The Other Woman
Pairing: Billy Russo x Reader
Tumblr media
A/N: Soooo. No one asked for this one and I have prompts in my inbox and a multi chapter Billy x OC story I'm working on. Yet… this happened. I was working on an assignment for uni and this popped into my head. Billy lives in my head rent free and I'm not even mad about it. Enjoy lmaooo
Warnings: cursing, slight angst but not really, lots of fluff (literally and figuratively). It's just a bunch of cute bullshit, don't mind me looool
---------
Your nails tapped the coffee cup as you sat outside the cafe deep in thought. There was only one thing on your mind. Billy was cheating on you. There was no other explanation for his behaviour the past week and the knowledge of what he'd done was eating away at you. It started a week ago. He'd slip out after work hours saying something came up. Sometimes he wouldn't even tell you where he was going and when you asked, he'd say 'work' as he avoided your gaze before slipping out. Billy couldn't lie to you, you knew him too well for that. You knew his tells and he didn't really lie to you. But you knew when he wouldn't look you in the eye that he wasn't being honest.
Then there was his phone. He'd be on it more than usual and it was distracting him. The night before, Frank had called him and you knew it was Frank because you'd seen the name popping up on his screen. You'd both been watching a movie on the sofa together as you tried to convince yourself that Billy wouldn't cheat on you. But when he excused himself to the bedroom, your curiosity burned. Why would he need to sneak off to speak to Frank?
So you'd crept over to where the door was open by a crack and held your breath as you listened.
"Yeah, I know…. I'll just tell her I need to work again… I don't think she knows… yeah, yeah, I know… I can't wait for you to meet her, man. She's perfect,"
Those words felt like a slap to the face and a punch to the gut all rolled into one. Billy was cheating on you. Billy was cheating on you and Frank knew about it. Frank who was one of your closest friends, the one who introduced you to Billy in the first place. You'd gone back to the sofa as you dwelled in your misery and betrayal and when Billy had come back out with a wide smile on his face you'd felt sick. But you couldn't bring yourself to ask him, to question him or tell him what you'd heard. You were scared of what he might say. Scared of what this all meant.
You and Billy had been together for almost two years now and you lived together. You knew of his past but never once had you felt insecure about being with him. He loved you, and you wholeheartedly believed he did. So this felt like it completely blindsided you and your head was all over the place.
That morning Billy was gone by the time you woke which was nothing new since he often let you sleep when he got up to work. But you'd come to the cafe by lunch because you were drowning in your thoughts back at home. The home you shared with him.
You blew out a breath, grabbing your cell from your pocket as you rang Anvil. You had a gut feeling and you wanted confirmation. His secretary picked up the phone and you sighed before asking something you dreaded the answer to.
"Hey, Annie. Is Billy there? I need to talk to him," you said softly. The older woman cleared her throat down the phone before speaking.
"He's not here, Y/N. He took the day off," she said warily. Well then. You thanked her quickly before hanging up, the lump lodged in your throat getting bigger.
How could it all have gone so wrong? You stood, tossing the half drank coffee in the trash as you made your way home with a broken heart. You hardly expected Billy to be sitting on the sofa when you got home. But there he was in all his glory. A burgundy sweater with his jeans and boots, hair slicked back like always. You felt like you were hanging on by a thread.
He smiled when he saw you, standing up and making his way over.
"I thought you had work," your cold tone stopped him in his tracks as he looked at you cautiously.
"I took the day, had some things I needed to do," he replied easily. Things he needed to do. More like someone he needed to do. Tense didn't even begin to cover how you were feeling.
"Look… there's someone here I want you to meet," Billy said hesitantly, glancing to the closed bedroom door. He really wouldn't just… The string of composure you were holding onto snapped.
"Is this some kind of joke?!" You yelled. He looked shocked, eyes wide and confused as he tilted his head.
"Uh… what?" He asked carefully.
"It's bad enough you're having an affair that apparently Frank knows all about but you've brought her here?! You want me to meet her?!" You were incredulous at his audacity. You wondered if he'd suffered a head injury a week ago or something.
Billy blinked at you with his dark eyes for a moment before he burst out laughing. But when he saw your tearful eyes glaring at him, his laughter died instantly.
"You… you think I'm cheatin' on you?" He asked slowly, like he was talking to a toddler. Your brows furrowed watching him warily as he walked over to you.
"You've been acting weird all week, Billy. And I heard you on the phone last night. I heard you talking to Frank," you muttered, hating how your voice wobbled.
Billy looked stricken at how upset you were and wrapped his arms around you and you melted into him despite yourself. He stroked your hair soothingly with one hand as the other rubbed your back.
"I'm not steppin' out on you, Y/N. I'd never do that," he sighed. He moved away, cradling your cheeks as his obsidian gaze looked over your face like he was searching for the answers of the universe.
"Not gonna lie, I'm a little offended by your lack of faith, but I have been actin' weird so I'll let it slide," he murmured with a soft smile.
"But then… what was that all about?" You asked, deflating a bit as he wiped away the couple of tears that had fallen. He leaned in and kissed you softly, one of the rare tender kisses he'd give you if you were upset. You were incredibly confused and maybe also felt a little guilty that your mind went there.
When he pulled away, he shot you a grin, looking almost like a kid on Christmas which only furthered your confusion.
"Wait here," he beamed, dashing off to the bedroom. You really felt like you'd been transported to another dimension where nothing made sense. But then Billy came back out with what you could only describe as a living, breathing, real life Pokemon in his arms. It was a Pomeranian puppy that just looked like a cloud with two shiny back eyes peeking out.
You made a noise that you couldn't even describe. A mix of a whine and a coo that people often reserved for cute animals and babies as if they couldn't help themselves. Your feet took you over to where Billy was grinning at you and the ball of fluff was nibbling his hand.
"Billy…" your voice was still a little high, a little pout on your face as you reached out and stroked the fluffy fur on the puppy.
"Meet Cotton Ball. Cotton Ball, meet your mom," he smirked, grabbing a tiny paw and making it wave at you. It was something to behold seeing Billy like this and you almost melted right into a puddle.
"Wait so… this is the other woman?" You asked with a snort, feeling so utterly stupid for how your mind went there. Billy rolled his eyes with a laugh as he handed over the bundle of cloud to you.
"Do you like her?" He asked hesitantly, looking almost unsure as he glanced from the puppy to you.
"I love her. Thank you, Billy," you murmured, cuddling the tiny puppy closer to you.
"I uh… I know that you said you wanted a dog," he started, his shoulder rolling a little.
"Which you shot down immediately," you cut in, raising a brow at him. He chuckled, rubbing his beard a little with a nod.
"I know. But… I saw how disappointed you were and I decided I never wanted to see that look on your face again. Especially not 'cause of me. She hadn't been fully vaccinated and stuff so I've been waitin' to bring her home. Been to see her a few times to get her used to me," he shrugged, looking almost bashful which was a strange look for him. It was cute.
"I love her. And I love you," you smiled wide at him. His insecurities seemed to wash away at your bright smile and he returned it, leaning over to kiss your forehead.
"I love you too. Come here, lemme show you somethin','' he took your free hand and led you to the bedroom. On the floor next to your bed was what looked like a queen bed shrunk down. It was a dog bed but a fancy one and the cozy sheets looked expensive too. There was also a basket filled to the brim with dog toys. You looked at him incredulously with a laugh.
"And here I was thinking you weren't a dog person and you're spoiling her already," you teased. He chuckled, a slight pink tint to his face you couldn't remember ever witnessing as he bit his lip and smiled at you.
"Yeah well… my girls gotta have the best. And… I mighta got attached to her," he shrugged easily.
"Billy Russo has a heart after all. Who knew?" You snorted. He gripped your jaw gently, giving your lips a firm peck before smirking down at you.
"Don't tell a soul or I'll have to kill you. I got a rep to keep," he smirked devilishly. You snorted again, shaking your head as you took the now sleeping puppy to her lavish bed and set her down.
When you walked back over to Billy, you wrapped your arms around his middle and he responded in kind and held you close.
"I can't believe you thought I'd cheat on you," he murmured, nuzzling your hair. You felt your cheeks heat up as you moved away and looked up at him.
"I know. I'm sorry, I just… you'd been acting weird and then the phone call, I didn't know what to think," you said softly. He frowned a little, tucking some of your hair behind your ear before resting a hand on your jaw.
"You know I love you, right?" He asked with a furrowed brow.
"I know. Honestly… I've never questioned it. I've never felt like that before. My mind just ran away with itself," you felt bad now and really fucking stupid but he had been acting weird. How were you to know that he was secretly procuring you the cutest puppy to exist?
He kissed your forehead softly, lips lingering a moment before he cupped your cheeks, tilting your head to look up at him. His dark eyes were full of many emotions and you got lost in them.
"You're the only one I want. Ever since I met you, I never wanted anyone else. I ain't ever felt like this before but all I know is… I'm yours. I love you, Y/N. There'll never be anyone else," he murmured sincerely. You couldn't help the dopey smile on your face as you leaned up and captured his lips in a soft kiss.
"I love you too, Billy. But… I will have to share you now with Cotton Ball," you teased against his lips. He chuckled, nipping at your bottom lip.
"You'll always be my best girl," he grinned, rubbing his nose against yours.
One hand dropped to your neck, the other slinking around you and settling on your ass as he kissed you deeply. Just as you were really getting into it, he hissed, cursing and moving away as he lifted his foot. The foot that had tiny razor teeth latched onto it as the dog dangled off his toe. You couldn't help the bubble of laughter that came out of you as you pried the dog away from his foot.
"Feel like I might end up regrettin' this decision," he huffed, eyes narrowed at Cotton Ball who was now happily in your arms. He wasn't really mad though, his lips were slightly upturned as he reached out and rubbed the dogs tiny head.
"Awww. Is the big bad marine scared the lil doggy might bite his ass when he's having sex?" You mocked playfully.
Billy's mortified face had you in stitches. He looked like he'd not considered it until you said it and now he was glaring at the dog like she'd ready done it.
"We're gonna need some boundaries," he muttered to the dog as he pointed at her, then his piercing eyes turned to you and you bit your lip to stifle your laughter.
"And for the record, I am a big bad marine and I ain't scared of a fuckin' dog," he smirked with a raised brow. You rolled your eyes goodnaturedly as you turned, dog in hand, and left the room.
"Mhmm. Just wait until I tell Frank how you're scared of a ball of fluff. Or the guys from Anvil. Or maybe I'll tell them just how much you love her already," you grinned, laughing when he gripped your hips and dragged you so your back pressed against his front.
"What I tell you? You tell and I'll have to kill you. I don't wanna do that, I might just miss you," he murmured with a smile as he nuzzled your neck.
"Russo's going soooft!" You teased with a laugh, squealing when his hands dug into your sides to tickle you.
Honestly, you never really thought Billy would be a dog person. But you never thought he'd be the type to live with someone and here you were. You never thought he'd be the type to use the L word yet he did with you. He was full of surprises and this was way better than you anticipated. You never expected the other woman to be so cute.

@friendshipfisting requested some grumpy Em at the beach while chatting and I got a little bit carried away writing dorky fluff so-
You lucky heathens are getting a huge prompt drop. Hope you enjoy~
(This is long enough I could post it to ao3 if someone wants to come up with a title ahah)
--
Marshall hated beaches. He always had, they were just always so overcrowded whenever he tried going. And huge clusters of people did nothing but stress him out, even before he got famous and all those claustrophobic fears of a crowd closing in on him suddenly became a reality.
When he was younger and getting absolutely trashed everyday it was easier to deal with. The combination of pills and booze kept him mellow enough that he could even throw himself into a crowd at his own concerts. Helped build up somewhat of a tolerance for whenever he got up on stage.
Outside of performing however? They were still an absolute nightmare that made his stomach twist up into knots. A brief pass through, and maybe a few stops to meet and greet fans he could handle. But actively plopping himself into the hot sandy clusterfuck known as a public beach? That was the furthest thing from fun or relaxing that he could think of.
Luckily living in the middle of Detroit meant he was mostly free of dealing with said landscape.
So why in the hell was he struggling to get comfortable on some stiff itchy wooden beach chair, with the ocean loudly looming not very far away?
"The wave's are freaking perfect today-" Colson was beaming a smile at him, almost as blinding as the sun resting behind his pretty wet head. The lighting ironically formed a halo around the self proclaimed rap devil. It made Marshall want to snort. "You should seriously come in."
"I'm perfectly fine right here." Under the safety of his umbrella, above the hazardous hot sand. And most importantly far away from the heavy crashing waves.
Swimming wasn't his best skill either, afterall there was not much need to swim when you avoided the beach. Sure he could wade in a pool and float on his back if needed, but moving, rushing water was a completely different ballgame.
"You're such a drag," Colson's eyes rolled, long legs kicking up sand while he crossed the distance between them. He was still dripping water all over the place, stray droplets splashing onto Marshall's legs when he loomed ever closer to the chair.
Reflexively the older man tucked his notebook away in the nearby bag, knees pulling up so he could resituate himself. Legs crossing indian style to give the brat a place to sit.
Marshall couldn't care less about being a "drag", he'd been very vocal about his displeasure with the whole idea of wasting a day at the beach. For once he'd taken over the role of bitchy pushover. Spending most of the night before and morning of their trip muttering under his breath, listing all the reasons why it was such a stupid idea. But still going through with the process of booking and reserving a secluded spot for them on some remote beach.
The only reason he'd put up with it at all was for the younger rapper's sake, something which he hoped Colson could actually learn to appreciate. It wasn't common for him to concede like this, but it was only fair. "You enjoying choking on salt water and burning your skin?"
The tall blonde dropped down with a hard plop, legs bouncing to disturb more sand while the beach chair creaked. The bitter question didn't seem to phase his good mood one bit. "Yupp! Loving it. I've missed the beach, I was starting to look like a ghost."
More water splattered against Marshall's ankles, had his skin twitching. "One more big wave like earlier and you might be one-" The brunette was thankful he had shades on, just recalling the moment only a half hour prior when a huge wave had suddenly crashed down and disappeared his partner made his face curl up. It had been a genuinely terrifying minute of watching and waiting for Colson's soaked head to reappear above the water. One that nearly had him leaving his tiny sanctuary to pound down the length of sand separating him from the water.
Thankfully the younger rapper had resurfaced, farther out then when he'd been hit. Laughter visible even from his distance with the hard shake of the boys shoulders and wide smile.
"What? That was nothing, you should've seen how big some of the waves over in the Bahama's could get. Now those, those could totally sweep you out to sea."
Clicking his tongue Marshall gave a swift nod, fingers prying open their small cooler to dig out a cold bottle of water. "I'll take your word for it." The last thing he needed was for the kid to get a Bahama's vacation plan into his head.
Colson sighed dramatically, upper body dropping down to drape over the older man's lap. Inciting a string of curses and half hearted shoves from how the action left water soaking through his shorts. "A little bit of sun and water isn't gonna kill you old man, you look ridiculous all bundled up here in your shirt and hat. Like some horrible undercover pap who's hiding a camera in his beach bag."
The observation was accompanied by a soft laugh and long fingers tugging at the collar of his shirt, trailing up along his jaw to flick his hat.
Marshall's teeth set in a line. "What, you want me stripped down streaking across the beach? Tattoos and dick free for an actual reporter to see?"
The chance of some paparazzo being nearby was slim to none, they both knew that. Marshall had gone out of his way to rent the accompanying two beaches on either side despite the small cliffs between them. There was noone other than their own mix of security teams for miles. The only chance someone was getting a shot of either of them was with a drone.
In theory Marshall could strip down and dance about the beach all he wanted, grab Colson by his skinny waist and fuck him down into the sand until he was choking on a seashell. He was fully confident in his team.
That didn't mean any of that sounded remotely tempting however.
"Maybe not running across the beach," Colson snickered body twisting until he was lying with the back of his head against the older man's crotch. Arms curled up over his head so he could lightly grip onto his sides and stretch the rest of his body out. "A slow sensual walk towards the water sounds a lot better. Would give me something really great to look at."
The harsh tug on wet blonde locks barely elicited a reaction. "If your hoping for a full moon tonight you're gonna be disappointed. News called for clouds-" It was easier to deflect from the brats flirting then reward him with a proper response.
"With how your pants sag I'm guaranteed at least a half moon before sundown." This time Marshall was the one sighing, head shaking while he rubbed his temples. Colson of course looked beyond pleased with his joke, damp hands rubbing up over the front of his shirt to lightly massage his shoulders. "Unless your planning on dressing correctly for once while we walk the shoreline."
"Who said anything about walking along the shoreline? When did I agree to that?"
"What, we're gonna have a beach date and not enjoy the sunset together? It's no wonder you've been divorced twice." The light teasing had Marshall snorting despite himself. Palm pushing his sunglasses up off his face and much to his partner's delight knocking away his sunhat.
"Actually I let Kim's other boyfriends worry about the mushy shit like that, last time I went to a beach with her she left me passed out along the shoreline while the tide was rising." The memory had him chuckling quietly to himself while his gaze trailed along with white shoreline. "Fucking bitch almost let me drown all because I snorted her share of coke."
"Jesus-" Colson's lips burst apart in a laugh. Palms leaving the older rapper's shoulders to cup his neck instead. "Hope she at least cleaned your pockets out before she left-"
The suggestion had Marshall's gaze dropping back down, lips quirking up into a smirk while his fingers raked through Colson's knotted hair. "You'd think so right? Damn bitch swiped my wallet and forgot the motel's key card. Came back to wake my half submerged ass up and bitch how hard of a time I was giving her- like- fuck me for not reminding her it was in my back pocket while I was drowning!"
The outburst had them both laughing finally, Colson's boisterous and expressive was Marshall's was quieter and reserved to a soft shake of his shoulders. A few years ago the same story might've dragged up residual hurt feelings. Colson's soft fingers tickling his throat and heavy body helped keep them away.
"I'll keep that in mind in case I wanna drown your ass sometime soon."
"Probably already have it planned out, why your so eager to get me walking along the shore."
This time when Colson snorted it was followed up with a firm pull. "Fuck, ya caught me-" Large hands curling around the back of his neck to pull him down for an upside down kiss. It was interrupted by panted breaths and light shakes of the younger rapper's head but the action soothed his mood nonetheless.
Colson's mouth was warm against his own and tasted like salty sea water. Marshall even swore he could feel the scratch of sand against his chin but continued to kiss back anyway. The moment was pleasant, helped ease what little stress he had left in his temples.
The broke apart when his back started to ache, fingers tugging softly at the tangled blonde locks until they separated. "If I walk you along the shore like some cheesy hallmark movie can we skip the whole lovey dovey sunset gazing bullshit?"
Colson mock gasped. "And ruin my proposal I had planned?"
Leaning back Marshall moved to uncross his legs, forcing his behemoth of a partner to sit up himself. "If it's another collab idea dragging me out into this ridiculous sun and pesty sand was the worst way to soften me up-"
"Actually I was gonna propose we try fucking out in the ocean. Was hoping the whole weightless thing with the water meant you could hold me up while we fucked." The sleazy wink had Marshall shooting Colson a worried look. It was hard to tell how serious the brat was being. It sounded just like the kind of stupid thing he would actually plan.
"That's one way to break the news to the media," The brunette couldn't help but shake his head and laugh while he climbed back up onto his feet. Hand catching the wide umbrella so he wouldn't knock it over. "Rap God Eminem and rival MGK found naked adrift at sea together. Nude!"
For what felt like the millionth time that day Colson cackled, long neck stretching out while he threw his head back. "We- haha- We don't both have to be naked! Why would you take your shorts off too? You actually wanna skinny dip with me?"
"God no. I don't think I'd ever get the sand out of my ass. Fuck I've been sitting down this whole time and there's some inside my thighs."
Colson was less graceful when he stood up, full on jostling the umbrella with his head. Fingers curling around the older rapper's abandoned hat to slap it back ontop of his head. "That's half the fun of going to the beach. Getting sand in all kinds of-"Their eyes met in a brief flirty gaze. "Uncomfortable places."
The wink that followed was all the encouragement Marshall needed to start walking towards the beach. Eyes rolling so hard he thought they might get stuck in the back of his head. The sooner they got down to the shore the sooner he could get back to comfort of a nice soft hotel bed.
And promptly screw the blondes brains out.

‘Saving’ the Rainy Day
TW: implied slavery, implied abuse, argument, crass language, mild self-harm due to panic attack, selfish/unqualified caretakers, its actually pretty tame all things considered
Special thanks to @wildfaewhump for letting me play in their Path verse and encouraging me to post!! Check out their stuff for the verse origins and the cinnamon roll that is Fern, its amazing.
“I thought you’d be happy I was trying to get involved. You’re always railing on me about ‘understanding what it means to be a Path’“ The girl crosses her arms, narrowing eyes with confidence even as she looks like the most expensive drowned rat in posh clothing drenched in rain, hair clinging to her face as her impeccable makeup melts away.
“Yeah, Cass, I meant like maybe realizing how dangerous it is to carelessly use your ability in public, not bringing home an agency mess. This isn’t a safehouse, god knows who saw you,”
Oren is trying to stay calm. Really, he is. But Cass had shown up at three in the morning giddy as can be, tipsy from whatever party she’d been to and practically tipping over as she piggy-backed a drenched blonde girl dressed in nothing but Cass’ overcoat and a torn silk slip. Babbling excitedly to him about how she’d saved her, saved a Path and was part of the resistance or some bullshit he couldn’t quite hear over the screaming his head had at realizing what the spoiled cat had dragged in now.
And now, now Cass was mad. Mad that he’d stopped her victory parade to ask her if she was out of her goddamn mind. Stopped to ask her what the hell she was thinking, and where she’d gotten this Path.
“Well its my house”
“Its your fucking parents’ house Cass. They own it. How do you think they’d feel about their daughter starting a safe house for Paths from god knows where after all they’ve done to hide your identity”
“Like they’d ever check. I do my job, I’m the good corporate daughter. I go to parties, I occasionally date the guys they want me to, I help them keep the ‘family business’ image. They stay out of my shit. That’s our deal”
“Yeah? Well I thought you staying out of shit like this was our deal”
“Our deal? For what? What the hell do you provide that gives you so much power over me Oren? A dick? I can get that anywhere, anytime I want. Your cooking is shit, you don’t pay rent, and newsflash, but you haven’t exactly done anything to teach me about ‘being a Path’ besides being a giant prick about ‘responsibility’.  You just sit on your ass and write your ‘book’, and act like staying out of trouble puts you somehow above everyone else who’s just trying to actually live a goddamn life worth living“
Oren feels the heat rise in his features, his jaw clenched tight in anger. He didn’t know what he expected, when Cass had offered him a place at the bar, after he mistook her for a fucking sensible Path, not one raised ignorant and spoiled of everything people like him suffered through.
Cass had always been a spoiled rich girl. Clueless about consequences that couldn’t be solved with money, or a sweet touch from her Class-C powers that were actually one misstep away from landing her in shit she wasn’t prepared for.
Oren had been trying to tell her that. That he couldn’t introduce her to the few contacts he still had in the movement. Couldn’t tell her where to find rallies. Because she wasn’t just a danger to herself, she was a goddamn danger to any Path.
Cass was selfish, and Oren knew if she was caught they probably wouldn’t even need to use another Path on her. She’d give anyone and everyone up for her freedom.
At least, that’s what he’d thought, until she dragged some poor blonde Path in the door, saying she’d ‘rescued’ her.
The same poor Path Oren realized was now huddled in a corner of the kitchen, hyperventilating, fingernails digging crescents into her arms, small-red half moods bleeding down her arms already littered black and blue like a stormy sky. When his dark eyes met her wide blue ones, they widened and all her movement stopped, including the flutter of her chest.
“Oh fuck” Oren pushed passed Cass who spun, angrily.
“I’m not fucking done Oren you always-“
“GODDAMIT Cass can you shut up for once and just let me deal with the mess you made?!” He hisses at her, and sees the girl begin to scramble away in fear out of the corner of his eye, a mess of thin limbs drowning in Cass’ coat. Bruises peak out beneath its edge along her legs, an ankle that’s far too swollen to be healthy dragging along the floor and Oren has to breathe for a second as his limbs refuse to move, stuck just watching as he feels himself scramble away from strangers who’d dragged him away from his safe little cube, he was so safe and good and
He blinks and in that second Cass has pushed past him to grab the girl who is pressing now against the wall, crying out in fear.
“Cass NO-“
But it’s too late and he sees it the second she touches the girl and falls to the ground shaking. Whimpering. Fuck fuck FUCK FUCKFUCKFUCK but Oren needs to calm down as he rushes over hands hovering.
He hasn’t tried in so long. He was supposed to be safe here, to have Cass do the work, to teach her without having to do this because he isn’t sure he can. The places in his mind that feel broken, pieces he wants to use but feel like they’re slicing himself open even as he touches, as he tries to form them into a wall as he reaches out and pulls the two girls apart.
It’s like a battering ram of please don’t hurt me I’m scared I don’t want to hurt I’m bad I’m always bad I don’t know what’s happening please please no I can’t oh god oh god I can’t do this why did I do this who is doing this who is she who is she who is he who is this what’s happening why is this happening why can’t I stop please make it stop make it stop make it stop as their thoughts and feelings meld together, two Class-C’s caught in a loop as the shivering girl feeds into and off Cass’s inexperience.
And it’s like pulling apart two strong magnets, held tight by attraction of their own making. The separation is violent, but Oren’s just happy it happens as he’s able to push Cass backwards, so hard she slides against the slick floor, slamming into the couch.
But now he’s stuck, and he can’t let go. He can’t let go oh god this place is too big I miss the cubby I miss being safe and good I miss Handler I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sorry make it stop make it stop make it-
STOP. He screams into her mind, a command for everything to stop. A slap of white void in his own mind, in hers, and he feels her go limp somewhere far away from this place he drags himself out of like hot coals. The breath is like a gasp after drowning, and he feels himself shaking as he holds the girl, laying in his arms like a doll with its strings cut.
Oh fuck. Oh fuck no, no, not again he thinks as trembling fingers reach out to her neck to feel- Its there. A low beat, fluttering but evening out as he feels her mind slip into unconsciousness, the unconsciousness he’d meant but hadn’t been sure if he’d commanded right. Forced right. Because he’d forced and oh god. He can feel himself shaking, his breath in stuttered gasps, as he runs a hand through his dark hair trying to calm down, knowing this isn’t her panic still shaking him.
This is the memories of white rooms and needles and tell him to stop breathing, I know you can do it and feeling the praise in his gut even as the man’s eyes go dark in front of him, even as he struggles beneath the way his mind becomes like knives as he feels the air gasping in his lungs.
No. He forces himself to look away to count the paintings. One. Two. Three. Four. Five. To count the three couches, the one table, the one Cass currently staring at him, and hugging herself. Cass.
“Cass, you alright?”
“Y-yeah just…just give me a minute. What the fuck was that Oren?” His gaze relaxes as he sees her usual entitlement creep into her posture as she leans back, one hand over her heart he’s sure is still hammering away like his.
“Class-C right? She’s a lot stronger than you Cass, been working for…well I pulled out before I looked, but I’d guess a lot, and hard. She panicked, and her Path sense made you panic too. She overwhelmed you, fed off the panic she created in you, the panic you started to feed back to her…it’s a loop, dangerous. Made worse because, like I’ve told you, you’re inexperienced. Weak, compared to a lot of us who’ve spent our lives stretched to the limit.” He tries to make his voice sound strong, authoritative. More like the person Cass will listen to than the one he feels on a daily basis, the one who’s weak and scared and hiding from everyone. He shifts, moving the girl so she’s laying a bit more comfortably, head resting in his lap as he combs his fingers through wet dirty blonde hair.
The storm is still raging outside, pouring and wiping away the trash of the city’s streets. Wiping away all the hustle and bustle, the constant thrum of people now contained in their cars and their apartments, or staying out later than they expected in bars and parties hoping the rain will let up, but Oren knows. It doesn’t rain, but pours.
And as Cass closes her eyes, leaning back against the far too expensive couch she’s probably ruining with how soaked she is, Oren wonders how he ended up back in the rain.
He’d thought this was shelter. That teaching Cass the basics about what it’s like to be a Path would be easy, wouldn’t make him use his powers. That he could live here, in her far too big apartment rent free. That he could work on the book deal his pseudonym had, the one that’d net him enough money to really get somewhere, somewhere far away from everything to do with Paths, to do with the sharp shards left in his mind that hurt to touch, to use. The ones people had tried to help him heal but only made worse, the ones he’d hurt those people with, the people who’d just wanted to help. Oren had learned then, learned that he had to help himself.
Yet somehow, here he was. Sitting on the floor of an apartment no normal person could afford, the resident fuck-boy-toy and Path-teacher for a spoiled Class-C rich girl who’d grown up ignorant of the horrible things her ability inextricably made her apart of, holding a girl he’s so fucking glad he didn’t accidentally kill and hopes he didn’t send into catatonia who came from god knows where, but is far too out of control right now for what a broken Class-A he is.
So he’s here, back in the rain, and hoping maybe if he figures it out he can still find his fucking rainbow, somewhere far away and alone, at the end of this. I might make this a series, since I kinda love the shitty caretaker dynamic these two have going on for the poor thing they’ve ‘saved’, so let me know if you want to be tagged!

You must become QUEEN!
" Marinette darling sister how are you today!" mina exclaimed happy to see her youngest sister Marinette gave a sad smile "I'm doing well how about you?"   " what with that face love?"   "oh umm..." Marinette stammered looking around nervously trying to find something else to talk about " Marinette." she closed her eyes than opening them again than looked at her older sister who look concerned Marinette looked down and sighed " I don't want to take up too much of your time mina." Marinette said quietly. mina looked at her bored like " I have all the time in the world for you love now tell me whats going on." mina spoke softly Marinette took a deep breath and she began to explained what been happening. " so, this girl name Lila told big white lies and when you called her out for her bullshit your so called "friends" turn against you? is that right I'm not losing my hearing right." she asked with disgusted in her voice Marinette nodded anger and  frustration coming to a boiled after holding it in for months " yeah! it's even worse when Adrien fucking Agreste know that Lila is a liar!" she exclaimed slamming her hands down on her table she didn't noticed that her sister looked at her questionable "Agreste?" she asked Marinette stopped her rent and looked at mina "well yeah Adrien Agreste he's a famous model." Marinette said confused mina still looked at her questionable feeling that she heard the name before but can't remember when or where. Marinette looked at her sister maybe she didn't tell her about her crush or well dying crush on Adrien before? " I feel like I heard that name before but can't remember when." mina said out load to herself. "oh, Melanie say something about seeing a closed off older man before she left back to New York!" Marinette said than it clicked " is a man is his name Gabriel Agreste?" she asked slowly   Marinette nodded her head "ah." mina said softly "now I remember Melanie did say something about a man that gave her the creeps a bit. but it was more of a line of a man who that have never gotten over a death in the family like creeped and trying to get them back." she chuckled darkly this took Marinette by surprise " mina?" Marinette asked wearily her older sister eyes snapped on her with a sicken smile on her face " now you said that this Agreste boy know that the girl is lying right."   Marinette confusion was place with frustration "yeah! as I said before it even worse when he refused to help me exposed that lying fox saying ' that he doesn't want her to get akumatized so ask long as we both know she not hurting anyone' but she is she's hurting me all my friends turned their backs on me I was almost expelled and akumatized because of her lies!" she yelled slamming her hands on the table tears coming out of her closed eyes she let out a sob putting her hands on her face. tikki flew up and petted your holder heard whispering that everything was going to be okay " I- I just don't know what to do Dà jiějiě I tried so hard to make everyone happy even when I acted like an idiot around Adrien, I always put his feeling before mine." Marinette said trying to stop her flowing tears "I just don't understand the only time I ask for something it seen as me being selfish or I'm just being jealous or whatever! but when they ask me for something, they don't think about how much stuff I have to do or if they ask me if I have free time, they... they just don't! what if I want some free time huh if I want some Marinette time but no, I have to do what they want what or what they needed! not what Marinette want or she needed!" Marinette got up knocking down the chair she was sitting in her hands balled up into fists pacing in her room as her sister watched taken aback by her little sister out burst. 'so, it is a bigger problem than I thought." she thought as she watched her sister go on her rent and also watching for any akumas she doesn't want her little sister to get akumatized for some that can be dealt with. " I already have enough on my plate  as it is having commissions for people who are willing to pay me money and being the class fucking president and to top it all of being fucking ladybug that is too much for me to fucking much!" she yelled stopping her pacing her eyes closed more tears threating to spill out of her eyes " I-I-I ho-how do you deal with it Dà jiějiě how?" she asks weakly holding herself she didn't notice that the video called ended or a pair of arms wrap around her "well that only way to deal with it is to make them pay." she said darkly turning Marinette to face her. Marinette opened her eyes to see her fourth older sister looking at her with a soft smile and tired bluebell eyes looking at her she hugged Marinette and she hugged back. " you calm now little one" mina asked for couples of minute later petting Marinette back she and Marinette was sitting Madeline's bed she was at school right now she doesn't mind they sat on her bed Marinette nodded "yeah I'm fine thank you." Marinette said giving a sad smile   " I am so glad your here." tikki said coming up to the older woman giving her a hug on the face the woman giggled at this "well I'm happy to be here too." mina smiled but her smiled turn to a concerned look at Marinette.   "Marinette did I tell you a time where I was in the same position as you?" she asked Marinette give her a look that confirm that she never did "no. I don't think you did you were in the same place that I am in right now?"   "yes, dear sister I was. you see Marinette the problem that you are too nice and people see that as a weakness meaning that you're a push over and that you will take shit from people and that you don't know how to say no. but it adds up when you have amazing talent and we live in a bakery so it meaning by having all these things it doesn't take long on why they are keeping you around."   Marinette eyes want wide in realized looking away from her sister the world was slowly coming down on Marinette all this time when they invited her to hang out with them, the times when they asked her for things with hope in their eyes or knowing that she'll will never say no, or the time she bring in fresh bake goods and have not even given a 'thank you' all the time when she make them clothes and throwing them parties for them and have she even  heard a 'thank you Marinette or thanks you're the best!' she put time and effort into the things she do for them but not once a 'thank you'. Marinette covered her mouth feeling sick she ran to her trash can and begin to threw up her dinner she had earlier tonight "Marinette!" tikki exclaimed going to her holder checking if she alright " I- I'm fine tikki." Marinette said wiping her mouth mina looked on sadness in her eyes "I am so sorry Marinette they were only using you to get free things from you they were never your friends to begin with." mina said her voice cracked a bit " and I know how it feels when you thought that someone was your friend but not really. I have to learn that the hard way when a new pair of twin sisters came to my school i could still remember the look on my so called friends face when they  saw them it was like they were getting a new toy for Christmas and me I was just an old toy that they no longer needed." mina eyes stared at nothing as she recalled a long almost forgotten memories all of her friends going to a those girls looking at them with aw in their eyes have completely forgotten her the pain in her heart when they only come to her when they needed something ,the pain when they no longer invited her to their parties or come to hers ,it pains hers when she ask them to hang out they see her as too clingy. it feel her so much with hatred for the new girls and sadness and when she vented to her sisters and they her to take back what was hers, but when she said what if were not hers to begin with and her sisters simple said make them regret for living you behind and she did just that. " Dà jiějiě?"   mina eyes snapped back on to her sister and her kwami looking worried at her she gives a weak smile "I'm fine little ones but I have to tell you this." she said beeping Marinette and tikki noses they both laughed mina looked at them there were so pure and care free but her smile slowly fell she looked away more tired  and stressed "Marinette when I was your ages I vented to my sisters about what been going on at school we didn't go to the same school though i wish they did I would make things so much easier when going. did you know I was known to be the most popular girl in school."   " whoa really I didn't know that!" Marinette exclaimed in excitement mina nodded "yes I didn't even knew so imagine my surprise when walking around school and my allow classmates is saying 'looks like the old queen bee is friendless now'. I was so confused by this and I have to ask them what they mean they said ' stop playing games.' when they notice that I was not playing games they looked at me in shocked and begin saying 'that I was queen of the school because the things I did for my class and for the school as a whole!' and that when I realized it that not only I lost my friends for a pair of twins but I lost my crown and I was overthrow and my friends wanted new a queen. so when I told our sisters that they said to 'take back what was mine.' when I said ' what if it was not my to begin with.' they simple said ' make them regret for living me behind.' that what I did not only I made life at that school so unbearable that most students ended up leaving I was able to get my crown back from the twins but I was still know to be the sweetest girl at school and my 'friends' come back to me asking to hang out with them. it was so funny in a way I was threw away when I was no later needed but when I came back new and fix, they wanted me again." she chuckled softly it was funny in a way all though times when they hanged out the many sleep overs, the parties it was only to drag her into a false sense of security the only thing they wanted from her was skills in fashion and her baking that was all they wanted. they even have to keep up being friends with her for not noticing  that she was being used she can't count how many times they forgot her birthday's. " how?" "what do you mean how?"   "i mean how was your able to make the school unbearable and still be known as the sweetest girl in school?"   mina pause at the question than she smiles it wasn't her normal smile it was more sinister "well let's just say that when you know to be the sweetest girl and having many boys that is willing to do anything for you well the rest is history."   "what you use some poor boys feelings to get what you want!?" Marinette said in shock mina rolled her eyes and waved her hand "oh we were teenagers back than you know how teenagers' boys are like and girls their hormones are everywhere they can't even think straight if you show a bit of skin to them! I even hated when I was sent home because my school skirts which I can say they give me was to short I can't help it if get a little bit taller every school year! but I have to say playing with those feelings was pretty fun!"   "I don't know about this Dà jiějiě I just don’t have many boys going after me the only friends I have outside and inside of school is luke, kagami and Aurore they are my only friends. and if I did, I don't want to use there feeling for me to get what I want but I still have hope for my friends." "Marinette didn't you made a strong realized that they are only using to get free stuff from you?" Marinette started to stammered " umm I mean well they always thank me before doing many things for them." she said quickly mina raised a bow "that was than this is now love. it been months when that liar came to your school, you calling her out on her bullshit your friends turning their back on you and they still ask you for shit have they thought about you or they think you have a lot of free time on your hands or about your feelings?"
Marinette opened and closed her mouth trying think of something to defend her friends but nothing came to mind " but how Chloe and Lila are the new queens of the school how am I going to take their crowns? I’m pretty much sure they are working together."
"oh, Marinette dear." mina said putting both her hands-on Marinette's shoulders "you know Lila is a liar so use her lies against her. if she can make good lies you can make better ones. make her think that you are going a part of her lies. be friends with her than slowly turn the class against her with every lie she tells make up a better one. and as for Chloe maybe with lying girl help you can take her down. they can be only one queen in school and having two is asking for trouble." a deep chucked came from her throat she hugged Marinette "I tell you more in the morning now go to bed we have a long day tomorrow!" she told Marinette who looked confused "huh what do you mean?" she asked   "you're coming with me to the Agreste mansion I have a meeting which i forgotten about so dress up for your best love you night!" mina said quickly leaving Marinette in her room alone and confused "umm tikki did you know what just happened?" Marinette asked tikki shook her head confused as her holder "she right Marinette we should head to bed right now." tikki said looking at Marinette. Marinette nodded putting on her pjs and getting into her bed that she and Mandy shared she wish Mandy was here but she wanted to have a overdo sleepover with her best friend, she told Marinette she'll be back in a weeks' time but for now she has sleep alone. Marinette gave out a tried sigh her eyes was getting heavy with that she closed her eyes and went to sleep.
okay so know that story I did for the miraculous sisters au so here is mina a well feared business woman that live in new York and here what she look like:

Unreleased Caleb Barnett Interview From 2018
Not everything you write or do ends up getting published, but always keep your work in case someone references it, and remembers the interview… going differently than you do.
Caleb Barnett Interview January 2018 By Christian Senrud It’s been a while since an am really stood out to me. Admittedly, I’m getting older and I don’t dedicate as much time to keeping up with all the names and faces, sponsor changes, so a lot of the videos and various posts can tend to blend together in the daily deluge of “content” in a failing mind such as mine. But every now and then something surfaces and reminds you how awesome skateboarding is. When Hockey III released and Caleb opened up the video to a rattling industrial background track, it showcased a brand of skating that looks as natural and gnarly coming out today as it would in basically any era. It’s the kind of raw, no bullshit skating that gives a rider a timeless aspect to their talent and style. We only got a taste of what Caleb can do, so far, but riding for a company like Hockey and being in the van with guys like AVE or Nakel looking out for him, chances are there’s a lot more we’ll be lucky to see from him in the future. I don’t envy the ams of today and tomorrow. How anyone stands out in a sea of hungry and talented kids is somewhat of a mystery. How does someone coming up set themselves apart from all the others without forcing it or inevitably faking some aspect of their style or personality or relying on the crutch of a gimmick? It’s not a new question, nor is it a new phenomenon. It’s always been a giant part of the skateboarding equation. Some people just have a little extra light to shine, some unquantifiable quality to them that makes us keep watching and wanting more. So with all that in mind and with Caleb’s Hockey III part playing on repeat in the background, I was happy to give the young man a call to find out a bit more about who he is and his story so far. Who are all your sponsors? Hockey, Nike, Stussy, that’s pretty much it right now
How old are you? 20 What are you up to today? I might go skate later but right now I’m watching Netflix. Chilling. What’s your average day-to-day in LA? Well right now, I tore my meniscus when I went to Hawaii so I haven’t really been skating that much recently, but pretty much all I do is skate every day and hang out with friends. How’d you tear your meniscus? I was trying to noseblunt some shoot-out ledge and slipped out and fell back on my knee. I also popped my shoulder out of place at the same time. Was that it for the trick or did you keep trying? It took me out. I had to go to the hospital to get my shoulder popped back in place. I’ve done physical therapy. Now I’m just chilling, trying to skate a little more every day. Nak was saying you’re a warrior and won’t quit on tricks, like you’ll try something until you physically can’t or you’ve thrown up while trying a trick, so if that’s the case how’d you get the nickname “Big Baby”? Hell nah? Who said that? I mean, that’s just what someone told me. Is it not true? Nah, I mean I wouldn’t want myself known as Big Baby. Yeah, I doubt most people would, but is there a story behind it or why would someone tell me that? I have no clue. Maybe because I have a baby face, I don’t know. And maybe because you’re seven feet tall? Yeah. How tall are you actually? Are you openly tall? I’m 6’4.” How long have you been on Hockey and what was the process like getting on the team? Well I moved to LA when I was like 17, so like 3 years pretty much now. I’m friends with Sage and whatnot and he first got me hooked up with some Converse shoes, and then he randomly texted me one day and was like, “Do you want to get FA boards,” or whatever. It wasn’t really like Hockey or FA; I would just go to the warehouse and get stuff from either Hockey or FA. After that I was just getting hooked up, getting boxes and whatnot, but I was actually staying out in Moore Park, California, and that’s like far [from LA]. So I was working and not really able to skate that much. Then Nak was kind of just like, “I’ll get a spot in L.A. and you can stay with me out here.” So I ended up doing that, and I went on a trip last December with FA and Hockey, and I got on from there. They were like, “You want to skate for Hockey?” and I was down. I quit my job. You quit your job so you’d be able to skate more? That’s what’s up. Where were you working? I was working at some sports memorabilia place. It was in the mall. So like selling autographs, pennants and jerseys? Yeah, hats and shirts, coffee mugs…
Are you interested in that kind of stuff or was it just sort of a job so you could get by? I was just looking for a job and they wanted me to work there I guess, so I just took that job and was working there. Do you actually like Hockey, the sport? I think it’s interesting, yeah. I like hockey. I like how you can fight in it. A little bit, they let you fight. They kind of self-regulate. Yeah. Did you ever bring anything home from work? Did you have to deal with gnarly sports fans or anything? It just depends. Sometimes there would be some annoying-ass customers. They’d be super into sports and try to talk to me about sports. They’d come in and be like, “So did you see the so and so game?” and I’d just be like, “Nah.” I mean, I fuck with sports, but not to the point where I’m gonna talk to some old-ass dude about what Kobe Bryant was doing. Maybe with some homies, but not with some old man. But you never scored any jerseys or anything that you could sell on eBay? Nah, I didn’t really care to, I guess. I would just go to work and pretty much just watch skate videos the whole time.
How long do you think it is until skate stuff is going to be in those kinds of stores? I don’t know. It would have to be a long time probably. Once the Olympics start rolling in with all that. It would take a while for that. That’d be crazy if they do have stores like that, with skate memorabilia. That’d actually be kind of sick now that I think about it, haha. You’re from Detroit originally right? I was actually born in Columbus, Ohio. And then when I was like three, I moved to Detroit until I was like 12. Then I moved to Arizona and I stayed in Arizona until I was 17, then moved to LA.
Where were you when you started skating? Arizona. I’ve heard some pretty racist shit about Arizona. Was it hard growing up there, or was it like anywhere else in America pretty much. I wasn’t really around any racist areas, so I wouldn’t really know that much. I have heard that people say it is pretty racist, but nobody was ever super racist to me out there or anything. So when you moved to California, was that to try to make it in skating, or were you just trying to get out of your hometown? I was just trying to get out of Arizona. I liked California because I would go out there when I was younger. My friends would take me on little trips there, and it would be fun every time I went. I was just like “I want to just live out here.” It just feels more alive there, so I graduated high school then moved out. Was there any kind of initial culture shock when you got to LA? Had you ever lived on your own? I’ve been pretty much been couch surfing. Staying at people’s houses. You haven’t paid rent or anything yet? Nah.
Hell yeah, keep that up for as long as you can. Haha, I want to though, so I can have my own spot. I’m gonna start paying my own rent. Does couch surfing make bringing a chick home hard? Well, I have a girlfriend now, so it’s not even an issue. I mainly just be at her crib, but I couldn’t really imagine being trashed and trying to like, hanging out with a chick and just being on the couch. But I could go back to their crib. It’s almost not even worth being a single dude and getting a place, because you just end up moving in together and it’s all their shit and you get rid of your stuff anyway. Yeah, haha. I heard your lady’s dad is a director? No, her grandma is. Her grandma directed, like, The Decline of Western Civilization or something like that, and Suburbia, movies like that. She also did Wayne’s World. How’d you meet her? What does she do? I just met her while I was out with my friends, and my friends kind of knew her and I seen her at a party one time and we just hit it from there. She works for her grandma. She’s on her own shit. Has anything really changed since Hockey III came out? Yeah, it has changed. I went to this Whole Foods up the street from my house right after the video came out and some dude that was working there recognized me from the video and gave me some free acai bowl. I was like, “What the fuck?” It was sick. What’s the whole vibe at FA to you? It seems like it’s got a real thing going that a lot of classic teams have had over the years where it’s actually a bunch of friends that skate and hang out together rather than a team that was put together. It’s pretty welcoming, yeah. It’s like a family. It’s nice, like Glen [Hammerle] and whatnot are super cool. Everybody there is cool as fuck. Have you spent a lot of time with AVE or Dill? I’ve spent more time with AVE because I’ve gone on trips with him. I just recently got off a Hockey trip with him, but I haven’t really spent as much time with Dill, because he’s busy and I haven’t gone on any trips with him, but I’ve kicked it with him and gone skating with him. Is it intimidating being around AVE? Haha, he’s super mellow. I don’t say that much around him, but he’s not a dick or anything. He’s super nice. So how’d you meet Sage originally? Just being around. LA is weird; you just meet people. I actually met him a long time ago before I’d ever lived in LA. I was at Supreme and he was there and we were just chillin’, skated the bowl a little bit. I think he was getting hooked up with Alien boards and Gravis shoes and whatnot; it was a long time ago. I hadn’t seen him in a long time then we met up again, somehow linked up and he helped me out. Did you meet Nak through him? Nah, me and Nak just met through skating randomly. Then when he found out I was getting hooked up with FA boards and whatnot we started skating more and hanging out, and became cool. With getting stuff from Nike, Stussy, and Hockey, are you getting paid now where you can live, or is it still a hustle? Yeah, I’m on Nike now, so I’m starting to get money or whatever. Next year, I’ll be more set I think where I could move out. More comfortable at least. Yeah. I don’t know if I just want to jump right into getting my own place as soon as I start getting money. I want to save and be smart about my money. Yeah, you can’t just blow it as soon as it starts coming in. Yeah, gotta get my savings going and everything. Did you get that mentality from your parents? Nah, I didn’t really get that from my family. My mom tells me to save my money because she didn’t really do that I guess. She’s like a nurse now. I’m just learning from people’s mistakes and the homies that have been in my position. Now they tell me like, “Make sure you do your taxes and save,” and everything. Everybody just be looking out for me and what should I do. I’m just kind of learning on my own and from the people I surround myself with. Is your mom still out in AZ? Yeah, I’m actually going out there tomorrow. She’s going to move to Arkansas and get some land. So where’d all you go on that Hockey tour? That was to premiere the video in shops right? We went to New Jersey, Chicago, Ohio, Iowa, and Kansas. It was pretty long. Well it felt long, but it was like 10 days. It was fun as fuck though. I didn’t really get to skate on that trip though, which had me pissed, because I was still hurt. I’m still kind of hurt. Did you run into any shenanigans while on the road? This last one we didn’t really have to deal with the cops or anything, but I remember the first trip I went on it was pretty fucking crazy. John got arrested. It was funny as fuck. It was crazy, just random. I went to a strip club. I’d never gone to one before. How did you enjoy your first strip club experience? It was trash! I was in El Paso, Texas, like right on the border of Mexico and it was crazy. I was like, “Hell no.” I guess it wasn’t a great first strip club experience. What made the strip club so bad? It was just a shit strip club. The girls were gnarly. I seen some chick in there with a c-section cut on her stomach, she had a scar. She was older. That shit wild. Were any of the other guys super into it? Haha. I don’t know. I didn’t really get to see. I only stayed there for probably 20 minutes, then me and Nak and Ben were off it. But John and Cody Green were there and probably loved it. They didn’t leave with us, so they probably had fun. Well it can only get better I guess. I don’t even know, I don’t even care about strip clubs. It’s cool, I just be thinking like, “If this was someone in my family or some shit…” I’m just thinking of the girls’ families. I don’t know why I’m so serious about it, but I just look at it differently and see the sadness behind it. I’m not into it. Yeah, I’m not really into them either. I don’t even like going to Hooters and that’s just girls in go-go shorts at a chicken wing place. So why did John get arrested on that trip? I think he was a little buzzed probably and he went to the wrong hotel. There were like two hotels, and there was one across the street from us, and I think he went to the wrong hotel thinking it was ours and was trying to get into the room. Somebody probably called the cops on him. “A giant, drunk man is trying to get into my room!” Haha, yeah. So we would link up every morning in the courtyard of the hotel, and the next morning he was just not there. So we were just like what the hell’s going on and AVE called the sheriff’s office or jail or something, and they’re like, “Yeah, we have a John Fitzgerald.” I forgot that he didn’t get out right then, because that was in the morning and he got released later on. We were skating at some spot in Tucson, like the classic block spot or whatever, and he just linked us up with us there. Have you been locked up at all? Nah. Good. It sucks. Yeah I have not gone. I’ve gotten hemmed up by the cops before though, like cuffed and the whole deal. And I was in a weird neighborhood too by this skatepark called Lafayette in L.A., like Carl’s Jr. park. I guess I jaywalked. It was like no cars, but this cop just so happened to not have his lights on and he just flashed his lights on me and the homie and was like, “Get on the pavement!” He put me in handcuffs. I was like, young, and I had a little bit of weed in my pocket. I was scared as fuck. He didn’t even trip about the weed or anything. He let me get my weed back and everything. It was pretty funny. I was like, “Oh shit, it’s pretty mellow out here in L.A.” They’re definitely way more mellow about weed in California than in Arizona. Yeah, Arizona is whack with that. You think Arizona will ever come around or are they just going to be stuck in their ways? I feel like…I don’t know. There’s a lot of weirdos out there. Maybe they don’t want weed to be legal. They probably don’t even though I know a lot of people who smoke weed out there. Maybe they can’t grow it in the desert so they wouldn’t be able to make the good money off it, so they don’t care to make it legal. I mean they could have it shipped in. It wouldn’t be hard. So the cops cuffed you up for jaywalking? That seems really severe. In your experience do you think that cops profile black men specifically more than other people? Maybe. I guess they do target African Americans people sometimes. It just depends on the cop. I don’t want to say all cops are like that, but I can’t front, they do press on a darker skin tone. I’ve always been curious if skateboarding ever helps out with that, like if you’re getting profiled and a cop makes some general assumption about whatever a young black man might be up to, but then sees you with a skateboard if they have to reevaluate their assessment? Uh huh. That is true. Skating does do that. It makes them more chill when they see the board, they’re like, “Oh, skater kid. He not really in the streets like that.” But some cops don’t give a fuck. So did you know in advance, that Hockey III was how they were going to introduce you to the team? Yeah I knew that video was going to be how they’d introduce me. It wasn’t a surprise. It happened fast though. I want to film more. How long did you film for that? Probably like 6 months maybe? 4 months? But I’d only skate with Benny so many times. It wasn’t like I’d be out skating with him every day or something. I feel like it was chill for how everything was going down. I was trying hard to focus. Every time I would go out I would try to get a clip. Nak was saying that you don’t quit until you absolutely have to, that he’s seen you throw up from trying so many times. Where do you get that kind of drive? It was just like…the time, me filming this video part and shit was crazy. It was around a time where I was thinking about my life and what was going on, just home life and everything. I guess that was just my push. I didn’t want to live in Moore Park, California, like dumb far away from everything. I wanted to do something with skating, I guess. That was my push and I was like, “Fuck it, I’ll try anything. I’ll bust my ass.” That’s really what pushed me, just family and thinking about home and whatnot. And not wasting an opportunity. Yeah I was not trying to be some kid who just ends up being flow for F.A. or something, you know? I didn’t want to blow it. It would’ve bummed people out that I knew back home. Yeah, and people have a way of getting comfortable, thinking like, “Oh I made it,” when they haven’t really done anything yet. Exactly and Nake kept me on top of that, because he’s always pushing me. All the time. He’s always like, “Let’s go get a clip, let’s go do this, let’s go do that.” He would let me know that being flow, it’s not like you’re on. It’s just a let’s see what this person can do, how much he wants it. And Nak’s a good example too, because he obviously kills it, but he’s also having a great time and enjoying the ride while not taking shit for granted. Yeah, that’s why I like living here. I feel like that’s helping me out a lot, just being surrounded by Nak. He taught me a lot. What about home was motivating you? Was it something specific or just not wanting to have to come home hat in hand type of thing? Yeah, I guess it was just family shit was making me want to go harder, and just not moving back there. Even if I wasn’t sponsored or whatever in LA, I would still want to live out there regardless of skating. Yeah, LA’s got its faults but it’s all right. So what’s next for you? I’ll be working on some Nike stuff and started filming with Benny again. I just want to film whatever, just film for whatever’s next, whatever they got planned. Well that’s about all I got unless you got anything else you want to say. The 917 video was sick! That’s all I gotta say ‘cause I heard that somebody over at Jenkem was talking shit on 917, but I love 917. Those are the homies. That interview was funny, or whatever they were saying. It was random. Everyone was just confused. I was in New York and somebody, I think it was Logan [Lara], was like, “Look at this,” and it was them talking about Aiden. I don’t know, like was that a joke or was that somebody serious? Was it the article “The World That The 917 Created?” Yeah, something like that, saying like that it was a remake of KIDS or something. I don’t know, the 917 video was sick. That’s all I have to say.

Taakitz: Crossover
What up!! It’s November!! Literally my only note to myself when writing this story was, and this is a direct copy-paste from my google doc, “For the love of god i gotta keep this one short or I’ll lose my mind.” AND NOW I HAVE 9k+ WORDS SO???
A thousand thank you’s to the folks behind @taakitzweek - participating was a joy and a privilege and gifted me this AU that I’m pretty sure will live in my heart forever. To be posted in six parts over the course of the next week. Please enjoy part one of Speed Trap, a b99 styled, white collar inspired, non-magical modern au where Taako does a crime and Kravitz absolutely does not get paid enough to deal with it. Warning for a paraphrase of the ‘tentacle your dick’ quote.
It wasn’t Taako’s fault that he got fired. The product was damaged, some kid was clumsy in the back of the shop, so the manager told Taako to throw out it. Sure, the eyeshadow palette was cracked, but other than that it was perfectly fine. Some pigment from the blue crossed into the green, but honestly, Taako had several outfits that would be amazing with that unique shade of teal. So the product was supposed to go in the trash, instead it ended up in Taako’s pocket. There was almost no difference between the two, especially when he changed out of his work uniform and into his black skinny jeans that were all but threadbare.
But then he was in the parking lot, sitting on the hood of his car and nowhere near the store, when his manager thought it’d be a great time to remind him that smoking would be the death of him. Seriously, Taako was off the clock and even if he wasn’t, his manager wasn’t his mom, don’t tell him what to do.
“Hey, why do you have one of our palettes in your pocket?”
So now Taako didn’t have a job. Again. He’d been lucky to score that easy gig, to have some sort of start at paying off his loans, but now he was blacklisted from the entire mall. And it wasn’t like he could work in any of the restaurants nearby because his asshole ex-boyfriend had literally soured every contact they had in the food industry.
Taako had three degrees to his name. He was an engineer and a chef, but even before his credibility was destroyed, the only thing his fancy education brought him was a bank account perpetually in the red.
“Hey Koko, you’re home early.” Lup shrugged off her uniform jacket and went directly to the fridge. Living with his sister was the best thing to happen to him since coming back from the nightmare Paris had turned into. She had a steady job, a dangerous one, but she was never late to pay rent like he always seemed to be. She was so patient with him, it almost felt unfair. She really should have kicked him out by now; instead, she constantly reminded him that his luck would change any day now. He’d catch his break, or there was always a job for him at the station.
He appreciated her offer, he really did, but Taako he knew he wouldn’t survive a day being a police officer. The idea of him being in uniform and competently saving lives was laughable. He barely managed to handle the stress of knowing his sister was putting her life on the line for this shitty city.
“Uh, yeah.” And he could not handle the stress of her knowing he got fired again.
“Everything okay? I know you’re manager’s a jerk but maybe-“
“They actually got fired today.” What? No, stop. He was not lying to his sister, she’d see right through him. Instead, Lup turned around grinning. “Yeah and um, I’m the new manager. Regional position, actually, pretty nice.”
“Taako!” She was hugging him and he felt sick. “That’s amazing! I told you things would turn around!” What happened to twin telepathy? Why did she believe him? Why was he lying to her??
She said something about a date with Barry, but Taako was barely listening. Now that he was thinking about it, it wasn’t surprising that she believed him; they didn’t keep things from each other, she had no reason to suspect anything.
Home alone again, the smart thing to do would be to tell her the truth. Text her. It would maybe ruin her date, but at least the fall out would be buffered until she got back home. Besides, date night with Barry meant the two of them were shopping for Mr. and Mrs. suitcase sets or some other gross couple-y nonsense. There wasn’t much to ruin. She’d be mad, but in time, everything would be fine.
Just sitting on the couch, phone in hand as he hovered over the digital keyboard, he was already nauseous from her imagined anger. Getting fired again was bad enough, but lying to her? Why did he say that?
The smart thing to do would be telling the truth. But the Taako thing to do would be to make the truth. He said he got promoted, new job, new hours, new money. All he had to do was find that job.
Next morning, he was out of the house before she even woke up. Note on the fridge, something vague about new hours for manager training and a breakfast pastry waiting for her, and she wouldn’t suspect a thing. Taako wasn’t sure where he was going to find this new truth of a job, but it had to be out there. The mall by the house wasn’t an option, but there were other malls and he had gas to burn after swiping that seemingly unlimited gift card off of some rich asshole a few months back.
Speeding down the highway, Taako forced himself to be hopeful. It was the tail end of fall, places would be hiring. The kids to help with the summer rush all had classes again and stores wanted to start preparing for the holiday rush. Lup was right, even if she didn’t know the whole picture. His luck was turning.
But maybe that luck was taking a smoke break as he heard sirens behind him. Glancing in the mirror, a cop car tailed him down the freeway. “Bullshit,” Taako cursed as he pulled over. Everyone sped down this stretch, why was he being pulled over?
He rolled down his window and was treated to someone glaring at him through a large pair of aviators. “Sir, do you know how fast you were going?” Ridiculous sunglasses matched with an equally ridiculous accent. No way that was real.
Taako couldn’t help himself, losing the fight against the grin taking over his face. “Blimey, officer, I ain’t sure.” It’d been over a decade since his and Lup’s high school stardom in a rather strange retelling of Oliver Twist but Taako’s accent was still more believable than the officer’s.
The officer’s brow twitched and then the glasses came off as though Taako’s joke might have somehow been a trick of his lenses. “Excuse me?” The accent was faltering worse now, but without the glasses, Taako was able to fully appreciate the man’s face.
“Oh wow, if all the cops were as handsome as you, I’d maybe be tempted to follow all the laws.”
The handsome man’s face twisted further in confusion. “What is wrong with you? I’m giving you a speeding ticket and you’re hitting on me?”
Taako just shrugged, but then the threat of a ticket finally sunk in. “Wait, shit, a ticket? Come on, I couldn’t have been going that fast.”
“I’ve certainly seen faster on this street, but eighty in a fifty five still isn’t great.”
Taako did the math real quick, facts and figures from Lup’s studying for the academy still fresh in his mind even though she’d graduated years ago. There was no way he could afford a ticket for going that high over the limit. “Okay hold on, hot stuff. Can’t you cut me a break? First time offense and all?”
“Not five seconds ago, you admitted to me that the lack of attractive police force was contribution to your history of crime.” His tone was turning amused now, seeming to enjoy the way the conversation had slipped back into his control. His smile was unfairly charming, even if the accent was still disastrous.
Taako couldn’t afford to be distracted though. “I’m not a criminal! Dude, come on, I will give you everything in my wallet if you don't ticket me.”
“Bribing an officer? I do not want to deal with the paperwork for that. Just stay here.” He started back to his squad car and Taako leaned out the window to holler after him.
“Come on, hot stuff, don’t be like this! At least lemme get that name, I’m about to suck your dick for free if I can’t do it to get out of a ticket!”
The officer ignored him, coming back to throw a slip of paper through Taako’s window. His sunglasses were back on, covering some of his face but not enough to hide the blush from what Taako had been shouting at him. “Do me a favor, Mr. Taako? Be a criminal in some other district because I would love to never ticket you again.”
At least the piece of paper gave Taako a name: K. Queen. Not that it meant anything with one of the most common last names in the city. Besides, Taako couldn’t exactly try to hook up with someone if he got arrested for overdue fines. Long after the officer drove off, Taako sat in his own car on the side of the highway. The price mocked him from the piece of paper, like it knew he’d never afford it and rent at the same time.
Another car zoomed past him, easily going over the eighty Taako had been caught for. If only he could pull over that guy, charge him in order to pay off his own ticket. It’d be fair- there were drunk drivers and reckless assholes all over this stupid city. They should be getting ticketed, not him!
Wait… That wasn’t a bad idea.
[Part Two]
Please come scream at me in my ask box about this AU because even after I post all of this fic I might write little bonuses for it. And thanks so much for reading! I know I am well past the taakitz week deadline for posting this. If you want to, check out my charmedwords tag for more taz fics!

Buster: Rio, just leave Buster: It's what you're gonna wanna do anyway Rio: I can't 'til your family is back Rio: Why? Buster: Please Buster: I can't do this Rio: But you have to? Buster: I don't know Buster: I don't fucking know anymore what I have to do Rio: Alright Rio: You've got to decide right now? Buster: The decision's already been made Rio: Okay Rio: Who by? Buster: Chlo as per Rio: What's she done now? Buster: Don't Rio: What can I do? Rio: Or do you want your Dad or? Buster: I don't want any of you Rio: What do you want? Buster: Like that matters Buster: It's all fucked Rio: It does Buster: To you maybe Buster: For as long as that's about to last Rio: Definitely Rio: I'm not going anywhere Buster: You can't say that Buster: You don't know Rio: I can Rio: Talk to me Buster: Fine, but you asked for this Buster: You should've just left Buster: Chlo's pregnant. She says it's mine Rio: Ah Rio: That explains it Buster: Is that all you've got to say? Rio: I don't know what to say Rio: Just, I get it Buster: No you don't Buster: You can't Rio: I'm not saying that Rio: I get why your room is trashed Buster: Well, cheers Buster: Come up if you wanna smash something yourself Rio: Jesus Buster: And if not, you know now so you can go Rio: No Buster: Yes Rio: I'm not going Buster: I'm not gonna cry on your shoulder about this so where does that leave us? Rio: I don't know Buster: Let me know when you figure it out, like Rio: What, you get to not know but I've got to work it all out Buster: Not really my decision what you wanna do, is it Rio: Well Rio: I don't fucking know Buster: You and me both, babe Rio: What is she doing? Buster: Keeping it Buster: And hopefully a DNA like I asked Rio: Right Rio: and if it's yours, what are you doing? Buster: Raising a kid with her Buster: Nothing else I can do Rio: There is but Rio: that's the right thing Buster: No there isn't Rio: Not the first or last Buster: Yeah 'cause that worked out so well for Drew and your sister Rio: Well, how the hell do you reckon this is this going to work out well Rio: you hate her Rio: she's Rio: a mess Buster: It won't Buster: But at least I'll have tried instead of just giving up Buster: Same as how I tried to tell her its a bad idea to have this kid Rio: This is fucked Rio: she can't be a mum Buster: I know Buster: But maybe it won't be my kid and she won't be my problem either Rio: Yeah but maybe it will Buster: Well it's not like I can sub you in to be the kid's mum instead Rio: Shut up Rio: How is she so stupid Rio: Jesus fucking Christ Buster: How am I? Buster: It is what it is Rio: Why isn't she on the pill Rio: who isn't in this day and age it ain't hard Buster: Feel free to hit her up and ask Buster: She's very keen to be your friend anyway, like Rio: What? Buster: [Sends the Rio related relevant screenshots] Buster: We had a great chat Rio: She's Buster: I know Rio: Are you sure she's even pregnant Rio: she isn't taking this seriously Buster: I'm not sure of anything Buster: I don't even know if I actually fucked her so Rio: This is Rio: This is the worst thing that could've happened to you Buster: Tell me something I don't know, babe Rio: I can't Buster: Do you get now why I need you to fuck off Rio: No Rio: not really Buster: It's too much Buster: I can't do this Rio: That's not fair Buster: None of this is fair Buster: Or part of the plan Rio: so everything has to go to shit Rio: fine Buster: It already has Buster: Don't act like you're fine with having her around forever Buster: I have to be stuck with her, you don't Rio: Sounds like you've decided for me Buster: I can't do that Rio: You have though Rio: I've got the message Buster: Babe Rio: What Rio: I'm fucking off Buster: I'm sorry Buster: I just need you to know that before you go, okay Rio: No you don't and no you aren't Rio: because I didn't want to go and you aren't stopping me so Buster: You think I want you to go? Rio: You don't know what you want Rio: I didn't think that extended to me but it is what it is, yeah? Buster: Don't Buster: Of course I want you Buster: I'm just trying not to be a selfish cunt for once Buster: Isn't it hard enough doing this without all this bullshit added? Rio: It doesn't suit you Buster: Yeah, well, it's gonna have to start Buster: I can't be a selfish cunt with a kid, can I Buster: Time to change my suit, babe Rio: Good luck, Buster Buster: Rio, come on Buster: I don't want to leave it like this Rio: You're right though Rio: You have to Buster: But Rio: You know what you've got to do Rio: What is there to say? Buster: I love you Rio: I love you Buster: Don't go Rio: Nancy will be back with your parents in a minute Buster: I don't care Rio: I can't stand in the way of you doing the right thing can I Buster: Us being together is the right thing Buster: We both know that Rio: I don't think she'll agree Buster: She doesn't get a say in it Rio: What about your kid Buster: If it's mine, it's mine Buster: She can't change that if she decides she wishes it wasn't Rio: But it's not fair to put this shit on it Rio: there will already be enough from the situation with her Rio: never mind adding this Buster: I know but she's already ruined so much Buster: I can't just let her take everything Buster: I don't get to go to America and I don't get to be with you either Buster: Fuck that Rio: I know Rio: It's fucked and I really am sorry Rio: it's just fucked Buster: It's only fucked 'cause I fucked it all up Buster: You don't need to be sorry Rio: It wasn't even you that's the worst part Rio: I can't be angry because it was so wrong and weird and horrible Buster: You can be angry at me for going out and getting in that state though. I am Rio: It won't change that it happened, and it definitely won't change that there's going to be a kid Buster: Nothing will Buster: Not how much I don't want it or how much I want you Rio: No Rio: I know Buster: You still get to react to it how you want Rio: I don't want to be angry Rio: I'm tired of it Rio: I wanted to be with you Buster: So come upstairs Buster: Be with me Rio: No Rio: I can't Buster: Why not? Rio: Because you're only doing it because you don't want to think about this anymore Rio: and I can't deal with knowing that Buster: I want you to stay 'cause I love you Rio: Your parents are going to be here soon and you're going to have to tell them Rio: One thing at a time, yeah Buster: I can't tell them while Nance is here Buster: Let's just both go and I'll do it later Rio: Better she hears it from you than her Rio: though yeah, it's going to be fucking awful Buster: She won't say anything, her parents don't even know yet Rio: You suddenly trust her? Buster: She seemed actually bothered about that Rio: Well who wants to tell their parents they're knocked up Rio: not even a boyfriend in sight Buster: She wants me to tell them with her Buster: I said I would Rio: Jesus Christ, Buster Rio: Why don't you just marry her Buster: Don't Buster: I couldn't say no, she asked me and it's not like I wanna tell mine Buster: I'd love to have someone in my corner for it, like Rio: Yes you could Rio: You aren't together, that's such a ridiculous thing to ask Rio: what kind of message do you think it sends to her and her 'rents when you wanna show up all honourable fuck's sake Buster: I was just trying to help Buster: I thought she was scared about it Rio: More fool you Rio: Honestly Buster: I'm an idiot, alright Buster: Whatever Buster: I'm not saying I handled any of the convo well Rio: Because it was a fucking farce Rio: she's probably faking it Rio: who just drops it into a text conversation Rio: I don't buy it Buster: Me either honestly Buster: But we'll see what she comes back with evidence wise Buster: Shopping bags of Baby Gucci don't count, unfortunately Rio: Of course she has Rio: Stupid fucking girl Buster joined the chat 3 hours ago Buster: Like, the levels at which she is not taking this seriously or understanding how fucked any of this is Rio: It's concerning Rio: Maybe her parents will make her Rio: at least you can make sure she tells them if you're there I guess Buster: I mean, I know you don't think it's a good idea but I can also be there to correct any bullshit she tries to say to them Buster: I wouldn't be surprised if she says we're together, you know Rio: Well yeah, that's why she wants you there Rio: so it doesn't look like just a party hookup Buster: What the fuck am I actually gonna do, babe Rio: I don't know Rio: All I know is, you've got what, 8 months, 'til it's actually here so Buster: I'll say that for her, she's given me plenty of warning Rio: You know, hit you up for those push presents Rio: Fucking hell Buster: Don't Rio: I'm not laughing at you but Jesus if I don't Buster: I need a fucking drink Buster: Come with me Rio: Alright, I'll drive you Rio: I'll have to text your sister you know Rio: they'll be worried, more than they are already Buster: I'll do it Buster: I've gotta say sorry for how many times I told her to fuck off etc Buster: Should probably invite them all for drinks 'cause they're gonna need it but Rio: Okay Rio: Proud of you Buster: Don't Buster: I can't start laughing right now I don't trust it Rio: Let's just get you that drink then Buster: I'm not trying to drink alone and be that level of sad cunt, cheers Buster: I'll get us a cab Buster: Leave your car there Rio: Alright Rio: but I don't trust getting wasted Buster: Alright Buster: It's not like I can anyway, I'm gonna have to face the fam at some point Buster: Not as if I can just fly back without talking to them now Rio: Not really Buster: I need to stay here for a while Buster: I literally can't see Chlo until I calm down Buster: She's gone to a party tonight so Rio: Will they let you? Buster: They can't stop me Buster: But once I explain, they'll probably agree it's a good idea Rio: Once they see your room, like Buster: Don't take the piss out of me Rio: I'm not Rio: It's real Buster: Yeah Rio: Have you hurt yourself? Buster: I'm sure I would have noticed by now Rio: Let me come up and check Buster: I'll come down to you. You don't need to be dealing with this mess along with all the others Buster: If I leave a blood trail we'll know what's up, like Rio: Not funny Buster: You don't need to worry about me, babe Rio: That's a lie Buster: I'm alright, I promise Rio: Don't Buster: See for yourself Rio: That's not what I mean Buster: I know, but what can I say? Rio: Nothing if you're not going to be real Buster: Rio, come on Buster: Give me a break, will you? Rio: Seriously? Buster: Yeah, seriously Rio: Fuck off Rio: seriously Buster: Don't start Buster: Let's just go Rio: You go Buster: Babe Buster: Stop Buster: I don't need this from you right now, yeah? Rio: Oh, I'm sorry Buster: Why are you being like this? Rio: Don't be stupid Rio: just come on Buster: How am I being stupid, asking a fucking question? Buster: Just talk to me Rio: I'm fucking heartbroken, Buster Rio: and I don't know how to deal with any of this so give me a break too, alright Buster: I'm sorry Buster: I know, okay, this is so fucked Rio: I know you are Buster: Please don't go Rio: I won't Rio: I'm not Buster: I love you so much Rio: I know Rio: and I love you Rio: but you know that this is going to end it right Buster: Don't say that Rio: Even if we don't talk about it Buster: If you wanna end it then you end it Buster: Otherwise no Buster: It won't Rio: You can say that now Rio: but when the kid's here Buster: What? You think I'm gonna leave you Buster: How does that work? Rio: Because we don't get to work in the real world Buster: Shut up Buster: You don't know that Rio: I just know Rio: You're not going to want to explain it or deal with the backlash, when you've already got all that to contend with Buster: Fuck that, you're guessing Buster: And fuck you if you think I can't handle that Buster: I've gotta tell them about this kid, I want to tell them about you. It's different Rio: I don't want to make your life any harder Buster: You're the only one who doesn't do that Buster: I need you. Don't you know that? Buster: Everything will only be harder without you Rio: You're going to be a Dad Buster: If you wanna use this as your out, I can't blame you Rio: Don't say it like that Rio: I don't want an out, it's not like this is the perfect opportunity for me, fuck off Buster: It is though Buster: Then we don't have to tell your fam, I know you don't wanna do it anyway Rio: Just because I don't want to rush it Rio: Why is it so bad to keep things private Buster: It's not private, it's secret Rio: It had to be Buster: Says you but that doesn't mean I have to want to keep it like that Rio: Well, it's beside the point now isn't it Buster: No Rio: You've got so much more you have to focus on now Buster: I've always had a lot going on Buster: Find a better excuse, babe Rio: Exactly, it isn't just this kid Rio: it's school, all that Buster: It's hard, yeah, it'll get harder Buster: But I'm not just giving up Rio: Babe Buster: Do what you've gotta do Buster: I can't be mad about it Rio: Don't expect me to decide right now Buster: I'm not Buster: I don't have a fucking clue what I'm doing right now apart from losing my shit Rio: Sounds about right Rio: not like you were gonna cry with joy Buster: not like anyone is Buster: Chlo can bullshit all she likes but none of this was planned or how she really wants it Rio: Well, it's happening regardless so Rio: we'll all have to get used to it Buster: Yeah Rio: Cab's here Buster: Alright Buster: Are you still coming? Rio: Yeah Rio: Said I'd keep an eye on you Buster: Where are we going? Buster: The fewer people I have to see the better for them Buster: And us Rio: Don't worry, I know a place Buster: Good

Goldilocks || 02
Rated T (language and suggestive themes)
Summary: After getting evicted, your two best friends Jimin and Taehyung offer you a place to stay until you get back on your feet. Needless to say, with a part time job and a mountain of student debt, that’s not happening any time soon. Eventually, they DO become really fond of having you around, helping with chores and even splitting rent. So when you come home one day to find someone has been sleeping in your couch-bed, well… it’s something you won’t take lightly.
Word Count: 2k
Out of context Goldilocks quote: “What…? This can’t POSSIBLY be bad,” he purrs, “It’ll give you an excuse to come sleep with me.”

The room floods with darkness as you turn off the light, the same irrational thought going through your mind on replay.
Jungkook can’t catch you if he can’t see you.
“Wait,” his confused response is probably (hopefully) just instinctive, and you can hear him stumble around, falling off of the couch, kicking the coffee table.
Of course, you plan on doing anything BUT waiting. So, panic flooding your system, you attempt to find the doorknob in complete darkness, the storm outside letting no light through the windows.
With each second you spend groping the wall, Jungkook gets closer.
Heart hammering, your fingers find the cold metal and a rush of relief pulses through you… only to be torn away as you realize you locked the deadbolt.
The lights flick back on and your attention lingers on the boy poised at the switch just long enough to scramble underneath him, give his body a good shove, and physically INSIST that the lights STAY out.
Just the thought of seeing him, meeting his gaze, sends prickles across the back of your neck. TOUCHING him is another story. Jungkook, even in your brief contact, feels warm and solid and like a fucking BOULDER.
Not knowing what else to do, still unable to see, you make a break for the bathroom and lock yourself inside.
Before you pushed him, Jungkook had tried to talk to you, but his words fell on deaf ears, the panic too thick, your heartbeat too loud. Maybe he had been trying to reassure you. Maybe he had been trying to apologize for spilling his drink on your dress. Or maybe he simply wanted to yell at you for having slapped him afterward.
Whatever the case, the only thing you catch is an exasperated, “Well fine. Fucking be that way.”
Pins and needles caress your spine at his choice of words, but with your back against the door, you’re pretty sure you can hear him return to the couch and that’s better than confronting him.
It’s ridiculous really, you shouldn’t be this afraid of what he might do. Jungkook has given you NO reason to react like this, and yet…
Pulling out your phone, your fingers frantically dial the only number that will come to mind. Jimin picks up on the second ring, “Hey, ____. What’s up?”
“Why didn’t you say HE was going to be here?” you whisper-shout, gesturing wildly even though he can’t see you.
“Who-? Oh, Jungkook? Sorry. I was going to say something but I forgot…”
“Jimin!”
“SORRY! His dad kicked him out and how could I not give him a place to crash?”
“But where am I supposed to sleep now?” you begin pacing, free arm wrapped tightly across your chest.
“Dude-”
“Don’t DUDE me.”
“____, look, just do me a favor and live with it for a day or two until he figures something out, alright? We took you in. It’s not like I can’t offer him the same thing.”
“Yeah, but we, the three of us, were BEST FRIENDS, Chim. You KNOW how I feel about Jungkook.”
Jimin sighs and you can imagine him running his fingers through his hair in frustration, “Honestly, I don’t even know why you hate him so much.”
You pause at that, not knowing how to respond because really, there ISN’T a good reason. He ruined a dress, you slapped him, it should be even, but the cocktail of terror, embarrassment, and RAGE inside of your chest is only just now coming to a gentle simmer instead of a violent boil.
Your friend calls you on your bullshit immediately, “See, YOU don’t even know. Give the kid a chance.”
“Fine,” you sigh, hanging up without a goodbye to spite him. Give Jungkook a chance? You glance at the door, the image of that irritating golden fringe flashing behind your eyelids.
You call Taehyung.
“Hey baby,” he greets you cheerfully, but lowly. That’s when you remember he’s still in class.
“Is now a bad time?”
“Nah, I stopped paying attention like twenty minutes ago.”
You can’t help but smile at his carefree attitude. But then you remember Jungkook.
“Babe, you remember Chim’s birthday party?” you whisper, halting your pacing to shrug off your rain soaked jacket and throw it in the sink to be dealt with later.
“Sure. Kind of. I got a little drunk. So like…at least seventeen percent.”
“That’s actually a really good percentage for you.”
“I know right?” he sounds amused, “Anyway, what about it?”
“Jimin is letting that Jungkook kid stay at the apartment,” you fume, also kicking off your boots and soggy socks.
“Oh fun! Another movie buddy.”
“No, Tae! This is bad. I don’t like him and he’s stealing my couch.”
“What…? This can’t POSSIBLY be bad,” he purrs, “It’ll give you an excuse to come sleep with me.”
“TAE.”
“In my BED,” he giggles, clearly humored at your embarrassment. “We can be bunk buddies.”
At least that’s one thing you won’t have to worry about. You’ll thank him later, but for now, you still need to solve the problem of getting out of the bathroom.
“Aigo- I need to go, the professor is starting to look. Buh-bye.”
“Bye…” you say, even after you distinctly hear him hang up. So much for a plan.
Taking a breath, you steel yourself to consider your options. You could go out there and face him like the mature adult you are- or you can hide in here until either Jimin or Taehyung comes home to find your corpse.
Yeah, rotting in a bathroom is definitely how you want to go.
To stall for time, you take a hot shower to get the perpetual chill out of your bones, but it gets ruined by the fact that you’re not able to change into pajamas directly afterwards. Now caught between being butt naked or putting on the dirty clothes, you wrap a towel around your chest and take a seat on the tile floor.
Eight rounds of phone-solitaire later, you’re bored and uncomfortable as all hell and decide chancing a run to Jimin’s room across the hallway might not be a terrible idea. It would only take about three steps and Jungkook is probably sleeping again. He has no reason to harass you and even if he DID catch you mid-sprint, what could he possibly do?
Kicking your old clothes into a pile out of the way, you brace yourself, throw open the door, and leap into Jimin’s room with all the beauty and grace of a walrus. Flopping onto the carpeted floor after tripping on the threshold, you only recover by rolling over and kicking the door closed.
Unfortunately, there is no lock, but you hope Jungkook has the basic human decency to respect the boundary.
Rifling through Jimin’s wardrobe, as your clothes occupy the lower half of the entertainment center in the living room (i.e. inside the quarantine zone), you shimmy into a pair of his boxers and a tee shirt. He won’t mind if you borrow these. Probably.
Mission accomplished, you take a seat on the edge of his expertly made bed.
Jimin has always been a little uptight, ironing, folding, or hanging his clothes immediately after washing them, dusting every weekend, and organizing his CDs alphabetically. Anyone who walked into his room would be shocked, especially after seeing how trashed the rest of the apartment is. See, the thing about Jimin is he only intensely, SELECTIVELY cares. He’s the type of person who will leave lights on in every room, let piles of garbage collect on the coffee table, or “forget” his dirty dishes in the sink until they start to smell. But if you so much as walked into his room with mud on your shoes, he’d verbally gut you. Or at least try to.
The rain continues to patter outside, white noise that easily fades to the back of your attention. Why are you so bored?
It only takes about three seconds before the image of your phone on the bathroom countertop flashes behind your eyelids. From one prison to another, huh? But because last time you went thoroughly snooping through Jimin’s drawers for entertainment you found… well let’s just say you couldn’t look him in the eyes for a week, you decide to be brave and go back.
And of course, how could this be a romantic comedy if the instant you opened the door, Jungkook wasn’t walking down the hall toward the same destination?
He’s turned the lights on again by now, so eye contact is immediate. Both of your freeze.
You aren’t sure whether the hot, numb feeling that crackles across your cheeks means they’ve flushed or drained of all color, but somehow, you manage to speak first, trying to be polite for Jimin’s sake, “I’m just going to get my phone.”
“Okay,” he replies warily, tugging at the hood strings of his sweatshirt, breaking eye contact.
Awkwardly, you edge around the perimeter of your personal space bubble, wanting to be as far away from him as possible.
As soon as you secure the device, you scramble back to Jimin’s room and close yourself inside. There’s one new message.
Chimin: Manager let me leave early, on my way home :)
A smile of relief finds your lips.
Twenty minutes later, you hear the front door open and you fling the blankets off of your body, eager to greet your savior. At least now, maybe he can tell Jungkook to leave you alone- or just to leave, period.
You press your ear against the door.
“Hyung! Thanks again for letting me stay, but you didn’t tell me a girl was here too.”
“That’s ____, she’s been living with us for a while,” Jimin’s rich tenor voice is easy to distinguish.
So Jungkook DOESN’T remember you. Okay… maybe you could TRY-
“Oh, is she always so weird?”
“Yah, Jeongguk! She is your noona! Respect her,” your friend’s outburst is underscored by the sharp sound of a quick smack, though you can assume it’s mostly playful in nature.
“Noona…?”
“So if you did anything, you better go apologize-”
A laugh cuts off Jimin’s order, slightly derisive but mostly humored, “I didn’t DO ANYTHING, hyung. She’s the one who freaked out.”
DIDN’T DO ANYTHING. Your stained dress would beg to differ.
“Where is she?”
“Your room.”
Backing away, you leap onto the bed to lie down as casually as you can, not wanting to be caught listening. Thankfully, you even manage to pick up your phone and unlock it just as Jimin opens the door.
“____-ah I hope you didn’t- WHY THE HELL ARE YOU WEARING MY CLOTHES?”
“What? Did you want me to sit on your bed naked?” you tease, sitting upright and shimmying your shoulders.
If it had been Tae, he would’ve taken the joke and run with it, probably saying something about how that was the most ideal situation he could think of, but this is Jimin, and all he can do is turn pinker than Anish Kapoor’s famous paint.
He clears his throat, “You- you’re washing them.”
“Sure thing hon,” you laugh, winking playfully.
With that promise secured, Jimin relaxes, “Great! Anyway, I was thinking… if you’re not busy tonight, we should order pizza and maybe play games or something. Get to know each other.”
“Chim, Tae and I have known you for more than ten years-”
“I’m not TALKING about me,” he rolls his eyes, gaze coming to rest on a point over his shoulder. Your attention follows, but this is an action you immediately regret as soon as you notice the head of golden hair poking through the doorway. You tentatively lock gazes with Jungkook and he arches a single, infuriatingly perfect eyebrow at you.
A challenge.

I'm finally happy at my job and my bf is jelous that I get to do a job he wants to do so he constantly puts me down Abt it because it does not pay well and he hates his high paying job
He's also trying to shoulder all of this responsibly onto himself as if I won't help him with it because he thinks the house we rent with roommates is far more trashed then it actually is (not counting their bedroom) and thinks it will be hundreds of dollars to fix and that and if he gets a different job that will make him happy that he won't be able to afford to live happily as if he is the only human who has to sacrifice things to afford to live because housing is not fucking affordable at all
He also starts most of his sentences with a very heavily emphasized deep drawn out "Illl,,,,have to blah blah, Illll,,,,have to" and it leave me no chance to even attempt to talk because he's acting like the sole person to make things work or happen even tho I'm also a fully functional adult with a car and job. He thinks I absolutely cannot live or do anything without him and I've been with him for 6 years starting back when I was barely 16 to now at 22 so I've never had to do anything by myself because I just ask him for help or he's already there to help when things do happen.
He also has the sudden erge to get a seasonal job in Antarctica over the winter here(new England) summer there. Which honestly go for it if you want to but he thinks he's magically going to become the person he wants to be in a 5 month seasonal job. In Antarctica. But also he thinks that I'm incapable of being by myself which yeah the idea of him being gone for 5 months is saddening but I'll get used to it because it will also allow me to live as an adult by myself for litterly the first time. Because I've been attached to him at the hip since 16. I've never been an adult alone.
Witch beings up another point that our roommates move out in September. So I would be in a house alone Wich honestly I would fucking love but it's too expensive for just me and him hence having roommates. But I can move back in with my parents but then what do we do when he gets home. Well have to get another apartment. That will cost the same as the house we rent.
And that brings me to the next point, that he also doesn't know if we should put a down payment on a house and says that it's too soon to buy one in the current market in my area and all the closing costs. he would want a multi unit house or a big enough small house with a big property to live in inside our half barely converted mini bus (that won't drive) in the backyard and have his mom living in whatever house was there.
And he keeps asking me what we should do and to tell him what will make him happy. And how everything he dose is for me to make me happy but then blows off whatever I tell him would make me happy. I just want to get a peice of land and custom build a small house onto it and live just me+him+my ferrets and have a garden. and occasionally go cross country in a conversation van. I don't want a multi family house in a neiborhood. I don't want his mom to have the house that I pay the mortgage for, and for him and me to live outside in a bus. And I don't want fucking roommates. And he also said after these assholes move out that we have to find another person to move in. Like living with people who make me want to rip my hair out just to replace them the second they leave is appeling.
He also puts down the idea of me moving back in with my parents constantly like to me that's the answer. Get rid of all our furniture and just bunk there with my family that I grew up with while he is down in Antarctica at that job he wants. I can save up because I won't be paying 650 every month. I already have a shitton put away in preparation of a down payment on a house so it would just make sense to save even more faster. And if we keep the van we have and sell the bus if it's too cramped in the house I can have a room out in the van. And then when he gets back he can be there too and we won't impose on my parents in the sence of finding somewhere to put a bed.
All he dose is stress and flip out on me but is making it difficult to even reply to his rants because he doesn't want that he wants to keep renting our house with strangers just because it's a good house and "I'm not done living here yet" like bitch if we can't afford without roommates I'm fine with being done
I can't stand them. Their the worst fucking people I've ever met and I have to share my safe place(home) with them and Everytime I hear them it sets me into rage because I'm sick of their bullshit and way of living and thinking I'm a house maid and never cleaning the shared spaces and I purposely don't clean for 7 months and they don't get the hint and eventually I break and clean and it's sickinig
I've been sitting in the target parking lot typing because I litterly can't be home with his mood and constant worrying and stress of his next move and with the roomates always doing kitchen stuff and my bf getting mad at my ferrets for existing because he needs to take his stress out and their easy and I'm easy to take it out on and it's tiering. I've had to start putting them in their cage for the 8 hours at work and 9 hours I sleep and they don't understand why and they just want to play but if I leave them out in their room he gets pissed at me because one poops on the floor when she doesn't get attention but I'm too busy to give it to her and he doesn't pay attention to them so she misbehaves. So since he thinks their ruining the hardwood (the poop is not I used the wrong cleaning supplies and took the finish off the floor in one spot) so now he thinks their poop takes the finish off the floor hence the flipping out about the damage to the house (it's a 3 inch by 2 inch spot in the corner of the floor in the room and he said their going to have to refinish the whole room witch is absolutely rediculouse) they have to be locked away in their cage when I'm not with them.
I would fucking love to be left alone actually with no roomates and him gone for the job
Or live with my parents for bacically free wile he's gone
But no those 2 options are not options in his mind.
Rant over

TOXIC RELEASE
I need to stop letting the two of you live rent free in my head. At this point, y’all have moved on with your lives, but I’m still here dealing with the mental and emotional scars. Scars that neither of you have. Despite me not being a fixture in your lives anymore, you guys didn’t lose anything. You didn’t have your perception of right and wrong, karma, the universe, all of the above challenged. You haven’t lost your faith in the idea of love and trust, or loyalty. All you’ve lost is somebody you didn’t care enough about or respect enough to treat right. You both are fine. I’m not.
I already knew I was done with you, but a realization about the actual issue would’ve felt validating. Instead you’ve been stewing over the idea that I’m the type of person to be done with somebody over a girl. The very idea that I’m that petty, spoiled, or selfish. CRAZY. The whole thing is insulting because it tells me that despite being around me for years, you still think we’re the same. You think we’re at the same level or morality. Shit, you probably tell yourself that you’re at a higher level of morality. CRAZY. It’s insulting because I didn’t want this, she did. This was all her design, but for some reason, it’s legitimately impossible for you to imagine that she didn’t want you, or that she DID want me. Is that impossible?! It might be. Maybe she lied to me too as a means to keep my friendship. Maybe she didn’t want me as bad as she claimed. She cut you off regardless. So believe it or not, she didn’t want you forreal. And that’s trash, but somehow I’m the villain for her actions. Her lies. Her choices. CRAZY. This skewed narrative pisses me off because right vs wrong. Because I know my truth but you've crafted this narrative to further victimize yourself like always. The notion that we could tell our stories, and you’d STILL make me the villain a year later despite that actually being full of shit. The most offensive part being how PUSSY you are to talk big shit and then run away before you can get a rebuttal, as though only your words matter, but I’ve seen the petty shit before. I’ve seen the fuck shit before. Despite all that, the reason I need my words heard is strictly ego and nothing more. You’re delusional, narcissistic, and selfish as fuck. They would’ve always fallen on deaf ears, but I needed that for me and I’ll never get it.
The nerve of you to reach out anyways. I guess I shouldn't say that. When you cut me off before, you reached out. When i expressed being scared of losing you again, you said even if that were to happen, you would always come back eventually. Should I be surprised?! Not before. It almost felt good I guess. This feeling, this idea that maybe you’ve sat with your thoughts and feelings for so long that you’ve come to the realization that you did me wrong. You’ve come to regret the selfish choices you’ve made, the way you disrespected and disregarded my feelings on so many different occasions. The UNFORGIVABLE actions, and the insane amount of manipulation and abuse you put me through both in an effort to mislead me, but then to divert blame away from yourself afterwards. You know right from wrong. If you didn’t, you wouldn’t have lied so much. You wouldn’t be so easy to cave when backed into a corner. But you didn’t care. You didn’t care about me and you didn’t respect me. I made it too easy for you. I jumped thru hoops for you before. And afterwards, I walked on eggshells to keep you around. Tried to forgive everything I could because I needed something. I needed a feeling. A feeling that I had no hope of getting from somewhere healthy. Somewhere good for me. Somewhere period. So I settled from getting it from the shittiest place possible because it was my only option. And if I could “forgive” that, then you could do anything. But i never forgave it. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t. i know you wouldn’t either. The difference is you would’ve never had to find out because I’d never do that to you. Either way, you reached out on some I miss you bullshit. And for a moment I thought it might be true. That you might've actually felt that strongly toward me and because of that, you felt compelled to reach out because I was on your mind. It felt good. Powerful. Because I don’t miss you so much as I miss companionship. I miss sex. I miss cuddles. I miss texting. But idk if its you. Because as much as I remember the good, nothings more vivid than that night on your lawn. And the idea that you were so comfortable lying to me and making me thing that I was crazy. I cant miss that kind of presence. I can’t miss somebody who could do that to me. I miss what you offered me but the amount of pain is always gonna be connected to you the person. Somebody who looks at me as more of an idea than a person. Somebody who cares more about attention, than our connection. Somebody who can’t even talk to me about real shit and will just do some other wild shit because “you never claimed me.” Wtf does that even fucking mean at the point we were at. Idk, stupid shit. I’m missing the point. I never felt compelled to text you. When I said, I wasn’t using that number anymore, I meant it. and I told you not to use it either. Told you, you could like my pics and we can leave it there. So when you did, I felt strong. I felt decent about myself. Until I found out you saw my friend the same day or the day before or some shit. So you didn’t miss me. You were reminded of me and decided to say something. Or what’s worse, you saw who was my ex, and thought to yourself “hmmm.. shes back in town? i wonder if somethings up between them. lemme check in.” Suddenly that victories empty and you’re as trash as you were 6 months ago, let alone a year ago. No growth, still games. Conniving and scheming. Either checking for information, or checking to see if the doors still open but not actually caring about me THE PERSON forreal. It hurts. But more than anything, its annoying and insulting. The idea that I’m so weak that I’ll fall for that shit. That I’m that low on myself, that I don’t respect myself as much as you don’t respect me that I’ll fall for these tricks and welcome this energy back.
These things have been eating me alive. Protesting distracted me from them. They happened and I didn’t feel them. I thought that meant they meant nothing. They had no power over me anymore, but that’s not the case. I was just distracted. In a world were black people are being killed by the police and ignorant people are trying to justify/defend it, a shitty, musty sociopath, and a shitty manipulative woman, both of whom probably did belong together, are so damn insignificant. There’s WAY more important things to worry about. I had hoped that that’s where I was with it, but I was wrong. When the freedom fighting slowed down, their poison creeped back in. The stupid self righteous message and cowardly last word. The manipulative games and the factors that brought them forward. Things that bounced off me when the fires were too bright have hit me like a stack of bricks. What’s crazy is that they shouldn't. What does his skewed story do to my life. What does him having it wrong do to me?! He’s not a player in my life anymore so it shouldn’t matter. He’s a player in other peoples lives that are in mine. And maybe I’m bother by the idea that I may one day have to tell the whole story all over again to so many people and relive it if he decides to play victim again. Or if I stay on the high road, maybe I have to deal with people looking at me sideways based on lies and skewed perception. People know me though. They know my heart. So with that said, I shouldn’t worry about perceptions changing, or having to go on a defend myself world tour. Let mans live in his delusion in a world that has nothing to do with me. Set it free. Don’t think about it anymore. Ever again. And her, I didn’t respond. The doors closed. Why am I so offended?! Why does it matter that she tried it!? Especially if you weren’t receptive. It’s because I’m lonely. Because I’ve given up on the idea that there is somebody out there for me. And because of that, part of me thinks that the best I can do is that or nothing. Although I’d gladly take nothing, its just a reminder of how sad my future is. Maybe I’m further hurt by the realization that I did mean nothing and that I am just a game to her. Idk how to find strength in this one. How can i let go of this stupid message?! What do I tell myself?! She’s not part of my life, shes not connected to anybody in my life. She’s much easier to separate from. I want her to know she’s broken me though. I want her to feel bad about it all. But for what?! To see if she cares?! That’s stupid. I’m seeking validation. There’s nothing I can do to get it and so I think I’m going to keep dwelling on these things. These moments that hurt me, that insult me, that disrespect me until something does. I’m going to keep feeling smaller and smaller and keep replaying everything until something else fills my brain. Idk how to open this chakra. How to let this flow, and lock the closed door. Her life goes on. Their lives go on. Mine does to, but where does it go. It goes nowhere. I have nobody, and I have nothing. I thought I would find it when typing this. And i did with the first one, but I’m stumped when it comes to her.... She is playing a game I am no longer participating in. Although she doesn’t care about me, she now knows that I’m not playing, and I hope she has gained some respect for me and my space by coming to that realization. And even if she doesn't, it doesn't matter. I’ll never know. And because I’ll never know, it doesn’t matter. That’s the best I got I guess...
