Boa

Dark. He’s really…Unobservant when it comes to other people, and doesn’t always realize when he says something he shouldn’t have.

He unfortunately was the spark to the kindling of an identity crisis Ash was building in Gecko. Boa didn’t think it was a big deal and thought Gecko was just playing pretend or something. LARPing idk.

He really should’ve realized something was wrong. Nowadays they live together in a big castle with servants that work for Boa. He cares about Gecko a lot, and he tries to help him. Unfortunately, his idea of helping is keeping Gecko in the castle for as long as it takes him to figure out his shit, and being so unconditionally supportive of everything Gecko tries that Gecko is no closer to figuring his shit out.

Boa is absolutely overprotective, but he’s really bad at protecting him. As @nom-de-plume-system put it, he protects Gecko from all the wrong people and too late in protecting him from the right people.

A radiant, with glassy wings and a spear of positivity.

The wings are kind of weird bc there’s rather limited options in Heroforge. But anyways.

He’s got a fair amount of muscle; certainly more than Gecko. He’s not only stronger, but faster; though to be fair, he’s doing a lot of fighting compared to Gecko. He can’t fly with his wings; they’re mostly useless. Both they and his spear are made of radiance.

Fucking asshole. Hate him. One of many villagers that were assholes to Gecko. Thought he was hot shit, but little does he know he sure as hell ain’t.

Gecko really wanted him and his friends to like him, and tried to find a persona that they’d approve of. Unfortunately, Ash & Co really wanted to see how far they could push him with it.

He is Dead now but he’s very important to the Boyes’ backstory.

Queer, with looots of internalized homophobia that he likely took out on Gecko a lot.

My man has some serious identity issues going on. Like, he’s been having an ongoing crisis since he was a teenager. Currently he’s in a Cute Little Shit phase, but he’s gone through several. He’s changed his name several times, but he’s finally settled on ‘Gecko’. he's the favorite of the creators and you can tell

He tends to lean towards nicer personalities, but when his identity crisis was at it’s worst, he tried some asshole-ish ones. He’s decided he does not want to be an asshole. That’s about all he knows for sure though. 

Due to all of these personalities he’s tried out, he’s a very skilled actor, even to the point of being able to, in a sense, conjure up fake emotions. He’s picked up several other skills, as well. Knitting, drawing, a lil bit of dancing, singing, baking. Jack of all trades kind of guy. He can also do 15,000 different accents.

He tends to switch personas when interacting with different people, which is most noticeable when he’s hanging out in a group and seems to sporadically change personalities depending on who he’s talking to.

A Negative spirit, no magic abilities that he knows of.

He doesn’t have much muscle, but he’s not really skinny either. Healthy amount of padding yknow. He’s stronger than he looks. He probably worked out for a while, when he was trying out some personas in the past, but he hasn’t for a while. He can run surprisingly fast in those heels of his.

He/him, mostly gay.

Beechswap (Formerly "Bitchswap") is an AU where characters swap based on either who hates who the most, or what we thought would be an interesting switch. With the exception of Beechswap DINTIS, in which there's only two characters to swap anyway

There's also a few OCs thrown in there. Some originated here. Some originated elsewhere. Then there's JMV Epic, who doesn't officially exist but we're epicross nerds so it was decided that Zircon's spouse should be the JMV version of Epic.

In canon JMV, Zircon's spouse is unnamed. Apatite is *partly* an OC. They're Epic Sans but JMV. So not like, 100% original, but Epic doesn't officially exist in JMV. But we're epicross nerds so

Lazuli doesn't let anyone (except for occasionally Aspen) call him 'Zuli'.

Pine (Lazuli's brother) hasn't really swapped, he's just. there still. as Lazuli's brother. Similarly, Porcini (Hawthorn + Mac's daughter) hasn't really swapped with anyone. Unfortunately, she's still dead.

Three thousand years ago, not too long after (or perhaps even a bit before) me and @nom-de-plume-system released Bitchswap, affectionately nicknamed Beechswap now, we made a matching DINTIS AU. Before the DINTIS version could be released, however, Life Things(TM) happened with them and my disorganized ass was left alone to finish it.

Which is fine except uh. well. it's been quite a while hasn't it HJKGFDHSJKGF

Today I was very indirectly and probably not intentionally reminded that I hadn't ever posted this, so I said 'fuck it it's getting posted now'

Beecshwap Trivia

Senna gets a non-flat faced pug with a spike collar and a black dog sweater in a possible timeline. She names it My Chemical Romance, or MCR for short.

Willow is an artist. Willow is also a one woman spy network so she has to rely on her own brain to remember things. Instead of doing that though she makes herself a code of doodles. Ex: Acorns = The Apples

Lazuli wears Pine’s necklace often, but not all the time.

Everyone is the same height as they are in normal JMV.

Porcini, Willow, and Macadamia do not have canon heights in JMV. Peony is like 10 so Frey didn’t really bother with the height, Peridot just doesn’t have a canon height, and Apatite and Gem aren’t canon and we haven’t given them a height yet

Everyone’s ages are a bit different, though. We haven’t decided what they are exactly juust yet, but generally most everyone is in their 30’s

In some timelines, Aspen and Lazuli are friends with benefits, or even date.

A truly neutral Spirit, who’s soul doesn’t swing Positive or Negative, is called ‘Inert’. Willow is inert, and she can wield both positive and negative magic. She can use some while she’s on her own, but it’s much easier and much more potent if she draws it from positive or negative spirits around her. It would be very easy for her to become a positive or negative spirit, but she’s happy the way she is. 

Inerts like Willow can track people using their emotions like a scent trail.

Willow is Aspen and Oleander’s mom

Willow thought they were like her in that they fell asleep next to a datemate and then woke up and realized they were A Tree

Oleander’s corrupt abilities allow him to breathe underwater! The deeper he goes in the water, though, the less human he looks. A pool isn’t going to show this change much, beyond maybe slightly more prominent gills, but in the ocean? The deep black depths of the ocean? Oh he gets fuckin weird. He’d think it’s really really cool though

Maggie used to be a hairdresser. Willow used to have long hair. Maggie gave Willow a haircut when she decided she was sick of brushing all of it. Before then it went past her shoulder blades to her lower back.

Mac and Hawthorn have no clue if Porcini is adopted or their biological child. Genuinely they do not know.

Gecko’s gonna smooch ollie. If they meet. Which they probably will at some point bc DINTIS and JMV are inexplicably linked in moon’s mind which means so are the bitchswap iterations. And Gecko and Oleander would be SO so soft but also there is so much angst potential. hurt/comfort hugs and smooches and hand holding and oleander hisses at lazuli if he gets too close to gecko. No more friend stealing >:// In lazuli’s defense. He at no point intended to steal any of ollie’s friends. Doesn’t stop oleander from being hurt tho gfsgfdsg poor man

Boa may also smoomch Aspen and Lazuli,,,,unfortunately until Boa can get more fleshed out its just tentative han hol. Gecko and Oleander, however,,,

Beechswap DINTIS: most of the rest of that doc because I never really sorted it

Gecko has switched between almost every sexuality label you can think of, and Ash would either be actively shitty about it or just casually call him slurs. Gecko’s also experimented with Gender and pronouns a lot.

Boa didn’t destroy the village, and neither did Gecko. As much as Ash may deserve to get stabbed he died of perfectly natural causes.

Gecko hasn’t had an honest conversation with Boa since The Incident. Boa didn’t realize anything was wrong until after they met again Post Incident and after going their separate ways and becoming housemates, and he still doesn’t realize he’s done a fucky wucky to Gecko. And Gecko is aware of this. As much as he cares about Boa, Boa hurt him, and he doesn’t want to risk that happening again. And Boa not realizing that he hurt Gecko is even more dangerous, because there’s no way to know if/when it’ll happen again.

However, Boa’s trying to help. He’s trying to be supportive of Gecko figuring out who he is, and does his best to keep up with new names and stuff that Gecko’s trying out. But his help is an awful lot like being a brick wall. Gecko is getting nowhere with his crisis. At least it helped with names and pronouns tho

Most often, similar personalities tend to get along, and Gecko knows this. Gecko is still…trying to make friends. So, most often, when he’s talking to someone he imitates their personality. He’s also figured out what kind of personalities do not get along most of the time. Gecko will change himself so you can care about him.

Regarding them hanging out with the JMV side…

Boa does not like Ollie. He heard about Ollie from Lazuli, who is, of course, Ollie’s #1 hater. He heard that Ollie was a thief, and just generally kind of a bitch. Boa doesn’t want Gecko to pick any of that up from Ollie. He’s not too happy when he finds out Gecko’s been sneaking into the basement to talk to him anyway.

Boa also heard from Lazuli what a “wonderful” friend Senna is. He’s even less thrilled when he finds Gecko hanging out with Senna.

For once, Gecko doesn’t really understand what Boa’s issue is. Senna and Ollie are cool. Lazuli’s an asshole though. Aspen seems chill, and Ollie seems only mildly annoyed with him even if Senna doesn’t like him. But Gecko’s wondering why Aspen hasn’t tried to get Ollie out of that cell yet. He hasn’t heard anything for certain, but he suspects Aspen hasn’t gone to visit Ollie often. Maybe not at all.

Anyways. Boa asked Lazuli and Aspen if they’d help him keep Gecko away from…bad influences. Aspen protests to Oleander being a bad influence, but otherwise agrees.

Hiii I’m sorry for bothering , I was wondering about bitchswap. So Lazuli has no special ability and Oleander is secretly a mermaid but what is Boe’s special ability and what would Gecko ‘s be if he had one ?

Listen it’s hard to be a bother just by sending asks, but it’s next to impossible when you’re asking about AUs that I made or helped make. I am grabbing your hands and bouncing up and down with excitement

But, unfortunately, Boa and Gecko are still super underdeveloped so I don’t have an official answer.

I think it’d be cool if Gecko could magically disguise himself though. Not fully into someone else, but changing his outfit completely, up to and including make up and hairstyle

I’m just imaging Usagi’s magic pen thing from really early on in Sailor Moon. I think she only used it once to transform into something other than Sailor Moon.

Boa’s ability I’m less sure on, because he’s even more underdeveloped than Gecko. His personality is so Blank that I genuinely can’t even come up with a ‘maybe’ answer.

ok so i've gone through and changed all "Bitchswap" id tags to "Beechswap"

Any instances of 'bitchswap' included in a post or in a tag ramble haven't been touched because there wasn't much point HJKGFDHSJGK

but anyway. With everyone but like two people being named after a tree, 'Beechswap' was too funny a pun to pass up. once i got my brain to stop screaming about the name change. which took a really, really, really long time but we're good now

also this whole thing is going to include a repost of Beechswap DINTIS with Gecko and Boa! even though they still haven't gotten more development

and boa really needs it. christ.

Ages and ages ago I decided I wanted to pull Bitchswap/Beechswap JMV out again and just kinda cut it into pieces like how I did for Sunfall and Horror!Dreamswap. Not getting rid of anything, just making multiple smaller posts that focus on specific things. Basically reposting the whole thing in a slightly different form

and I have one (1) draft that’s been sitting there the entire time

But I realized yesterday or the day before that. Um. It’s gonna be two years old in a few months. So I figured I might as well say something out loud here (possibly for the second time? Idk I’m having Deja Vu) and see if that will pressure me into doing it JSDJXHDH

If I remember right the big doc was originally posted around Christmas, so I’m going to aim to start posting stuff around there.
