Long story short Jay become the mule of Lazarus spirits. On a bench, he's eating the vegan chocolates brought by Ivy and drinking Champagne from the bottle.

He can feel is blood, talking, laughing, looking its date fondly, but the touch of Ivy too when she grow a vine from the ground so they can touch hands.

Weeks by weeks, the story continue, he swears the lazarus is POUTING and giving him the cold shoulder when he says he can't go see Ivy seven time a week in Arkham.

Nobody truly remembers what Pamela Isley looks like, so Jason Todd-Wayne is multiples times phtographied with this gorgeous red head at high standing rooftop vegan restaurants with plants everywhere.

Even Bruce has difficulties buying this story and needs all his battech and Zatana's power to believe it.

The dates become more interesting when Harley as a sign of acceptation in their home of Lazzie blew up a fleet of Lexcorp's cargos (they were empty of people and no waste went into sea, yeah !)

And this story continue and tell how Jason Todd ends up in Vegas being witness of Ivy, Harley and Lazzie wedding ceremony.

For those who have been following my watching of Batman: the Animated Series (and other assorted Batman movies):

I finished season two of B:tAS last week and had to wait for season three to come in to the library, and I finally got to pick it up over the weekend. However, apparently there was an animation change for season three, and because I think they made Bruce and Joker look stupid, I will not be finishing the rest of the show. The first two seasons were delightful, though! I loved every minute of them!

I also happened to pick up the first season of the 1960s Batman TV series at the library, and I'm already absolutely captivated by everything in it! The batcave is so cool; I think the various battech is absolutely inspired and I wish more recent Batman stuff had the same vibes! Also, César Romero put his whole entire pussy into Joker and I love everything about him, he's already tied with Mark Hamill as my favourite Joker and he's easily the best actor in this show (though I've only seen eight episodes so far, that's likely subject to change!)

Other things I got from the library include the 2022 Batman (which I am not looking forward to exclusively because it's like three hours long) and the Tim Burton Batman trilogy (which I'm very excited for because I'm pretty sure it's the ones that gave me nightmares when I was a kid), so those will likely be liveblogged when I finally get a chance to watch them

And in other news, I've also recently started watching Remington Steele! And I love everything about it already!! So there will likely be some more of that in the mix too :)

What if Tim was adopted by Clark instead of Bruce? And taken in early cause Superman rescued Tim from a kidnapping?

Or maybe Supes finds a kid far from home having escaped his kidnappers himself due to his parents being on another trip and not knowing he was kidnapped?

Either way Supes ends up taking this kid in, investigating and finding the Drake's are neglectful and abusive parents, takes them to court with the help of Bruce (who has just taken in Jason around this time) and ends up becoming Tim's foster dad.

Some family bonding happens where Clark learns that one of Tim's passions is detective work and photography and thus stirs him into the path of becoming an investigative reporter and photojournalist

Who starts working at Daily Planet when he is old enough to intern aka 16. (No matter that Tim has skipped 3 grades. Clark doesn't want him working til he is 16 cause he wants Tim to be a kid

Unfortunately Clark can't stop him from taking up a cape, he can train him (also inlist Bruce to help) though thankfully Tim is more a behind the scenes crusader

Heheh he becomes Krypt/Cypher at 13 after he shows Clark his complete mastery over the Fortress' tech.

People don't see him on the field often cause Tim is usually just in the background. He does to night patrols when older though (Supes won't let him stay up past 12..)

Carrie had loved the circus ever since she was a little girl, it reminded her of one of the only good memories she had of her parents, before she was neglected and became batgirl, so you can imagine she wants everything and anything to do with the circus.

She regularly sneaks in and watches everyone practice, they are aware but she doesn't bother them so they don't bother her.

You can imagine her surprise when a frail looking person comes out of one of the tents and starts practicing for some of the things they clearly weren't trained for.

Big sis mode kicks in when she sees you get hurt. She completely forgets that she's technically not meant to be here, and books it and runs straight for you, hoisting you up onto her hip in order to check for injuries.

Later she finds out that you are the sickly child of one of the performers, and that you also used to perform but no longer could because of your illness.

Ultimate big sister mode activates once she learns that you regress.

You want to keep preforming? She builds you smaller versions anything and everything you could need, and uses batman's tech to alter what she builds to make it the safest it could be.

Loves building things with you, calls you her little Tinker.

Regularly sews you fancy costumes and equips them with BatTech so you can do super flashy magic tricks.

You've got a room at Wayne's manor that she decorated to look like a cloud kingdom.

Always having sleepovers until your parents agree to let you move in with her and Wayne in hopes that you could get treatment.

Big sis Carrie makes all your toys and stuffies, and she began making these little collectable bat stuffies once you began going to the doctors.

Makes the biggest most colourful bat on your last day of treatment.

Throws the party of parties and helps you train again for the circus once she's sure your fit enough to do so.

Everyday is the best with her, she always has some way of cheering you up.

Can you imagine Bruce's surprise when he catches Carrie with a pacifier in her mouth?

Stands there, unsure of how to process this so he just makes sure she didn't see him and sneaks away.

Eventually talks to her about it and is hella confused by ageregression but he tries his best to be supportive, and offers to be her carer.

Can't be that hard right? It's like looking after a kid? He's saved plenty of kids?

And I mean WRONG

very unequipped to deal with tantrums, or basically anything.

Tries his best to care for Carrie but fails miserably and has to call for backup.

Selina is hesitant at first, thinking its a trap until she hears how desperate Wayne is. She agrees, seeing as she was so good with kids when she was younger, and agrees to teach him her ways.

When Selina shows up everything changes, it's like a mini bootcamp for Wayne and heaven for Carrie.

Selina teaches battsy how to maintain order and how to properly care for children and regressors,

Needless to say once Bruce realises how wrong he was when he first became Carries carer he felt really guilty and spoiled her rotten.

Now Selina comes over regularly to help Bruce under a truce that both will forget work and focus on their friend.

Lots of wholesome bonding moments ensue.

Mostly just baking because Selina loves to bake and both Bruce and Carrie love to eat.

The group usually end up in a food coma on the couch, only for the two carers to wake up to a new face of makeup and a missing regressor.

Sunlight filtered through the large windows as I slowly opened my eyes. I groan slightly. My head was pounding. I keep my eyes closed long enough to pull my shit together. Some girls would consider me lucky and why you might ask? As I finally opened my eyes, I was facing the massive bicep of Bruce Wayne himself. Fuck. 

I look down underneath the covers. I still had my dress on from last night. “Glad to see you’re awake,” his morning voice speaks. 

I groan loudly, “Talking hurts my head.” I mumble underneath the covers I had pulled over me. All he does is laughs, “What the fuck happened last night? Why do I feel like death incarnate?”

“What you’re feeling is Phoebe giving you 2 Russian Mauraders as chasers after your double shots of vodka,” Bruce answers while flipping a page of his book.

“That bitch,” I growl as I roll up onto one arm. “Why am I in your bed?”

Finally, Bruce looks over to me, “I put you in your old room, but some time around 5 am, you ended up here.”

I raise an eyebrow, then I wince cause goddamn my head hurts. “You also told me about the case you’re working,” Bruce says solemnly. 

I sit up in his bed despite my head protesting, “Feed me first then I’ll talk more, yeah?” I say.

A knock resounds at my door, “Master Bruce, breakfast is ready,” he opens the door, “Although, I couldn’t find Ms. Thom- Oh.” 

“We’ll be down soon. Thanks Alfred,” I say. The door closes and I tell Isley, “In my closet, there are some outfits you can choose from.” 

I walk out the room to let her get dressed. I make my way down to the breakfast nook. Alfred is milling around dusting a spot that has no dust. I stand next to the table and clear my throat, “Alfred.”

He acts surprised at me being down the stairs, “Oh, Master Bruce, what a surprise! My apologies for stepping in on such precious moments between you and Ms. Thomas.”

“You’re so full of shit, Alfred.” I say with an eye roll. 

“You should be nicer to Alfred, Bruce. I mean he does tolerate you after all,” Isley interrupts. 

I felt my heart speed up. I don’t know how she did it, but no matter what she wore she looked amazing. She had on a tank top, black jeans, and black boots. Her hair had started to curl back up from its time being straight.

“Breakfast looks great Alfred,” Isley compliments. 

“You flatter me, Ms. Thomas. I will leave you two.” Alfred leaves the breakfast nook. It’s just Isley and I.

Isley is already happily digging into breakfast. I don’t have much of an appetite so I swirl my chopped up pancakes around my plates. “You’re extremely moody for someone who doesn’t have a hangover,” Isley jokes.

I shrug. I didn’t have a response. I was afraid that I would say the wrong thing. 

Isley sets down her fork, “His name is Amos. 13 year old Black boy from Andan County, Indiana,” she starts, “Bruce. Something bad has happened to him.”

I hear the worry through her voice. Over a boy she doesn’t even know. Another reason you fell for her, dumbass. “How do you know?” I ask. 

She opens her mouth. I could tell her brain was swirling with a million things that would explain her turmoil over this young boy. “The school,” she says.

“School?”

“Cork County Middle School. When I went I was expecting a suburban public middle school in rural Indiana, but it’s so much more than that,” her voice breaks off. 

She catches my stare. The look in her eyes, I knew it from a long time ago. “You visited? By yourself? I don’t need to tell you how dumb that decision was." I shake my head.

“I was doing my job,” she spits defensively.

Great! Now you’ve pissed her off. “Why did the school seem off?” I change the subject.

She gives me a hard look that says, we’ll discuss that later. “The headmaster. Names Guille, she had her eyes gouged out and spoke about disciplining Amos,” then she starts getting more animated, “More than your usual ‘black children are a nuisance and I’m a covert racist so I will punish them’ type of discipline.” 

I just raise an eyebrow. “The headmaster eyes were gouged out? Interesting.” I pause and then it hits me, “You think it’s metahuman related?” 

She toys with her bottom lip for a second. Focus, Bruce. “I wanted a second opinion, but...everything is leading towards that. I think Cork County Middle is a front for metahuman trafficking. And they’re trafficking orphan children. Specifically metahuman ones.” 

The words linger heavy in between us. Leaving Gotham for the night didn’t sit right with me, but even I could say that patrol was starting to get boring. “We can check it out tonight,” I say leaning back in my chair.

I shoot Dick a text: Could you watch Titus tonight? Giving Alfred a break.

The smile she gives me doesn’t quite meet her eyes, “I appreciate Bruce, really. I just need to find this kid.” 

His response vibrates my phone: I hope you’re going on a date with that hottie from balcony. What was her name? Ivy? 

Me: Isley.

Dick Grayson: God, I’m so hungover. Don’t do anything I would ;)

I ignore his message, but another rings through: Actually, please do the things I would. It’ll prove beneficial for you. :)

“Listen, I’m gonna find Pheebs and head out of Gotham. Meet at my place at 8?” Isley interrupts my text conversation with Dick.

I look up at her now that she’s standing next me, “Am I supposed to know where you live?” I deadpan. 

She gets right next to my ear, “I’m sure you’ll manage, Bats.” is all she says before she walks out the breakfast nook. That woman is gonna be the death of me.

“Hey, I’m heading out for the night, you need anything?” Phoebe knocks at the door of my office. 

I shake my head. “I’m good. Thanks, though.”

I could feel her eyes roam my hunched figure, “You’re going out tonight?” 

She knows the answer to that question. I just sigh and set my pen down. She puts both of her hands up in a gesture that signals her letting the topic go, “Just...be careful, yeah? Don’t know what I’d do without you.” 

She slaps the door frame a couple times and leaves. I hear the door lock and go back to annotating a case that might have something to do with Amos’ disappearance. I hear a woosh noise. “Trying to sneak up on me?” I ask. 

He doesn’t respond, but I know he’s there. I underline something on the file. “There’s a file labeled Kristee Frost. She works for CCPD and I think she’s the one who’s funneling the children through the school,” I say without looking up. 

“What makes you so sure?” he says. 

I finally look up at Batman. “She’s an outsourced social services liaison for children with, ahem, special developments,” I say in quotes. 

All Batman does is hum, “What’s the plan?”

I stand up and allow my own suit of armor to phase through. “We’re gonna need the Batwing in stealth mode. We’re gonna break into Cork County Middle School and do what we do best. Detective work.” 

He starts tapping on his arm, calling the Batwing to my city. “New suit?” he asks. 

I look at the white armor. It’s accented with gold striping. “Something like that. I figured I needed an upgrade if this turns out to be something big.” I explain. 

He doesn’t respond so I take that as positive and open the window. I could hear the Batwing over us. Batman comes closer to me as I climb out the window onto the fire escape. I grab his arm and start to fly us up towards the plane. Upon arrival, his connected BatTech recognizes him. However, I wasn’t ready for it to know me. “Designation: Phantom. ID confirmed.” 

“Isley,” Batman says typing at the BatTech flight grid. 

“Bruce,” I say back. 

“Are you sure you’re prepared for what we may find?”

I think about what he means. Uncovering a trafficking ring of any kind is not easy pill to swallow. A small part of me hopes that it’s a one off chance. Amos is just missing because he ran off or something stupid, but deep down I know that is not what this is. “Nighttimes a burnin, Batman,” is all I say.

He gives a curt nod and we take off to the school.

What happens if Batman Beyond!Bruce used an android he controls through a cyber helmet to do the crime busting (after he used a gun to save himself from getting killed) during his 50's (years before he met Terry)?

i never thought I'd actually get an ask, so this is new but what've i got to loose? Sleep? (I actually forgot that I was answering this on phone notes for a few days 😰.)

Im gonna assume the gun part references the scene where Bruce picks up a gun, goes to use it, and is promptly horrified into retiring batman (if i remember correctly)? Well its already stated in, i think the cartoon, canon that bruce's tech is still way ahead of where Terry's generation of tech is when im assuming that canon!bruce would merely be providing upkeep on the battech not actually creating more up-to-date stuff. In keeping with that logic this means that any tech, android or otherwise, that bruce creates 20-30 years before Batman Beyond would vastly outpace pretty much anyone in gotham.

If bruce were able to create an android that he would be able pilot soley by using a helmet instead of an exoskeleton type setup or one of those suits balls/sensors that actors use (lets be real, DC has probably already done that somehow) that would allow him to still be a vigilante as long as he can keep his mind sharp and reflexes sharper. The android would need some kind of limited, and i mean very limited, AI system incase the signal gets disconnected. And at some point it will be cut off from bruce and he cant really afford the let that kind of tech to fall into the wrong hands, be they batman's villains or bruce wayne's business rivals or both. The android would the be able to assess the situation and figure out how to return to the cave without geing followed, but does it finish whatever situation it was in in the first place before it leaves? It would need to be able to analyze the situation and it would have to rely on any kind simulations that bruce provided it but lets be real here as smart and paranoid as bruce is he is literally unable to think of every kind of situation that could possibly happen to it.

Im not denying that the android would be useful, because it would be, but i also think that if it were truly an option then bruce would still become a recluse because, as canon says, by this point he has no one that he can rely on. Alfred is dead (rest in peace you magnificent butler), his first generation of batkids are out of the bat business and out of contact no matter which timeline you wanna look at and his second generation of batkid(s) isn't for another 20ish years. By this point in time hes already pushed the justice league away so he has no contact with them. Once he gives his company to Derek Powers the only reason he might have to leave his mansion is possibly charity events and hes getting old so he can get out of those easily.

Sufficiently advanced technology for the time and the smarts to use it? Check

Batman is known but is still considered to be something of a myth and using an android to be his batman body would just increase the mythology surrounding batman. Before batman was just a human body and no matter how strong a human is they can only lift so much and go so long before their body rebels against them and drops. Now all he would have to worry about is how long his mind would be able to deal with piloting the android as long as he stays healthy. Batman also was susceptible to the various gases and poisons his villains are known for but if the android is on the streets and not the human body then that is one more thing that batman is now immune to.

Let's just face it Bruce Wayne is a paranoid bastard and he would do everything in his not inconsiderable power to make android!batman work. So batman would be around a lot longer but the question is how would he react when Terry comes along? For the sake of convenience let's just say that their meeting is still pretty much the same from canon; would bruce be able to give batman the suit to Terry or would bruce stay as batman the android?

This also supposes that bruce was able to overcome almost using a gun to kill when that was one of his rules: no guns and no killing.
