to think about. It’s been nearly three weeks, one major operation, and thankfully no more complications.
And Kara has been here through it all. She’s started leaving for blocks of time during the day (it turns out she didn’t have a month worth of vacation saved up and Alex had nearly had an aneurysm when Kara asked if she was allowed to use family medical leave act time), but she’s spent nearly every night in the hospital with Lena since. The medical team loves them, has started talking to them about how devoted Kara is. Maybe Kara’s playing into it a little, bringing flowers, and Lena’s favorite foods, and always, always touching her in some way when she’s in the room.
“You know they’re going to build her discharge plan around you, right?” Alex squints at her. “Have you considered that?”
Kara flushes. “Actually,” she brings a hand up to rub at the back of her neck, adjusts her glasses for good measure, “we’ve agreed that I’ll just move in with Lena for a little while. She can hire someone during the day, but I’ll be around at night and I can help with the rehab. So, um, it’s fine.”
“You’re both fucking idiots.”
_________________
“I’ve been home for an hour and I’m already regretting every choice in my life that’s lead to this point. This is humiliating.”
“Oh my gosh,” Kara laughs, “no it isn’t.”
“Kara, you’re washing my hair in the kitchen sink because I can’t even wash myself right now with this fucking cast and brace on.”
Kara grins, squirting shampoo onto her hand and setting the bottle down on the marble countertop. Lena is sitting in the wheelchair, left leg propped up on the supports. She’s leaning back with her head over the edge of the sink, rolled up towels supporting her neck and her eyes are closed. She’s frowning, but it’s the frown she wears when she’s trying too hard not to smile. It makes Kara want to kiss it right off her face. She takes a deep breath, instead.
Kara is just so grateful that she gets to see Lena like this, hair stringy from the hospital, oversize sweatshirt with one sleeve bunched up over the top of the lime green cast on her right arm. The post-surgical femoral fracture brace looks uncomfortable, but Lena hasn’t complained about it at all. So, fine, maybe this nearly debilitating urge to kiss her best friend, to ask her if the last few weeks could be real, instead of fake (not the marriage part, not now, anyway, but the relationship part sure), is getting more and more intrusive. That doesn’t mean Kara can’t continue to ignore it until Lena’s better.
She finishes washing Lena’s hair and if she takes extra time massaging in the conditioner and making sure the water temperature is absolutely perfect, well, that’s just being a good caretaker. She sets Lena up in her bedroom, then goes back to the kitchen to clean up
“Ok, Lena,” Kara says, walking back into the bedroom. “You officially have zero edible things in your apartment. I’m going to make a list and head to the grocery store for supplies, ok? Your next meds can’t be taken on an empty stomach.”
“You’re underestimating my iron constitution.” Lena frowns unhappily in bed. “We can just order some, you don’t have to go.”
“I’ll be back in a jiffy, okay?” Kara smiles at Lena.
Sure, they could order groceries, but she wants to go get them, to pick them out herself, and bring them back. It makes her feel so good to be able to do things like this: wash her hair, go get groceries, make her something to eat. The best part of this whole terrible ordeal is that she’s gotten to take care of Lena, to show her, not just tell her, how important she is to Kara. It warms her up from the inside out.
“You sure I’m allowed to be by myself?” Lena teases, breaking Kara out of her thoughts. “I haven’t been left to my own devices in weeks now. Just imagine all the trouble I could get into.” She raises an eyebrow.
Kara laughs and shakes her head, drawn closer to Lena like a magnet. Lena’s tucked into bed, leg propped up on pillows to keep the brace comfortable, two books on the nightstand beside her, a glass of water within easy reach, and the next round of medications in a small porcelain bowl that Kara repurposed from the kitchen. Her hair is still wet from being washed, and although there are dark circles around her eyes, and her cheekbones are too sharp from the weight she lost in the hospital, Kara doesn’t think she’s ever seen anything more beautiful than Lena right at this exact moment.
She walks over to the bed and sits down next to Lena, reaching over to move the glass of water back from the edge of the nightstand and onto a coaster. “You’re going to be fine. I’ll bet you a whole order of potstickers that you’re asleep when I get back.” She reaches across Lena, adjusts the towel covering up her pillow to keep it from getting wet.
When she pulls back slightly, she’s startled by how close Lena’s face is to hers. Lena is looking at her with such unadulterated fondness, that Kara can’t help reaching up and tucking a wet tendril of hair back behind Lena’s ear. “I’ll be back so soon you won’t even know I was gone.”
“I always know when you’re gone,” Lena says, the corners of her mouth lifting up, her eyes crinkling lightly. Kara’s hand has drifted from Lena’s ear to the back of her head, her thumb brushing gently at the soft skin just below Lena’s jaw.
When she retells the story of what happens next later, Alex will roll her eyes and mutter under hear breath, but Kara will swear this is the truth: without even thinking about it, she leans forward and kisses Lena on the lips, quick and soft, then stands and turns to go, pulling her phone out of her pocket so she can start making a grocery list.
“You can drop the act now,” Lena says, a little stiffly.
“Huh?” Kara whips around, more at Lena’s tone than at her words, and looks at her in confusion. Lena’s face is bright red.
“Kara, we’re - I’m home, there’s no hospital staff to convince anymore.” She sounds a little upset and Kara, feels her forehead crinkle as she replays the last several seconds in her head: she moved Lena’s water, adjusted the towel behind her head, smoothed Lena’s hair, and…
“Oh Rao, oh gosh.” She takes a step forward, then back abruptly, as she realizes that she’s just kissed Lena on the mouth. She puts one hand on her forehead and the other on her hip, spins in a small circle. “Lena, I’m so sorry. I didn’t - ”
“It’s fine,” Lena says, her voice sounding calm and even now that Kara is having a meltdown, but her heart is doing some sort of high speed gallop in her chest and it’s giving Kara the impression that this is not actually fine.
Oh no, oh gosh… “Lena, I’m sorry, - ”
“I get it.” Lena cuts her off, holding up a hand to stop her. “The whole act, it’s a hard habit to break.” She drops her hand to the bed and laughs lightly, picking at the blanket. “Honestly I’m surprised we made it this long without accidentally doing that.”
“Accidently. Yes.” Kara’s nodding so hard, she feels like her head might come off. “It was an accident.” That might be a convenient way of putting it, but it doesn’t change the fact that Kara’s been wanting to kiss Lena, wants it to be as un-accidental as possible. And aren’t accidents things like tripping on the carpet, or spilling a drink at dinner? She may not have been thinking when she did it, but Kara knows there’s nothing accidental about that kiss.
But Lena’s giving her an out, and Kara can’t bring herself not to take it.
“I’m just going to - ” Kara gestures over her shoulder and then she flees.
“Alex, I kissed her.” Kara’s made it outside the apartment, but her heart hasn’t slowed down. She didn’t even bother making a list after walking out of Lena’s bedroom, just went straight to the elevator, dialing Alex before she’d even hit the lobby. Her stomach is squirmy, she feels like she might throw up.
“Finally,” Alex says, letting out what might be a relieved sigh.
“What do you mean finally?” Kara feels hysterical.
“I mean finally, idiot. Watching the two of you for the past three weeks has been the most painful experience of my life, I’m glad you finally did it.”
“She thinks it was because of the act!” Kara nearly yells. A man walking by looks at her, narrowing his eyes and giving her a wide berth. “She thinks it’s because of the act, Alex!”
There’s silence on the other end of the line for a moment.
“Kara Danvers, are you fucking kidding me right now?”
“No,” Kara wails. “I didn’t even mean to do it! Or, well. I meant to do it, but I didn’t know I was doing it. I was making sure she had everything she needed and then I was leaving to go to the grocery story and somewhere in the middle I kissed her! And she got kinda upset even though she said she wasn’t and she says it’s fine because it was an accident. And it was an accident, at least in the sense that I wasn’t thinking when I did it and god I didn’t even ask if she wanted to kiss me, but I meant it, Alex, I meant it.”
Kara can picture Alex right now: that tight, unhappy expression on her face, fingers pinching her nose between her eyes.
“Okay, I swore to Kelly I wasn’t going to do this, but that was before you lost your damn mind and kissed her.” Kara can hear Alex take a deep breath. “You need to go back upstairs right now and confess, Kara.”
“What?” Kara practically screeches. She spins in a circle. “No, this isn’t the right time. I’m supposed to be helping her, I’m supposed to be taking care of her, I can’t put this on her right now. What if she doesn’t feel the same, what if this ruins everything, what if - “
Thankfully Alex cuts her off. “That argument worked before you kissed her and decided to let her believe you didn’t mean to do it. And before you argue with me, you might not have known you were doing it, but you absolutely meant to do it, Kara.”
Kara is now facing Lena’s apartment and gently knocking her forehead against it.
“Kara, I heard that crack, stop headbutting the building.” Kara stops, keeps her forehead pressed to the cool limestone. Alex pauses, and her voice is gentle when she continues. “You gotta tell her, kiddo. You’ve been down the whole lying path with her before and while I don’t think this is the kind of lie that would cause her to try removing our free-will again, I do think that you guys decided on honesty as your way forward. You either own that, or you don’t.”
“You’re right. I know you’re right.” Kara squeezes her eyes shut. “If we can get through that, we can get through this.”
“That’s the spirit. And hey, if for some reason things don’t go well and you feel like you can’t stay with her? Kelly or I would be happy to swap out for you tonight. Just in case you need some space.”
“Thanks, Alex.”
“But Kara, I think you’re gonna be just fine.”
Kara doesn’t feel much better when she hangs up with Alex, but she knows her sister is right. She’s got to tell Lena.
And to be honest, Kara can’t imagine a world in which Lena would be upset with her for having feelings, regardless of whether they’re reciprocated. They’ll be able to work through this, even if it hurts for a while. She’s had friends fall in love with her before, and she’s always been able to keep them as friends afterwards. God, maybe Winn has some advice for me, she thinks.
So Kara takes a deep breath and goes back inside. Groceries can wait.
She’s trembling when she lets herself back into Lena’s apartment. It’s nerves, anticipation more than anything. She’s about to confess something that she can’t, won’t take back and it will change things between them, even if only for a while.
Lena looks up from her book when Kara makes her way back into the bedroom. She sets it down beside her hip on the bed and cocks her head.
“Well that was fast. Did Supergirl get my groceries?” She gives Kara a smile.
“I’m in love with you.” Well that’s one way to start this conversation. “And I didn’t kiss you accidentally.”
Lena’s smile drops, her eyes widening in surprise. Everything about her seems to freeze.
“Before you say anything, I need to get this out. I’m not telling you because I’m expecting anything. I don’t want anything to change, I mean, I do, clearly, but I don’t if that’s not what you want.” Kara squeezes her eyes shut and looks at the ceiling. She really should have thought this through. “I’ve known for a while, actually, I was just worried about what it might mean, if you didn’t feel the same way.” She drops her gaze back to Lena. “But then you almost died. And I pretended to be your wife. And I was planning on telling you once you’re totally recovered. Except then I kissed you without even thinking about it and I can’t lie about this, Lena. It isn’t good for either of us. So. Yeah. Just. Tell me what you need.”
Lena’s looking at her with an expression Kara can’t read, but she doesn’t look unhappy, or afraid, or upset...
“Kara, do you remember when that nurse told me my wife had shown up?”
“Yes,” Kara says, frowning, because she doesn't understand where Lena is going with this. “Of course I do, you were panicked that you’d experienced severe brain damage.”
Lena shakes her head, pats the space on the bed next to her.
Kara feels a weight lift from her shoulders: no matter how this goes, if Lena is asking her to come closer, then they’re going to be okay. She walks across the carpet.
“You’re right,” Lena says as Kara comes closer, “I was worried, but that wasn’t the only thing that made me panic.”
“What else was it?” Kara sits down and looks at her lap, bringing her hands together to fidget. She can feel Lena’s body heat next to her, but she doesn’t want to reach out unless Lena does it first. “Was it the idea of being married to me?” She laughs. She can laugh about this.
“No, darling,” Lena says. She reaches for Kara’s hands, smoothing her fingers across them to still them. Darling, that’s a good sign, right? “Kara, as terrified as I was that there was more damage, my first thought was that somehow I’d lost memories of us: of you falling in love with me, of dating and first kisses and someone proposing and a wedding.” Lena pauses and Kara stares at their joined hands. She hears more than sees Lena take a deep breath and let it out. “I’ve been in love with you for so long it broke my heart to think that those things had happened and I couldn’t remember them.”
Kara whips her head around to look at Lena. Her best friend is smiling, and her eyes are a little wet like maybe she’s overwhelmed and might cry and oh gosh, does Kara understand that feeling right now.
“You love me,” she says, feeling her own eyes start to fill with tears.
Lena nods.
“You’re in love with me,” Kara can’t help clarifying. This is something out of a dream.
Lena nods again.
“Can I…” Kara reaches for Lena’s face, trails her knuckles down Lena’s cheek and watches in awe as Lena leans into the touch.  “Can I kiss you now?”
“Yes,” Lena breaths out, smiling, and it’s blinding. “But only if it’s not an accident.”

Legendary Cousins
So... I promised @peachy-scars that I would write them this a while back when they posted this, and after consulting y’all (I think it was @attllhak and several anons who helped the most) I finally had enough to just go ham and write this beautiful piece of garbage.
Hope you like it, Peaches!
They had landed in a new Hyrule, and Legend’s instant reaction was to blink and stare about with a conflicted expression on his face while the others had stared in confusion at their surroundings.
“Why’s this look so weird?” Wind demanded eloquently as he pulled himself out from beneath a giggling Hyrule, who always laughed nervously when they landed in a new Hyrule and seemed particularly giddy today.
“Wind, manners.” Time chided softly, pulling himself back up and working with Wild to pull his protégé back up, Twilight looking around dizzily as he leaned on his mentor for balance. “You don’t know whose home this might be.”
“I do.” Legend hissed softly, hooded eyes staring towards a nearby path while a slight smile touched his lips. “New Hero everyone.”
Glances were exchanged before shooting to the vet in confusion. “How...”
“You knew there were more heroes?” Warriors sputtered, staring at the vet in surprise while the hero in question pulled himself to his feet and shook out his limbs, knuckles crackling painfully and making the others wince.
“Time travel mixed with world hopping and the occasional visit to other countries.” Legend answered in a low voice, stretching towards the sky and standing on the tips of his toes (eyes turned away as the vet’s already short tunic rode higher). “I’ve met plenty of other heroes. Five- maybe six? Not sure.” He shrugged, arms falling back to his sides as he moved further into the forest. “Come along, if we want to check up on things we’d best get headed to the castle. Monsters out here are brutal, even if they are bloody crazy.”
Glances were exchanged again, Wind’s wide eyes growing wider as he mouthed the words ‘six other heroes’ to his brothers.
“Who met Legend before all this went down?” The captain hissed, pulling Four up onto his back. “Because it sure as heck wasn’t me.”
No one answered, and they didn’t have much of a chance to as the Vet’s voice broke through the forest, a harsh hiss for them to hurry. “You stay there all day the ‘blins’ll eat you!”
Eight heroes pulled themselves along, following after as Legend trailed silently through the forest.
Each stumble or loud noise earned a glare from the vet, and if it didn’t come from them, it made him freeze, steps stopping immediately as his ears would prick towards the sound. More than once, Twilight or Sky had to muffle a laugh in their respective wraps as the image of a bunny starting to alert entered their minds.
Maybe it’s the laughter. Maybe it’s just their dang Hero of Courage luck, or maybe it’s just because Hylia thinks it funny, but even with all Legend’s glaring and stopping and sneaking, they are attacked just as they reach the edge of the forest.
The monsters are... horrifying. Nothing most of them have ever even seen, and the only thing they can do as they fight is to take the vet’s advice. “Aim for the eyes! And if you can’t reach them, the ankles!” The vet shouts as he kicks into a spin attack. The other heroes follow suit, ripping into the beasts as Wild pulls back from the group, setting off volleys of arrows as best he can do by himself, and successfully blinding a few of the monsters.
They’re thick into the song of battle when an unknown voice rings out. “Good golly! Hang on there, sirs!”
It’s hard to see past the swarms of monsters (seriously, they’ve never been this thick!) but blonde hair and a swinging sword assure them that whomever it is, is likely the hero Legend had told them about. Enemies fall as bombs explode and various weapons pierce through hearts and heads.
Once the dust has cleared, they take careful stock of their injuries and weapons (Wild’s shattered another sword and Four is sighing wearily) before turning their attention to their unexpected help.
Legend and the other hero stand over a dead bokoblin, shaking hands in a friendly manner while the one chatters to the other, the vet smiling thinly but genuinely as he listens.
 “Vet, who’s this?”
“Ah! You have friends!” A bright smile is turned their way as the swordsman releases Legend’s hand. “Greetings! I’m Link.”
“The Hero of Koridai.” Legend adds on, rolling his eyes.
“Aw, come on, Other-Link!” The newcomer grins, jabbing Legend playfully in the side and effectively stealing his breath. “I’m just Link is all.”
“That’s all of their names too.” Legend wheezes, glaring up at the other.
The chain of heroes takes in the newcomer, who, much to the captain’s dismay, seems to share Legend’s opinion of pants, as well as a preference for pegasus boots. Bright brown eyes stare back at them, a dopey grin on the hero’s face, but beneath the welcoming grin there's a glint of something sharp and dangerous that has Warriors shuffling back warily.
“What adventure is this? Finish meeting up with your lovely cousins?”
The vet huffs a breath, clearing his throat as he straightens up again. “Thereabouts, this’ll be adventure seven.”
“Ooh, seven. Ouch.” Bright brown turn towards the vet with a sympathetic wince. “Sorry about that.”
“You had your own quests.” Legend dismisses, as if his words don’t confuse the others. “How’s Zelly by the way? We haven’t heard from her.”
Link, for lack of a better current name, smiles cheerily. “Half a minute yet there.” Turning to the others he offers yet another impossibly wide smile, it’s very nearly uncomfortable to look at, and Legend is the only one who seems unaffected by doing so (he has seen far, far worse from this world). “We should skedaddle over to the castle.” A halting motion is made towards the castle just in front of them as the newest hero laughs nervously. “As long as you’re there, you won’t be attacked.
And for lack of anything else to do, they agree, following after as Legend and the new Link chat in the front, Legend with an amount of patience that has never in their memory presented itself and the new Link with an almost irritating amount of pep and cheer. “Zelly’s doing great, and we’re hoping to visit all of you soon too! Or, we were, but the monsters started getting real bad an’ Zel figured we’d better stay behind to make sure they didn’t cause too much trouble.”
“How bad?” The vet’s brows quirk with concern and Warriors nearly stumbles at the gentle expression on Legend’s face.
“Just a bit stronger.” The new Link shrugs, but smiles brightly up at Legend. “It’s not as bad as last time though, so don’t worry your pink head about it.”
And Legend... Legend actually laughs, reaching up to tug the cap of the other Link as they cross into the shadow of Hyrule Castle’s walls.
“What the-” Warriors is cut off with a blaring ‘Beep!’ from Wind, who looks up at him cheekily when the captain looks down at him.
 “Censoring.” Wind chirrups.
”Soooo...” Twilight drawls, a smile pulling at his features as he looks between the duo, the heroes all relaxing as they enter the castle gates. “How do you two know each other?”
“We’re cousins!” Link chirrups happily, shooting another smile over his shoulder that’s just a bit too wide and a bit too sharp.”
“Third Cousins or...” Legend waves his hand vaguely. “Somethin’. Their father is my second cousin or some sort of thing, it’s unclear honestly, all we know is that Zelda is my cousin somewhere down the line and with those two dating-” The other Link flushes at the statement, face as dopey as Sky’s gets. “He’s bound to be thrown in there somewhere too.”
“Wait!” Four looks from one of the cousins to the other (there is a bit of resemblance, uncannily enough, even though Link smiles far more than Legend). “Whose time is this?”
The two share a look, nodding firmly before turning to the others and speaking together. “Both.”
“Two heroes? In one time?” Time cocks a brow.
Legend throws his hands up. “You can talk to Hylia about that!”
“Oh!” Link’s grin widens further as he bounces in place. “And how is Aunt Hylia? Golly, I haven’t seen her in ages!”
 “Aunt Hylia...” Sky blinks slowly.
The vet huffs. “Fine. She’s letting Fable back into the fighting ring this weekend, figured since the Master didn’t mess things up that it’d be okay to let Hylians head back out there. Hide the evidence if they send me an invite, yeah?”
“Will do!” Comes the chipper reply, but the other heroes aren’t done.
“Wait, wait, wait, how many heroes are there in this time?” Warriors looks from one to the other with panic building in his gaze.
Link frowns in what seems an over-the-top expression of thought. “Do the colors count?”
 Four chokes.
Legend flushes. “They count.” His voice is strained and nearly wheezing as swirling hazel stares a hole in his head.
“And then there’s the Hytopian wannabe, who might very well actually be one.” Link continues. “And the two of us. Does Great-Grandfather Raven count?”
“Not in this time, he just traveled here briefly when Nayru became corrupted.” Legend drawls with a head tilt, as if talking about meeting your ancestors and de-corrupting a goddess was normal for this world, and with the way Link just nods along, they are all beginning to worry that that is the norm here.
“Right, so five heroes.” Link nods slowly. “And then we have great-gramps Raven, and whoever- wait.” The new Link’s eyes fly wide open as he motions to Time. “Isn’t that Great-Gramps?”
Legend and Time both splutter as the vet hurries to correct the other hero. “No! He’s...” Legend looks from the startled Time to his cousin. “That’s the Hero of Time.” He whispers gravely, and Link’s eyes blow even wider as he looks to Time, who winces. They’ve all heard of what happened to the Hero of Time in this world.
“Oh!” Link breathes, before another smile stretches over his face. “Great-Great-Gramma Lon’s husband!”
Legend just facepalms while Time stands with his mouth flapping and fingers twitching, the old man now trying to calculate exactly how many children are now officially his while Warriors proceeded to have all the color drain out of his face.
“How are there two heroes of Courage here!!!!” The Captain hisses, and Link and Legend both look at each other. “And for the love of Hylia! Stop looking at each other all the time, what, can you read minds?!?!”
And both stare at the captain with the deadest of dead expressions, which actually makes Link all the more unnerving and Legend all the more intimidating. “Yes.”
It takes a while, but once they meet Zelda, she takes the time to explain.
“Our fathers are cousins.” She says, smiling at the heroes as they all sit and have lunch in the courtyard, motioning to Legend as she speaks. The vet is currently pulling his hat back off of his face after having it tugged down in vengeance for earlier. “Once both had married into the royal family, there was contention in the kingdom so Auntie Hylia sent Mapa and Papa out here to take care of this part of the kingdom while she handled things in central Hyrule.
“Most folks call Papa a king because they forget that it’s one country, but what with the high borders and all, it may as well be its own country.” She shrugs as she pops another piece of food in her mouth. “And there aren’t two Courage Wielders, technically. I mean, there are, but Link isn’t one of them.” She smiles in a sly sort of way, too wide, too knowing, too creepy for many of the heroes to be comfortable. “He just happens to care a lot and does what he can.”
“Oh yeah,” Hyrule nods knowingly, chewing slowly on his own meal. “My brother is like that too.”
The others, even Legend and Link, turn to Hyrule in shock. “Your what???”

You Live In Sweatpants And Hoodies (GeorgeNotFound)
MASTERLIST
pairing : georgenotfound / george x influencer!reader.
summary : george and your fans realize that under all the sweaters, you have a body.
a/n : if you are wondering what dress i was talking about, search up jennie short black dress :)
before social media, you studied law and got a degree in it but ended up not using it due to your social media career sky rocketing.
but you never thought studying was a waste, that could be your backup, after all. social media doesn’t last forever. and you were ready to accept any difficulties since you knew you had plan b.
you, till this day, could not describe what you do on social media. it started with tiktok. everything nowadays started with tiktok. but you were one of the first people who was on it.
and then tiktokers would make their way onto youtube to sustain their “career” and grow. so that’s what you did. you never abandoned that app, though. especially not now, everyone on that app is seriously hilarious.
your content on youtube was all over the place. once, for a video, you talked to weird men on omegle and tinder. another time, you would try different aesthetics on yourself.
but here’s the catch, you’ve never really worn revealing clothes. your mum had always told you to never deprive yourself from what she says “fun young girl things” which is dressing up, or down, in her say and go have fun with your friends.
but since the pandemic hit, you have had no where to go anyways, and you never really liked to show off your body. it’s not that you felt uncomfortable doing it, it’s just that you’ve never had the reason to.
you also didn’t grow up girly. you hated dresses, especially short and tight dresses. and you weren’t a fan of wearing shorts either. you always opted to go comfy.
whenever you post a tiktok, you always wore your signature hoodie and sweatpants that were clearly sizes too big for you. but you liked it, it’s comfortable to sleep in.
and whenever you had to pan down to show your outfits on youtube, you were always caught wearing jeans and a baggy shirt, just styled differently, according to the aesthetic of the video you were filming for.
you heard your phone ring from the couch. you picked it up, knowing who it was anyways. “morning, cutie.” you stared.
“morning b.” george greets you, hair everywhere, clearly just woken up.
you and george met on tiktok, just like all good friends do. he had duetted a tiktok of yours and you found him hilarious. you quickly followed him on every single social media platform he was in. you even set an alarm in case he ever streams and you’re asleep.
you two are close. some would say you two are dating, but you two haven’t figured it out yet. you two didn’t really want to disclose it anyways, you two knew your not so secret feelings for each other, anyways.
remember when he called you ‘b’? yeah that stands for ‘bub’. he thought it would be cute for him to have a different nickname than the usual “baby” or “babe”.
you two actually live very near each other, making it way easier as a couple, but since england was put into a quarantine order, you two didn’t meet often.
some would probably ask why you’d have to set an alarm when he streams when you two clearly are in the same timezone? well, that boy had no sense of time and a terrible sleeping schedule. it amazed you at how early he got up today.
that facetime call lasted about half an hour before you told him you needed to stream on twitch today, to which he responded to you that he’s watch it later.
today, you had a surprise. for the world. you can’t believe you even thought about this but it was about time you showed off to the world what assets you’ve been blessed with.
speaking of showing off. no, you weren’t a particularly insecure person, you were just comfortable in the clothes you’re in. but celebrating the long time you’ve been on social media, and it being your birthday, you thought it might be fitting.
george and you agreed to not make anything special about your birthday. you hated parties and large gatherings, and since you were still in the middle of a pandemic, you used that as an excuse to not go out.
you spent the longest time searching for a good enough outfit for this day. and you found it. you decided to pick a pretty simple dress, a black short dress that went to your mid thigh, that showed off your waist, spaghetti strapped and a little backless.
you walked out the shower, your robe on as you walked to your bathroom counters to dry your hair. you didn’t really bother to style it, just leaving you straight long hair down.
you put on the most basic white sneakers you could find to still make it casual, and you thought it went well together, anyways.
you finished you makeup and took a good look at yourself. you had been aware that you only wore baggy clothes, so this was a huge change. you twirled yourself, feeling confident.
you couldn’t wait for people to have heart attacks.
you sat on your gaming chair, getting ready to start your stream.
before you started your stream, you made sure you left your facecam turned off first.
you went live. chat was confused since this was the first time that you’re not on facecam. all they could see at the moment was the caption “IT’S MY BIRTHDAY!” that you typed on your notes app on your computer.
“hi, chat.” you said, to calm them down a little.
you heard your phone go off, a text notification. which you knew was george since he had a special notification ping on your phone.
it said “did you forget to turn on your cam?”
you laughed at that. “no, chat, i haven’t forgotten to turn on my facecam, just wait for a sec, please.”
you felt giddy, excited for the reactions.
instead of wearing your cute cat headphones, you wore your airpods instead to get the whole look going.
you let out a sigh before moving your mouse cursor to linger on the ‘start recording camera’ button. you clicked on it, before moving your chair back to fully say hi to your chat.
you brought your hands up to wave to the camera. you tilted your head slightly. “soooo, it’s my birthday.” you said.
chat was going crazy so you stopped reading them so you wouldn’t get a headache. the donations went crazy too, but you tried your best to read them all.
you thanked the people who subscribed to you or gifted you subs.
“360 of this dress? sure, i’ll give you a twirl.” you replied a dono.
you stood up, and rolled your gaming chair away so that they can see your whole outfit. you spun around once, quickly telling them where you got the dress from.
you tried to hold your foot on one hand, balancing yourself to show them that you could go casual in this dress too.
what you noticed was that, your phone hadn’t stopped beeping from a text notification, which belonged to the one and only georgenotfound.
and since maybe he noticed that you won’t check your phone, he sent a donation instead.
“WHAT THE FUCK.” the monotoned voice read out the donation, which was from george.
you facepalmed, knowing exactly what his reaction is like at home.
“I’M COMING OVER.” the voice said again. you laughed at his antics.
“see you then.” you replied, laughing, knowing he was joking around anyways.
-
GEORGE’S POV
she thinks i’m joking, isn’t she?
well, she gave me her spare key for a reason, and this would be the best reason.
i knew i wanted to come around anyways. just after her stream. i promised her no going out, but not no gifts and ordering in.
sneaky, i know.
i had a plan brewing in my mind. to walk in her house as quietly as possible, to surprise her.
after seeing her in that dress, i don’t think i can stand our fans not knowing we aren’t dating.
i know, i haven’t really asked her out, but we kinda both agreed that there was no use, knowing each other’s feeling was good enough and that we didn’t need to do anything extravagant.
i don’t know what she’s tell her fans but i’m sure i hadn’t disclose our relationship. the fans shipped us, sure, but i don’t think i’ve ever said it out loud.
we knew we’d have to say it someday. so i thought, why not today? as i surprised her at her own house.
her fans watching her stream are tweeting at me like crazy. no one had seen her like that. she practically lives in sweats and hoodies, constantly.
the most fitting thing i’ve seen her wear is skinny jeans, but she would always wear a baggy top with it. people always say she drowns in her clothes, but i never complained, she looked good either ways.
but seeing her in that dress, damn. i needed to be there and hug her, kiss her. i couldn’t wait to see her in that dress, right in front of my eyes.
our observant fans or close friends have asked if she dresses the same at home, and my answer always stayed the same. that she lives in baggy clothes.
there are some creepy people out there who would ask that question in a sexual way. thinking i’ve seen her in less. but truthfully, i haven’t. we’re not pass that stage, and we prefer it this way.
what the fans see is what i see on the daily, too.
and no, me going to her house to see her more clearly in that dress doesn’t mean we’re doing anything. i just want to observe her beauty. see what she’s hid from me.
-
YOUR POV
chat was going crazy over george’s donation. but you still laughed it off. it’s all a joke anyways, him coming over.
he was coming over later, after noon, so he wouldn’t just drop everything to see you right now.
“geez. chill out, chat, george was joking.” you told them.
you sat on your gaming chair more comfortably as you started playing a couple rounds of among us with your fans. you told them not to cheat and watch your stream as they’re playing ad lucky you, they listened.
for some reason, your chat still kept blowing up with george comments. maybe they were still caught up on that comment he said earlier.
but you hadn’t thought that he’d be behind you the entire time, telling the chat to not make it obvious.
“happy birthday, b” you heard a very familiar voice from behind you.
you almost had a whiplash from how quick you turned your head to see who was behind you.
you stood up to hug him, almost falling to the floor, stumbling on your own feet.
with the way you ran to him, he almost fell to the floor. “you’re here, you’re here.” you kept repeating it to him, not believing that he actually came. you knew he’d come later, but not this early.
george moved you back gently to see your full outfit. you two were aware that the facecam is still on, and pointing to you two, seeing every move.
“come here.” he whispered to you before grabbing your waist, to kiss you.
you two took a little while enjoying each other’s company, still in front of everyone on twitch.
he moved you back a little, turning you to face your gaming monitors. “MY GIRLFRIEND, EVERYBODY. isn’t she so hot, oh my god.” he said to the stream.
you laughed at his stupid antics, covering your face with your hands as you blushed.
your chat didn’t stop talking about the interaction, not believing that their ship was finally sailing.
you played a couple more rounds of among us with them, george taking over sometime or making funny comments to entertain your chat while you played.
after the stream, george and you took time to enjoy the time alone, ordering in your favourite food and opening gifts that he bought you.
you forgot to mention that both of your twitter was blowing up too much that you had to mute it for a while. you knew that a lot had screenshot the cute moment.
you took note to screenshot some of the photos on twitter later.

Lair
“Well that explains why you’ve never been to your lair,” Ember said, smirking. “You didn’t even know it existed.”
Danny laughed before turning his attention back to the oddly familiar door in front of him. “Well I do spend most of my time in the human world. And I don’t even usually pay much attention to these doors. There are so many. How’d you find it?”
“Ectosignature, silly,” Ember said, rapping a knuckle on the wood. “Don’t you know anything about ghost culture?”
Danny looked away, rubbing his neck sheepishly.
“Er, sorry. I guess that was a dumb question,” Ember said. She gestured to the door. “Well here you go! There’s your lair. You can… ya know… explore it and stuff.”
Danny moved to open the door but let his hand hover over the knob, strangely apprehensive. “What was… what was inside?”
Ember’s eyebrows flew up. “You think I went inside?” She sounded dumbfounded. “Even if lair doors weren’t locked until the owner of the lair first opens them, Don’t you know how- I mean…” She corrected herself. “It is super rude to enter a ghost’s lair uninvited.”
Danny’s mouth formed a silent “O”, causing Ember to perform a facepalm. That did explain some of the encounters he’d had in the Ghost Zone.
“Well, uh…” Danny’s attention fell back to the door in front of him. “Do you at least have some idea of what I might find in here? I mean… what’s a lair usually like?”
“Eh, I don’t know exactly how it works,” Ember said, leaning back in the air thoughtfully. “I think sometimes they’re connected to your obsession. Sometimes they’re just like, where you’d be happiest or thrive the best.” She shrugged. “I dunno, I’m no scientist.”
Danny exhaled a puff of air. “Okay. That doesn’t sound so bad.” He placed his hand on the handle of the door. He hesitated. Why was he so nervous?
Vaguely ominous notes began strumming from behind him. Danny turned towards the girl behind him who was currently plucking out the foreboding background music on her guitar with a mischievous half-smile on her face.
“You know, you’re not helping,” Danny said in slight exasperation.
Ember stopped playing as she stifled a snicker. “All right, all right,” She said, feigning offense. “I’ll take my leave. Don’t die in there!” She said before speeding off into the foggy expanse of the Ghost Zone.
“Still not helping!” Danny called after her before turning back to the door.
Danny put his hand back on the handle. He hadn’t noticed taking it off. Perhaps because of curiosity, perhaps because of some unidentifiable anxiety, he paused before opening the door to examine its exterior. It looked familiar somehow, yet he couldn’t quite put his finger on where he’d seen it before. It was something he knew he should know, but the recollection of where the door was from escaped him.
He sighed. Come on. Just open the door. There’s nothing to be afraid of.
He opened the door.
And he suddenly remembered where he’d seen that door before.
Behind the door lay a perfect replica of his own bedroom. He looked around in puzzlement as he stepped inside and closed the door behind him. Every detail was the same, all his model spaceships exactly where they should be, the little glow-in-the-dark stars arranged on the ceiling as close to the night sky as he’d been able to get them, everything precisely where it should be all the way down to the math homework laid out on his desk which he’d only gotten that morning.
Danny looked behind himself at the door, an eyebrow raised questioningly. Had the door just taken him to his own bedroom? His own house? Was the ghost lair of a halfa just his own home?
He looked back at his room and let out a laugh, changing back to human form. He felt a little disappointed that his adventure had simply led him back to where he went every day, but mostly relieved. He’d been afraid he’d find… well, something… in his lair that he didn’t want to find. His lair simply being his own bedroom was a bit underwhelming, but far from the worst it could have been.
In fact, he thought as he looked back at the oh, so familiar door, it was a little convenient that he’d been dropped off straight at home. He’d had his little adventure, and now he could commence his evening again right off the bat.
As Danny opened the door, he was pleased to see that it opened to the hall of his house, not back into the Ghost Zone. Yep, he was back at home.
“Danny, come down for dinner!” his mother’s voice echoed up the stairwell.
“Coming!” Yep, very convenient that he’d been brought straight here. He didn’t want to make his parents suspicious by missing dinner again.
He reached the bottom of the stairs and was promptly greeted by his parents and sister, all sitting down at the dinner table.
“Hey,” Danny said as he sat down, looking around dubiously. “...Why are we all eating dinner together? What’s the occasion?”
“Nothing, Danno! Except that your mother and I thought it might be nice to have family dinners more often,” Dad explained.
“We know you’ve been having a bit of a rough time with school and, well, everything, and something’s obviously going on with you that you’re not telling us,” Mom began.
Anxiety spiked in Danny’s gut. Did they know? Were they going to figure it out? How did he mess up enough to tip them off to that fact? They couldn’t figure out his secret; they’d hate him if they knew that he was a-
“...But we just want you to know that we love you no matter what. And nothing could ever change that.”
“We wouldn’t even stop loving you if you became a ghost!” Dad bellowed jovially. Mom rolled her eyes at him but smiled at Danny in silent agreement to the statement.
Danny sat back, stunned. Did he hear that right?
Jazz looked as surprised as he was. “Did you just say you’d love him even if...?” Her question trailed off.
Mom cocked an eyebrow. “...He was a ghost? Of course. He’d still be our Danny.”
It was too good to be true. Danny still almost couldn’t believe what he’d heard. Tears pricked his eyes. “Thanks. That’s… good to hear.”
At the sight of the tears Mom wrapped an arm around Danny’s shoulders. “Oh, sweetie, was that what you’ve been worrying about? Why you always look so scared when we talk about ghost hunting?”
“It’s just that, the way you’ve been treating Phantom…”
“Oh, we actually just made a truce with him this morning.”
...Wait. What?
Danny glanced at Jazz in confusion. She was grinning at him, but stopped when she saw his confusion. What? She mouthed.
Danny’s eyes dropped to the table in puzzlement. Something was wrong here. That hadn’t happened. At least not to him. Was there a ghost impersonating him or something? He really needed to get Jazz alone to talk about it.
Just when he was about to speak, something beeped loudly down in the lab.
Mom and Dad’s eyes met. “Jack, did you forget to-” Mom started.
“Yes.”
At that, they both rushed down the stairs.
“...Perfect timing.” Danny muttered to himself. He looked at Jazz. “I didn’t make a truce with Mom and Dad this morning.”
Jazz frowned. “But you told me about it during lunch. It happened during first period, remember? You missed that chemistry test to go fight Skulker? And you told me about how you were worried that was going to make you fail chemistry but I told you your grades were great even if you couldn’t retake it?” Danny looked more confused by the second. “You don’t remember any of that?”
“Jazz, since when have my grades been great?”
Jazz raised an eyebrow, pulled out her phone, and showed him his grades on it. He stood up and walked around the table to get a better look. Straight A’s.
Danny stumbled back. That- he didn’t have straight A’s, what- something wasn’t right-
“Jazz, where are Sam and Tucker?” Danny asked hesitantly.
“I think they said they were going to be coming over any minute now.”
At that exact moment the door burst open. Sam and Tucker entered, looking too happy, too healthy, much too carefree. Oh no, not them too.
“Danny!” They called out, rushing to give him a hug. Danny returned their embrace stiffly.
“Hey guys. You look like you’re doing… really well.”
Sam snorted, pushing him away. “Well you sound weirdly disappointed about that. What, do you miss all the ghost fighting we used to do?”
“Used to do?”
Jazz looked down at Danny in concern. “Are you okay, Danny? Don’t you remember all the truces you made with the ghosts? You’ve hardly had to fight anyone for weeks.”
“...I…” Was he in some kind of alternate timeline? How did he get here?
He suddenly remembered something Ember had said about ghost lairs: “Sometimes they’re just like, where you’d be happiest or thrive the best.”
Of course.
“...This isn’t real…” Danny whispered.
“What?” Jazz asked.
“It’s not… you’re not real!” Danny stepped back and glared at the things that looked like his friends and sister.
“Dude, of course we’re real,” Tucker said, reaching out a hand in concern.
Danny slapped it away and stepped back again. “No, you’re all just figments of my imagination or something.” He stepped back again and found his back against the door. “This isn’t real. It’s all just… fake.” He wasn’t really talking to the people in front of him anymore. He slid down to the floor and buried his face in his hands. “Why would Mom and Dad actually make a truce with me? Or be willing to accept me? Of course it’s not real.”
A hand rested on his shoulder. “Danny-” Jazz began.
Danny flung her hand away and phased through the door behind him, ignoring the shouts of surprise from those in the room. He found himself back outside his lair, in the Ghost Zone. A glance over his shoulder revealed the door, which looked like his bedroom door again, still shut. No concerned voices leaked through. Nothing thrust the door open to search for him.
He stared at the door numbly. It had been nice while it lasted, to have a dinner with his family, to have his parents not plotting his murder for once, to see Sam and Tucker without injuries stemming from his folly. Even if it wasn’t real.
A wry chuckle escaped his lips at the same moment as tears began to well in his eyes.
Of course it couldn’t be real.

What UA taught me
this was going good and then it wasnt
pairing: bakugou x reader
word count: 3k
genre: fluff
summary: it was the sports festival at UA, but your school gets broken into by villains
12.05.20
-
“Hello?”
“Hey Katsuki! It’s nice to hear your voice again,” you tease with a smile as Bakugou goes silent on the other side before quickly replying, “you should be thankful I picked up your damn call,” he shoots back, but you know better.
“Like you didn’t answer my call right away,” you giggle as you glance up at the orange sky, “but you’re right. I should be thankful thee Bakugou Katsuki has picked up my call.”
“That’s what I thought,” he finishes, a small smile on his lips. It had been a while since he was able to joke around with you like this, and did it leave him feeling more refreshed at hearing your voice. “Sorry that we haven’t been able to call often, it’s been hectic as a second year,” Bakugou confesses, but you shake your head, knowing he wouldn’t be able to see you.
“Don’t worry about it Katsuki, I know you’re working hard to become number one. Our phone calls can always wait,” you say gently, a small smile on your lips, “I’m just happy we were able to call today.”
“Oh! You want to hear something funny?” you begin to tell Bakugou all sorts of stories about your new classmates and the new things you’ve been doing now that you’re no longer at UA.
Bakugou shared a few stories with you as well, keeping you up to date on your old classmates and friends. You smiled as he rambled on about Midoriya before talking about his hero internships and how they weren’t as hands on as he’d like.
“Maybe I’ll get lucky and run into you on the streets when you’re doing work study,” your tone shifted into a hopeful one as you thought about seeing Bakugou in person, “that would be so nice.”
“Don’t come distracting me now,” he teases, causing you to roll your eyes, “yeah right. You’re going to distract yourself. Stop putting the blame on me,” you tease back with a slight giggle before it goes silent on both sides.
“I really miss you, you know?” you confess with a sigh. “It sucks not being able to see you every day. I can’t believe I’ve already gone two months without seeing you once.”
“Yeah, yeah, I miss you too,” he responds and you could already imagine the faint blush on his cheeks, causing you to smile. “Don’t forget to watch me on the big screen next week.”
“How could I ever forget UA’s sports festival? It’s like the biggest event in Japan!” you cry, “My classmates and I are going to watch it together in class. I haven’t told them about you yet, so they’re in for a surprise once I tell them who I’m dating,” you giggle into the phone.
“Damn right, those extras better know who you belong to,” rolling your eyes at his dramatic comment, you see the train station ahead, much to your dismay.
“Oh, I’m at the station. I’ll have to end the call here, Katsuki,” standing still under the streetlights that helped light the darkening streets, you let out a sigh. “I’ll call again after the sports festival next week. Good luck! Let’s get another win this year!” you cheer, hearing Bakugou snort from the other side.
“If I win, do I get a prize?” Bakugou asks, and you knew he wasn’t talking about some medal. “I don’t know. How about you win first, then we can talk?”
Bakugou clicks his tongue, “Come on, give me some motivation here, sweet cheeks,” he calls out, adding pet names that have you rolling your eyes, “Jeez, you’re so needy,” you joke, shaking your head with a smile.
“Um, I’ll give you a kiss if you win,” you say, “Can’t back out now, I’m going to expect a kiss by the end of the day after my victory,” he says undoubtedly, causing you to gawk.
“But you’re not allowed out and I’m not allowed in!” you protest, but you hear him click his tongue. “Should’ve thought of that beforehand, princess. See you later, don’t forget my prize.”
Beep.
Pulling your phone back to see the ended phone call, you could feel your cheeks heating up from the thought of a kiss. It wasn’t like you two had never kissed, but a kiss after two months apart had you fainting at just the thought.
Shaking away your nerves, you quickly made your way to the station before waiting for your train.
---
“It’s starting! “your classmates shouts as they quickly ran to their seats, students scrambling around quickly before quieting down to watch the television that had been rolled into class.
One of the biggest events in Japan was just about to begin—UA’s annual sports festival. Businesses and schools alike had been shut down for the day so everyone would be able to enjoy such an anticipated event.
Thankfully, your teacher had talked with the principal into letting your class watch the event in the classroom together and thankfully, he agreed, which resulted in where you were right now.
Memories of your first year at UA beginning to flood your brain as you watched the familiar stage and arena in nostalgia, but now as a spectator.
“Didn’t you use to go to UA, (Name)?” a classmate asked as they turned around to face you before you gave them a nod. “So you were in the sports festival last year too?”
You gave them another nod before they awed at you. “Whoa! Is it just as intense as it looks?” Your eyes widen with another nod, “You have no idea. It’s super competitive, but it’s definitely rewarding at times.”
“Oh, here comes the first years!”
As everyone focused back on the television, you couldn’t help the butterflies in your stomach. You felt so nervous for all of the students, but you also were so anxious to see Bakugou on television.
Of course he was going to do well, but it’s been so long since you’ve seen him, well, in action.
Watching the first years was just as amazing as you had remembered your first year to be. You had some favorites, quirk wise and personality wise.
Though you loved watching the new first years of UA, you couldn’t wait to get to the second years, where your old classmates were and especially your boyfriend.
It had been a few months since you’ve seen them and you couldn’t wait to see how they’ve progressed in such a short amount of time.
After Midnight had announced this year’s winner’s for the first years, the second years walked out onto the stadium, looking ready for anything heading their way.
Present Mic was already announcing the introductions to the second years, causing your heart to flutter.
The camera landed on Bakugou, with Present Mic loud commentating, “Last year’s winner, Bakugou Katsuki! Will he be able to keep his title as victor this year?”
Bakugou rolled his eyes at the camera, stuffing his hands in his pockets at the comment.
“Also representing the second years, is Bakugou Katsuki!”
Bakugou shot his head over at Midoriya with a glare as the poor green haired male brought his hands up in defense. “We all thought you’d be a great representative after everything that’s happened in our first year!” Mina cried as she jumped on his back playfully.
You could see your old classmates surround him with warm and supportive smiles before Bakugou eventually gave in and walked up to the microphone beside Midnight.
“I still will become number one,” he starts casually, “but if I somehow don’t, I know my class will come out on top.”
Everyone in the stadium gawked at his answer. He wasn’t much different than he was a year ago, but he was definitely more fond of his classmates. You couldn’t help but smile at his answer.
Midnight let out a chuckle, “Well, you seem very certainly motivated today. What is behind that motivation?”
Bakugou took a step forward, grabbing where the mic sat in the stand, “My girlfriend said she’d give me a kiss if I won first place,” he said smugly, glancing over at the camera. “(Name), you don’t want to let everyone down now if you don’t give me a kiss.”
You choke upon hearing his answer as you watch him walk away like he hadn’t just exposed you to all of Japan.
Your classmates all slowly turned their gaze on you, silently demanding an answer on why the stuck-up blonde had said your name and called you his girlfriend.
You duck your head down sheepishly, “I was going to tell you all at the end of the day today, but I guess he already announced it to all of Japan,” you start. “That’s my boyfriend, Bakugou Katsuki,” you confirm with an awkward smile before your class erupts in chaos, missing the start of the second year’s obstacle course.
-
“And finally, this year’s first place winner is Bakugou Katsuki! For the second time in a row!” Midnight announces, as Endeavor, being the new number one hero, hands out their medals.
You facepalm internally as you watch Bakugou with his smug smile. You knew he was just waiting for that kiss!
Once the third years walked out onto the arena, you felt your phone vibrating before Bakugou’s caller ID lit up the screen, causing your eyes to widen before some of your classmates noticed.
“(Name) ’s boyfriend is calling her!” they teased, “he’s waiting for that kiss!”
Pouting, you stood up before grabbing your phone and walking towards the doors, “Jeez, you don’t have to remind me!” you cry, sliding the door open before stepping out to take the call.
Sliding the accept button, you bring the phone towards your ear, “Hello?”
“So, when am I going to get that kiss?” his low attractive voice says through your phone speakers as you scrunch up your nose, “Katsuki, I can’t believe you announced that to all of Japan,” you whine before he lets out a snort, “just making sure you don’t forget.”
Your classmates begin to cheer loudly from within the class as you peek through the door’s small window before focusing back on Bakugou.
“First of all, congratulations on winning! Secondly, I’d love to give you a kiss, but I just don’t know how we’ll be able to see each other,” you had gone through the possible options, but they never made it far. UA becoming a boarding school made it almost impossible for the two of you to meet.
“Well, when do you think the next time we’ll be able to see each other is?” Bakugou asked, irritated that he wouldn’t be getting his kiss anytime soon.
“New Years?”
Bakugou choked. “New Years? Are you fucking kidding me? You know it’s still early in the year,” he complains, but all you can do is shrug your shoulders.
“That’s how it’s gonna be, so suck it up. We only ever went home once last year and that was for New Years,” you inform, hearing him huff on the other side of the phone. “I know you really want that kiss, Katsuki. I want to kiss you just as much, but we can’t see each other because of how strict UA has become, I’m sorry.”
Bakugou sighed, “Don’t be sorry,” he starts, earning a smile from you, “our New Year’s kiss better be fucking worth it.” You couldn’t help the giggle that falls from your lips at his words. “It will be, I promise.”
After saying quick goodbyes, you and Bakugou ended the phone call before you made your way back into class to finish watching the remainder of the sports festival with your classmates.
“What did I miss?” you ask, sliding into your chair as your eyes focused back onto the screen. “Nothing much, just the third year introductions. They just started the obstacle course.”
Suddenly out of nowhere, a loud explosion was heard, causing you to jump from your seat.
“What was that?” you asked nervously, your classmates alike glancing around with wide eyes. “Was that from the TV?”
“It couldn’t have been...that sounded way too loud and too close.” a classmate responded as you stood up in your seat to walk carefully toward the door, listening for any other sounds.
When no other explosion came, you quietly slid the door open before secretly peeking your head out, glancing around for any suspicious activity. But you couldn’t pick up on anything.
Turning around to face your shaken up classmates, you let out a determined breath. “I’m not sure what the situation is right now, but I’m going to need you all to stay calm and cooperate with me here,” you order as they all glanced at you.
“Enna, could you use your quirk to see how many people are in the building and what they are doing right now?” she quickly nods her head before standing up and closing her eyes, activating her quirk as you all watch silently.
Her eyes shoot open before she glances over at you in fear, “There are three people on the first floor, heading up to the second floor where we are. It looks like there might be some people surrounding the school perimeter as well,”
You nod and thank her before turning to look at another classmate, “Miki, you have an enhanced hearing quirk, right? Could you press your ear against the door and try to listen for what they might be saying?”
You could tell she was shaken up, but she nodded nonetheless. Walking shakily towards the door, she pressed her ear against the cold surface for a minute before turning over to you.
“They’re looking for the UA student who transferred...”
Your eyes widened as her words struck you—they were coming for you.
Your heart was beating wildly in your chest even as you tried to calm yourself down. Glancing over at your classmates, they looked terrified, some bursting into tears at the thought of villains heading their way.
You were surprised you could stay calm during such an event, but then it hit you. You’ve been through this, facing villains head on. You had been training for this and you were their only hope of staying safe.
Putting on a determined face, you face your classmates, “Listen up and listen closely, we don’t have much time,” you start, leaning closer, “We know they’re coming for me, so we have to make sure we keep them away from us as soon as possible until help arrives.”
Their desperate eyes watch you as they nod with every word you say, clinging onto the hope you had given them.
“Worst case scenario is that we have to fight them ourselves, but let’s do our best to keep ourselves safe,” you say with a comforting smile, “I’ve gone through enough training at UA to be able to devise a plan, but it can only do so much.”
And so you began to create a plan with all of the quirks from your classmates.
A classmate with an animal shifting quirk would change herself into a bird and fly out of the window to find any pro hero patrolling out in the streets, while your classmates try to secretly and safely escape.
You tried dialing Bakugou to no avail; his phone most likely turned off due to the sports festival.
‘there are villains at my school, please come with help as soon as you see this’
quickly hiding your phone in your pocket before turning around to continue your escape route with your classmates.
“Here, this way, quietly,” you usher towards the window as Enna had cleared the area of any villains, making it the escape route. “They’re searching the classes right now, we need to hurry,” Miki explained as you helped the students lower themselves onto the ground with the makeshift rope.
“There are two people around the corner, but if we use Tomoya’s quirk, we could make it out without being detected,” Enna informed as you turned towards Tomoya.
Before you could ask for his help, he nodded at you before kneeling down, touching the ground with his fingertips before raising his hand into the air, creating an illusion of the same image of the school ground, but with the students hidden behind the illusion wall.
“I can only keep this illusion up well for five minutes before it starts vanishing,” Tomoya explains as he continued to hold his arms up with the illusion.
On the other side of the gate, you could see the students running away to safety while you were left with Tomoya and another student who was climbing down the ropes from the window.
“Ah!” a scream caught your attention before you heard a thud, a student on the ground clutching her ankle. “(Name), I think I sprained my ankle!” she cried as she glanced up at you for help.
“(Name) I can’t hold this for much longer,” Tomoya strained as you could see the illusion slowly warp away. To your dismay, the two men around the corner noticed your presence as they came rushing over. “Over here!”
“Tomoya! Get Nina to safety!” you cried as you ran towards the two men.
“What about you, (Name)?” he shouted, but you continue running, “Don’t worry! Go find the pros, I’ll stop them from getting to you guys!”
As you came face to face with the two large men, you were quick enough to dodge their arms, running under them before pressing a hand on their back before activating your quirk.
Chains began to wrap around their torsos before you pull your arms in, causing their bodies to smash together as you held them tightly against each other as long as you could.
Your strength with holding down two people wasn’t as strong as when you held down one person, but your quirk training had prepared you for this. Curling over yourself, you held your breath as you continued to hold the two men down.
Minutes passed before you felt yourself starting to lose consciousness from the overuse of your quirk to its full potential.
At least all of your classmates are safe and away from danger. This is what being a hero is, right? Your vision begins to blackout, your grip on the villains loosens before you fall onto the ground with a thud.
“Congratulations on receiving first again for the second time in a row!” Sero cheers, wrapping an arm around Bakugou’s shoulder as the class returned to their dorms after an eventful day.
Shaking the man’s arm off, he trudged forward into the common area before walking into the kitchen for some water.
“Hurry up and turn the TV on! I need to relax now!” Mina exclaims, falling onto the couch beside Momo. As the television turned on, the news channel came on, catching everyone’s attention.
“A group of villains broke into a high school today in search of a previous student of UA,” the newscaster announced as Bakugou’s focus shifted towards the television.
“All students were able to escape safely thanks to their classmate, (Last Name) (Name), who devised a plan to get everyone to safety, even using her quirk to keep the villains strapped in place.”
The camera shifted to a classmate of yours, interviewing them on the terrifying event. “(Name) stayed calm even when she knew she was being targeted. If it wasn’t for her, I don’t know if we’d all be here safe and sound.”
“She prioritized us over herself and made sure we were safe. She’s so brave. A true hero.”
“(Name) was unconscious when pro heroes entered the scene and she is currently under UA’s care, suffering minor injuries due to over exhausting herself from quirk use.”
Bakugou threw his cup in the sink before digging into his pockets to find his phone, now noticing all the missed calls from you before reading your heartbreaking text.
“Fuck!” he yelled, running out of the dorms only to crash into Aizawa around the corner.
“Bakugou-”
“Do you know where (Name) is?” Bakugou pleaded, “please.”
Aizawa let out a sigh before answering, “she’s in the nurse’s office with Recovery Girl. Make it back before 10 pm and I won’t give you any consequences,” Aizawa inform before Bakugou was off and running again.
As soon as he made it to the Recovery Girl’s office, he noticed you on the bed closest to the window, your eyes focused on the scenery below you.
“(Name),” Bakugou breathes as your head turns to face him, eyes widening. “Katsuki?”
Before he could think, his body moved on its own, falling into your lap as he wrapped his arms around your waist, face in your stomach. “Katsuki, are you okay?”
Pulling away, he gave you a stern look, “You fucking passed out fighting some villains, (Name).”
“It was only for about an hour or two, I’m just here for precautions,” you say, staring into his eyes before smiling. “But I’m glad I get to see you today,”
Sighing, Bakugou hid his face in your stomach with a sigh. “I’m sorry I wasn’t there when you needed me. If only I had picked up your calls or read your text you wouldn’t have ended up here,” he confessed but you shake your head.
“You had things to do, don’t worry about it. I’m safe now aren’t I?”
Bakugou reaches over to intertwine his hands with yours, “be more careful, dumbass. You’re lucky they were some low class villain that didn’t know what they hell they were doing.”
Squeezing his hand, you give him a nod, “I was just doing what I was taught at UA,” Bakugou quietly stares at you with a frown, “You sure you can’t come back?”
Brushing your hand through his blonde locks, your smile softens at the feel of him, “I’ll ask my parents when they arrive here. Aizawa said he was going to talk to my parents about enrolling me back because it would be safer for me.”
Just as Bakugou was about to close his eyes and relax into your touch, your soft voice asked for him to sit up.
Your hands place themselves on his cheeks before you bring him in for a kiss, heat rising to his cheeks at the sudden affection. “Congratulations on your win today,” you say cheekily before he smirks, bring you in for more.
-
A month passed since the incident and everything was back to normal. Bakugou trudging to class so early in the morning as he plopped himself down in his desk before homeroom announcements would start.
It wasn’t long before Aizawa walked into class, looking as bored and tired as always, causing Bakugou to glance over towards the windows.
“Good morning, class. I have some important news today, so please listen up,” he starts as the class begins to settle down. “First off, I’d like to introduce our new student who will be joining us today. You can come on in,” Aizawa informs as the door slides open.
Bakugou peels his eyes from the windows to glance over at the door, his eyes slightly widening in shock.
“Why don’t you introduce yourself,” Aizawa asks, stepping aside as you take the podium.
“Good morning. My name is (Name) and I’ll be finishing off the school year with you all. Please continue to look after me.”

laser tag (jill roord x arsenal!reader)
Tumblr media
at some point you’re going to have to acknowledge your not so platonic feelings for each other... but in the mean time, what about a game of laser tag?
word count: 1232 ish
——
“y/n!”
your eyes snapped back to leah’s face, the defender sporting an annoyed look as you smiled sheepishly.
“i’m sorry what were you saying?”
leah scoffed in disbelief.
“you’re impossible. i was asking you if you wanted t-”
you tuned her out again.
you weren’t always this distracted, but at the moment you were much, much more interested in watching a certain midfielder across the room.
leah followed your gaze and rolled her eyes.
you two were both equally oblivious.
the pining had started ever since jill transferred to arsenal.
and that had been a year ago.
your teammates were ready to rip their hair out, waiting for someone to make the first move.
not to mention there was a bet circulating, leah having bet on you to make the first move, which seeing your state now may not have been the best idea.
but then again jill was just as oblivious.
one could hope.
leah cleared her throat.
your eyes snapped back.
“i’m sorry what were you sayi-“
“ask her out.”
“what?” you shook your head at the suggestion, your cheeks tinted red with embarrassment.
“i said ask her out.”
“no i- she doesn’t like me like that.”
you were full on blushing now, and from across the room jill’s eyes settled on your face.
you looked across the room again, eyes widening when you see the midfielder’s eyes already on you.
jill looked away quickly, cheeks flushing red after being caught staring.
and even through the heart beat in your hears you thought you heard the collective facepalming of your teammates.
~~
“well i call daan!” you yell, sticking your tongue at leah’s offended expression.
on your off day, the team decided that laser tag would be the best team bonding exercise.
a bunch of over competitive twenty years olds in a dark room. what could go wrong?
the team had set you and viv as captains, and after a totally not rigged game of rock paper scissors, viv had the first pick.
viv had picked jill with no hesitation, and you groaned internally, having wanted to pick jill for your own team.
a few rounds of picking came and went, the teams were now set, and you made your way into the room.
viv’s team was red, yours was blue.
you had come prepared, drafting team tactics the night before. as you recited them to your team, you mind couldn’t help but drift and think about how good jill looked in that hoodie...
leah flicked your ear.
“stop dozing off we need to win.”
you shoved her back lightheartedly, and upon finishing your tactic review, the countdown started.
3.
2.
1.
the timer began for 30 minutes, and chaos ensued.
by the 10th minute, a good half of the red team was out, equaling the number of eliminations for the blue team.
you were waiting, hunched on top of a tall structure, waiting for an unsuspecting enemy to come forth.
time passed and it was the 29th minute now, leaving you and daan, against viv and jordan.
you heard jordan yell in frustration as daan sneaked behind her, and there it was. 2 to 1.
your patience finally paid off when you saw viv run along against the wall, your hiding position giving you a perfect angle to finish the round.
viv scrunched her nose up in confusion when her vest lit up, looking around to see where she had been shot from.
as the buzzer beeped signifying the end of the round, you jumped down from close to the ceiling.
“you’re insane.”
you just shrugged.
“this is survival. one must do what one can to survive.”
viv just rolled her eyes.
the second round was a lot less eventful, as you were the main target that round, the red team winning after just 10 minutes.
here the scoreline stood, blue team 1, red team 1.
this was the last round.
what did the winner get? bragging rights? eternal glory?
honestly we don’t even know.
but you were dead set to win.
giving your team one final pep talk, the countdown began again, but this time, you were ready.
elimination after elimination happened for either side, and the player count for each team dwindled from 11 to 6, and finally to 1.
you were left.
it was showtime.
you didn’t know who was left on the other side, but you were prepared to give it your all.
after a few long minutes of silence, you snuck around, and stood backed up into a corner on the left side of the room.
you craned your head over the wall, but furrowed your eyebrows when you didn’t see the red flash of color from the opposing team.
“looking for me?”
you turned so suddenly that you smacked your arm against the wall and dropped your laser gun.
of course.
it had to be jill.
the dutch girl’s smile was so bright it could almost light up the entire room.
and you.
you were stupidly starstruck.
the girl was just so unfairly attractive.
and then you noticed that jill’s laser gun was still in her hand.
yours was... on the ground somewhere.. where did it go?
you looked down and groaned.
it was too far away.
she had you cornered.
“hey let’s let’s talk about this” you stammered, nervously chuckling as she walked closer.
she just walked forward with a grin.
“this is so unfair i-“
your words died in your throat as she stood in front of you, effectively pinning you against the wall.
“listen jill-“
you scrunched up your brow in confusion when she dropped her arm that held the gun.
“what are you-“
all of a sudden her lips were on yours.
she was kissing you.
she kissed you.
your mind went blank, her hand slipping around your waist and your hands shooting up to tangle themselves in the dutch girl’s hair.
you were faintly aware of the cheering from your teammates watching in the gallery room, but your full attention was on the girl in front of you.
she was kissing you.
after a little bit jill pulled away slowly, your dazed expression making her chuckle.
she whispered against your lips, “i win.”
it was the flashing of your vest seconds after that brought you back to reality.
“that was so unfair” you pout, pushing jill lightly.
“yeah but it worked didn’t it?”
“shut up.”
jill just smiled, and on your way out of the room slipped her fingers between yours.
the two of you were met with cheering as soon as you stepped through the doors, both of you flushing red with embarrassment.
“damn jill’s got game!” daan exclaimed, “didn’t know you had it in you jilly!”
the midfielder rolled her eyes and kissed your cheek before she moved away from you.
your face heated up from the act.
having split back up into teams, you took a seat next to leah across the room.
“not only did you make me lose the game today, you made me lose money too you ball-less idiot” she grumbled.
you scoffed and gave her a shove.
you looked over to the midfielder and having caught your glance from across the room, jill gave you a wink which you couldn’t help but blush at.
leaning over towards your ear leah whispered,“hey at least you’re going to get lai- ow!”
“piss off williamson.”

Note: So lack of motivation is a bitch and I’m surprised that writing and rewriting this fic worked. Hopefully, this stands up to your expectations.
“Breaking news, Adrien Agreste, the former head model of Gabriel Agreste Fashion, was seen walking down the streets of Gotham, New Jersey late last night. Tune in later for more Gotham gossip…” The volume slowly becomes muted leaving the person holding the remote sitting in silence.
Soon a series of noises, such as items hitting the floor, a body struggling to move fills the room ambiance sound. It wasn’t long before a phone’s ring tone goes off. More rustling is heard. The music stops, then there was a pause.
“Yeah, I just watched the news. So, what’s the plan. I already have Barb on speed dial.” A male’s voice states into the phone. This is Richard “Dick” Grayson on the four-way call with his brothers.
“Demon Spawn’s in charge of keeping, Pixie, busy. She cannot know that he’s in town.” Jason states before hearing his younger brother tsking at such an easy request. Of course, he could keep his fiancée busy in the meantime.
“Of course, I can keep my beloved busy, you imbeciles.” Damian scoffs at his brothers. In fact, his beloved was most likely in her studio right now working on a commission.
“Good, good, keep her away from any source of news. We all know how Gotham Gossip works. The rest of you meet me at WE and we’ll figure out a way to get Agreste out of here.” Tim explains to which everyone mumbles their agreements and slowly hang up on one another.
“What was all that about?” Kori asks coming out of the bedroom, rubbing her eyes.
“Oh, you know, the same old same old.” Dick smiles at his wife who raises an eyebrow but shrugs instead and goes into the kitchen.
“Ready for some more gossip Gotham! Former son of the Parisian terrorist was found shopping at Coccinelle de Pixie storefront that was recently vandalized not long after with the words ‘Traitor’ spread painted in black across the window…”
Timothy Drake sat in his executive chair nursing a new cup of steaming coffee. Gotham’s Gossip playing on a radio that he soon turned off and shakes his head. All the more evidence to place Adrien Agreste behind bars just like Paris did his father. For years, everyone thought Adrien was in cahoots with his father in terrorizing Paris, Adrien made no statement and he stayed away from the media.
“Mr. Drake, your brothers are here.” His assistant announces through the coms. Tim quickly replies knowing that his brothers are seconds away from breaking down his office doors.
“You heard the latest gossip?” Jason practically demands. Tim could feel the anger rolling off his predecessors. “Of course, you did, you wouldn’t be listening if you hadn’t. I swear if Gordon doesn’t find the culprit, I will.” Jason slams his fist against the wooden desk, to which Tim simply takes a sip of his coffee and stare directly at his brothers.
Tim would never say it aloud, but he was surprised to see Damian especially after he was given the job of keeping the person that claim as their sister busy for the evening.
“I don’t care what methods you use Todd, as long as the person—” Cough, Agreste, cough, “is behind bars and locked up with the worst of the worst.” Damian gave his brother the answer he needs.
“Back to the issue at hand.” Tim sets his cup down. “Babs sent me Agreste’s itinerary from his hotel location to any phone history. So far, we have gathered he is in contact with someone under the name Buginette, unfortunately, that number is tied to a burner. They are making plans that seem on the verge of making Bean suffer.”
“Great, we have our main suspect and we can’t even call his accomplice,” Jason growls, he hates feeling helpless but that only has so much time before Adrien could make his attempt.
“I wouldn’t say that; Dick you’ll be tailing Agreste, from his GPS location, he should be passing by WE any minute now. Use this and the GG, as we all know she’s in for the latest scoop.” Tim hands Dick a device with a beeping red dot moving. Dick examines the devices before placing them in his pockets.
“We have until eight o’clock tonight to detain him. This Buginette and he plans on meeting at an unknown location. We will intercept them either both or right on.” Tim then takes another sip giving his siblings time to process any information that he just gave.
“Just in, GCPD found a bunch of dead ladybugs in front of the Chordate Hotel, the hotel that Adrien Agreste is rumored to be staying at. Is this retribution to the future Mrs. Wayne as we all know how much she loves ladybugs…?” The broadcaster’s voice carries over the car’s radio.
Damian Wayne could help but tighten his hands around the steering wheel. Someone was after this fiancée and he felt helpless about it. Marinette doesn’t deserve any of this. She has too much to worry about with the wedding and her growing fashion empire.
He pulls up in front of their shared apartment and immediate parks into his parking space.
“Angel, I’m home.” He calls out tossing his keys into the decorative bowl that on the end table next to the front door.
“In the back room.” A female’s voice calls back. Damian smiles practically visualizing the smile on his fiancée’s face.
Walking past a series of boxes, Damian makes it to the back room. Marinette is kneeling next to a mannequin, hand sowing the lace fabric into place. Damian couldn’t help but watch her work in awe. They have known each other for years and even today her working still amazes him.
“Are we still going over to Bruce’s tonight?” Marinette asks looking up briefly to acknowledge her fiancé and give him a smile. Damian was quick to answer her with a yes to which she nods and turns her attention back to the gown. “I should be done in an hour. I also have a couple of stops to make before we head over. Or do you wanna carpool with your brothers while I drive?”
Ding, ding. Damian knows that the messages coming through are from his brothers. “I’ll be fine; getting a ride with Grayson.” He answers before grabbing his phone and unlocking it to view the messages.
“Dami…Dami…” Damian turns away from his phone to stare into the blue eyes of his fiancée. “I thought I lost you there for a minute; you didn’t respond when I had asked whether you’re going out tonight for patrol?”
“Tt, I am going on patrol with the others tonight. Doing a run before and after dinner.” He answers hoping that she doesn’t question it. Marinette narrows her eyes before shrugging and continuing with her sowing.
Quickly getting changes, it wasn’t long before Damian receives a message from Dick stating that he’s out in front. Damian gives Marinette a goodbye kiss and exits out of the apartment.
“Wha’sup Gotham. Tonight’s segment is saucy. With Adrien Agreste out in the public, the batbros are out and about. I swear I just some red outside the studio window. Now onto the sauce—”
“Are you seriously listening to the crap with the mask on?” Robin questions Red Robin, who waves his in his defense. “Should the target get here by now?” He looks over the building to view the streets.
Behind the two vigilantes, Nightwing and Red Hood appear on the rooftop.
“Agreste should be arriving in five according to his GPS location.” Nightwing states and a ringing sound goes through their coms.
“Nightwing is right. Though is it for certain that Mr. Agreste is the person behind the attacks against Miss Marinette?” Agent A’s voice rings through the coms. The four brothers look to one another all being on the same wavelength. They all think that Adrien Agreste is behind the attacks. There was no other reason to explain it. He arrives in Gotham and then there are attacks against Mari through her storefront and favorite animal/insect.
“We’re sure, Agent A,” Tim responds as the device on this wrist beeps. At the same time, a rental car pulls up across the building and parks. Adrien Agreste gets out of the car and straightens out his collar.
“Target is in place. All we’re missing is this Buginette person and we’ll move in.” Red Hood pulls out an AK-47 and position it to lock on Adrien. He wasn’t going to kill the blonde male, maybe just skim a little off the top or scare him shitless.
Down below, Adrien pulls out his phone and calls someone. Immediate the batbros knew that he is talking to this Buginette person, it’s not because Red Robin has the recording playing as well.
About five minutes later, a familiar dark car pulls up. Robin looks at the car in suspicion. This car was the same model that he has and shares with Marinette from time to time. From the corner of his eye, he could see Red Hood etching his finger closer to the trigger.
Adrien runs over to the car shouting “Buginette” happily to the person inside.
The car door opens and immediately they hear a gunshot. The door closes and Adrien jumps back. Red Hood side-eyes his brothers as Robin silently hopes that he is wrong for once.
This “Buginette” person finally gets out of the car to reveal a Marinette Dupain-Cheng, who was no doubly staring in their direction.
“Well shit.” Red Hood groans just as the rest of the family facepalm or are into much of a shock to do anything.
“Hold on for a second, Adrien,” Marinette states holding out her hand as her other hand goes to grab her phone.
On the rooftop, Red Hood’s phone was going off. None of them wanted to answer it. In fact, there were certain that they didn’t want to answer. Instead of taking it like a man, the brother quickly gathers their items and disappear off the roof.
“Do I even want to know, what’s going on, Buggy?”
“No, Kitten, you don’t wanna know.” Marinette huffs and places her phone back in her purse. “I have an hour to hour to kill before I dinner and you and I have a lot to catch up on.” Marinette wraps her hands around Adrien’s shoulder, who smiles sheepishly at the dark-haired woman. “I hear that you and—”
“Mari!” Adrien interrupts blushing a deep red to which Marinette laughs and opens the door to the building.
An hour later, Adrien stands behind Marinette, who was on a warpath knocking against the large doors to Wayne Manor. They could hear furniture moving, people yelping, and a cough. Alfred stands at the with a greeting smile like no other, though Adrien could sense the double meaning.
“Good evening, Alfred, how are you?” Marinette greets with that sickly-sweet smile; Adrien knows all too well. Marinette never the one to keep the deadly appearance apart of her getup but she knows how to use her best aspects for the worst.
“Good evening, Miss Marinette and you is your guest?”
“Oh, silly me, this is my brother in everything but blood, Adrien Dupain-Cheng.” Marinette gestures for Adrien to follow. She places her jacket and purse down and examines the room. Of course, the couch was being used as a blockage.
“Ooh…boys?” Marinette sings walking past the couch, setting each and everyone right side up.
In the dining room, the four men all look to one another scared to utter a single sound. They did not want to deal with Marinette, especially Jason.
“Whose bright idea was it to allow Hood to shoot at Adrien?” Marinette’s voice echoes throughout the manor’s first floor. Bruce, who was sitting at the head of the table raises an eyebrow at his sons. He wasn’t in the bat cave when they returned but they returned as quickly as they left.
Dick mouths “you don’t want to know” to his father figure and begins to sweat bullets. “Whatever happens, tell Kor’i and Mar’i that I love them.” The oldest adopted Wayne states as Marinette makes her way to the archway leading into the room.
“You don’t need to worry about that Dickie.” Marinette smiles, “I’m after Jason.” At the mention of his name, Jason darts out of his seat and through the window. Alfred and Adrien watch the scene play out in two different emotions. Adrien was curious while Alfred was just done with everything.
“I’ll place the order for a new window sir. Is any hungry for dinner?” No one answer to afraid to make them the next target to Marinette’s anger.
“Dinner sounds nice, Alfred.” Marinette smiles sending more chills down the remaining three batbros. “So, everyone, meet Adrien, my brother. Apparently, someone tried to kill him this evening, should I know something about that.”
“I’m more concerned as to why you were using a burner phone to contact Agreste.” Damian murmurs to which Marinette heard him and was immediately behind her fiancé.
Lowering herself to make sure her lips were closer to his ear, she whispers, “Why would it matter, Demon?” She leans back and gestures for Adrien to take a seat. “Adrien here was in hiding from the press and it was my idea from the start.”
Damian chokes on air, the feeling of death forever lingering. He knew there was a reason why he loves Marinette, and this was one of them.
“Is it safe to come in?” Jason’s head pops up only to get greeted by a Batarang. “Got still not safe, you know what I’ll just go eat out.” Everyone turns to Marinette, who was still showcasing her sickly-sweet smile.
“Anyone want to join him?” She asks taking the empty seat next to Damian, who was spatting himself down making sure he had no weapon on his being that she can reach.
“No, we’re all good here, um, Adrien tell us about yourself?” Tim ends the harsh silence quickly and for once he was actually awake.
Adrien smiles and begins to talk about his latest adventure.
Moments later, Alfred returns with dinner solidifying tonight’s adventure.
Much, much later…
Damian and his brothers came out of their stupor of last night’s event. “Wait then who was vandalizing Mari’s store and image?” Tim asks before pressing a cup of coffee to his lips.
Before any of them to grab their devices to hunt down the real culprit, Marinette walks into the living room. “It was an old employee of mine. He only did it because someone—by the name of Lie-la—offer him some big money. He never received it so he came clean.”
Marinette then picks up the keys from the decorative bowl and leaves her place.
The three older brothers turn to their youngest, “You better not divorce her.” They all state at the same time. Damian only nods, agreeing with his brothers for once in his life.

[ Prankster Summer Rose and Team STRQ’s beginnings as told by Qrow.]  - mod lilac
A small excerpt from the Schnee Fried Chicken vs Red Robin AU on the Frosen Steel Server, though this piece can be considered independent.]
And thus Qrow regaled his two nieces with stories about Summer in school.
"Though getting married and taking care of you two made her chill out quite a bit, make no mistake that your mom was a horrible little hellion to the point where Beacon's Headmaster Ozpin once commented that he would rather resign than live through that period of his life again," Qrow laughed as he saw the expectant looks on Ruby and Yang.
"Part of that was because Summer took getting flung off a launch pad at Initiation personally."
---
"What do you mean by landing stra-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"
---
"So Summer made it her personal mission in life to prank him to death," Qrow explained, "So for four years and thirty-two pranks in total, the Headmaster had suffered through having the legs of his chair cut so that he'd dramatically fall in place and give him a scare, his hot chocolate spiked with laxatives which was why he began carrying a thermos, the toilets in his room and nearby areas being loaded with either cherry bombs or colorless jello, a small device at the bottom of his cane that would only beep at random, delayed intervals which made him think he was developing a hearing problem, his bedroom door superglued shut, and various other inconveniences."
His two nieces stared in awe, never having heard this side of their mother.
"She was never really caught but by that time, everyone knew who was responsible, and that's because when Summer pranked everyone else, she didn't have any qualms about letting people know who did it. Hell, I'm pretty sure if the Headmaster had just asked, Summer would admit it to his face. But Oz was the type that never did anything unless he had concrete evidence, and Summer never left anything to find as a matter of professionalism."
"What was Mom like with...the rest of her team?" Yang asked after some hesitation. Qrow looked over at Yang, knowing it was a roundabout way of asking about her birth mother.
"So my team...was your mom and dad and me and my sister, Raven. We were team STRQ, and we were the best of the best," Qrow said confidently before he tilted his up nose snootily with a shifty gaze. "And I was the bestest of all."
"Keep bragging," Yang retorted with a smirk.
Ruby laughed.
Qrow threw his hands up in exasperation. "Okay fine you caught me. Your mom scared me to death." More giggling from his nieces.
"Seriously I think the bravest ones in my team are your dad and my sister for marrying her." The girls didn't bat an eye with the polyamory; after all, they were in a family of Hunters and Huntresses. It was pretty common.
"So your mom ever do that thing where she smiles but it's not cause she's happy but because she's really mad," he gave an exaggerated shiver.
A pair of nods.
"Yeah, your mom did that to me and my sister on the very first day we made teams," Qrow said, "We kinda ganged up on her in a fight to become the leader of the gro--"
"Hey, don't look at me like that," Qrow whined as his audience stared incredulously at him, "I was sixteen and dumb. Besides after I told you about your mom and the Headmaster, do you really think she suffered in silence?"
"...So what'd she do?" Yang asked expectantly with a smirk.
"Well, first of all, the Headmaster made your mom leader in the first place. It's why it was named team STRQ." Qrow explained, "my sister and I didn't agree and so we decided to have a fair free-for-all."
"Aaaand then we double-teamed your mom first." He ignored the again judging stares, "Naturally your mom complained, and I was stupid enough to tell her that everything's fair in war. My sister who shared my brand of stupidity agreed with her. And then your mom smiled and also agreed with me, thus we smugly thought we won. So... what did you think your mom did?"
"She pranked ya to death!" Ruby laughed.
"Yup. Got in one, kiddo!” he ruffled Ruby’s hair, “For two weeks, we had to watch everything we eat, wear, and touch cause we were scared it was rigged with something. And it still wasn't enough. And because I was again young and dumb, I complained, and Summer threw my words back at me, "Everything's fair in war." And then gave me the not-smile, which I began to learn was the scariest thing ever."
"What'd she do though?" Yang smirked and leaned in, clearly gleeful at his suffering.
"Well...." Qrow said with an amused smirk as he counted his fingers , "I was subjected to itching powder in my clothes - my shirt, my socks, and my underwear which was awful, hair dye in my shampoo that turned pink in the sun, a stink bomb detonating when I blindly hit my alarm clock - though I think your mom suffered as much as I did with that one." He laughed, "Her words exactly were, as she was choking in our room, 'Okay. I didn't think this through...' But the one that convinced me to surrender was waking up on my bed in the middle of the fountain. At that point, I at least was smart enough to surrender when I did-"
"But not enough to not go against her in the first place," Yang cajoled.
"Hey, we can't all be as smart as you brats are," Qrow laughed as he ruffled both their heads to varying complaints and smiles.
"But I can at least say I was smarter than my sister who still didn't surrender after that. And that's when I discovered why the Headmaster made her the leader. Cause she's an evil genius - which is probably why she has such smart daughters." He smiled before continuing, "One time my sister got tagged by glitter bombs, and she saw your mom laughing right in front of her. So she started screaming murder and chased after your mom. Now given that it took the two of us to fight your mom, it probably wasn't smart on my sister's part, but seeing your mom run probably gave her a bit of confidence."
"And that's because she wanted to lead her to hell. Your mom rigged a section of the Emerald Forest with traps. I don't know how she got that many smoke or paint bombs, but the Emerald Forest became the Rainbow Forest in the span of a single day. "
"The final straw was when Summer found these small Dust-powered Van de Graaff genera-"
"Van de whaa?" Ruby asked.
"You remember the science museum where there was this big orb with electricity inside it, and when you touched it, it made your hair go up? The one that made Yang looked like a blonde porcupine."
"Hey!"
"Well, Summer bought a bunch of portable Dust-powered ones, and she hid them everywhere. She even replaced our dorm's doorknob with one and painted it over to look like the doorknob. That combined with the week of utter paranoia and lack of sleep she's lived because Summer could finally focus her evil mind on one person, my sister finally raised the white flag," Qrow grinned.
"I'm surprised that you all managed to get along after all that," Yang said after laughing at the mental imagery, "What happened?"
"Well about that..." Qrow said with a somewhat embarrassed air, "My sis and I. You could say we were the bumpkiest of country bumpkins back then. The most we knew about fine cooking was throwing some meat and wild herbs in a pot and calling it a meal. Beacon's cafeteria was, to us at the time, amazing."
"And then?"
"Well, your mom didn't have time to actually cook during those first three weeks cause she was too busy making our lives miserable," Qrow explained, "So after we surrendered, she promised no pranks and offered to make dinner. Admittedly, we were planning to be petty and saying whatever she cooked was bad, but..."
"When your mother brought out the spread from the dorm kitchen - juicy seasoned chicken that practically fell off the bone, soft fluffy bread fresh from the over, braised glistening savory pork, sweet chocolate chip cookies right out of the oven, I think we were too enraptured with the meal to make any complaints. And then we dug in. My sister almost ate herself sick." he laughed before adding with a smug tilt of his head, "I of course was more sophistica-"
"Bull."
The expected retort didn't come from the girls in front of him but from behind him. He turned around to see a smiling Tai who had just gotten in with several takeout bags.
"Dad!" both girls excitedly scrambled to help out with the bags.
"Don't believe your uncle," Tai laughed, "He pigged out most of all. At least Raven could walk back under her own power. We literally had to roll Qrow out of the dorm kitchen that day cause he couldn't even move! And he swore to behave as long as he could eat like this every day."
"Ouch. Couldn't you leave me a little bit of my dignity, Tai?" Qrow faked grumpiness amidst the girls' peals of laughter.
"There's no way you could have dignity left after we had to roll you across one floor and up a flight of stairs," Tai smirked, "Besides I think Summer said it best." He raised the pitch of his voice slightly in imitation while facepalming, "If I'd known I could buy you off with a well-made meal, I wouldn't have spent all that money on pranks."

Devils of Remnant
Chapter 1- Dances with Guns
Sitting at the bar of The Black Bear, a club in downtown Vale, Ruby tapped her fingers on the table to the beat of the music. Red Like Roses was her favourite song and the new remix brought a smile to her face. Hei Xiong, known as “Junior” to his friends, was on bartender duty tonight. Ruby smiled as soon as her drink was served.
Junior: It’s on the house. *two finger salute*
Ruby: Thanks, Junior. *drinks the lemonade*
???: Is that lemonade on the rocks or neat?
Ruby turned her head to find a boy sitting next her. He had golden blonde hair and deep blue eyes. He wore casual clothing; a yellow hoodie with a black shirt underneath, blue jeans and white shoes.
Ruby: *deadpans* Very funny.
???: Okay, that was mean. Sorry. *chuckles*
Ruby: It’s okay. *chuckles back*
???: I’m Jaune. Jaune Arc. Short, sweet and rolls of the tongue.
Ruby: *smiles* I’m Ruby. Ruby Rose.
Jaune: *smiles back* Nice name. So, Ruby, what’s a girl like you doing in a dingy place like this?
Junior: Hey!
Ruby: It’s my last day before I go to Beacon Academy.
Jaune: *raises eyebrow* Beacon Academy? You mean the school for Devil Hunters?
Ruby: Mm-hmm.
Jaune: Huh, small world. I’m a student there myself.
Ruby: *eyes wide* No way!! Really?!
Jaune: You bet! *shows student badge*
Ruby: EEEEE!!!!! Oh my god, this is so cool!!!! I can’t believe I’m actually meeting a Devil Hunter from Beacon!!!!!!
Jaune: *giggles* Guess like someone’s a fangirl.
Ruby: Wha-? S-Shut up! *blushes*
Ruby and Jaune’s chat was cut short by a group of four guys. One had long, blue hair and wore a grey suit, the other wore a green vest with a light green mohawk, the third wore a brown t-shirt and had brown hair and finally there was the burly lad, with ginger hair and wearing a grey shirt that the logo of a golden cardinal bird. Their names were Russel Thrush, Sky Lark, Dove Bronzewing and their leader, Cardin Winchester.
Cardin: Why hello there, hot stuff. *winks at Ruby* How about you and I head over to the dance floor?
Ruby: *ponders* Hmmm, a tempting offer but I think I’ll stick with Jaune over here.
Jaune: *raises his glass*
Cardin: *sneers* Really? This guy? Come on, he’s a total dork. You need a real man, like me.
Ruby: I happen to like dorks, thank you very much.
Cardin: Ugh, quit playing hard to get! *grabs Ruby’s wrist*
Ruby: Agh! Let me go!
Jaune: Hey get off of her!
Sky: *pushes Jaune*
Jaune: Agh!
Russel: What the boss says, goes. *kicks Jaune*
Jaune: *coughs in pain*
Ruby: Leave him alone!
Cardin: Oh we will, as soon as you give me my dance.
Ruby: *grunts* If you don’t let me go, you’re gonna be sorry!
Cardin: *grips tighter*
Ruby: *smirks* Okay... you asked for it.
Using her free hand, she reached behind her waist and pulled out a silver M1911 handgun. Before Cardin react, Ruby shot him in the shoulder. Black blood leaked from the wound. The blood of demons. The sound of gunfire caused the people at the club to panic and they scrambled towards the exit. Cardin’s eyes turned red and his teeth became fangs.
Ruby: If you’re gonna disguise yourself as a human, you gotta be a little more convincing than that.
Cardin: *snarls* You bitch! I’ll you apart!!!
Surrounded by black smoke, Cardin transformed into his true self; a lanky wolf-like demon with black fur, white fangs and a skull-like mask. He lunged towards Ruby and bared his claws. However, he was shot again from another one of her pistols, this one red in colour. He yelped in pain as he hit the floor. Standing above him, Ruby put the guns close to his head.
Ruby: Say cheese! *shoots Cardin*
Cardin’s friends looked on in horror. Their leader was reduced to nothing but a mere plaything right before their eyes. Ruby reloaded her guns and turned to them, giving them a deadly smile.
Ruby: So boys... *cocks guns* you up for Round 2?
The others screamed and ran for dear life. Ruby pouted, upset that her fun was ruined. Jaune stared at her, baffled at what just happened.
Jaune: Woah! That was- uh, what? H-How did you know they were demons?
Ruby: *nervous chuckle* I-It’s kind of a sixth sense I have. I can’t really explain.
Jaune: Either way, that was pretty impressive!
Ruby: Thanks! *scroll beeps* Aw no! I’m late. So, um, I-I’ll see you at Beacon tomorrow?
Jaune: Oh, um, y-yeah. Uh, I’ll see you soon.
Ruby: C-Cool, bye! *runs to the exit*
Jaune: Looks like I didn’t need to hide myself after all.
The injuries Jaune sustained completely healed in a matter of seconds. Meanwhile, watching from the sides, was a Faunus girl, Blake Belladonna. From her pocket, she pulled out a picture of a white, armoured figure carrying a blood red sword. She stared at it intently.
Blake: Ruby Rose.
* * *
Ruby ran through the streets until the reached Schnee Manor, her home. Standing in front of the door was her younger brother, Whitley and he didn’t look happy.
Whitley: Where have you been?
Ruby: U-Um, nowhere? *innocent smile*
Whitley: Don’t try to act like the cute sister to fool me, I know you were out.
Ruby: W-Well so what if I was? There’s nothing wrong with having a bit of fun!
Whitley: We all like to have fun, but you will be starting at Beacon tomorrow. This isn’t your standard school, you’re fighting demons to protect the world! Start taking this seriously!
Ruby: I do take this seriously, Whit.
Whitley: You’re certainly not acting like it. Your reckless actions are going to come back and bite you in the ass one day.
Ruby: *sigh* Fine, whatever. I’m going to bed. *walks inside* .
Whitley: Fine, but don’t expect me to wake you up tomorrow.
Ruby stormed in her bedroom and slammed the door, collapsing herself onto the bed in a huff.
The next morning, she heard a loud knock. Groggy and feeling irritated, she drowsily made her way to the door. She opened it to find Whitley, who had a panicked look on his face.
Ruby: *groaning* I thought you said-
Whitley: *covers Ruby’s mouth* You have to keep quiet. An Alpha Beowolf has tracked your scent right here.
Ruby: *mumbles* Alpha Beowolf?
Whitley: *nods head* Look, I know I said that I wasn’t going to wake you up this morning, but I’d rather not see my sister get torn to shreds. Take this.
He let go of his mouth and handed Ruby a white, single edged sword.
Whitley: It’s not much, but it should help in holding him off.
Ruby: Okay, thanks Whitley. Let me get my guns.
Leaping out from her bedroom window, Ruby landed in front of the Alpha. It smiled sadistically at her, baring it’s razor-sharp fangs.
Ruby: Well hello there, doggy. You wanna play some fetch? *draws guns*
The Alpha roared at her and went in to strike. Ruby dodged with a burst of speed, sending several shots in its back. The demon howled in pain and tried to swipe her with her claws. Immediately, Ruby parried the blow with a quick draw of her sword, pushing its claws back. With an opening in sight, she cut off its arms. The black blood sprayed all over the courtyard and she plunged the sword into its chest. The Alpha shrieked and collapsed to the ground. Ruby approached it and pulled out the sword.
Ruby: Aw man, from the way Whitley described you, I thought you’d be more of a challenge.
Alpha: W-White Thorn.
Ruby: Huh? What’s White Thorn?

This is a Richie tozier imagine
Contains smut
Um it might suck, yeah
Y/N P.O.V.
"F-fuck Richie." I moan out as his fingers curl inside me making my legs tremble as his other hand snakes up my side and wraps around my neck, choking me. I grab at the sheets and arch my back as the euphoric high hits me, a wave of pleasure washing over my body, my eyes rolling back, mouth slightly agape, breathing quick and short.
"Y/N, wake up." I roll over to look at my best friend, Richie Tozier, the true trashmouth. I've loved this boy longer than I can remember,  we've only ever been friends though. I don't think he loves me the same way I love him. Me and Richie have been inseparable from birth.  "Y/N?" His voice snaps me out of my thoughts, and my face turns red realizing the dream I just had right beside him.
"Yes Richie?" I reply, hoping I didn't say anything out loud.
"Are you okay? You were moaning in your sleep." He laughs at my face, embarrassment covering it.
"Fuck you Richie." I say pushing his shoulder as I laugh.
"Apparently you want to." I freeze and he smirks letting out a high pitched, whiny moan. "FuCk RiChIe." He says mocking me and I mentally facepalm. I push his shoulders causing him to fall back on my bed and laughs before sitting up and pushing me back falling between my legs, letting his hands fall to each side of my head. He stares down at me, his eyes darting from my lips to eyes. He leans down and crashes his lips against mine, I sit still, shocked, unable to move, and fucking happy. He pulls back, sitting up and looks down. "Fuck, I'm sorry Y/N. I thought you wanted it and I-" I cut him off smashing my lips back onto his, letting my arms rest on his shoulders as I run my fingers through his hair. We pull apart for air resting our foreheads against eachother.
"I love you Richie, always have." I smile.
"Me to Y/N." He pulls me close by my waist pulling me onto his lap and kisses me, trailing the down jaw and onto my neck leaving behind hickeys. I moan out and he grabs my hips pushing me down and making me grind against him causing my head to fall back and let small moans continue to fall from my mouth. We hear a knock on my door and instantly break apart before I get up fixing my hair to cover the hickeys and open the door, revealing the losers. The gang stifles chuckles and bev points to her collar bone, I look down to mine and notice the bright purple hickey. My face turns red and Richie comes up, grabbing my hand and laughing. "Y'know eddie I have your mom one last night to." He breaks the tension and we laugh.  The losers step out the house and we head to the bunker Ben made for us.
~time skip bc im to lazy to write the walk there~
"You two are cute." Bev laughs at me and Richie, our face turning bright red as I roll over hiding my face in his chest. We are currently laying in the hammock, me between his legs as he reads a comic book, resting his arms on my shoulders.
"Oh, this is cool." Eddie says in midst of his rant on how unsafe this is.
"That was like three dollars, so be careful with that please."
"I have one of these." Eddie says picking up the object, and beginning to play with it, the ball flying towards Stan's face. "Stan you see this?"
"Yeah could you maybe not." Stan says flinching each time the ball flies towards him.
"Could I maybe not what? Maybe not what Stan? Maybe not what? Maybe not be awesome and have fun and CELEBRATE THE MAGIC OF THE PADDLEBALLLLLLL." He yells as he breaks the toy, it falling out his hand. "Oh good job fucknut you broke it." He deadpans looking up at Stan.
"I broke it?"
"Yeah you broke it with your face."
I laugh at his pure crackhead idiocy before getting up and walking over to bev. We start up a conversation before hearing Eddie and Richie begin to argue about the hammock. Stans voice speaks low halfway through a conversation about where we'll be when we're older.
"Do you guys think we'll still be friends?" He questions catching our attention. "When we're older?"
"What, why wouldn't we be?" Ben responds taking the words out my mouth.
"Kay, do any of  your parents still hang out with their friends from middle school?" It makes me wonder, he has a point but our friendship is deeper than that right? After all we are fighting off a giant clown fucking together. We look around the room as he talks faintly in the background "I mean things might be different then." I try to stifle a laugh as I watch Eddie, who has layed in the opposite end of Richie in the hammock, pull off Richies glasses with his feet before smacking his face with his foot. "We all might be different."
"We'll always s-s-still be friends, I-I don't t-think that g-g-goes away just b-b-because we get older." Bill responds.
"Yeah Stan, come on." Bev joins in. "You don't have to be so sad." She continues.
"Guys I hate to break it to you and ruin the sensitive moment but we ran out of snacks." Mike interrupts.
"L-l-lets go get some." Bill stutters out. The rest agree except Richie and I offer to stay with him. The gang leaves and Richie looks at me, smirking as he gets up from the hammock and walks towards me.
~the smut shall begin😌~
He pins his hands on either side of my head, trapping me in. He leans down and kisses me, slowly, agonizingly slow. One of his hands reach to the small of my back pulling me in and I feel something press against me, causing me to moan into the kiss. He takes his opportunity and slides his tongue into my mouth, fighting mine for dominance. He pulls away, pulling my shirt off. He looks at me before grabbing my boobs and massaging them over my bra. I moan and lean my head back, giving him access to lean down and mark my neck with love bites and hickeys. I undo his jeans and push them down slightly just enough for them to fall to his ankles. I look down at the bulge and instantly feel myself get wet. He pulls my shorts and panties down in one swift move before moving me over to the table beside me, he sits me on it and I looks at me. "Y/N, your sure you're ready?" I nod my head and he likes himself up with me, I wince as he pushes in further, tears form in my eyes and begin to fall down my face as small whimpers of pain escape my mouth, he wipes my tears once he's all the way in and sits there giving me time to adjust as he grab onto his shoulders. "Please Richie." I say, he moves at a slow pace and my moans fill the bunker. He quickens soon and I feel a knot in my stomach. "Fuck, I'm close." He looks at me nodding his head and I cum tightening around him, he buries his face in the crook of my neck letting out loud groans as he cums inside me. We stay like this for a few minutes before we hear footsteps above us and scramble to get our clothes on. Everyone comes down and stares at us.
"What?" I question, everyone laughs as Bev points to her neck and looks up at Richie.
"Beep beep Richie." She says laughing at us.
