Story - summarized

Baishuo adores Qingyue more than anything. He's not only her trusted attendant, but also her closest friend at the Moon Palace. He transformed into a human to help with the chores...but he can't help but reminisce about his time in the mortal realm.

As a bunny, he was the guardian of a special piece of jade, and he protected it with his life. Unfortunately, he almost died. That was the day Qingyue found him. She took him in and healed him, and she never tried to take the jade away.

But that was how Baishuo knew the jade was for Qingyue.

He stayed by her side as she crafted many aromatic sachets. One of them became his favorite, but Qingyue didn't get to finish it one day. So, he kept bringing her tons of spices hoping to get her to finish it and give it to him.

Now, at the Moon Palace, Qingyue offers to make a sachet specially for Baishuo. He admits he wants the kind that she never got to finish - it's a special sachet that girls give to boys they secretly love.

Baishuo is embarrassed, thinking that Qingyue knows about his crush now. But she goes on without a clue. He wants to admit his true feelings to her... but maybe it's best if he just kept it to himself.

-Baishuo isn't the only animal spirit to cultivate a human form. Lingwu (Flaming Tiger) wanted to live among the humans after the monk died, so he transformed into one to blend in and stay safe.

-Lots of Western countries have a nursery rhyme about the "man in the moon." In China and other parts of East Asia, it's instead about a "rabbit in the moon."

-Baishuo's name comes from bai, meaning "white, snowy, pure," and shuo which means "beginning" or "first day of lunar month."

-Jade is a precious stone in Chinese mythology, representing beauty, virtue, and purity. Qingyue fit these attributes, so the jade piece from Baishuo selected her.

Helloooo, Nikkiblr! It’s time for your official afternoon update!

Well, over in the Shining League, Caprico is absolutely dominating. He’s a fan favorite pick, as the winner of Manwhore Monday, and poor Baishuo can’t seem to keep up. Of course, an upset can still occur in the polls. And as iconic as Caprico is as current reigning Manwhore Champion, he had his fair share of deniers back in that first election.

Users have cited Caprico’s general unwillingness to interact — much less to flirt — with anyone as reason for him not being a manwhore, some even going so far as to say that his shirtlessness is the only thing going for him. Similar allegations were levied against Mercury just a few days ago, stating that he wouldn’t even qualify as manwhore without his wet shirt, but he still prevailed — will Caprico do the same? By contrast, Baishuo might be covered up, but some voters might find his petulant attitude sluttier than Caprico’s mechanical indifference. And don’t forget that Baishuo is a bunny — and bunnies are well known for being… quick to reproduce. Baishuo still has that manwhore element in him, so don’t count him out yet!

Over in the Love League, our other beloved bunny boy is far behind Zhu Yuxian, who’s established a solid lead. But what’s the difference between these two Cloud gentlemen that has pushed one far over the slutty, slutty edge? User @ozeca has some thoughts: citing Yuxian’s “bisexual swag,” the fact that he plays an instrument, and his general manwhoreishness in the way he interacts with others, among other things. A compelling picture painted by a first-hand source — but is it enough to keep Zhu Yuxian in the lead?

Let’s not forget that Zhong Lizi, although lacking a certain bisexual boy swagger, he has plenty of charisma of his own. Remember when he usurped command of an entire army unit in his first week of the job? ✨March Manwhore Madness✨ Official Commentary— Day 3

Good morning Nikkiblr, and happy Thursday! Yesterday we had two great matches. Over in the Shining League, Mercury handily knocked Yeeso out of the running and secured himself a spot in the Quarter Finals. Meanwhile in the Love League, there was a thrilling, neck and neck match that was any manwhore’s game right up until the very last minutes of the poll in the early AM today! Reid Mercury managed to scrape just a couple more votes than his competitor, meaning that Fu Su’s journey towards manwhoreness has come to an end, while Reid will be moving on to the next stage of competition.

Up today in the Shining League, we have Caprico vs Baishou! I won’t lie to you, folks, this is going to be a tough one for Baishou. For those who aren’t aware, Caprico has previously been awarded the first place spot during a past event, “Manwhore Monday”, and there are speculative whispers that he might just take home the crown again. The early morning voters are heavily favoring Caprico, but for those out there voting bunny, don’t despair just yet! Anything can happen in a manwhore tournament, as we’ve already seen.

Meanwhile in the Love League, it’s Zhu Yuxian facing off against Zhong Lizi. For those who aren’t aware, this is something of a grudge match, as both men proposed to Bai Jinjin on the exact same day! Bai Jinjin chose Zhong Lizi. Now it’s your turn to choose a man—or rather, a manwhore. Will Yuxian’s devilish smirk finally grant him a win against Zhong Lizi? Or will Lizi’s penchant for bunny suits earn him enough votes to out-manwhore Zhu Yuxian? Early voting appears to favor Zhu Yuxian, but with so many hours left on the poll, this one is still a toss up.

Chapter 2: Fated First Meeting

Narrated by Baishuo.

Narrator: In fact, I have never forgotten what happened.

Narrator: Badly injured, I fled to Cloudcrest with the jade I was guarding.

Narrator: From as early as I can remember, it was by my side. Evil people wanted the jade's power, but I escaped every time.

Narrator: Eventually, I was unlucky. I fell to the ground, and the jade left my paws.

Narrator: I dimly looked at it as it suddenly began to emit a soft light.

Narrator: I thought I was imagining things. At that moment, an elegant fragrance gently embraced me.

Young Girl: Little rabbit, are you alright?

Narrator: I managed to keep myself awake. I saw a pair of bright eyes watching me worriedly. The jade beside me became warm.

Narrator: I believed I could trust that strange girl and got close to her.
