Giving arrested development s5 my first real watch through while in the right headspace and feeling a lot of emotions

How likely that Milkshake is going to break up in the first or second episode like literally after the monologue took place? I'm thinking about it and I honestly don't know how it's gonna play out. The Duffers really left everything so open and it's just frustrating tbh. Like literally nothing is resolved except maybe Jopper? And I heard Jopper wasn't even supposed to go canon this season and the Duffer originally wanted to wait until S5 (someone can confirm this maybe).

Supernatural plot is literally unresolved, the characters have lost. We don't know what's going on with Vecna. The relationship dynamics and issues between the characters are unresolved. We have no real scene between Mike and El after the ''grand confession''. We have no resolution on Will/Mike/El love triangle. Even Nancy/Jonathan thing is weird with the addition of Steve. Robin and Vickie seem to have been set up but there was no actual follow-up or romantic confirmation truly. We don't know what's gonna happen with Max. I was genuinely confused that we didn't even get a scene where the characters read Max's letters? What was that even about? We never got to see characters' reactions to Eddie's death aside from Dustin. What was up with Nancy's visions, and why didn't she mention them to Mike? Like what? She literally saw her family die in her vision but she never even talks to Mike about it? I could go on but it's getting too long.

The real question is, will they be able to solve and tie all these plot points in just 8 episodes or something? I get that some plot points had to remain unresolved but this is too much, in my honest opinion. I'm not sure if they will manage to sort things out with the supernatural plotline, while managing to fix the relationship issues of the characters and adjust their dynamics. I'm especially worried about Mike, Will and El dynamic tbh.

Trust me, I'm just as disoriented and confused as you are about how they're going to do all this and I really still feel like they did go too big this season and tried to do too much to the point where they eventually got lost on half of their story. They could prove me wrong next season, but.. as they say, bigger is not always better, and they really should have gone for quality over quantity. The fact that so many things were left open and characters were dearc-ed is what left me the most frustrated with Vol 2, honestly. Some questions might have been answered, but those were few compared to everything else you just named. I don't know. I definitely understand your concerns, anon. I had no idea about them originally wanting to push J*pper back to season 5 either. But if that's true.. Jesus, just imagine, with everything else they have to cram in.

I'm less worried about the El/Mike/Will love triangle though, probably just because they treat El with the most importance so anything happening with her dynamics will likely get the most attention, and the Duffers said that who ends up with who in regards to the love triangles won't be left up for debate, so I'm confident on that. Will is also confirmed to be a main focus next season as well, so his dynamic with Mike will surely be touched on, too. Mike and El are going to have to inevitably talk about that monologue at some point, and Will's lie about the painting has to be addressed too, which is how I see things ending for them as a couple, but how exactly they'll go about it, like everything else, is still up in the air. The rest.. I don't know. Eight episodes is a good amount of time, but they'll probably have to make it at least close to the same length as season 4 in episode runtime if they want to make sure every storyline is completed and nothing is left hanging. And they really need to involve every other writer in this process as well so they don't forget anything. Eh.. I hope for the best.

Due to the confusing titles we have ended up between friends to retitle them and this one is ‘The Gambler’ episode. The reason behind the name is because the case is taking place mainly in a high profile gambling establishment but also sets forward a very interesting concept for S5. 

Everything is a gamble and you need to be aware of what you are about to throw on the table. In my belief, the cards at our leads hands are misleading and sometimes some of them do not know what the power of the cards they hold. Pity that it’s not a card game though but a through of the dice with many unknown sides to the players. No God does not play dices with the universe as Neil Gaiman explains in Good Omens but how much of what is going on can be blamed on him? Not much in my humble opinion.

As you already know after all these years BTS is not easy on the contrary they are confusing and frustrating to no end… So stay cautious and try to have fun rather than search for definite answers. These answers may come only when the season P1 drops and if I managed to spot something correctly we were fortunate.

The first episode as Ellis said will clarify why Lucifer returned to Earth but unfortunately, we can only speculate as the bts do not give us a definite answer but we know one thing, do not expect Lucifer and Chloe to meet too soon in 5x01. For the most part, it seems like Lucifer tries to avoid her and for a very good reason. As Henderson said you cannot expect to lock an alcoholic to a liquor store for 20 years and do not have a regression.

The beginning of the episode will most probably take us to… Hell. The reason for that speculation is Ellis’ birthday cake. Yes, Ellis is an executive producer and usually, by now 5x01 should have wrapped as an episode its post-production so we assume that that scene takes place in the first 5-10 minutes of the first episode of S1.

If the scene of that cake is not one of the S5 first scenes then probably is a cut scene from Chloe wondering how Lucifer is doing and the answer is well… he is delusional. According to Boris’s speculation we might get a similar scene like the beginning of S4 but this time it’s Chloe who works and the files pile up as well as the boxes around her office... Some bts suggest that might be actually happening but we simply cannot be sure. 

We might also spot Gaudium on that cake but I would assume he appears like that because the delusion has not yet dropped so his real form might be a wonderful CGI. Henderson always wanted him somehow in the show so that would be the perfect time to do so…

So what has caused Lucifer wanting to get to earth? Again we do not know but it might be somehow related to the case Chloe will be working on. Of course, that relationship might not be obvious but more like the case of 5x04 where Lucifer’s connection to the case Chloe was trying to solve was purely accidental due to Eve.

Now the writers did tease that Lucifer will see a familiar face in Hell and many have speculated over that. When I heard it for the first time I thought it was Dan and I still hold that opinion mainly because Dan’s arc is more or less similar to the one of Charlotte. If a character is going to die in S5 I do expect it to be Dan even if it is for a little while, something that will lead to bigger problems later on and perhaps it will be the reason on why he needs the matching bracelet he wears with Lucifer and which appears in 5x03.

If that face is not Dan then who else could it be? Father Frank? In Hell, you may ask? Well, he felt immense guilt over accidentally killing his family and the boy’s family at that car crash so that��s where I place my next bet. In any case that familiar face is probably who shakes up things and causes Lucifer to seek something on Earth. 

My calculations on how long Lucifer is in Hell give out a 6 month period which has been confirmed and my speculation was based on that due to the babies that play Charlie :D. So what has changed 6 months later on Earth?

As we know from Lauren German fools everyone into believing she is doing well and she is supported by Maze and why not Ella. In 5x01 there is a bts which shows Chloe at a LUX party with Maze but Maze is dressed in leather and Chloe in work clothes. In the time of Lucifer’s absence, it was hinted by DB that Amenadiel has taken over LUX but fear not as LUX is the same place it always was and Amenadiel tries to imitate Lucifer’s dressing code and kind of entertainment in the establishment. At the same time if you notice the fridge at Linda’s apartment it has some photos with Amenadiel, Linda and Charlie so the domestic life is going well on that front as well for him.

^If it’s Amenadiel it fits with the rehearsal if not then Lucifer and Chloe reunite earlier but I believe it’s Amenadiel. 

Moving on as you know each episode has a case! Episode 5x01 features many different locations but I’ll start from Maze’s clothes at LUX. We do not know if the LUX scene is early in the episode and I would assume it is not. Maze’s clothes at LUX are seen in two locations LUX and at a boat where she is accompanied by Ella yet that’s not the murder scene.

^That’s the main pattern I saw at LUX day of the extras wearing.

^Just a speculation but does LInda visit LUX? No idea. 

After LUX day which lasted for over 13 hours I believe it lasted in total for about 15-16h... So it’s  big scene.

Ella’s shirt is also one of the reasons why I believe that’s at the beginning of the episode as later on, she wears a yellow and then a blue shirt during the episode. 

The murder scene takes place at a downtown Penthouse - not Lucifer’s - which acts as an illegal gambling establishment for rich players. If you have watched the movie Molly’s Game you will get what I mean. So let’s assume that murder happens there, the LAPD investigates the scene but afterwards, when Chloe is at the precinct she turns to Maze for some reason or Maze drags her to LUX. 

Note that Lucifer looks angry perhaps even dejected according to the available bts

^No Green screen so do not expect something supernatural to happen just Lucifer infuriated giving a verbal point of how pointless everything is I presume. 

Now call me a weird but there is a possibility of Ella being at the playing table BEFORE the murder case... or perhaps who could be the last person to see in Hell? Ella even for a fraction of a second? No idea again just a wild speculation...But I do not think that’s it... not entirely at least.. Aimee was well dressed at the following photo there... In my other speculation, Lucifer tries to get people to help him without involving Chloe at all.. Yet note that the dates they were posted on social media were different so we cannot be sure

Now if Ella does help with the case is it too farfetched to hope that she will spill the beans about Candy to Chloe in 5x01? Dad I HOPE SO!. 

Afterwards, we see that Maze and Ella track down a rich guy on a boat. Maze is wearing the same clothes she did at LUX and I would speculate that the yacht belongs to Lee (The yacht is called the Lightbringer and is a known in L.A. yacht to rent for events etc.) with all the money he got OTHERWISE it was Lee who got killed and is the familiar face in hell and a close relative (his son?) took his fortune. You see a young black guy was hired as a guest so it is possible to assume that. There was a script page as well a blurry one but we do not know if the name was Les or Lee.. Here is the thing though... There was also a guy who looked like Jeremiah aka Lee in DTLA but I do not know if it was during the murder -if it happens there which if it does then fitting! or if he was there for his usual encounter with Lucifer...- 

Now about that yacht...

Now at that yacht we have Maze kicking some not so pretty behinds and we do not know how it goes from there unfortunately but I would assume that Lucifer and Maze are reunited early on that episode perhaps around the first quarter or so.

While everything happens Lucifer visits the DTLA Penthouse - Gambling establishment and he seems pissed possibly because his money was the reason Lee was murdered if we support that theory?

From there we also have a location that was shot at the WB ranch, the place where FRIENDS shot their intro scene at the fountain and which was sold by WB yet they can still use it for the time being.

At that ranch, there is a small town set which has some middle-class houses. In one of those houses, there was a baby shower for a baby girl I suppose and is where Lucifer seeks more answers. I do not know if someone bleeds or something but they had to wash the street afterwards. The scene happens at night and Lucifer again is NOT pleased. Along with Lucifer I believe that there was also Maze and I do not know if Maze was also there in the morning shots that follow with Chloe but she had her stunt with her and her presence at the stages suggest that she may have been at the precinct as well with those clothes but that’s a speculation.

Now do be careful as Chloe's visit in the morning might be before Lucifer’s one at night we just do not know exactly at the moment.

^I believe that’s in that house at night. 

^Maze Lucifer and the Guy?

According to the guest's clothes I suspect that Chloe gets there in the morning and then Lucifer at night as he wears the exact same ones...

At this point my belief is that perhaps Maze helps Chloe, then Lucifer gets involved without Chloe realising he is there or perhaps that’s the point she sees him and Maze along with Lucifer get into a fight. The suspect might have run or perhaps Lucifer and Maze protected Chloe unfortunately we cannot know what exactly is going on. 

A third speculation at the same timeframe is that Maze is reunited with Lucifer at the penthouse and they start working together from that point. The follow Chloe perhaps even save her from the suspect as he runs and then both return at night to confront him. 

Now there is also a morning shooting scene there or perhaps even two as we do know that Chloe as a Detective goes to ask the guy some questions while Lucifer has some action scenes at that point.

Ellis’ and Lesley-Ann’s stunts were there and took care of the scene which needed to be delivered yet, in my opinion, there was no meet up there. I do not know if Chloe managed to take a glimpse of Lucifer or not but I assume that at that point she knows Lucifer is back but he still avoids her to spare her the pain as he probably believes he will have to go back to Hell once his quest finishes.

Fast forward we go to the last part of the episode which takes place at the DTLA Penthouse at night where Chloe appears to be on a sting operation, pretending to be a player and I would also assume that Ella is at the van guiding her through that. At the same time though we have Lucifer and Maze trying to do their own thing and Dan somewhere in the middle.

We know that it’s the final scene as there are police cars at the scene and my speculation is this.

Chloe is at the sting operation, Ella helps and Dan is also involved close by at a car. Lucifer and Maze try to gain entrance and we have a Green screen used and some wires as they were shooting two different scenes and one of them had Ellis suspended I believe from the wires. No idea if he was trying that the human way or Lucifer had enough and flew up there yet at some point the suspect break free and goes to the street.

The last part of the episode is divided in two parts. The sting operation and the second painful part

^ The building on the right with the helicopter landing space is the where the penthouse is located and the middle of the street in front of Hope park is where the conclusion of the episode was shot with some other additional scenes. 

Two scenes were shot for the first time. One of them was Lucifer? lying, being levitated, using human means to climb to the penthouse? Who knows but there was a green screen behind him. Perhaps he was in the penthouse and was pushed or trying to avoid Chloe he opted to fall off? No idea. 

Now at the same location, we have Ella with a messy ban like she was really into the game she might have been instructed to Chloe to play at the penthouse.

Maze’s outfit makes me wonder if Maze decided to also go undercover to help Lucifer or even Chloe we will know once it drops I’m afraid. Yet it looks like she is along with the girls at the end of the episode.

At the end, I think that the guy who Lesley-Ann was hugging was the culprit and the one who starts a chain of events. 

I do believe that Dan who might be in the car waiting for the sting to end up trapped with the culprit in the car and to be eventually be throwed outside the window. 

Of course, that is one interpretation as there is also the following bts Lucifer in front of the car and then the car seems to have turned so either Lucifer is the cause for the guy’s, perhaps Dan’s injury or the reason why he is paradoxically saved. Perhaps both. You can see teh green screen be used which may suggest a car chase or something which Lucifer puts into a halt. The second car I believe is Chloe’s.

But someone in white seems to protect someone so we do not know what is going on. If Lucifer protects Chloe, if some power comes forward and saves Dan.

My opinion? Chloe indeed needs help and Lucifer comes forward in a scene that reminds me a bit of Lois and Superman in Superman Returns meaning that it might be him saving her that exposes his return from Hell to her. 

Chloe, Ella - see the bun behind Chloe, and Maze in front of a dead body bag coroner bed. 

Also Chloe appears to be in front of the guy who gets injured... Again we assume this is the end of the episode... But someone eventually DOES die as we know from the body bag and again I would assume that it is Dan. Do not ask me why I insist on that so much but I have this gut feeling he will have a short experience with Hell which will allow him to seek a second chance like Charlotte for when Death reclaims him once more. 

Now if Dan does die for a while and Lucifer has a hand in his revival it would also explain why in 5x03 or even at the end of 5x02 we have Dan and Lucifer wearing the same amethyst bracelet... Also why Lucifer cannot really leave again for the time being... 

Additional info

We do know there is a woman guest with lines on the boat and the DTLA penthouse so I would keep an eye on her for the case.

Aimee Garcia was showing off Ella’s pens for the season and I have to admit that the screwdriver caught my interest for an obvious reason…

So has Amenadiel visited Lucifer at Hell? According to D.B.’s interview where he said that the character is currently busy so he has not, consider that Lucifer changing to a full Devil body in front of him may have not been the best memory he has of his baby brother. So in a way, Amenadiel might be deep down calm that the pieces have fallen into their place. He is of course sorely mistaken…

I didn’t join the fandom until post s5 so I’m just wondering how bad was the fan reaction over “the end” and why were people so pissed??

Hi Anon,

Oh man I can count on one hand how many times my ask box absolutely imploded and this was one of them. My phone pretty much exploded during the east coast airing and I had it spoiled.

Here is why I think the reaction was so bad after. And honesty a lot of this is drawing from personal experience.

The biggest is that they were willing to leave it like that and in their words it was a “satisfying end”. Coulson, Philinda, Fitz, and Fitzsimmons fans for the most part felt anything but satisfied as the Zephyr took off. I personally felt betrayed and like I’d been slapped in the face. And that feeling was made so much worse when we knew how close we came to it really being the end. They filmed that episode thinking it was it.

The show runners saying it was satisfying lured me into a false sense of security so as things unfolded it was just worse. Two fan favorite characters dead/dying and two of the main ships losing one half of it. Not having confirmation of Fitz was ever found, what happened to Deke, and a pretty bleak ending all around.

Now looking back and knowing they had started setting up Season 6 then I’m okay with it. Seriously all the pain was worth it for inescapable for me. Had I gone in seeing The End as a season and not possible series finale I would have still be shocked/upset but not write a small novel to ABC and their feedback department upset. More Season 2 the rock just ate Jemma and I need to scream on Tumblr upset.

It really was just too much for some fans. Many were still struggling from Season 4. the Framework arc was rough on me as a Fitz and Fitzsimmons fan and I know I’m not alone. Season 5 reopened those wounds. Add in the deaths or the fact we were going into another Fitzsimmons separation and our longest hiatus ever. The writers crossed that line between fun and frustrating...similarly to how they did with Framework (I have a love hate relationship with that arc). Some fans were tired of being “toyed” with tired of getting a good thing and having to pay for it in a major plot twist shortly after.

Another struggle I noticed with The End was the post episode interviews with the show runners. They clearly had no clue and some fans felt they didn’t care how much it would upset fans. And their responses reflected that. That didn’t sit right to some.

On a personal note I had been very big on “they’d never kill Fitz”, answered tons of asks trying to ease fears, and then they did and I looked like a total idiot for putting my faith in the writers and what they meant by satisfying.

Coulsons end was what they had in mind all along per interviews. They always planned to end with him going to Tahiti and dying there. His death wasn’t a shock to me but I felt bad for philinda fans who had waited so long only to get a few eps of proper canon. I mourned losing Coulson as well. Fitz however was because “they could”. That it was planned from the second they realized the Loop Hole when they mapped out the Season and lead to other ask box shattering events like Devils Complex. The one plus side is iain killed all of those twists and got to do the death scene the writers always wanted him to get a chance at.

Thanks to hindsight had things been marketed just a little differently and had they known about season 6 sooner then the season 5 finale would have ended a lot differently and not been as ask box breaking. I strongly feel they would have found a last minute stop gap to save Coulson until they knew for sure it was then end to play the Tahiti card. And I do think Fitz would have still died but simply knowing for sure it was setting up 6 vs it was how they would have ended it would have gone a long way in making me feel better. I also think there would have been a little more set up in making it clear they were going to search for him.

The writers have a second chance at a finale now and we are hearing more “bittersweet” and a reflection of our journey as a show family talk this time, which I’m much more comfortable hearing.

Daddy Issues

Author’s Note: This was, to my utter embarrassment, inspired by a line from what I believe was the second episode of TO S5. Something along the lines of “there are certain damages that only a father can do”, which I find completely nonsense. Many moons later that disdain along with @garglyswoof‘s kind prompting finally pushed me to write this down. Set sometime in the future where KC are in an established relationship; probably a few decades after TVD 4x23 and anything Canon after that is not acknowledged here. It started off like a ton of lemons (I love this obsolete term that I recently just learned) but is actually so filled with fluff it’s more like lemon meringue. My teeth hurt in the end.

When Caroline was young she was terrified of flying. Granted she didn’t flew that much to start with – just a couple of times to visit her dad and that one single time when her mom took her to see her aunt in Florida.

Each and every one of those times she was scared out of her mind. Her imaginations ran the wildest when they were backed up by data, and she had always been a thorough researcher. She’d clamp her little hands so hard on the armrests to crush the images of falling and explosion in her head as the giant plane sped up, hard steel digging into her back like some unnameable dark force with an evil mind of its own.

And then she’d be hovering midair. Her heart floating in her already floating body, all trapped up in a floating still iron box.

Caroline thought she’d loathe that feeling all her life and avoid it at all cost.

Little did she know how drastically feelings changed over time, especially when you hold a few decades, or even centuries of it in your palm to squander about.

Then flying became soaring. Floating, freeing. Looking down on the ground from miles above felt like a metaphor for the immortality of which she was still just beginning to get a grasp.

And that was probably why Caroline found herself fantasizing about what she used to fear the most when Klaus’ controlled warm breaths scorched her inner thighs. He was taking his sweet time tonight, lips hovering near her soaked core, the tip of his tongue ghosting her sensitive skin now and then, but never fully landing. A frustrated half-sigh-half-moan slipped out of her throat and he merely hummed, the sound buzzing through her suddenly arched spine like the engines of a plane, lulling, but exhilarating all the same.

“Easy, there.” His thumb gently rubbed under her knee while a light kiss grazed her abdomen, “we haven’t even started yet.”

And how she yearned for that. Speeding. Gaining traction. Pulling up and up and up until she was blinded by the sun blasting over the hazy clouds.

His low chuckle traveled along her midsection to the valley between her breasts, and he licked her there as if tasting her wandering thoughts, “what lovely images are you conjuring up this time, sweetheart?”

She knew what he was asking about. After decades of roaming the earth it was no news to Caroline that people saw or heard the strangest things during sex. But surprisingly she had quite the artistic mind when it came to sex with Klaus (sometimes she suspected she was channeling him but she would never feed that to his egotistical ass). The first time he coaxed the imaginative painting of undulating hills swirling with colors out of her, he stared at her with such awe and fervor in his eyes like she’d just single-handedly invented the freaking impressionism. Ever since then he became quite obsessed with her little “sex visions”, and it was not like Caroline didn’t enjoy it.

But not now. He was wordy when he got artistic, and wordy meant slow.

So she dragged him up by his dangling necklaces, stealing a bruising kiss for her own before replying, “I’m not telling you if you keep this game up.”

“What game?” He feigned innocence, like those fingers so skillfully fiddling with her nipples weren’t even his.

She couldn’t quite swallow her gasps, her eyes half-closed from the charges spreading from her chest, but not enough to shut out the smug grin on his face.

Well if this was the road he wanted to go down, then she might as well spice things up a bit more.

Silently she began to nibble at the side of his neck, Klaus’ head immediately falling back exposing his throat where tiny sounds of satisfaction were rumbling. To this day it amazed Caroline a little when he acted this open around her, and she felt herself growing wetter at the thought.

Sucking on his pulse point, she reached over to the glass jar on their nightstand and sank her hand into the sea of notes inside.

The jar was Caroline’s two-year anniversary gift to Klaus, filled with both of their fantasies and dirty thoughts. Klaus was, of course, most obliged to try it out as often as possible, but now over one year later they’d still not run out of ideas – not completely unbelievable considering they’d both been caught on more than one occasion sneaking new notes into the “kink jar”, as dubbed by one very disturbed and disgusted Rebekah Mikaelson.

Caroline laughed inwardly at Rebekah’s scrunched-up face as she fished around the little pieces of paper. But before she could draw one out, her hand was enclosed in his, the heat of his palm almost burning her.

She looked up into Klaus’ teasing eyes, “I’m feeling adventurous tonight.”

“When are you not?” He was idly rubbing circles on the back of her hand through the thin notes, and she almost moaned out at the feeling of the rough edges of paper scraping against her skin. When did the back of her hand become an erogenous zone anyway? Damn it, focus.

She raised an eyebrow challengingly, “can’t keep up?”

His grin grew wider at that, “I’m not complaining.”

Snatching a piece of note from between her fingers, Klaus withdrew his hand and lay back against the headboard, his other arm instinctively circling around Caroline as she snuggled close to take a peek. She was startled by Klaus’ sudden growl of anger, and she hurried to grab the note before he crushed it in his iron grip.

Apprehension clouded her mind as she read the now slightly smudged words: Call Me Daddy.

That definitely hit a sore subject if there ever was one. And judging by Klaus’ murderous expression she doubted he threw that one in just to test his own limits. So that left…

“Kol.” Klaus bit through his clenched teeth, confirming her suspicion.

“But how…?”

Their bedroom was spelled so that only the two of them could enter, and anyone who dared to break the barrier would leave marks wherever they touched inside the room. Not to mention that with Klaus’ hybrid senses, he could probably detect any past intruders from a mile away. To wipe all the traces Kol would have to have some assistance in the form of witchcraft, but Caroline still vividly remembered the disastrous fight Klaus had with him just days ago about Kol “childishly antagonizing all the covens in the city”.

“Kol has always had a way with witches,” Klaus huffed, “if he’s not acting like a raging imbecile.”

“So you’re telling me that he somehow made up with the witches, which I believe was what you expected in the first place, and he got them to help him get inside our bedroom to mess with our sex life, just so he could get back at you because you yelled at him for making an enemy of the witches that ended up helping him?” Caroline rolled her eyes, “I know I’ve said this a million times but you all are a twisted bunch.”

Klaus’ lips lifted smugly, “he’s my brother after all.” In the blink of an eye the smirk turned into a scowl, “but if he thought he could get away with this he was sorely mistaken. I do not care if he’s restored some sort of rapport with the witches. This crossed a line.”

“It can’t really be that bad.” She sighed, sitting up straight, nudging Klaus’ head to settle on her chest before he could protest. She could feel the little puff of air he let out warm on her skin, his long dark blonde eyelashes casting shadows on those high cheekbones that felt way too petulant for a thousand year old monster.

“I will be the judge of that.”

The moonlight was shining favorably on all his good features, and from Caroline’s vantage point he almost looked like one of those ancient statues she saw during their never ending world tours, the perfect human specimen perpetuated by hands that were long dead. But those masterpieces of marble were truly strong, ageless, fearless.

He wasn’t.

He was a thousand years of weaknesses and struggles, sleepless nights and blood-soaked frenzies sedimented into one.

And he was resting so petulantly, yet so contently on her very chest.

Without lifting his eyes Klaus seemed to have sensed the little smile tugging at the corner of her lips, “what? No name-calling? Not a word of ‘get over it?’” His arm idly went around her waist, bringing their bodies even closer, “that’s a first.”

She didn’t answer him for a while, just silently playing with the soft curls on his nape. And for once Klaus didn’t rush her, his artistic fingers drawing sketch after sketch on her side. Neither of them was particularly good at the patience thing, but somehow they found the rhythm as the years passed, finding each other more fascinating than the heavy stress of silence.

“I was just thinking…none of us seemed to have won the lottery in the father department. I mean, mine left when I was ten; Bonnie’s father was practically absentee when we were growing up, and from what I heard the Salvatores nearly got killed by theirs. Elena’s father was probably the only nice one, but it turned out he was a heartless psycho who tortured vampires for science.” She couldn’t help a small shudder when she mentioned that piece of information, and Klaus’ arm instantly tightened around her.

“Among the lot of us, we could run an awards for the shittiest dad.” She continued with a light shake of her head, “on a scale of one to ten your dad can get, like a nine or something.”

This time Klaus looked up at her, his face more incredulous than angered, which Caroline took as a good sign.

“What? There must be something even worse than wanting your own kids dead.”

“Caroline, are you seriously trying to rank this medley crew according to paternal ‘shittiness’?” She could hear the air quote loud and clear in his words.

Shrugging, Caroline reached for his hand, now stilled on her ribcage because of her ever-so-whimsical idea, and guided it to resume its drawing patterns, “I’m tempted. This sounds like there could be a nice colored histogram involved. I’ll even let you pick your own color – I call dibs on hot pink though.”

Klaus snorted, clearly knowing her enthusiasm was only half-faked, “I promise I won’t fight you over it, love.”

“Good. Because you don’t stand a chance anyway.” She retorted smugly, bending down to press a kiss at the crown of his head.

She knew very well that vampires didn’t have a heartbeat. It took her a long time to get used to not feeling it in herself, and even longer to stop looking for it in others. But after that, she started to notice the tells. More importantly, she started to notice his tells.

How his lips hung open, how his eyelashes shook infinitesimally, how that tiny pause in his even breaths segued so smoothly into the next as if nothing happened…all the little signs screaming in silence the skip of a nonexistent heartbeat.

So she snuggled her face into his hair further, curling around him to ease the tightening of her own dead heart, their bodies molding into each other like a gender-reversed version of that famous painting of Gustav Klimt’s.

Sometimes she couldn’t fathom if she was looking at the world through his eyes, or he hers.

“How come you speak so lightly about such things?” Klaus’ voice was barely above a whisper, contorted emotions hidden well in the creases of hushed breaths.

“And how can you give them so much power?” She pushed back the question softly, the knuckle of her finger grazing his jaw line, “I thought it was human nature to forget.”

And she’d experienced that nature more and more now that she was almost in her fifties in human years. They were, in the end, selfish and cowardly creatures who shed memories like they shed hair. Because hair ate at your body, and memories ate at your soul.

She couldn’t even begin to imagine clinging to the past for a century, let alone a millennium.

His quiet sigh weighed heavy on her heart, “maybe so. But may I remind you that we are no longer human, and common senses don’t necessarily apply to our cases.”

“Yet you’re the one who keeps letting him get to you.”

She knew she was treading on thin ice, but she never could hold her tongue in front of him. Feeling him tensing she leaned in to press another kiss on his temple, his body now almost completely wrapped in hers. They felt like one bizarre creature with tangled limbs and ragged breaths, his lashes shuttering against her chin its disproportionally-tiny, erratic heart.

“Caroline…”

He spoke her name in a way that nobody else would. Like a whole new language that consisted of only one word, and every part of speech was just her, her, her.

But somehow she always understood him perfectly.

“It was the summer when I was twelve that it really sank in – that I couldn’t count on my dad.” She started talking without prompt, her other arm reaching over to circle him in a full embrace, “sure he was gone before that, but we talked on the phone, he’d send me gifts and sometimes visit, so it didn’t feel that bad.”

She felt him settle further into her. There were subjects that Klaus would never go into details. But from time to time he’d listen quietly as Caroline talked about them, without a word of response. It’d become yet another one of their things – those feelings that he didn’t dare utter, that he hadn’t quite figured out even after a thousand tumultuous years flowing through her like a dark stream, brought into the freeing daylight by her soft voice. In those moments he’d just hold her tighter, as he did now.

“That summer I went to stay with him and Stephen. We had so much fun together. I’d never seen my father so happy and carefree, always laughing, joking, trying out new things. Stephen brought that out in him. He was not bad himself either. I almost forgave him. But then it was the end of the summer and of course, I didn’t want to leave.”

She’d used up all her tricks but her dad still wouldn’t budge, looking at her apologetically, his eyes full of things that she didn’t understand then.

“My dad said I had to. Period. I was upset, but more than that the whole thing just felt so unfair. My dad chose to leave, he chose to start a new life without me, and he chose to send me back. But why didn’t I get to choose?” She sighed into the side of his neck, “but it turns out life just doesn’t give you that many choices, no matter who you are.”

She trailed her fingers down his vertebrae, one bone at a time. She’d watched him turn several times over the years, her hand helplessly trying to soothe the pain bursting out from the seams. Yet now they rested so cluelessly under her finger tips, little fossils of suffering with invisible secrets and puzzles carved into them, but no answers.

“I was mad for a month or two. About my dad, of course; but also because Kimberly Fell told everyone I kissed her douchebag of a brother and got dumped, which was the biggest lie I’ve ever heard. Hello? Alex Fell was so not my type!” Klaus was chuckling softly into the crook of her shoulder. She slapped him on the back without much force, her own laugh bubbling in her chest, “anyway, I’m just saying that it was…ordinary, you know. He was not father of the year, but he was hardly the cause of everything gone wrong in my life.”

Klaus’ voice startled her a little, hoarse from the long silence on his part, “as I’ve told you a long time ago, the issue with my father was slightly more complicated than that.” But unlike the first time, instead of harsh he just sounded pensive, his hand still caressing her side in its own accord.

“Well I suppose so,” her voice took on a teasing tone, “but I doubt you are a special scattered spot outside the normal distribution curve.”

“I see that statics course of yours has proven useful.” Klaus huffed a laugh, fingers traveling to the dips of her lower waist, making her shiver involuntarily.

“I told you college education had its perks.”

She never finished her first undergrad, opting for traveling the world on her own instead. When she mentioned getting back to it one more time a few months ago, Klaus was more than supportive – at least about everything aside from her class schedule.

“It still doesn’t make up for those mornings when you leave me in bed alone.” He sucked at the sensitive spot between her clavicles, his full lips forming a perfect pout to prove his point.

Caroline shoved him away and flipped them over, straddling him with a triumphant smirk, “don’t be a baby.”

His hand instantly landed on her hips, squeezing her so deliciously she let out a gasp, “fine, then be a good student and tell me where I fall on your normal distribution curves.”

She ground her ass into him, eliciting a low moan, “normal is never the word to use when it comes to my curves, and you know it.”

“My apologies, love.” He looked up at her, all flashy dimples and shiny curls, “I hereby declare that from this day forward your curves will only be referred to as ‘sensational’ and ‘out of this world’.”

“You better.” She leaned over to kiss him, only to feel the discarded piece of paper under her palm. Frowning, she threw it aside, “and for this once I’m not against you straightening Kol up a little. He has no business in The Jar. And ‘daddy’? Seriously? You are at least a grandpa.”

Klaus rolled his eyes, “if we absolutely have to play this game I prefer the vampire term ‘sire’.”

“Huh.” Caroline inclined her head teasingly, “If you want to get into the technicalities, I believe you are my great-great-great-grand-sire. You are practically my ancestor in vamp terms.”

“You make me feel so old, sweetheart.”

“Hate to break it to you, but as a vampire you have to change your perception of time.” Caroline wiggled her brows as she repeated his words to him, “apparently saying you are old is like, the highest compliment.”

“Apparently.” Klaus hummed as he palmed her breasts leisurely, thumbs brushing over her hardening nipples and Caroline’s head fell back in the surge of pleasure.

Still she never was one to back down from a banter, even if her voice was husky from the lust and anticipation, “so suck it up, sweetheart.”

The next second he was shifting their position so he was sitting up with her still in his lap, his hot lips grazing her left breast while his hand kept kneading the other, “I promise to start sucking if you keep up the compliments.”

But before she could utter a word his mouth was on her, soft lips enveloping her nipple with his tongue skillfully brushing the tip. Caroline sighed loudly, her fingers once more sinking into his curls in abandon.

“Oh yes sire!” She arched her back, pushing her breasts into his head-reeling ministrations, her moans half from arousal and half her playful streak, “you are so old, I just love how old you are…” she ground her burning core into his already rock hard cock, “yes, ravish me, punish me, hit me with your long hard cane!”

“You were thinking of When Harry Met Sally weren’t you? Admit it!”

She’d all but forced him to watch with her all the chick flicks that’d ever been made, some more than once, or try five times. It was not her fault that the hybrid had an impressive memory.

“I most certainly did not!” He narrowed his eyes, pulling her closer into his lock of iron-hard arms, “how dare you sully my name like this, young lady.”

“Whatever you say, great-great-great-grand-sire.”

Caroline batted her eyelashes at him, curling the last word around her tongue like he so often did. She gasped when his cock grew even larger underneath her, vibrating against her soaking slit with a mind of its own.

“Are you actually turned on by that?” She faked incredulity while furtively rubbing her core over him, earning a growl deep in his throat.

He looked at her long and hard, sweet and tender, his face still lit up by a playful smile yet his eyes burned into hers as if fusing them together, even if they were already so close she tasted him at the back of her tongue with each breath she took, “Caroline, you make me want to kiss you, spank you, fuck you senseless and have a good laugh with you, all at the same time.”

A long Rant about Sansa and One Spoiler for S8

So I did the stupid thing of reading comments in the article about the Dragon pit being used again in S8. This is me letting out my frustration. Also fair warning it isn’t Da*n*rys friendly.

Now Why was it a stupid thing to do? Obviously, because people are dead set on Sansa dying and Jon&Dani ruling Westeros happily ever after.

First Let’s talk about the Dragon pit. The spoiler is simple “the Dragon pit set will be used again in S8.” There is no more information about it.

Now People speculated that the dragon pit could be used for

A wedding, Jon/Dani(pregnant dani), Cersie/Euron, Cersie/Jon. OR a coronation happens at the end of S8(obviously everyone said Jon&Dani together). OR it could be used for another meeting OR an execution, Euron, Cersie. OR a funeral(only one suggested Dani) OR Cleganbowl (I like this speculation)

A lot of people also speculated that a fight sequence between DRAGONS might happen here, Drogon vs Viserion or Cersie vs Jon&Dani.

Heellloooo! What about Rhaegal vs Drogon? Jon vs Dani, is it really so unthinkable?!

What surprised me the most about these speculations is that every single person believes that Jon and Dani are a single unit now, that they will defeat evil, marry for love, have a kid (because she is so obviously pregnant in that one leaked photo) and live happily ever after while ruling Westeros.

NOT A SINGLE PERSON thought that Jon and Dani might not be on the same side by the end of S8, no one thinks that a Dance of Dragons between Jon and Dani is possible. WHY??? What is the POINT of Jon having a secret parentage reveal and a better claim to the Iron Throne IF IT WON’T BE USED TO CREATE CONFLICT BETWEEN THE TWO ALLIED PARTIES.

Also Why do people think Dani will definitely have a kid in order to restore the targs. Jon can do that on his own, Dani isn’t really needed in that equation. Or Dani can do it without Jon if she can get pregnant. Why is Jon the only person to get her pregnant, was she using condoms with Daario throughout S4, S5 and S6.

More importantly WHY is a targaryan restoration so important. Why should the targs who ruled for 300 years get restored over The Stark Kings of the North who ruled for 8000 years! Yeah just because GRRM is inspired by J.R.R.Tolkein doesn’t mean the Targs are getting a restoration like the Númenors. And even if the Targs are Númenors then Gondor’s line of kings ended, it was the line of the Kings from Arnor that was truly restored by Aragorn, who by the way restored it by marrying the daughter of the Elf who took him in just to protect him and raised him as his own son. So yeah, a Targ restoration with Dani, I don’t think is in the cards.

Now Let’s talk about Sansa speculations in S8, the things I read were

Sansa dying(the most common, as common as Dani being pregnant) in the great war, in Winterfell’s siege and mostly while saving Arya (she has to die saving Arya because Lady died to save Nymeria),

Sansa marrying Gendry(because he is a baratheon and a bastard),

Sansa marrying Podrick or Bronn(you read it correctly, BRONN, that is how he’ll get his castle),

Sansa living without a love interest in Winterfell. (yeah that is what should happen to the girl whose storyline involves finding true love)

To be honest there was no need for Sansa speculation, the article was about the Dragon pit. No one mentioned Bran, not once. So how did Sansa get dragged in here. Well, one person mentioned a Jon and Sansa wedding. And the response to that one person was astounding.

“There is no place for Jonsa here”(by here they meant public forum where everyone is allowed to give their own opinions).

“Jonsa isn’t happening because it is confirmed by the leaked photo that Dani is pregnant. Sansa will die in the battle at Winterfell.”(O you mean that photo where Kit and Emilia are in their S7 costume and Kit has his man bun and isn’t wearing his cloak, a photo that looks like it is from one of the beach scenes in S7)

“Jonsa and Jon*rya(yeah they got dragged in here too) is not happening. Just because there is foreshadowing in the books doesn’t mean it’s happening.” (because foreshadowing are red herrings, and the show isn’t based on the books)

“The show won’t go to a sibling incest route. Even if they are cousins, cousin incest isn’t acceptable nowadays. Besides Jonsa and Jon*rya are perceived to be siblings for 7 seasons, where as Jon*r*ys are not.” (The General Audience knows their aunt and nephew, Bran made it too clear in that epic sex scene)

“GRRM and D&D won’t do that with their biggest production, with more projects to come. The general audience won’t accept a sibling or cousin incest endgame.” (Why would the General Audience accept An Aunt and Nephew end game and be averse to a Cousin endgame.)

First of COUSIN MARRIAGE is not incest because it is acceptable and legal in 80% of the world today (in 2018).

Secondly, it is a common trope in literature especially concerning medieval ages.

Thirdly it has already been portrayed in TV shows, Downton Abbey and almost every period drama. Siblings falling in love has been portrayed in The Borgias(that is actual history). Adopted Siblings falling in love was portrayed in Dexter which was in modern times(yeah Dexter went there, it was a 2 season storyline), also Barry Allen from The Flash was adopted by Joe West, he later marries Joe’s daughter Iris West(no one had a problem with that only because they were 11 when he was adopted, they knew they weren’t siblings and he already had a crush on her).

The point is the general audience is more adapted to cousins and siblings/adopted-siblings falling in love then they are of an aunt and nephew getting together and having a kid.

GRRM is writing a book that is his own, he has complete rights to what he does with it regardless of what the readers think. The entire Targaryan rule and history is filled with siblings falling in love, marrying and having kids. No one stopped reading his books because of that. So Why would he shy away from it now and why would readers stop buying his books.

D&D are making a show, they had siblings doing it on screen in the first episode. They have never stopped at portraying controversial issues before. They didn’t lose viewers because of these issues. So why stop now at S8. They know how it will end, they won’t change that ending for delicate sensibilities.

The show isn’t just about romance, it has all sorts of issues, a feudal system, religious fanatics, mythical creatures like dragons direwolves and children of the forest, magic rituals, a Zombie apocalypse and the most basic issue, the war for the Iron Throne.

The series is called “Game of Thrones”, it isn’t ending with two claimants of the same family(Jon and Dani, both Targaryans) getting one throne, with the main guy falling for the main girl and getting a happily ever after. It won’t be that simple. That is so Predictable, it is a really boring end to a fantastic Story.

Sorry it took me a minute to get to this, I wanted to think out my reply.

First, I haven’t been keeping score but it may very well be the first time Martin has been asked about Sherlock directly since S4. It seems he doesn’t get asked nearly as often as Ben and whether that’s due to him limiting those questions in his sit-down interviews (and this one snuck through on the red carpet) or if it’s just because Ben plays the titular role, I don’t know.

I’m in the camp that until Martin specifically says it, I don’t believe he doesn’t want to come back for S5. I think that Martin and Ben both know what is coming to some extent (since Mofftiss sat them both down separately to pitch it, and I know I reblogged that interview at some point but now can’t find it, if anyone has a link?). In my experience, when a celebrity is done with the show, they usually do announce it to the public (For example, Gillian Anderson most recently confirmed she will not be coming back for any more X-Files should they choose to continue the reboot).

I know Martin’s body language in a lot of S4 clips seems ominous, and I’m not going to claim he loved what was done with John in S4, but if he knows there is a reason, something coming in S5 (and I firmly believe S4 was wonky because it leads to answers in S5, meaning… there’s a bigger picture we just haven’t seen), I think he’s just acting.

Or… failing to. When it comes to this show, it seems Ben and Martin are both bad at keeping things under wraps.

This post by the brilliant @johnlockcorner​ about surprise parties explains a lot too - obviously Moffat and Gatiss know what is to come, and they’re no more willing to giving us information. In large part, I’m sure it’s exactly this - why would they spoil their own show?

The reason he might seem a little icy is also similar to what happened to Ben a few weeks back - PBS held a panel about The Child in Time and Ben was asked about Sherlock and he essentially refused to answer questions about it. The link is my response to an ask about that, but I think this is very much the same in Martin’s case.

Martin has done SO MANY amazing projects during and since Sherlock. I, for one, want to know from him if he’s coming back for Startup Season 3, but no one has asked that yet (that I’ve seen, anyway). He’s in the movie Cargo, which is coming out this summer, and the movie Ghost Stories which premieres even sooner (and both have had their screening debuts). He was literally walking the carpet for Black Panther, and people are asking him about Sherlock.

For as much as these guys accomplish, as much as they stretch their creative legs and play other types of characters, I’m sure it is frustrating to have all the other things ignored for Sherlock.

Even if that’s not the reason, what more can they really tell us that we don’t know already?

I used to work for a tech company. A big, fruit-themed one. And people were SURE that I knew when the next model of any given item was coming out, and the specs, and the pricing, etc. I truly didn’t. They don’t tell anyone but the essential employees who are BUILDING the devices until they tell the public, true story. And although I answered every customer with the same polite smile and shrug, it got so irritating (in the same way anyone who has worked retail will know the “no price tag? Must be free!” joke just GRATES on you after awhile).

I think much like that, Ben and Martin have only so much information that they are allowed to share, and other than that, they can only shrug and repeat the party line.

Obviously this is all just my read of things, I know a lot of people out there have differing opinions, and the truth is, only Martin really knows for sure, right? I just have a little more faith in the show, in S4 sucking for a reason, and I think that they do know that reason, but can’t talk about it, so… they don’t. In the meantime, they want the other projects they’ve done to have their time to shine.
