Hakata Tonkatsu Ramens nonsense (BanLin, I guess)

"Say, Lin-chan, how do you feel about trying something new?"

"Not my style," he stated after a quick glance at it.

"'That was the hope," said Banba with a serene smile, and took the dress in order to hold it up against Lin's frame. "Oginome Hikaru-san wants to know if her husband’s mistress is after his money. I need you to make friends."

"I don't want to make friends with Oginome Hikaru-san."

"No, with Hida-san, the mistress. Oginome-san's husband has booked a romantic getaway at Fujigoko. Oginome-san thought it would be a good chance to find out."

"And then we kill her?"

"Oh no," said Banba, and handed Lin the dress, "I’m just investigating. Oginome-san worries her husband will be swindled. If Hida-san isn't going to cause trouble, she's prepared to let him carry on. It'll be a lot more convincing for me to make friends with them if I'm also on a romantic getaway. Try it on."

“The hotel better be good," Lin muttered as he strode into Banba's bathroom to change.

The fabric was soft and light, the working clearly expensive. The colour was subtle, the length modest, the neckline absolutely respectable as it would hide his just-too-sharp clavicle.

The hotel is great," Banba informed him, and Lin startled at the feeling of the zipper being expertly tugged.

Six months ago, he’d have a knife against the throat of any fool who pulled his zipper without being explicitly asked, but he’d been domesticated enough to turn his back to Banba without any blades within reach.

I don't know if it was the intent but Meliodas sounded really condescending when ordering Merlin to take responsability for her action. Like, it was clear that she was ALREADY taking responsability for it, the bad like the good and had intented on guiding Arthur to help him with his power. I don't know, I didn't really like the way Mel talked to (and of) her. Whereas I understand King pov because he was like that with Mel too. I loved that Ban defended her though! I didn't expect that from him.

Originally I was answering this anon and the last one as with a single post but it got way too long and multi-parted so here we are.

Yes, it’s a bit of a dick move for Meliodas to be condescending to Merlin like that, but also think of this:  he’s disciplining her like an older brother would. His response to Merlin acting in a stupid, selfish, even childish way about this whole situation is to treat her like the baby she was. I will draw your attention to the panel where he suddenly appears to rescue her--that exact setup is how they first met. 

Basically, Meliodas is her mentor and although their relationship has grown well beyond that in the past three thousand years, he’s still taking that position with her here. And since they’ve known each other so long and he’s disappointed with her, he’s very stern and straightforward about it.

ALSO Ban & Merlin’s is actually one of my favorite background relationships. Ban drinks his Respect Women Juice always but he seriously admires Merlin. It’s apparent in two instances in particular: asking to fight during Edinburgh (note that one of the only other people he challenges is Meliodas; it’s a huge gesture of respect from him), and then his massive grin and smug chuckles when she swooped in to fight Grayroad and Fraudrin (every other human was like “?!?!” and Ban’s obviously thinking “Hell yeah that’s my teammate!”). She obviously enjoys teasing him, and she senses that they’re both ghosts of people lost out of time (remember, she picked out all the Sins, so she knows approximately what happened with the Fountain). They’re Buddies. It’s so great.
