Theory Time
Honestly, I really like finding details in openings and endings. The first things I noticed while watching the new opening of High Card was this:
Tumblr media
If we go by the clothes, this is Ban Klondike and he is in possession of the Joker. So there does exist one. We will probably get to know this through the new season but it still a nice detail in the opening.
Another thing is this in the ending:
Tumblr media
We can see three people sitting at a table, drinking and playing cards. These are probably Ban Klondike (front), Theodore Constantine Pinochle (left) and Greg Young (back). As we already got told in the first season, these three have known each other for a long time.
Tumblr media
BUT! If you look at at the ending picture in more detail you can see four people. Only the hands of the fourth person (right) can be seen tho. So this leads to the question: Who is this? We will probably get to know this in some time, still here is a theory:
What if this fourth person is the father of Finn? Wide stretch, I know, but listen. In the second episode of the first season, after High Card captured Finn, they suddenly employ him. There is no definite reason said why, but they offer to take him in. While working he can earn money and be protected from other people that are after his card. It‘s also possible they do that because they need more people to help collecting cards but why take some random boy then. Any why protect him? I think they could just have taken his card and that‘s it. But the order to make him an employe came from above, from Theodore. Later on the phone he tells Bernard to fire him if he is useless, but still. Maybe he is doing an old friend a favor or there is more behind it.
Another one is this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
At the end of episode 5 of the first season, Greg views Finns profile. He is not that expressive but it still looks like is thinking about something. Is his name familiar? Maybe he reminds him of someone?
Well, that‘s more or less it. It‘s been a while and I haven‘t fully rewatched the first season yet but these are the things I noticed and kept thinking about. Take it with a grain of salt. I also haven‘t really dived into all the other materials available about High Card. Maybe after a rewatch I‘ll add stuff or come up with different theories.
Thank you for listening to my rambling and feel free to add more or other hints :)

It stresses me out how there is no hetero explanation between Ban Klondike and Theodore Pinochle
Tumblr media
Let me say the moment I realized that they were the first gen “buddies” AND A BLACK AND WHITE DUO. I was filled with so much grief. Old black and white duos never end on a bad note, they end on the worst note possible. And did anyone pick up on the fact that Theodore died by the black knights hand even with an x-hand. Him telling Ban that he’ll know his every move and thought BUT STILL DYING. Like was it because he can only focus on one thing OR he made it so he can only see Ban. Maybe I’m just thinking too deep and delusional. They made me so emotional is all.

FINAL EPISODE HIGH CARS
SPOILERS FOR HIGH CARD.
THAT WAS VERY EMOTIONAL FOR MEOH GOSH
ig i was right with flann dying, although the end sequence wants to imply that it's not confirmed so that's one thing, and it kinda seems to me that there will be a season3 based on the fact that everything is technically in shambles still and i read from somewhere that a lot of the cards haven't been found yet although i wouldn't trust my judgement. I said something like "i don't want flann to die bcs chris' plot is all about saving his sister s why should finn kill his brother" i meant that in a sense that if finn doesn'tt rlly care that he has to kill his brother and so the way the anime went with the shooting was great for me.
i especially love the scene where bernard said "Tilt- no, Flann Oldman." it's a really good scene. And Flann and Burst's tombstone:(( its a shame that they died without truly resolving their problems "together as family" is what's written( ithink ) I rlly think flann is dead bcs of this, because he's already with Burst and that really looks like a good enough ending for me. But as to reasons why he's probably alive well,
first is bcs its "uncomfirmed" that he died, bernard pointed that out. second is probably because he walked with Lala Valdenklein in the end, and we all know that Lala isn't exactly dead he just doesn't have a physical body all the time but he's still there.
I also genuinely hope that they let Finn hold on to San Galgano, at least for a while. It's also \crazy how much Flann really loved Finn, Finn wanted a card and Flann gave him a real one, although it was the reason for their separation the sentiment was good nonetheless
what saddens me though is what the royal family did, blaming it on the klondikes again. I get why they would do that but to claim that Ban Klondike died there is crazy to me because that is so terrible. It's hiding the fact that he died somewhere they're trying to hide.
Overall this show was awesome and cool, there were a few scenes that made me want to see more bcs they felt lacking but the main plot was incredible. im srsly hoping for season 3

did u finish s2. what are your thoughts on the ending im sooooo curious. i have a whole write up i did when i finished it i wanna know what u thought
It was so fun !! I liked that Finn committed to killing Flann. Like thinking about how many shows where the bond of blood trumps all but Finn stared his tortured possessed brother in the eyes and pulled the trigger. Thinking about how Chris is everything Finn needs. I loved Ban Klondike risking it all for Thedore. And as always the funniest gag in the show is Chris hitting people with his damn car

High Card Opening 2 Analysis
Here I‘ll list some details and interesting scenes that appear in the Opening:
Tumblr media
Ban Klondike holding the Joker.
Tumblr media
In the background, we see a father happily walking with his son. Perhaps this refers to sth between Leo and Theodore's relationship.
Tumblr media
Similarly, in Chris's scene, a young man and woman are walking in the background. This could hint at either him and Michelle or him and Chelsea.
Tumblr media
The traffic light abruptly changes from green to red here.
Tumblr media
Here we see Theodore, Ban, and Owen walking past each other. At the last moment, Owen keeps glancing in Ban's direction.
Tumblr media
Bernard is hitting the counter with his fist, appearing deeply frustrated or desperate.
Tumblr media
Burst attempts to reach out to Tilt, but she hesitates midway. She seems unsure yet still caring about him.
Tumblr media
Lala watching over Fourland.
Tumblr media
Finn and Chris are depicted fighting back to back. Their shadows form a clockwise and counterclockwise motion respectively. As they maneuver, their shadows also shift accordingly. While I'm uncertain of its exact significance, it seems to relate to Chris. It's not as simple as his time running out, as that would imply forward movement. Instead, it moves backwards.

Several upcoming scenes prominently feature clocks and clock-related items. This likely indicates the importance of time in general. It may also suggest Finn attempting to recall his childhood or hint at a time-related ability.

Ban doesn't show it, but he feels like the biggest dumb dumb baby man ever with Theo revealing how much he treasured Ban, so instead he turns back time to save Theo instead of doing more villainous shit--*cries harder*
I am so abnormal about them i am going to cry q-q
I, surprisingly, have no thoughts about this episode except my old man yaoi was SO old man yaoi-ing

THERE WAS NOT A SINGLE HETEROSEXUAL THING ABOUT THIS SCENE. OR THIS ENTIRE PART OF THE EPISODE
