Book Fiyero: *immediately recognizes Elphaba and stations himself at the backdoor to prevent her from evading him, stalks her halfway across town to her aerie (even though at that point in time she was only a college friend he hadn’t seen in five years), insists on seeing her again, instinctively goes to comfort her when she first cries, gets sucked into increasingly deep and fraught conversations with her about collateral damage and freedom fighter terrorism, calls her the “most individual, the most separate, the most real” DURING AN ARGUMENT, says he adores Elphaba’s looks IN THAT SAME ARGUMENT, doesn’t understand Elphaba’s “being born with a talent or an inclination for goodness is the aberration” comment because (implied) he sincerely believes Elphaba isn’t evil, changes his mind about the plight of the Animals all by himself but doesn’t mention it to Elphaba because he is afraid she would distance himself from him, buys scarves for both his wife and Elphaba even though only Elphaba likes scarves, is so concerned for Elphaba and her dangerous Lurlinemas Eve mission that he stalks her instead of staying at his club or just leaving town altogether, and is so worried about her that he returns to the aerie just to see her*

the one timkon vampire-adjacent thought i have (it's not really vampire au. just adjacent.) is this half-baked outsider pov future fic concept, in which kon is a childrens librarian (why is kon a children's librarian? simple. he would love to get the next generation into star trek: the next generation.) (but more seriously its bc i just think hes good with and likes kids. and also he likes stories and media. so. childrens librarian.) who runs a dnd group for middle schoolers twice a week after school.

the pov is one of the kids and the plot is the fact that over the course of the semester / the game campaign, they occasionally get to see mr. conner's husband (he has a lot of photos on his desk and on his phone), who is often dressed in red and black and also often looks tired and pale and has bags under his eyes. and they do slowly come up with the theory that mr. conner's husband is secretly a vampire.

key points include that they only discuss it when they think mr conner cant hear them and that he IS in the back room or his office or whatever giggling, because they have no idea he has superhearing. he's having a real lark of a time. he encourages it. he tells the kids his husband is such a weirdo, like who out there doesn't like garlic bread?? (tim, somewhere: i DO like garlic bread >:C stop lying!!) and he adds a npc to the campaign that's totally a vampire pretending to not be a vampire. every week he brings the updates to tim and has another giggle about it all over again.

the other part of this is that at some point tim and kon are cuddled up in bed and chatting before sleep and it comes up and tim's like. you know, the fucked up thing is if i WAS a vampire i wouldnt even be able to feed from you. you're invulnerable! i can't bite you! so id need like… a side hoe.

and kon gets SO offended. it's a whole comedy. like...

"what do you MEAN you'd need a side hoe!!! WE HAVE A RED SUN PROJECTOR RIGHT IN THAT DRAWER!!!" "yea but i mean how often would i need to eat? i know that depends on the vampire lore youre going with, but it could get pretty impractical to keep uncharging and recharging you." "YOURE MY HUSBAND. ID PUT UP WITH THAT." "but you're MY husband! would i really want to put you through that?" "YOU'D RATHER PUT ME THROUGH GETTING CUCKED?" "it's not ACTUALLY cucking you! it's just like. for food. nutritional cucking?" "NUTRITIONAL-- that's it. i'm going to sleep. good NIGHT. hmph." "are you pouting. stop pouting." Written in the stars.” They gaze at each other, and for Ariel it feels magnetic, like everything in this moment was set up just for them.

I want a memoir from Trinket's point of view. Critical Role is a functioning book publisher now, I want the story of Campaign One through to Campaign Three, and a bit before, retold from Trinket's side of things. This is the most powerful, well traveled bear in all of Exandria! He's fought Giants, Beholders, Ancient Dragons, a Proto-God! He's been to multiple different planes of existence! He's still alive and kicking and he's a grandpa in C3. He joined the fight to save Vax and the world! He's fought ALIENS from the MOON! Imagine that fight from his pov; "I'm too old for this shit" but it's an elderly bear in battle armor riding on the back of an alien scorpion. Do you see my vision?

I think it would be hilarious, touching, adorable, frightening, and deeply moving. Not to mention trying to get into the alien mindset of an animal would be a very cool writing challenge and would be very interesting to read if done well. Some of my favorite characters are alien povs. If they fully embraced the foreign thought process and lack of common knowledge involved but still maintained the instinctual wisdom and experience and bravery it could be a FANTASTIC story! Trinket would have his own way of describing things and it would be really fun to play a guessing game to see if you could tell what spells or objects or places he's talking about based purely on his descriptions. (A few paragraphs or pages later they can have Trinket overhear Vex or someone say the name of the place or thing for readers who can't figure it out).

Please, imagine for me, a whole book of loving but longsuffering Trinket telling his side of the story! Just endless pages of stuff like this: C1E88 (2:06:06) Tangled Depths. WHHAAAAAT IS A WHHAAAAAALE?

C1 E24 (2:18:29) The Feast: Reminiscing about Vax and Keyleth braiding his fur with pink bows and flowers in a Mohawk down his back, and how annoying it was at the time, but how fondly he recalls it now.

It could go in and out between older Trinket commenting on what happened and how he feels about it and younger Trinket actively in the thick of it directly feeling and experiencing the events until events catch up to old man Trinket and we start fighting Aliens. He could be interrupted 4/5ths of the way through the memoir and say "Sorry, I need to go with mom to save the world again, I'll be back in a few days." There could be a fun narrative device of someone interviewing him using Speak with Animals in order to write this firsthand account of Vox Machina's adventures from a unique source. Or they could leave it unexplained and have a straightforward linear narrative or something else. It could be like the Hobbit!
