متاعِ بے بہا: نہایت قیمتی سرمایہ۔ درد و سوز: انتہائی آہ و زاری اور سوز کے ساتھ دعا کرنا۔ آرزومندی: شدید خواہش کا اظہار مقام بندگی: اللہ کی اطاعت اور بندگی کا مقام ۔ شانِ خداوندی: اللہ کی شان کے مقابل

مطلب:اس شعر میں علامہ اقبال فرماتے ہیں کہ انسان کے لیے سب سے قیمتی دولت اللہ کے ساتھ عشق اور اس کے قرب کی تڑپ ہے۔ یہ وہ آرزو ہے جو دنیا کی کسی بھی مادی دولت سے زیادہ اہم اور قیمتی ہے۔ بندگی کا مقام، یعنی اللہ کی عبدیت، اتنی عظیم ہے کہ اس کے بدلے میں خداوندی (اللہ جیسی شان و عظمت) بھی قبول نہیں کی جا سکتی۔

اقبال یہاں عبدیت کی عظمت کو بیان کرتے ہیں، جو اتنی بلند ہے کہ اللہ نے خود اپنے محبوب نبی ﷺ کے لیے "عبدہ و رسولہ" (یعنی اس کے بندے اور رسول) کا مقام عطا کیا۔ اقبال فرماتے ہیں کہ بندہ بننے کی عزت میرے لیے خدا کی شان حاصل کرنے سے زیادہ عزیز اور عظیم ہے۔

Gone were the days of prideful founders and come were the days of unsatisfied descendants who itched and yearned for more. The validity of the Goddess and mortal’s union was a greatly disputed matter, and factions rose that rejected the Faith, and the throne with it.

A Noon upon the throne was no longer a sign of stability for the realm, rather a mockery of those who kept it alight with no reward. Crimson rivulets trickled into Adilistan, carrying with them whispers of illegitimacy and caucuses that disputed behind closed doors the claims and rights of House Noon.
