found a good few beads lying around and decided to make a little robot out of them!Probably going to paint it later after it dries, but so far it’s looking pretty funky.
I do not have the hand stability to work on any sort of delicate small scale but! Good enough!!
#it took me like two days#but I’m proud!!#it’s been a hot minute since I’ve done any sort of craft so this was a nice change of pace methinks#the leg kept falling off so I was just like ‘hhhhfuck okay’#and kept adding a bunch of unnecessary detail#I’ll probably post more/better images once I start painting#just to go through the process#craft#handmade#robots#beadbot#that’s what these are called right#frost art

Four beadbots, a soft BB-8 wearing a homemade bracelet as a necklace, and a soft smol prof, all dressed for Alola. Eyeris (flower crown) and Lica (colourful glass beads) usually live on top of my dresser, but they’ve joined the Desk Crew for a photo!
Lingin (wood and black) and Cardi (copper with glass beads) are dating and like each other very much.

okay taking a photo right now because. ough. I’ve been working on this nonstop since last night and I think I’m going to take a break for now
either way!! gonna work on the flocking later! and the uniform! had to build up the arms and legs with some string, but uhh hopefully it should be looking mound-ish enough. most of this is gonna be moss.

I’m probably going to make more now that I have the time, because like. they’re so so silly. I love them

doing things is so weird sometimes. I can sit down to write a silly one-shot that I've been thinking about for days and not be able to get a single word on the page because I lose steam way too easily just writing notes, but the SECOND I joke about something I get hit with the urge to spend time on it for hours without losing focus
anyways unrelated I spent five or six hours making wet pretzels today
#also not pictured: the time I got a tye dye kit the night before splatfest and speedran making a replica of the scissors gear#even though the instructions were very clear that it took 24 hours to do and I did it in two#also ALSO not pictured: that beadbot who I made the other day#also also also not pictured: that one time I went into roll20 to jokingly suggest to some friends we run an among us one-shot#and how I spent the entire time recreating the entire map along with the lighting effects and collision mechanics#also also also also not pictured: several other things#doing things solely for the sake of the bit fuels me to no end#like did I get a few drops of hot oil on my hand because I'm not the best with frying things? sure#but did I still spend another hour working on them?#also yes#my hand may be slightly burnt but my passion for wet pretzels burns brighter#frost talks

working on priming it!!! I heard you should do a base before highlighting it from above, so this is just the stuff underneath — it’s already coming together a lot more though!

All primed and ready!! I’m going to take a bit before painting it, but the highlighting looks a bit more noticeable in person, at least.
I also didn’t realize I used gloss for the black base coat and sort of sat around for fifteen minutes until I realized that was just how it was and it had been dry for a while, so. That was fun!
