Comedy hip hop
Hip hop subgenre
Comedy hip hop or comedy rap is a subgenre of hip hop music designed to be amusing or comedic, compared to artists who incorporate humor into their more serious, purist hip hop styles.
Satirical hip hop is a variant of comedy hip hop done in a sarcastic, parodic, or deadpan way.
Other forms of comedy rap, such as meme rapand ironic rap, both known for their aggressive and dark comedic approaches, achieved some mainstream success during the 2000s and 2010s. Many examples of comedy hip hop are parodic.
Characteristics
Satirical hip hop may be a parody of the whole genre of hip hop and/or a form of critical music that uses hip-hop as a vehicle for satirical messages. Musical influence and scope vary, ranging from gangsta rap, mumble rap, trap rap to alternative hip hop. The more humorous satirical sub-genre meme rap was created with the intent of becoming viral. In the context of mumble rap, a satirical hip hop song might involve lo-fiproduction, use of personas/pseudonyms (e.g. George "Joji" Miller), simplistic music videos, lazy rhymes, and intentionally stereotypical lyrics/topics.
Origin
Satire and hip-hop have been intertwined since the Black Arts Movement period; hip-hop satire bridges popular culture forms like rap and experimental fictional forms while "exploring the complexities of Black American identity." Hip-hop culture has also been criticized in other media, such as Fear of a Black Hat (1993), a mockumentary focusing on hip-hop posturing;the Boondocks episode "The Story of Gangstalicious" (2005); and Spike Lee's Bamboozled (2000).
Before the darker themes that are characteristic of the gangsta rap of the 1990s, comedy hip hop, with its lighter and more humorous style, came to prominence in the 1980s, carried by popular acts such as the Beastie Boys.
In the post-2000s digital era, satirical rap, especially African-American satirical rap, retains a marginal status, because commenting on black cultural representations or moving away from performing black stereotypes that paradoxically cemented hip-hop's global status risks the possibility of an artist's commercial failure. Some who escaped this fate include the early-1990s alternative hip hop trio and progenitor of modern satirical rap De La Soul (e.g. their 1989 landmark album 3 Feet High and Rising, their record industry-critical 1991 album De La Soul Is Dead, and their 2012 song "Must B the Music") and Childish Gambino in the 2010s.
History and examples
1980s
Run-DMC's "Christmas in Hollis" from 1987 is comedy rap, as is DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince's 1988 song "Parents Just Don't Understand". N.W.A and Ice Cube's early albums were not as comedic and lighthearted as the Fresh Prince's but did incorporate humor.
Various influential comedy hip hop groups began in the late 1980s, such as DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince, De La Soul, Kid 'n Play, Das EFX, and Fu-Schnickens.
1990s
"Weird Al" Yankovic has made parody tracks of popular hip hop songs since the 1990s including "Amish Paradise" and "White and Nerdy". Another early example is with Southern California-based rapper Afroman, with his two well-known tracks "Crazy Rap" and "Because I Got High," both released in 2001, which featured comedic lyrics.
Throughout the late 1990s and 2000s, rappers including Eminem, Ludacris and Afroman gained popularity, as did rappers such as Hopsin.
2000s
The Lonely Island is an American comedy trio who released their first comedic rap song, Ka-Blamo!, in 2001. They rose to fame after joining Saturday Night Live (SNL) in 2005, where they made many satirical songs that they described as "fake rap". One of their first videos to air, "Lazy Sunday," became an internet sensation and garnered over five million views before NBC took it down. The Lonely Island's brand is to make songs that sound macho but actually parody masculinity. They have collaborated with numerous mainstream artists, including Justin Timberlake, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, and more. Their YouTube channel has exceeded 1 billion views; they are Grammy-nominated; their albums have charted on the Billboard Hot 100; and they won an Emmy award for their song "Dick in a Box." Some of their most popular songs are "I'm on a Boat," "I Just Had Sex," and "Jizz in My Pants." Since leaving SNL, they have continued to make satirical albums and are currently still active.
In 2008, Odd Future members Tyler, the Creatorand Jasper Dolphin released their sole EP under the short-lived comedy group name "I Smell Panties." The duo used elements of gangsta rapand Southern hip hop in a comedic way when performing as I Smell Panties. Tyler then released a track in 2011 called "Come Through Looking Clean," a joke song performed under a character named "Young Nigga." The song parodies the "Bling Era" of mainstream hip hop that was popular during the 2000s and draws heavy inspiration from the music of Lil B.[citation needed] The Young Nigga character would later be re-used on various skits in the 2012 Adult Swim program Loiter Squad, which was created by and starred members of Odd Future. In February 2016, Tyler revealed that his 2011 breakout viral single "Yonkers" was made as a joke song attempting to parody the style of New York rappers (hence the title. named after the city of the same name).
Michigan-based Internet celebrity and rapper Rucka Rucka Ali became famous in the late 2000s and early 2010s for creating pop song parodies (including parodies of popular hip hop songs) containing lyrics for shock value. He often includes politically incorrect and juvenile references to ethnic stereotypes, topical subject matter, and dark humor. His music also tends to make use of comedic portrayals of celebrities and his several alter egos espouses stereotypical qualities of specific ethnic groups. Some critics have labeled Ali as a racist as a reaction to his songs, although his humor seems to be heavily influenced by mainstream comedy television shows, such as South Park, Family Guy, and Chappelle's Show, and has jokingly defended his brand of humor by claiming that he's affirming the stereotypes he's constantly referencing in his songs as factual. His videos and YouTube channels are frequently removed (since he started creating music videos, he has had 17 YouTube channels deleted for terms of service violations), but are reuploaded by his fans.
2010s
"Thrift Shop" by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis broke into charts internationally in 2012.
In the mid-2010s, Ryan Harryman, a San Jose State University student and member of the school's water polo club team, became a viral sensation on the Internet under the stage name "3PAC." He was known for his self-produced music videos, bombastic and aggressive comedic rap songs, and diss tracks targeting mainstream rappers like Eminem and 2 Chainz, as well as YouTube gaming channel PewDiePie. 3PAC made a guest appearance on The New CALassic, a comedy hip hop mixtape performed by Internet music critic Anthony Fantano (under his "Cal Chuchesta" alter ego) that was released in August 2015. Harryman died at the age of 24 in October 2015 after suffering severe brain damage during a water polo practice.
In 2015, American rapper Hopsin released a song called "No Words", a satirical song making fun of "Mumble Rappers". In the song, Hopsin only speaks in unintelligible gibberish while using expensive cars, guns, drugs, and women in bikinis in the music video to imitate modern rappers.
In 2017, YouTube personality Filthy Frank released a music project titled Pink Season, the second album performed under the name "Pink Guy", with some songs poking fun at hip hop music as a whole, among other things. The track "Hand On My Gat" for example, features a character named PolitikZ that acts as a caricature for hardcoreunderground rappers; that character's previous appearance was on the Filthy Frank video "BAD INTERNET RAPPERS" (uploaded in November 2014), where he performed a song called "Real Hip Hop" that directly parodied the stereotypical anti-mainstream and politically charged attitudes of underground rappers. The Pink Seasonalbum reached number one on the iTunes charts and peaked at 70 on the Billboard 200.
In April 2018, Internet personality and music critic Anthony Fantano began releasing more satirical hip hop tracks under his Cal Chuchesta alter ego, releasing the tracks "Coin Star" and "Don't Talk To Me."
In the late 2010s, new artists in the genre such as Lil Dicky and Ugly God were also gaining popularity, helping the genre to maintain a substantial loyal following. There has also been an uprising in meme rappers such as Yung Gravy.[citation needed]

ADULT ANIMATION I'VE WATCHED AND RECOMMEND: Just my opinions, with some commentary :P
The Boondocks -> Aaron McGruder (Black man) wrote this as a satirical dark comedy regarding his opinions, it's a very political show (based off his newspaper series) and I don't recommend watching it unless you're willing to genuinely ponder his points and how he chose to portray certain caricatures of people. Do not take everything at face value.
BoJack Horseman -> I haven't finished this show myself but have heard good things about the ending, it's not a political show but more an insider look at dark Hollywood secrets and the complexities of mental health/illness.
Bob's Burgers -> Truly a silly and goofy show. The art style puts people off but it's really funny and the characters are easy to fall in love with.
Archer -> Crude and dark, it surrounds a fictional spy agency. I fell off after season 7 or so, but it's an entertaining show that captures edgy humor rather well.
Daria -> An older show that has the main character deal with high school drama in the 90's. I think younger adults/older teens would really like it, but understand that Daria herself is a flawed character. She's funny and deadpan, yes, but that's not an excuse to be rude or dismissive of others.
Futurama -> Matt Groening makes The Simpsons in the ~future~
Regular Show -> It originally aired on Cartoon Network, but this is def perfect for young adults especially those just starting college and joining the work force and feeling disappointed in society.
Castlevania (2017) -> An animated adaptation of the video game series that was actually animated by the same team that made Fairly Odd Parents and Tuff Puppy surprisingly. There's a lot of religious and mythological lore they expose one too, with a lot of representation of cultures and some super genuine funny moments.
King Of The Hill -> Mike Judge's classic surrounding the Hill family. It's super entertaining because of how mundane it is, times have changed since then and it can be some culture shock since it takes place in Texas but still funny and meme-tastic.
Disenchantment -> Fantasy and medieval setting, they have Eric Andre as a character! It's actually where I got my "level 4 daemon" tag from. It's a very funny show with surprisingly dark themes that work really well.
Aggretsuko -> An anime! It's a Sanrio character having a mid-life crisis but she's into heavy metal karaoke. It's super Japanese too, lol.
Love Death & Robots -> Hit-or-miss anthology series with different art and plots every episode. There's one made by the same people from Into The Spiderverse!!!!

http://saltwukong.tumblr.com/post/177992323986/rwby-actually-has-poc-representation-you-dolts
You know, even a newbie can kick your asses.
For the sake of saving space, I cut the gifs out of your post and edited the format. Anyway here’s why you’re the most wrong person to ever be wrong. I’m going to give you a list much like the “doing LGBT rep” thing I did a little while ago, in fact it’s pretty much identical.
Translation: watch me bullshit out of my ass.
If your “poc rep” falls into any of these categories:
unimportant/background
villain
dead
whitewashed
You get no points whatsoever. You have no representaton. Shame on you
A. Doesn’t matter
B. Doesn’t matter
C. Doesn’t matter
And D. Is always misused.
Not to mention you didn’t explain how this doesn’t count. And no, it doesn’t work with ‘racism’ because I can find an equvilanet in white people.
So each time you just throw someone into one of the ‘doesn’t matter’ categories, you lose a point. You are erasing representation. Sucks to be you. Oh, and double points for the ‘Is always misused’ category.
So how many of the characters you just outlines pass this test?
Dunno, how many of yoru arguments make you sound like a racist by your own standards?
There is no RWBY equivalent. Besides, even if them having Chinese names had weight, they’re still white as fuck. Yang and Tai are blond and blue-eyed as fuck, and Raven can only barely be called Asian-coded because of her dress and choice of swordplay–both of which are ripped directly from Adam Taurus, who isn’t the least bit Asian-coded. “Whitewashed” is in full effect here. So no, these characters don’t pass the test.
Not whitewashing as that requires the original to be anything but white. So -2 points.
Oh wait, Asian people are alos known to be light skin. Double points for racism. so -4 for you.
You’re knee-capping yourself. You not only admitted she’s white, but headcanons don’t count.
So your headcanon of “RT is racist” doesn’t count?
Ding dong, you are wrong.
“Racial parallel” does not actually equal “non-white”, especially when there actually are non-white people in the show. Blake gets a 0 for representation.
BZZZT!
Skin color doesn’t matter in Remnant so your argument is invalid since it requires Remnant to work by OUR definitions which it doesn't.
Also you didn’t explain WHY it doesn’t equal. So double points.
1 - -6 You are losing.
You don’t. Lie Ren is Asian-coded, heavily so, and his features and name all match. He’s not whitewashed, dead, a villain, or unimportant, so he gets a pass. We’re 1/6 on your supposedly poc characters right now.
And you're at -6 of your so called ‘right’ points. You ain’t one to talk.
Yatsuhashi Daichi is also very Asian-coded without being whitewashed, dead, or a villain. He is, however, incredibly unimportant. He smashed a few Grimm, got beat up by Mercury, and then no one had any more reason to care about him. He does not qualify for representation per the rules we laid out. 1/7.
Doesn’t matter
2 - -7
Aside from the fact that this is just as invalid as Blake was, I have some information from you: you can’t represent poc with white people that are abused and harassed. You can represent them with ethnic features that actually have more variety to them than the standard barrel of white characters allows. Velvet does not do that, so she does not qualify.
Doesn’t matter and you don’t explain why.
3 - -9
That almost becomes amusing, but doesn’t quite make it, considering you go on to try and tell me how those very white villains are also poc.
At any rate, her being a villain is absolutely important. Black people are tired of being the villains just like gay people are. That is nil for representation. It breaks the rule, so it doesn’t qualify.
Equality is equality bitch, there are white villians too.
So double points for double standards.
4 - -11
Sometimes I think I’m too confrontational and rude, and should make more of an effort to come across as nice rather than an asshole. Then this sort of dumbassery pops up and reminds me that I’m fine the way I am.
And yet I’m a racist for calling out your bigotry and lies.
First off, narrowed eyes are not an Asian trait. “Slanted” eyes are, and while Ren and Yatsuhashi have them, Tyrian does not. If this were an Asian trait, Mercury, Torchwick would also be Asian, and you pointedly did not list them. Narrowed eyes are a character designer’s way of saying that this person is a bit more serious than the more animesque or bubbly characters like the main team, who all have very large eyes that mimic the style. Long hair? That damn sure isn’t an Asian trait. Weiss, step forward.
Also, you dumbass, he’s white as fuck and, at best, is from Vacuo.
Also Fanaus
5 - -12
For reference ya’ll, since I removed the gif, here it is again so you can see Arthur Watts’ reflection in a dark, red, glassy orb that obviously doesn’t make him look darker than he actually is. That’s the gif rwdebitch chose to go with.
Actual good point.
5 - -11
Not to mention he’s from Atlas, which is so far coded as “land of white people and that one meme team who aren’t”. Here’s a gif of him next to Cinder in broad daylight.
two women on each edge are clearly not white so coding is bullshit.
In fact, why don’t we go ahead and take off a point for each use of the world ‘coding’ as an argument to showcase how bullshit it is?
5 - -17
Darker than her, admittedly, but that isn’t saying much. There’s also the fact that he’s coded as English. I’d say we could give him half a point, but he’s a villain. So he doesn’t qualify anyway. We’re 1/11 and the record is only going to get worse.
You’re right-
You just showed racism against mixed race people by your logic.
Also another instance of coding.
And you fail to explain how he’s English ‘coded.’
5 - -20
Hazel looks like my lumberjack uncle who visits seedy bars. Yeah, his skin is darker than others’….but he breaks the same rule that Tyrian, Watts, and Cinder do. In fact, why don’t I go ahead and say it: even if you were right about all these villains being POC (and literally the only villains you don’t try to twist POC are Torchwick, who’s dead, Neo, who’s gone, and Salem, who’s the color of snow), that would be worse. A team full of villains who want to wreck the world and they’re all nonwhite? No thank you.
You did Cinder a little later but I’m doing her early to match the other villains.
Don’t explain why, has show to be a liar and admits that the leader of the group of ‘non whites’ is white.
6 - -20
The only point you’re gonna get here is the part where Monty said that. Because no, narrow eyes, as we already pointed out on Tyrian, aren’t an Asian trait, and you’re confusing that for slanted eyes. Her costumes are no more influenced by Asian culture than the basketball shorts I’m wearing. But yes, despite her pale appearance, Monty did indeed imply she’s Asian.
She’s still a villain.
And guess what? Monty’s Asian. So it means he was fine with it, which goes to show your villain point flies in the face of what some people want.
And again, equality bitch.
7 - -22
He has a tan, you dumbass. He’s a Chinese-inspired character with a Chinese name, who looks like a surfer from California considering his blond hair, blue eyes, and coastal tan. Got all that? We call it “whitewashing”, so he breaks the rule, too.
Except many interpretations of Son Wukong portray him as light haired. Including other Japanese media.
Also not whitewashing because Sun is his own character.
AND he’s a fanaus so it STILL doesn’t matter.
8 - -25
Besides. He’s also unimportant as fuck, a fact I’m very upset about. All he’s around to be is Blake’s love interest, which is the only thing that saved him from vanishing into the void with his team, who haven’t been mentioned.
You know...
Aside from saving Blake against the WF in Volume 1...
And getting illa’s scroll in Volume 4...
And protecting Blake in Volume 5...
Huh, you seem pretty quick to devalue the efforts of minority characters.
1) I have a question for you–why do you keep saying all these pale people are dark-skinned?
2) HE’S FUCKING BLOND, WHITE, AND BLUE-EYED. SO YES, YOU’RE GONNA HAVE TO EXPLAIN THIS ONE TO ME. LOOK AT THE GIF DIRECTLY ABOVE THESE WORDS.
He’s whitewashed, so he breaks the rule.
Because minorities are all dark skinned! yep, Asians don’t exist at all!
8 - -26
Huh, I didn’t think Qrow had long hair. Or are you talking about another feature that blatantly isn’t Asian, on a white character?
Yeah, they said ‘non white’. Not the same thing. Point would have worked then.
On top of the fact that I already told you Raven is just a genderswapped Adam, I’m gonna blow your mind–she’s still white. Just like everyone else on this list. Is she a white-passing Asian? Perhaps, but considering all the other people who are white on this list you tried to tell me were Asian, I’m not gonna trust your judgment on that matter.
And considering you unironically used fucking white passing as an argument, you’re lucky I don’t just double the negative points you have.
Even missed out how their last name is Welsh.
8 - -27
Hmmmm, you’re gonna have to–because Flynt Coal is a character literally created after a meme, to be marginally important as an enemy for one episode and never be important again. Like all the Vytal Tournament characters. You could’ve done better by putting Arslan Altan on here–at least not only is her skin tone dark, but her style of dress and fighting are also eastern as well. She’d still fall into the same “unimportant” hole though.
And you’re gonna have to explain why I should care.
I didn’t care when shows like Boondocks and Black Dynamite did this to white people, why should I care here?
9 - -28
Ooh, this one is especially bad. Yeah, you got the dark-skinned part right, but guess what else he also is?
A villain
Dead
So he doesn’t pass, either!
So is Torchwick, who is white.
No dice.
10 - -30
Neptune is based on a Greek god! I hope you’re not another person who thinks Greeks aren’t white. Because they are. I’ll admit to him being darker-skinned, but that doesn’t look so good considering how we outlined Sun being whitewashed and still tanned.
You can make a case for him being Asian-coded based on how he’s Sun’s partner and the original Sun Wukong’s partner was also, obviously, Chinese. But that’s about it. A reach at best, whitewashing at worst.
He’s also never been important, in the scale of the small plots or the large one. He fails on two fronts. So he doesn’t represent either.
Exact opposite of what OP was saying.
Coded penalty.
And not explained.
11 - -33
I’m neither, thanks. But I also don’t look to characters who got one line, never got to do anything of importance, and whose only moment to shine was against a stationary opponent who couldn’t move, for representation. I don’t think most poc RWBY fans would, either.
No, calling you dumb is an insult to dumb people. You’re willfully ignorant.
Also: I considering the number of people who love Sage, you’re wrong. Oh and seeing as you tried speaking for my best friend, double points.
You are right. I could make a case for him being unimportant, since he basically exists literally for white Ozpin to project himself from, but as far as RWBY goes, he doesn’t break any of the rules. Record is so far 2/20. One tenth of the characters you’ve proposed to be poc representation actually are poc representation.
A. Ozpin has no race since he takes on the race of whoever he inhabits.
And B. You’re at 12 - -34. They are 46 points ahead of you.
She’s also a villain who nearly kills one of the other supposedly-poc characters here. She doesn’t pass. Nor does she pass as LGBT rep, for the same reasons. 2/21.
Doesn’t explain why on either end.
13 - -36
If you reach any further, you’ll touch God himself. [clears throat]
YOU CAN’T SAY THAT A PALE-SKINNED CHARACTER WHO MIGHT HAVE EYES THAT ARE SLANTED IF WE SOMEDAY SEE WHAT HIS FACE LOOKS LIKE, IS POC. THAT’S LIKE SAYING HEY, SUN MIGHT NOT BE STRAIGHT, SO HE’S GAY REPRESENTATION!
And I already outlined why race parallel =/= poc representation, so please stop using that as your platform
And I explained how that’s jackshit. still doesn’t work/
14 - -38
Right you are! It’s a shame she got killed off without a fight 5 minutes after her interesting introduction, a move that incited so much anger she got a posthumous fight scene that was busy trying to salvage someone else’s character.
She’s dead. Guess what that means? Representation test failed!
And Roman is dead too. As are a lot of white characters. Guess what that means? Doesn’t count!
15 - -40
His eyes look the same as every other heroic character’s eyes you dim-witted motherfucker, now quit hurting your arm like tha
Qrow.
Out of the twenty-three characters you listed, most of them were white as snow and their gifs were immediately followed by reaching and twisting to try to make them non-white representation, which doesn’t work. Out of the twenty-three characters listed, only two actually were nonwhite without falling into one of the pitfalls laid out at the beginning.
And of the pitfalls you listed, none were explained and all of which white characters also fell into as well so it still works.
You also disregard all but two fanaus characters for skin color despite them being the minority equivalent in Remnant.
Rooster Teeth is looking pretty damn racist. Now go away.
Actually you came out of this looking racist, especially for bitching at RT for them treating minority characters like all other characters.
Or can white supremacists call racism over white characters dying now?
Despite OP being a newbie, you completely lost. You fell into every pitfall they did and didn’t but even fucking harder. Congrats, in yoru own words, a reaching dumbass can beat you in an argument.

yay 20 questions!
I was tagged by the wonderful @valpre! Thank you for tagging me! I absolutely adore your gameplay pics!
okay now under the cut because im a rambler
Name: My grandmother named me Elizabeth and my mom named me Lillian. I go by both / either / or.
Nicknames: I’m gonna go by age I was called those names because I have lots. When I was a baby my family called me “Boo-berry”, by kindergarten I was just Beth, in middle school I went by Liz or Libby, and in high school I got the nickname LiLi from a friend, which is what I introduce myself as now. Woofta.
Zodiac sign: Sagittarian-Cusp-Capricorn (12/20)
Height: oh probably like 5′7″ or 8″.
Orientation: Pansexual
Ethnicity: I love this question because I really have to think about it, but i also hate it because I’m an american which makes this question weird since we treat race and ethnicity differently than everywhere else lol. I’m a biracial Black woman, but that’s my race. Because of my experience though I would have to say my ethnicity is white. The parts of Ohio I’ve lived in are pretty homogenous.
Favorite fruit: I don’t usually eat fruit but when I do it’s plantains. I also like watermelon and oranges.
Favorite season: Fall and spring. I like the transitional months because while it’s not particularly hot in ohio, it can be very humid and my hair does not like that.
Favorite book series: tbh I’m a terrible reader. There’s so many I want to read but haven’t even begun to pick up yet. The last series I finished was Harry Potter, but I’ve always had a place in my heart for the the Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld. I have dreams about Tally and I read that book when I was like 12. I’m also a Holly Black fan, the Tithe series made me love faries.
Favorite flower: I like peonies and orchids and lavender
Favorite scent: I love incense and wax melts and i always get sandalwood and the incense that comes in the blue package? i cant find any of mine or I would tell you what it was lol I also like the smell of burning sage.
Favorite color: I only wear purple, teal, and black. I base my wardrobe on Saints Row aesthetics lmao
Favorite animal: my dog Odin. He was my husband’s dog when I met him but now he’s mine. Z hates that Odin likes me more, but I’m a light sleeper so I wake up when Odin needs things unlike his dad. He’s a sweet little guy- beagle, pug, lab mix. He looks like a large beagle with a silly curly tail and I love him. I also have a ferret but she is not my favorite animal. She’s a rude meanie-butt who likes to start fights over nothing so she’s named after Stinkmeaner from the boondocks. It fits.
Coffee, tea, or hot cocoa: Mocha. Oh yes.
Average sleep hours: I always sleep exactly 8 hours when I can. If I have trouble sleeping, I can’t lay in bed waiting to go back to sleep so then I’m just up. I can survive on 3-5 hours, but I am not a pleasant person when I don’t get sleep.
Cat or dog person? Dog. Cats are cool cause they don’t mess with you if you don’t mess with them, but I like that dogs are more friendly off the bat.
Favorite fictional characters: I have a lot, tbh, but the past few weeks I’ve been kind of obsessed with Sansa and Arya and Brienne because I’m rewatching GOT. I also have lots of questions about Bellatrix and Trelawny and I think about them a lot.
Number of blankets you sleep with: usually just one, but i change my bedding with the season. In the winter I have this big fluffy comforter and in the summer I use an old quilt my granma gave me.
Dream trip: I’d like to go on the game of thrones trip - go visit all the shooting locations, but especially ireland and malta. When I saw pics of malta that showed that they didn’t use very much staging when they filmed there makes my heart sing. I love history and it’s such a cool place because it was taken by so many different people at different times that now its such an eclectic country with different styles of architecture and stuff? and i really feel like the best way to learn about a place is to go there soooo.
Blog created: this one? This month, but I’ve been tumblring for about 6 years now and simblring for about 1.
Number of followers: 53 beautiful, wonderful simmers. <3 And this one ugly bitc- oh wait that’s just my main blog. :)
Heyyy! that was fun! I told you I’m a rambler!
I feel like at this point it might be time to get another question meme going around so I’m not gonna tag anyone specifically (also to hide this as much as possible lol) but please, if you want to do it, do it! I tag you!

I've never met a black person in real life who has shared the same opinions as the people on here who are black, and I know that's less "black sjws don't go outside into the *real* world" and more a mix of "black people are a ridiculously diverse group of people and it's incredibly stupid and racist to expect all of them to all think the same way" and "I've never left the american midwest so my experiences are not universal and I only know maybe 0.01% of the people in the world at the absolute highest and all of them live in the same geographical area". but this has sparked a question I'm curious to know the answer to (and god knows I can't trust anything I find on google because the internet is hell when it comes to finding info on antiblack racism and such). exactly why is it bad for black people (who are okay with it) to let their white friends say the n word? why do so many black tumblr bloggers say that it's bad for all black people when they do that because it perpetuates and enforces the oppressive white supremacist power structure by allowing whites to use slurs that undermine black culture and reclamation if not every black person in the world is uncomfortable by white people saying it in a non-pejorative context? why is there a lot of hate for childish gambino and kevin hart because they've mentioned that the n word should be used by everyone so that it loses its power as a slur [well I mean they are rich and famous but as we all saw from lebron james, money and fame don't protect you from racism]? why is there a disconnect between the black people who say tiger woods, bill cosby, tyga, chris brown, oj simpson, and other similar celebrities have 'lost their black card' as I've seen it phrased, and the black people who say that the bad things they've [allegedly] done don't and shouldn't take away from their racial culture and heritage and denying it from them is racist [aside from factoring in misogynoir and, again, all of them being celebrities]? why do some black people encourage discourse like "white people shouldn't say 'my dude' because it's a watered down form of saying 'my n*gga'" and "ending posts with people's names is a black people only meme and whites need to stop because they're being racist" but others say that those are both bullshit? why do some black people make jokes about not having seen the breakfast club and stand by me and sixteen candles and the sandlot and napoleon dynamite and not liking rock music because they're black and those are "white people things", but some think that it's super racist to segregate pieces of media by color like that because plenty of white people watched barbershop and straight outta compton and friday and boondocks and listen to hip hop and are excited to see black panther, and plenty of black people enjoy the "white people things" I listed, and get angry when they see anybody do or say things suggesting that certain movies or whatever are excluded from certain races of people based solely on the fact that they're members of X race? why do some black people follow W.E.B. dubois' pan-african movement whereas other black people want to distinguish each african country from the other because each country has its own heritage and culture? why do some black people say africa doesn't need the world's pity help while others say africa is impoverished and colonialized and destroyed by western white christianity and has huge water shortages and malaria outbreaks and homophobia powerful enough that they still sentence gays to death and needs as much help as it can get? why do some black people express discomfort when other black people use the n word casually amongst themselves while others say it a hundred times a day or more? why do some black people actively enjoy being assholes to white people and whiteness in general [sort of like how I'm a dick to cishets, christians, and neurotypicals] while other black people say being an asshole to white people is just as bad because you're no better than them [which is of course bullshit but I'm not gonna tell a black person that they're wrong about a racial issue to their face because then I really am just a racist asshole, or at least I think I would be]? is the answer really as simple as "black people all just have different opinions from each other"? and if that's so, is there truly a 'correct' opinion for a white person to have that isn't "stay out of black people's business because it isn't your place"? because staying in my lane does a lot more good for me than trying to pry or butt in or engage in conversation about racial issues so I just wanna make sure that's the right call to make. but then again, silence is violence and I don't wanna turn a blind eye to the prejudice and oppression and bigotry our society is rooted in that fucks over and even kills black people every single day. basically I don't know what the fuck to do or how to act or what to say or how to feel without being a racist to some person or another, and I don't even know if me asking these questions is racist or not because I'm not sure if I should just *know* the answers by virtue of having common sense [which I mean I have autism so I can't do that but using that as an excuse for ignorance is probably also racist]. god, I'm still traumatized from all those hate anons I got a few months ago and I want so badly to be a good White Ally™ and not be a racist and make anybody uncomfortable but it seems like if I do or say one thing to appease one group of people it just pisses off another group of people, and I just wanna fucking know what the morally correct thing to do or say or be is. I mean I know it's definitely not being right-wing or conservative or republican because every single one of those people are stupid racist asshats, but knowing what not to do is very different from knowing what to do. so like, if anyone can help explain these things to me I would really appreciate it because I'm sick as fuck of these goddamn guilt spirals because of fear that someone will think I'm racist. which I mean, I know I will be regardless because it's how my dad tried to bring me up, and also because I heavily benefit from white privilege, but I wanna reduce my racism carbon footprint as much as physically possible. and if anyone is a dick to me about this, I'm just gonna fucking block you because I ain't got TIME for that shit.
