two-frame animation tutorial
as per @belovedrat 's request So!! I use firealpaca for this because it has the animation mode. you CAN use your normal software, it just requires a little more opacity adjusting to check your work. anywoozle, step 1: sketch
Tumblr media
(ignore how i put the ref in the layers instead of opening a reference window first up, and how I forgot platelet's horn) your sketch should be for both frames, and keep in mind what is and isn't in each frame when you do line art. turn on animation mode, under 'animation'.
Tumblr media
also turn on "always display the first frame" (your sketch) this is so you can keep some consistency between frames.
I prefer hand drawing each frame rather than copying lineart and just changing what moves (or in this case, what speech bubble is visible). this gives it a kind of shakey look which I think gives that little more life instead of looking stiff. next it's folder time!
Tumblr media
~ you can name them or not hehe firealpaca animation mode treats folders and everything in them as separate frames, so you can check how your animation looks using the "autoplay" feature (in the animation menu) and now you can colour!
Tumblr media
I like to do the colours on one frame and then copy the layer into the other frame, fixing it up.
Tumblr media
it's helpful to put in a black or grey background to spot the colour bleeding outside the lines. you can turn animation mode off also if it helps, you should also turn it off for the next step:
Tumblr media
if you want a transparent background*, it helps to have a white outline, and adding drips is a personal thing I like to do :3
Tumblr media
don't forget to hide the folders and fill it in also remember to add your artist tag at some point (I forgot initially oops) *if you don't want a transparent background, firealpaca has a built-in export as gif feature that makes the steps below unnecessary.
you can now hide the background and export one frame at a time (remember to save as transparent and name them the same thing with frame 1 and frame 2 respectively)
and then you can go to a website like ezgif, upload your files, recommended settings:
Tumblr media
then click 'make a gif!' and save the resulting image.
Tumblr media
boom! donezo! Platelet can now infodump about the immune system all he wants!!!
(you can totally add more frames by the way, just makes exporting them a pain and you probably want to make a folder.)

Daaamn non-celiac gluten free people really piss me off sometimes. In one of my fb groups we have a PREGNANT person with celiac asking where to get some gf Chinese, and all these people are recommending places that have "gluten free/friendly menus" but are NOT 100% gluten free restaurants. I'm seeing PF Changs mentioned multiple times which really smarts because I have never failed to be horrifically and violently ill whenever I've eaten off their gf menu.
GLUTEN CAN CAUSE MISCARRIAGES IN THOSE WHO ARE PREGNANT AND HAVE CELIAC. If you intend to keep your pregnancy and you have celiac, you absolutely, 100% CANNOT take your chances with cross contamination from a restaurant that is not 100% gluten free. (source)
Hell I even saw Fire Wok in Arbutus mentioned and as much as I love and trust them, I wouldn't order from them if I were pregnant because they're not 100% gluten free and it only takes a little bit of gluten just one time to have dire health consequences

All You Need To Know About Liquid Malt Extract
Liquid malt extract is made from malted barley that has been germinated and dried. The dried malt is then ground up and mixed with water, which starts the fermentation process. This liquid is then used in a variety of food and drink recipes. It's a popular ingredient for home brewers, as it's a key ingredient in brewing. It's also used to make beer, whisky, vodka, and other spirits. It's such an essential ingredient that most distilleries have their malting floors where they germinate and dry the barley. In the market, many malted barley powder manufacturers are available. The blog provides tips for choosing the best for your needs.
Tumblr media
How To Use Liquid Malt Extract In Brewing?
Malt extract liquid in India is a crucial ingredient in all-grain brewing. This amber-colored liquid extracts the sugar and flavor from malted grains. It's then boiled to evaporate the water, and the resulting thick syrup is bottled or canned. Liquid malt extract is sold in either pre-hopped or unhopped form. You'll need the pre-hopped variety if you're using extract to make beer with a kit. However, if you're brewing an all-grain beer, you'll need to add hops to the boil yourself.
The Process Of Making Liquid Malt Extract
Making liquid malt extract (LME) involves a few steps. First, malted grains are milled and then steeped in hot water to extract the sugars, enzymes, and other soluble compounds. The sweet liquid is separated from the grain husks and boiled to remove excess water and create a syrup-like consistency. Once the syrup is cooled, it is filtered to separate any remaining grain matter before it's bottled or packaged for shipping. It's important to note that malt extract powder can be made using either barley or wheat, but they're not interchangeable since they have different flavor profiles.
Conclusion
When brewing your beer, liquid malt extract is one of the essential ingredients. Here's what you need to know about it. Liquid malt extract is made from malted barley. It means it contains all of the barley's natural sugars and flavors. Second, liquid malt extract is an excellent source of fermentable sugars. It means that it can be used to make beer that is both flavorful and alcoholic. And last, liquid malt extract is easy to use. Add it to your homebrew recipe, and you're ready to go. So, if you're looking for a great ingredient in your homebrew recipe, liquid malt extract is a great choice.
