ON THE CONTRARY -- THE HUNTING HAS ONLY JUST BEGUN.
PIC(S) INFO: Spotlight on inked and published "Batman versus Predator" Vol. 1 promotional poster art for the '91/'92 limited comic-book series of the same name. A dual publication by DC/Dark Horse Comics. Artwork by Andy and Adam Kubert
"The only test I've ever found for judging the artistic credibility of using a character from one fictional universe in another such universe is this: If the character were presented fresh, as a new creation, would he be acceptable? So: If a writer suggested an extraterrestrial with advanced weaponry and a hunter-killer ethos as the villain of a Batman series, would I buy it? Well... yes. Possibly. With a lot of misgivings and hesitations."
-- DENNIS O'NEIL (1939-2020), American comic book writer-creator-editor, opening preface to the "Batman versus Predator" collected trade paperback
Resolution from largest to smallest: 2017x1250, 1048x1080 (2x), & 1376x917.

THERE'S A NEW PLAYER IN GOTHAM CITY -- "HUNTER OR HUNTED?"
PIC(S) INFO: Spotlight on inked and fully-colored promotional ads for the "Batman versus Predator" Vol. 1 [three-issue] limited series dually published by DC and Dark Horse Comics from January to March, 1992. Artwork by Andy Kubert.
"Rocket ships and Batman are not a good mix: our Caped Crusader may use technology -- he has to, to be a credible crime-fighter in the twentieth century -- but he is not of technology; it has nothing to do with what he is. And it has nothing to do with what the Predator is, either. Take a look at him and then search your memory for predecessors. Shiva, Satan, Grendel, the Fenris Wolf -- the fiends, the devils, the devourers, the enemies of mercy and humanity -- those are the Predator's kinfolk. Do we really care that he arrived by spacecraft instead of being belched up from a fiery pit? Not unless we're very picky indeed. What's important is that he's here, suddenly among us, hateful and threatening, and our champion must meet him in mortal combat. That this champion is himself clothed in darkness -- is, in fact, a Dark Knight whose identity was forged in tragedy -- only makes the contest more interesting."
-- DENNIS "DENNY" O'NEIL (1939-2020), c. August 1992 (introduction to the 1993 trade paperback)
