December 8, 2023 - Hundreds of people gathered in Guernica, Basque Country, to form a human flag in solidarity with the Palestinian people, as air raid sirens filled the air. The town of Guernica became symbol and a rallying cry against war crimes and the slaughter of civillians after German and Italian planes bombed the town for Franco's fascists in 1937, during the Spanish civil war, killing hundreds of innocent civillians. Do you say aupa or epa?

Kaixo anon!

I used both, but each has its own meaning.

aupa! - informal greeting. It has other variations like apa! or aupi! if you feel cute. It's also used to cheer on somebody.

epa! - interjection used when you witness someone almost falls or falls, or even when you accidentally hit somebody. You can also say iepa! or even iepale!.

The best example is this video where the distinction is obvious and the usage of these words is perfectly accurate:
