Long, overdue good news: Negro League statistics will be integrated into MLB historical record!

Stats from the more than 2,300 players from seven iterations of the Negro Leagues from 1920-1948 will be included in the MLB’s database — including legend and Baseball Hall of Famer Josh Gibson, who will become the single-season record holder in batting average, slugging percentage, and OPS. Previous record holders for those three categories were Barry Bonds, Ty Cobb, and Babe Ruth.

Bobby Bonds

Noted for his combination of power hitting and speed, he was the first player to have more than two seasons of 30 home runs and 30 stolen bases, doing so a record five times ( the record was matched only by his son Barry) and was the first to accomplish the feat in both major leagues. He became the second player to hit 300 career home runs and steal 300 bases, joining Willie Mays.

Born Bobby Lee Bonds on March 15, 1946 in Riverside, California and died on August 23, 2003 in San Carlos, California at the age of 57.

well now i'm thinking about barry bonds and how furious that whole thing makes me

he did not commit perjury, he was lied to by his personal trainer.

and then the typo from the prosecutors that he tested positive for steroids when, in fact, the tests came back negative. but the media got hold of the positive, ran with it, and that was the end of his career.

the fact that he's still not in the hall of fame is a crime. how do you hold the home run record in 12 fewer years than the previous record holder and not be in the hall of fame?
