Mizuto Irido is in an unconventional predicament. His father remarried! That’s not the crazy part though. With the addition of a stepmother comes the addition of a step-sister. And that step-sister happens to be Mizuto’s ex-girlfriend from middle school, Yume Ayai (now Irido). Neither Mizuto nor Yume are digging this new setup. For starters, their prior relationship ended badly so neither one looks upon the other favorably. But both are going to put up a happy face to not upset their parents.

While they put up a happy face around their parents, everywhere else they get snippy with each other. And the biggest part is both of them claiming they are the older sibling. Kinda hard when both characters were born on the same day and year! But Mizuto and Yume both play mind games with each other to make the other feel inferior. Call it a poor-man’s Kaguya-sama! Okay, let’s see how these dysfunctional step-siblings mess with each other.

BETWEEN THE SUB AND THE DUB: This is currently airing on Crunchyroll. It’s been nearly a year and so far, no dub to come from it. I still enjoyed myself hearing people like Hiro Shimono and Miyu Tomita. Here’s what you might recognize these folks from.

*Mizuto is played by Hiro Shimono (known for Zenitsu on Demon Slayer, Connie on Attack on Titan, Dabi on My Hero Academia, Aoba on Durarara, Syo on UtaPri, Akihisa on Baka and Test, and Hiro on Ef: a tale of memories)

*Yume is played by Rina Hidaka (known for Filo on Shield Hero, Silica on SAO, Last Order on Railgun, Ririchiyo on Inu x Boku SS, Kohane on xxxHOLiC, Nemesis on To Love Ru, and Yamai on Komi-san)

SHIPPING: Mizuto and Yume had a prior relationship during their middle school years, but they broke things off and had quite the bitter resentment towards each other in the aftermath. Nowadays, it feels like they have a Kaguya-sama: Love is War mind game relationship, but they’re step-siblings instead of student council members. It’s not going to sound any crazier if I say it again. They have to act normal or concede defeat and be the little brother or sister in this relationship. But we do get some naughty moments between these two including unsettling scenes with the other’s undergarment.

Now what I didn’t see coming was with this friend of Yume’s, Minami. She loves Yume so much that she is willing to marry Mizuto so she can be closer to Yume. I am not sure what to make of this and I don’t feel I have the strength to deal with her. I’m just going to tell myself that Minami will end up with that other idiot in this series. I forget his name.

And then there’s Higashira! She posed a real threat to Yume, yet Yume ends up trying to help the girl out with getting closer to Mizuto and eventually confessing to him. Did it work out for Higashira? Fuck naw! Dude has other priorities in the love department and we all know what he wants.

Now, this series does show how the main duo fell in love and fell apart. They became a couple during their middle school years with some seemingly cute moments here and there. It’s just that when school, friends, and real life interfere, things took a turn for the worst for this relationship. And watching it, kinda made me feel annoyed. I’m not taking anyone’s side in this as I feel like both Yume and Mizuto are at fault for different reasons. But I’d like to chalk this up to both of these idiots were in middle school. They’re both hella immature at that age. Though, they both do stupid stuff during high school. Then again, it’s only been a year between both times.

ENDING: Before the ending, we caught a glimpse of what went down between Yume and Mizuto during their relationship. What happened and who was the first to mess up? Actually, it went south during their final year of middle school when both were placed in separate classes. After that, Yume made new friends and Mizuto was kinda resentful towards her. Then, Yume got jealous once when Mizuto talked to another female classmate. This was followed by months and months of the two not speaking to each other resulting in an agreement of breaking up. It was obvious that BOTH OF THEM regret not speaking up during that time. It becomes very obvious that’s how Yume was during a family reunion. They both have a momentary lapse of judgment and go back in time for a few minutes.

The final episode revolved around a summer festival. This is something Yume and Mizuto have history with as they were both together for one. We get constant flashbacks of their past fling and one flash that’s thrown at us several times is Yume crying alone because she got lost and Mizuto finds her. In this episode, it goes the other way around as Mizuto hides from his family and finds something solitary. Yume finds him and she kinda makes a decision. It looks like she wants to win Mizuto over as Yume Irido instead of her past self of Yume Ayai. Yeah, they kiss. They still act like they’re the older sibling and bicker. But is there something there? We probably will never know unless we get a second season.

This was something I wasn’t expecting. I came in thinking that this was going to be as trashy as Domestic Girlfriend. I come out feeling like I watched the first 13 episodes of Marmalade Boy if it was taking lessons from Kaguya-sama. As of now, both the manga and the light novel are still in publication so there’s still more to come from Yume and Mizuto. However, the manga, light novel, and anime were mostly seen as just an okay story. That’s how I’m at with this anime. It was okay. Had some good parts. Got annoyed seeing their middle school split-up. Okay, I’m starting to sound old and bitter here. Probably because I went through something similar at a younger age and look back upon it with a thick layer of cringe. That and I’m at that age where I see this and scream, “you damn youngins, get the fuck over it”. Or something like that! Decide for yourselves if you want to sit through this series or not. It’s a short series to get through.

Pairing: Nico x Thea from 576 Hours With You (MedTech on Duty, #2)

Prompt: Fluff Bingo - Cuddling

After a few weeks in med school, Nico concludes that med school is draining. If he was not doing it for his late father, he'd easily give this up. Pwedeng-pwede naman siyang magtrabaho bilang medtech na lang. He's licensed anyway.

Every weekend, Nico makes sure that he spends time with Thea. After his first finals week, he felt like his energy has been drained. He really wants to see Thea right now but her unit seems too far away.

Sa sobrang pagod ni Nico, kahit isang tawag lang kay Thea, napangiti na siya agad. "Hello, babe," malambing na matamlay niyang bati.

"Oh, mukhang pagod ka ah? Saan ka, babe?" pansin ni Thea.

"Nasa school pa," sagot niya sabay simangot, as if Thea could even see it.

"Date tayo?" aya nito. Bumagsak ang balikat ni Nico sa narinig niya. As much as possible, he wanted to rest right now. Baka makatulog pa siya sa labas kung itutuloy nila 'tong date na 'to.

On the other hand, Nico also wants to spend time with her. So, he requested, "Pwede bang stay-in muna tayo?"

"That's the plan, babe," Thea confirms. Napabuntong-hininga naman si Nico sa narinig. "I know you're tired. Anyway, labas ka sa main gate. Malapit na ako d'yan."

Nanlaki ang mga mata ni Nico sa narinig niya. "Did you bring your car?"

"Yes, babe." Kakabili lang ng pamilya ni Thea ng kotse para sa kanya. It's her parents' advance birthday gift on her 25th birthday. Since Thea had her own car, mas madalas na rin nitong napupuntahan si Nico sa Fairview.

After a few minutes, Nico saw a familiar car. The window rolls down and he sees the only person that could boost his energy. He automatically smiles at her when he sees her sweet smile. It melted all his troubles away, just like that.

Nico wasted no more time and rode on to the passenger seat. Isang ngiti lang sa kanya ni Thea, nadagdagan na agad ng ten percent ang energy niya. Thea's face softened when she saw his tired and weary face. She cupped his face and planted a kiss on his cheek. Twenty-five percent.

Since Nico was too tired to tell about his week, Thea just told him stories of her week. She told him about that one cranky patient they had at the laboratory, the influx of laboratory tests they had to perform, and one of her lab techs who has a crush with one of their co-workers in the lab. Forty percent.

Thea has always been quiet but whenever they're alone together, he's able to experience a side of hers that only he knows. It's like Thea has been keeping all these stories inside her head and she has been just waiting for someone to tell of those. He's glad that he gets to hear most of the stories she wanted to tell.

Buong biyahe nila pauwi ay nagkwento lang si Thea. Her stories were too interesting for Nico to sleep even if he was already tired. Parang nadadagdagan pa nga yung energy niya dahil doon.

Pagkarating nila sa unit ni Thea, agad na naligo si Nico para pwede na siyang magpahinga pagkatapos. After that quick shower, he's surprised to see Thea preparing his clothes and food. "Are you hungry or do you want to sleep first?"

"Aren't we going to watch your favorite series?" he asked while changing his clothes.

"E 'di ba pagod ka?"

He flashed the same smile that Thea has loved from the beginning. "Kanina pa ako nagpapahinga... simula nung nakasama kita." Thea pursed her lips, trying to stop herself from smiling. "We could cuddle while watching your show and eating what you prepared. Gawin natin sabay-sabay para mas mabilis akong makapag-recharge."

Nico climbed on the bed and waited for Thea to jump in. He got the remote and selected her favorite K-drama, Hospital Playlist. Wala na ring nagawa si Thea kung hindi ay samahan si Nico sa kama. His arms instantly snaked around her waist and quickly kissed her cheek. "Food and sleep are good sources of energy, but you're still my favorite energy booster."

Thea placed her arms around him, which brought him comfort and warmth. Aanhin pa niya ang pagkain at tulog kung yakap pa lang ni Thea, higit pa sa sapat? One hundred percent.

Math Project - Blog

My Math 3 second quarter learning journey has been a series of hardships. The concepts were all jumbled up in my brain, especially for the first LT which I’ll say is the hardest Mathematics test I’ve ever done in my entire life.

The concepts of this quarter were all so difficult to understand for me and they really required a lot of practice and learning. If it wasn’t for my teacher, my friends, and the learning guides, baka tres na po ako sa Math this quarter. So big thanks to all of the people who helped me.

As for topic I found the most enjoyable, it would be graphing piecewise functions. It was enjoyable for me because at first, I barely understood the concept and how it worked. Thankfully though, just 2 nights before the test is I finally understood how it’s done. Here are my graphs for 2 sample problems/exercises:

The concept I found as easy to learn would be dividing polynomial functions using synthetic division. I think it was easy for me because it was already discussed back when we were in Grade 7, though using much more simpler equations. This quarter is like a refresher of it. Moreover, I still remember to this day how I suffered in synthetic division back in Grade 7 because I didn’t understand how the numbers worked and how you do the adding, multiplying, and subtracting. Even if our teacher had a great way of teaching it, the topic was just not clicking in my mind.

As for the concept I found the most interesting/inspiring, it would also be dividing polynomial functions using synthetic division. As I said earlier, I struggled so much with synthetic division back in Grade 7. Now that I’m in Grade 9, I somehow wanted to prove to myself that I improved in Math. I challenged myself to do better in at least just 1 topic. The topic that I chose being synthetic division. This self-challenging led me to push myself to learn more and be better. Thankfully, I somehow succeeded this self-challenge I made because I noticed how I could already solve synthetic division problems without needing to look at examples.  

Moreover, the concepts that I mastered the most would also be division of polynomial functions. Both synthetic division and long division. I think I’ve mastered them not only because they’ve already been discussed back in Grade 7, but also because they were given as topics during the times when suspension of classes was being held continuously because of the typhoons, and I was so bored that I forced myself to spend time by studying division. As for the concepts that I have mastered the least, it would be finding the domain and range of an inverse function. I think this is the concept I mastered the least because up until now that I’m writing this blog, I still don’t fully understand how the topic works. Maybe it’s because I also don’t fully understand how to graph inverse functions even after I tried consulting both physical and digital resources, which based on my understanding sometimes plays a role in finding the domain and range of inverse functions. Here however are some of my solutions to finding the domain and range of inverse functions which I got after a long time of consulting both the internet and my friends:

If this show wasn't written by a coward, Shouko's yandere trope could have been stretched to the absolute limit and this could have been the last time we see either of these characters. Maybe episodes from now we see the protagonist group walk past a TV that is airing a new report about Shouko and Yuuji being missing and no one looks at it or makes any sort of comment acknowledging it. That is one gag that might have gotten a laugh out of me.

1. Did you add any F/Os to your list this year? Were they from new media or just a newly discovered love?

Here's every romantic F/O added to the list this year, or at least that I can remember adding this year. Years are long and my sense of time is very warped so it may not be fully accurate.

Most are from new media, or just new parts of media, like the end of the Owl House and the New Pokemon Games. The ones that are new loves from re-visits are Heracross, Smeargle, and Keckleon from Monster Mind, Mario and Luigi from Super Mario, Makarov from Fairy Tail, and Jill from The Wayward Children series.

Though Mario and Luigi are also what I consider my first F/Os, they weren't officially on the list until the movie came out, so I'm counting them in the 2023 yearly wrap.

2. Did you reconsume any of your F/Os’ source media this year? How did you feel about the rewatch/listen/read/etc?

I rewatch Assassination Classroom every year in March and it makes me cry every time. I also replay Hatoful Boyfriend and Holiday Star every December for Kazuaki and Hitori, watch Baka and Test sometime around late Summer most years to ease my seasonal depression, and rewatch Mushishi at least once a year.

Other than that, nothing super meaningful. I rewatched a few LPs of Mario games, replayed through Paper Mario myself, watched Romantic Killer again, Reread Manly Appetites every other month or so, watched The Cat Returns once or twice, played more Pokemon, Restarted Monster Mind (still haven't finished it), and skimmed the Ouran Manga at the library while waiting for them to replace the volume they're missing.

HOWever, this latest reread of Down Among the Sticks and Bones is what got me to finally put Jill on the F/O list, so that feels worth mentioning. I love that book <3

No, not really. My drawings were all very incomplete and sketchy this year with long gaps between them, and my writing really flaked off suddenly, I haven't written more than a paragraph at all this year.

I wouldn't say I'm particularly proud of them, but I did really enjoy making moodboards last month and am kind of waiting for my health to settle so I can get back to them. Making stuff for other self shippers is a lot more fun than writing/drawing for myself atm.

11. Was there new media for any of your F/Os this year? If so, what was your opinion on it?

Yes FNaF Help Wanted 2 came out and gave us New Sun Content and I LOVED IT!!!!! He's such a bitch!!!! A shit!!! A snobby theater kid!!! He's so controlling and harsh I LOVE him <3 So happy to know more about him honestly and that he's not all UwU Caregiver that the fandom made him. I like soft characters, but he's a HORROR character he needs to be a little fucked up!!

18. Did you have a favorite trend in the selfship community from the past year?

I'll be honest, I don't pay much attention to what other people in the selfship community are doing. I follow the tags but if there's like a popular trend thing going around, I miss it every time.

My LEAST favorite right now though is the whole "Stolen from an Anti" thing. I have no qualms about stealing posts it's whatever, but I hate when it's says that in text at the bottom of the post. Just tag it as such so I can filter it please
